well besides SvR, people have been right about the games being the best smackdown ever

HCTP > SYM > JBI > KYR > Smackdown!

and that's the order they came out.. hence each one was the best smackdown ever when people boasted about it being the best one ever, of course, besides SvR which was not better than hctp.

And why can't we say the last smackdown game sucks? It should suck in comparison to the new one in order for the new one to be good. Do you want to hear people saying "omg this next game is going to be shit compared to the last"? Would that make you happy? Idiot :nono:

Hey, has anybody heard of my Custom Crowd Reaction system that would rock so hard if used in a WWE game?

You could set what kind of reaction your CAW would get (or even a roster wrestler) upon his/her entrance. Settings could include: silence, dead (not completely silence), hushed, medium, loud, insane, catcalls (women), negative (slight boos), boos, big heat, insane heat.

The crowd noise could be piped in over the theme during the entrance. Why not? Right now the crowd reactions are tied directly to entrance "moves".

Hey, i noticed in Sluts entrance when she climbs the turnbuckle, the second turnbuckle looks like it gets pushed down too far and its stretching away from the turnbuckle bar. Also when she jumps off and hits the ground the camera shakes as if its really up close to her. It looks awesome.

Video 1 - Enterance

Dear god another fucking diva. Oh well, just three left. I'm going to cut Trish some slack, seeing as she is the only decent woman's wrestler left. Trish comes out wearing the women's title! God, I think I fancy this computerized version of her, the likeness is incredible. She makes her way down to the ring in that cat suit type thing she wears and taunts to the crowd.

Video 2 - Fight Time

It's Trish vs Christy and Trish levels Christy with a jawbreaker. When she gets up Trish lays into her with a clothesline and tosses her around the ring by her hair. Christy starts to fight back with an armdrag but Trish knocks her on her ass once again with a clothesline. Trish then finishes off the video with a kick to Christy's gut and a slap to the face.

Video 3 - The End

Trish whips Christy into the corner and the view switches to behind the commentry postion. Kinda anoying as you cant see much, but still cool. Trish drops Christy with a nasty looking back suplex off the top rope. Trish nails Christy with a Chick Kick and pins her for the three. Christy's head was in red when the kick was nailed, so I'm guessing you can't bust women open again. Trish celebrates her victory by blowing kisses to the crowd.

There is something seriously wrong with the weed you're smoking. If it weren't for these people, I probably wouldn't bother with this game. Hassan and Daivari may have had an offensive gimmick, however they had a damn good in-ring presense as well as a lot of style. I like the fact that they are in the game, if only for the fact that it takes a snapshot of a time in the history of the WWE where they were gutsy.

Okay, you guys are missing the point. The Divas are already in the game. It's done. But I've still seen some guys bitching that a Diva was next in the coutndown, and there is no point in complaining about that. Would you rather have the Divas at the end? I say save the best for last. Get all the Scotty 2 Hotty's and the Mark Jindraks and the Divas out first. THEN, hit us with the Triple H's and the Randy Ortons and the Legends. "BLARG!! News on Season Mode:
We still don't know much about SvR 2006's season mode beyond a few tidbits. First, just as in the last game, there will be voice acting galore from real WWE talent. Even better, you'll be able to choose from one of five voices for your created wrestler, a significant upgrade from the previous game that saw only one voice (and a pretty weak one at that) available. And while we don't have any plot details to share with you at this point, the producers for the game did say that SvR 2006's plot won't be strictly linear; there will be some branching paths to choose from when going through the game.

Video 1 - The Enterance

Pyro goes boom and Kane comes out. Good god, he's look more uglyier than ever, it's great likeness. He walks down to the ring and pulls himself up onto the apron. When he climbs over the top rope, he actually climbs over it and not some glitchy step over like last year. He does his raised arms pyro taunt thing then the video ends. lol just noticed Slow Chemical is in :love:

Video 2 - Fight Time

It's Kane vs Edge and the match starts about 3 minutes in and Edge gets his head rammed into the ring post outside and BUSTED WIDE OPEN! Edge gets thrown back in the ring and Kane taunts him. Edge then goes outside and grabs a sledgehammer. Before he gets to use it though, Kane clotheslines the crap out of him.

