Spike TV isn't currently in the picture, but not because TNA has inked a new deal with them. Filling in the dots, that's likely because Viacom is currently making a bid for WWE programming, which would lead to TNA being kicked off Spike in the fall when their current contract expires if that bid is successful.
So your source is a rumor from a dirt-sheet, 4 months ago. Nothing recent. They even say them selves in the article that they are making a leap and filling in the dots.
Plus, couldn't Viacom have bid for WWE and run both shows until the TNA deal expires? Seems like they'd end up paying over the odds to buy WWE out of their deal with NBC now.
As for the QotW;

I was really disappointed that I had to miss this week's episode, since the current situation involving TNA's cancellation has some pretty long-reaching ramifications in terms of televised wrestling in America. So I wanted to provide a supplemental piece of my own, recording my own thoughts about the matter, given how long I've been watching the show, through its highs and lows, all the joy and anger it's caused me over the years.
Then I realized I don't know how to use Audacity or any other voice-recording software. So.....it's gonna be a day late.
Look for my piece tomorrow, if you're so inclined. In the meantime, I've provided some TPWW EXCLUSIVE Nowhere Man artwork that sums up my feelings on the matter pretty succinctly:

Afterlife, I think I have to agree with Savior here.
There does appear to be evidence that Viacom tried to bid for the rights to WWE programming before WWE renewed their current TV deal. However, the idea that Viacom is still trying now seems to be just speculation, and you presented it as fact on the podcast.

I'm not arsed to seeing Steph close out the last two RAWs. It is different and very bold, but it had me wishing that DB would have came out and did something. That might be the end game of it all.
That being said:
I would have closed RAW out with Dean Ambrose putting laxative in Seth Rollins and Orton's drinks and turning the bathroom lights off while they pooped, leaving used toilet paper in the stalls for them to use.

Going into summerslam, I want to see Cena interrupt The Authority as they're cutting their normal "Stephanie is going to beat that Bella for $9.99!" Cena starts his promo, and reminds everyone that there's still a bigger match on the card. Paul Heyman comes out with Lesnar, they get into the ring, and they talk for a bit. Dean Ambrose comes out, gets in the ring, and doesn't say anything. He just takes a cheap shot at Rollins which turns into a huge brawl. Steph leaves the ring, and gets attacked by The Bellas on the outside. The heels are getting the upper hand, when Roman Reigns comes out to clear house. The faces start to get the upper hand, but in WCW fashion, "WE'RE OUT OF TIME!" Just make sure we see Lesnar F5 someone who isn't Cena, Cena AA's someone who isn't Lesnar, Orton RKO's Roman, Rollins and Ambrose are trading blows with each other like crazy, end it with a huge brawl.
Four matches are promoted in one segment. Stephanie gets to stroke her ego by making her match a focal point in the last segment, Lesnar and Cena gets the attention the world title match deserves, Dean Ambrose shows up to be a the match that ignites the powder keg, and as Roman makes the save as we're reminded of his match with Orton. We're reminded that we can see all of this action for $9.99.

Contract signing between Ambrose and Rollins gets announced earlier in the show with the stipulation that if a signing doesn't occur, Ambrose can no longer ever go after Rollins.
Fast forward to the main event and Rollins is surrounded in the ring by lumberjacks and WWE security. Ambrose tries several times to get into the ring while Rollins taunts him going as far as to put his signature on the contract.
Ambrose runs to the back and reappears with Sin Cara's trampoline and performs the most majestic jump ever done over everyone, grabs the contract and signs it, then proceeds to attack Rollins.
Lumberjacks just watch since they were only told to stay outside while security can't get into the ring because of them. Raw ends with a brawl inside the ring and a massive one outside because a lumberjack accidentally hit another one.

The last two ending segments were very good. Hope this question isn't being asked because you believe they weren't. It's about time they have some major female storylines. Brie tied her story around the perils of the Big Show, Rhodes Family and her husband Daniel Bryan. Stephanie did two 1995 Pedigrees. :y:
Not sure. Maybe have some sort of Brock Lesnar MMA exhibition. Have Lesnar about to beat the shit out of some MMA guy but Cena comes down to save him. Then the MMA guy turns on Cena and they beat the shit out of him.

There's nothing wrong with the way Raw has ended the last two weeks. It's a major storyline that they've actually put some effort into featuring the in-ring return of a McMahon and it's making what will end up being a mid-card SummerSlam match come off as a huge deal. And the last few weeks have been fucking great storytelling within the feud. I would much rather see that end Raw then the stereotypical lazy formula of a meaningless match ending in a DQ and then an "OMG WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT WEEK!?" angry staredown that fails miserably at building any drama.

Alright. Well we'll just have to see how Brie Bella vs Stephanie McMahon is going to be. Should I be expecting a barn burner?
And really that isn't the TNA gripe. The gripe is that people read the results and judge what happened without seeing it. It isn't so much they they assume a match that hasn't happened yet is going to be terrible.
I mean, I'll give it a chance but they are putting a non-wrestler and a bad to slightly below average wrestler into a main event feud. Not only that, but the rest of the show has been lacking for weeks aside from a few cool moments. Just seems like a depressing time to be a WWE fan atm. Not saying it won't pick up, but currently what they're trying to sell us seems silly.

