You wouldn't be able to reobtain them if the hard drive goes. If you've got disc games, you can just replace the disc/console by buying a new one, but if then console goes, you wouldn't be able to login and re-download the games.

There's also a problem if you die, you might not be able to reclaim your PSN account in the afterlife.