Video 3 - The End

Video opens up with Edge with THE RINGBELL in his hands. Kane punches Edge and hits the chokeslam. It hasn't been reannimated, it's the same one from all the previous Smackdown games :( Kane pins Edge for three. Kane celebrates the victory by doing his exploding ringpost taunt.

In the Gamespot video it's JBL vs Batista. We see how having no stamina can affect you, and it's not good. Always remember to regain your stamina people. Video switches to Jericho vs Cena with Jerich in control. We see Cena giving Jericho an FU, it was the one which was new last year.

Carlito vs Benjamin is next in the video and both look great. Shelton hits a dragon whip kick on Carlito and give him a double arm underhook suplex. It switches to Shelton being on the top rope and hits a cross body. King interupts JR when the pinning takes place, which is a nice little touch. It switches again to seeing Carlito giving Benjamin a back breaker and then switches to Eugene vs Kurt Angle.

Angle gives Eugene a belly to belly suplex. Both guys look fantastic, they have really out done themselves this year with the character models. Then the vdeo ends, not sure if it's ment to or not though.

Oh, and those are BGMs apparently, not even licensed music. Very good for original BGMs. I'm hoping the original themes and entrances are a lot better than SVR 1's.

I seriously hope they fix that lag before the game is released. That's way too much of a delay for my taste.

Video 1 - Enterance

So here comes Charlie Haas, this guy is so good he gets released by the big company yet still makes it into their video game. WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT ABOUT!? His music and jumpy enterance timing seem off, of well no biggy. He makes his way down to the ring, its actually pretty boring. Meh.

Video 2 - Fight Time

Chavo ducks a clothesline, Haas misses a spinning wheel kick. Haas drops Chavo with a spear. Did I mention it's Hass vs Chavo? Haas hits a gutbuster and then a scoop slam with a arm breaker type thing. lol Cole says Haas is one od Smackdown's youngest, brightest up coming superstars....SO WHY DID YOU FUCKING FIRE HIM!? Haas nails a northen lights suplex for a rope break.

Video 3 - The End

Haas nails a dropkick and locks in a full nelson/Master Lock. Haas lets go then locks in the Haas of Pain. I love this move, it's really "sick". Chavo taps out and Haas celebrates.

CAW basically shows alot of different options for you CAW. We see a ECW sign which is :heart:

The CAB looks like it is alot cheaper which is a god send, last years was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too expensive. I tried making the Attitude title the other day still needed $100,000 even though I had loads in the bank. Fucking stupid. Glad they have lowered the prioce.

Right, first up is the developer interview:

This one is done by Bryan Williams, a associate producer from THQ. Don't know if he actually works on the game because you can tell he's memorized what he's saying, what he talks about doesn't seem natural, maybe he is just nervous. He goes into great detail about the stamina system and the momentum meter. To regain stamina we either press select (which we already know) or just stand around doing nothing.

The main things we see in the video is the sleeperhold mini-game working, showing us what happens when we stop the slider in escape. We also see Triple H ramming Undertakers head into the ring apron, which means they are going to be more interactive this time around.

He talks about how your stored finisher will not have the same ammount of power as a full momentum finisher, but it will open up more gaming opitunities, some of them include stealing your oponants taunt, which completly drains their momentum meter.

He goes on to talks about the FYF match, saying they have taken the bra and panties match and built upon that. We see in the video the new spanking mechanic working. We have a verticle meter with "spank" up on end and we control the slider with the right analogue stick. We see a cutscene where Torrie is spanking Trish with a paddle. That may be once you have your fantasy meter full up.

He finishes up by saying the game is coming this holiday season.

The other videos are of Undertaker's enterance and the action that takes place throughout the developer interview.

According to Gamespot, there will be 63 wrestlers in the game....which would mean 13 legends. Obviously, there are no guarantees if this is true, but if it is, who do you predict will be in?

Here's my guesses:

1. The Rock (pretty much a lock....can't have Smackdown without the guy that created the phrase to begin with)
2. Hulk Hogan (due to frequent storyline usage in real life/included in DOR2)
3-4. Bret Hart/Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart (Jimmy Hart more or less confirmed them...expect Jimmy to be in as their manager)
5-6. LOD (Animal a tag champion in real life, they've been in the past 2)
7. Stone Cold Steve Austin (occassional appearance, still on good terms with the company in real life)
8. Mankind (still on good terms with the company...just signed a deal)
9. Vader (see above)
10. "Cowboy" Bob Orton (several appearances with his son)
11. Andre the Giant (appeared in last game)
12. Ted DiBiase (got scratched from last year's version, but has a better chance this year since he is now working for WWE)
13. Sgt. Slaughter (don't really want him in...but he works with the WWE and makes a yearly appearance so it wouldn't surprise me..)