And I don't know how I got looped in to the TNA fanboy stereotype. I don't watch it all that much and when I do I am often extremely critical of it. Just the past couple weeks they have been better than WWE in every respect. The wrestling has been better, the storylines have been better, and the atmosphere of the NYC tapings has been a very good edition. A spade is a spade, that's all.
Overall though, WWE is typically miles ahead of Impact. Just not lately.

It's not like they're gonna get 20 minutes to try to put on a mat classic. It'll probably be a semi-clusterfuck of sorts or just a flat out brawl ala Stephanie vs Trish, hopefully something major will happen in the end and that will be that. Most people aren't sitting there pulling their hair out dreading the potential workrate that will be exhibited in every upcoming match. That's why crowds have been hot for it. It's just been a good, interesting story and people have been enjoying it for that. And that's why it's been closing out Raw.

Stephanie and Brie are about to have another show-ending brawl when Daniel Bryan's music hits. The crowd erupts as Bryan heads to the ring. He tries to talk some sense into the ladies, but is interrupted by the arrival of The Authority. Triple H talks down to Bryan a bit ("Best for business" "B+ player" etc). They look like the entirety of the group is going to beat the crap out of Bryan when they're interrupted by...
Bad News Barrett?
"Ladies and gentlemen, Daniel Bryan is - no doubt - a top-flight WWE Superstar. He may never be a legend like the man who is about to utterly destroy him, but very good nonetheless. But I'm afraid I've got some bad news."
By this point he's made his way into the ring and he's now smiling at Triple H.
"And the bad news is: If you're not Nexus, you're against us."
Suddenly, through the crowd, and over the barricade, the ring is now surrounded by Ryback, Justin Gabriel, Heath Slater, Darren Young, and the returning David Otunga and Michael Tarver.
The newly-babyface Nexus then goes to war with The Authority on behalf of their injured comrade.

I'd like to see where they were going with the whole "Nexus buries Taker as part of a Bigger Picture" angle.
I can only imagine it would have led to Wade vs. Taker at Mania XVII, which I'd have been happy with. We'd have missed out on the Taker/HHH match but that's fine by me. You might say that following Taker/HBK II from the year before with Barrett would have been lacklustre but I disagree. You could have created enough of a question over The Streak ending with The Nexus proving back-up for Barrett and you'd have given a new guy a rub by going against Taker at Mania.
Perhaps the best thing isn't what we get if they'd gone with this, but what we'd have avoided; they could have gone away from the whole "Cena in Nexus" debacle, The New Nexus, and The Corre.

Vince's death angle and the idea of him returning to invade the WWE with a hobo army.
The original idea was to be along the lines of the famous Dallas soap opera storyline of who shot JR (even though I was only six or seven at the time, I remember this vividly since I used to spend the night at Granny's house every Friday night and she'd always be watching Dallas religiously). Vince's entire family was going to return to TV in full force, including his real-life brother Rod McMahon and his family. Rod lives (or at least did at the time) in North Carolina and has pretty much zero contact with Vince. The company had actually contacted him and he'd agreed to show up for Vince's funeral, but of course that never took place, and no contact was ever made with Rod again.
I can't remember who it was, but at one point someone on one of our radio shows years back when we used to have the former WWE writers on during WrestleMania weekend mentioned that Vince, while gone in storyline, would be amassing a HOBO ARMY to try to reclaim his throne upon returning. That was never the case, although there were preliminary discussions about how when Vince was gone he'd grow out his hair and beard and fingernails and basically play a Howard Hughes-style recluse character. Those ideas never got very far.
In the end there was going to be a full investigation into who killed Vince, and it would be revealed that Mr. Kennedy (the now-Mr. Anderson in Aces and Eights in TNA) would reveal himself to be the illegitimate son of Vince. The long-term idea -- and keep in mind at this point there was really no such thing as long-term ideas because Vince still changed his mind on a dime -- was that there would be a number of swerves leading to a will being discovered. It would lead to a big reveal on Raw that Vince left the company to Kennedy, and the storyline would be either that Kennedy got the company or there would be a battle between Kennedy and Stephanie/Shane where whoever was the most ruthless would end up with it. This was going to play out all the way to WrestleMania 24, where Vince would make his triumphant return, side with Kennedy, and presumably it would go on from there.

After infiltrating a wrestling locker room, I set my eyes on a duffel bag. I start going through the contents to find a hard copy of "The Best in the World: At What I Have No Idea" . You start having sexual tension between Lana and Rusev ala PMS/Meat. Rusev is eventually unable to win matches due to him being exhausted from all the rigorous Soviet Sex. Lana then brings in VLADAMIR KOZLOV as her new lover and attacks Rusev. Rusev/Kozlov have a prolonged fued that ends with a brutal Russian Chain match at WrestleMania. Rusev and Kozlov end up shaking each others hands and both stand together as the Russian National Anthem plays while their covered in blood, sweat, and tears. In a shocking moment, Lana slaps Koslov and interrupts the Russian National Anthem. They pick up Lana and carry her to the back screaming. The next night on RAW, "The Russian Bears" announce they will take over the tag team division and Lana is never seen or heard from again.

Making Rusev interesting...
Cena, after conquering Lesnar and Rusev at the same time, defeats Rusev in a "Defection Match", where Rusev has to leave Mother Russia. Rusev ends up in Amsterdam with Lana, and they fully embrace the culture. Rusev re-debuts in full leather bondage gear, renaming himself, Rusex.

1) Pizza, being fat, and the ability to deep fry almost anything as a new food like Twinkies.