I'd be more than satisfied with that legends roster, and it's likely to happen since everyone there (minus Neidhart and obviously Hawk/Andre) have some sort of working deal with WWE, be it onscreen, backstage, DVD deal, whatever...

I'd gladly sacrifice Slaughter, Vader, Orton, and several others there for the ECW legends that were mentioned in that fake information on page 13, but that is way too optimistic.....just as long as they don't go wasting spots on older versions of current guys I'm satisfied (unless it's 80's Flair, then I won't mind) :shifty:

Like you would make someone, and when you play online and someone likes the guy you have made, the person can offer you some money for your CAW.

And If you accept then you get the money to make belts and crap.

But here's another:

It's really simple. When you create a PPV, you have a voiceover (regulars: JR & King, Tazz & Cole, along with specials: Teddy Long, Eric Bischoff, Vince McMahon :eek:.) tell you about the entire card, using sound bits, like so:

"Welcome to / WWE Backlash! / We have a great lineup for you tonight! /
In our first match-up, it's / Rey Mysterio / vs. / Eddie Guerrero / in a steel cage ! /
Thats not all! We also have / J.B.L. / vs. / Batista / in a very special, bull rope match!"

etc.

That, combined with the neat waist-up animations they play for each match, would just be incredible to see. I mean, it would be simple to do, but not take up much space, and it would add so much to the game. :)

And another thing! When are we gonna be able to do outside ringpost moves? Like your opponent is on the inside, you're standing outside, and you grapple him in order to, say, throw his knee into the ring post, or his elbow, or whatever's facing you at the time. And a special can be, for example, a figure-four to the knee around the ring post. That would add so much to the Flair character, or even the Bret Hart legend character.

And they should bring that back, but with more interactivity and more choices, like a low-blow pull, a knee/leg/arm hit, or a submission move around the ring post.

Also, it should be possible to choose whether you want a "soft" Irish whip into the corner, a "hard" one where they're knocked silly, or a whip into the ringpost through the turnbuckles, like Burchill did to Scotty multiple times this past FNSD on WWE.com, 4th segment.

But it doesn't have to be that way. If they did it right and did the voiceovers all the same tone of voice, as if speaking excxitedly to the audience watching from their living rooms, it would work out wonderfully and sound very realistic and add a lot of value to the game, especially the Create-a-PPV function, which as it is, is just a group of matches with an opening video package (at least in SVR 1).

I was thinking about the ringpost thing the other day and that they'd done it before! They really should bring it back!

On the legends front...I'd prefer Ultimate Warrior in there, also I'd like a Mick Foley rather than a Mankind because when he comes back he doesn't do it as the Mankind character.

On the ECW front I think it's possible that there will be some legends in there, after all they've put the One Night Stand arena in there and there are only a handful of people that were at the show (RVD, Benoit, Guerrero, Mysterio, Tajiri) Hey, there's always hope!

Also, has anyone seen pics or videos of some of the newer wrestlers like Hassan etc?
The thing with Legends in the game is that they try to capture them as they were during their greatest. Notice how Piper in SVR 1 didn't look anything like he does now. He looks the way he did 20 years ago. Same with Rock, he has the sideburns and hair like he did about 5 years ago.

Fair point! But Foley's prime was barely when he was running around pulling a sock from his jock! Having said that in terms of popularity I guess it was!

I'd still like to see a Foley or even Cactus Jack rather than a Mankind, he was in last year's game and whilst I want some characters to be carried over (Bret, Rock) I just think a tweaked or diferent version of Foley would be good! Hell, have an 'alternative' attire be available in 'ShopZone'!

The fact that we can actually buy the belts we make in CAB. The why the layout of the menus make it so easier to move around the different options etc. We all know and love the models are amazing this year, so I can't wait to test drive those babies.

And I think the fact I need a new wrestling game makes me want this even more.

WMX8 - Don't Remember, most likely Austin vs X
WMXIX - John Cena vs Triple H

DOR - not too sure but I think John Cena vs Randy Orton

DOR 2 - John Cena vs Batista (royal rumble revenge :mad: )

Wow! Thanks for that! It's great to see all the wrestlers, even if it's really small. Even though I KNOW why Conway and Sylvan aren't updated, it's still going to irk me, because I'd really like to play as the Con Man. Maybe they'll have a CAW preset version of him? Otherwise, everything looks great. Joy and Christy look VERY realistic (and no comments about how you don't want Divas in the game). I cannot wait for this game to come out. :D

And lol at Kanes in ring pyro its more of a "pop" than a "kaboom!"

I thought the same thing when I watched the video. It sounded like the 'kaboom' made would be more fitting if it were applied to times where a wrestler collided with the steel steps. And they used that same crappy sound file for both explosions.

It seems there are a bunch of audio mistakes in this one. If you listen during the match, you can hear what sounds like Lilian announcing, "And introducing... And introducing..." randomly, and then after the match, she begins to announce, "Here is your winner:" only to be interrupted by King and JR. She never finishes what she says.

Honestly? The Buried Alive match doesn't interest me one bit. I couldn't care less about it, mainly because I can't stand the Undertaker anymore. I, too, will use Hassan in Season, then maybe Carlito for the 2nd time around.

Even though its not his current gimmick, its awesome to see him there. I hope they have the Ego Trip as his finisher.

So thats what the stamina meter is. I really like that, the details in this game are cheeseburger quality. And that is REALLY good if something is cheeseburger quality.

I'm all about the full package: ring entrance, action, after-match pose. It's all about realism for me, not isntant gratification.

I bet you couldn't give a shit about Season mode, right? Because of all those storylines and heel turns and crap like that.

The only time I turn off entrances is when I'm trying to speed through a season (just playing for attributes/money/whatever). For exhibition matches and my first time through season, I leave them on. Like people have said, it adds to the WWE "feel."

I used RVD as my guinea pig when playing SVR, using him for every damn match to try things out. I also just did random matches just to see the entrances, but that's spoiled already by the countdowns. ;) But I think this time around Hassan will be my guinea pig, until I make my usual CAWs (the "fWf").

Yeah, in SYM/HCTP I watched virtually every entrance ahead of time and so when the time came for the game the entrances didn't totally surprise me (not like it mattered...it still looked a million times better on TV).....I only watched a select few for SVR ahead of time, but I ended up getting less and less hyped each day for that game

Still, I'll watch everyone's entrance at least once in either exhibition/season (likely skipping my own entrance most of the time in season)

I can't believe this is still like 2 months away :mad: Gonna be hard to play SVR anymore (not like I do anyway) :shifty:

Video 1 - The Enterance

Hmmm, Rob Conway eh? How can I sum up my feelings about this guy being in? :love: :love: :love: :love: :love: :love: FINALLY! Just look at me, oh just look at me! :heart: I've seen about 3 seconds of this enterance and I think it is my favourite one so far. Conway comes out with THE TAG TEAM TITLE around his waist, were it belongs I say. Conway struts his way down to the ring, stoping to taunt the crowd. Lillian calls him Rob-errrrrrr Conway. Conway gets in the ring and taunts some more. I gotta say, the tag title looks amazing.

Video 2 - Fight Time

It's the Con-man vs Jindrak, and Conway starts things off early with a running elbow which flattens Jindrak. Conway levels Jindrak with a gutbuster and follows it up with a huge knee to the gut. After a couple of reversals Conway hits a neckbreaker, followed by more reversals, followed by a northern lights suplex.

Video 3 - The End

Conway and Jindrak are fighting on the outside and Conway is lacking serious stamina. When they get back in the ring Conway locks in a neck vice, which causes Jindrak to tap out. When he taps out the screen goes slightly blurry ala matrix style, pretty nice. The ref raises Conway's arm as he tries to catch his breath. I'm guessing your stamina also has a knock on affect of your celebrations too.

Yes, another Diva! One less to go. Don't get me wrong, IRL I don't mind them, but I've never used them in any of the Smackdown games, unless I'm forced to or just want to see some pixelated boobies :naughty: Christy comes out all energetic like she does in real life. She has her real music by The Hives, it seems they have really gone all out this year on the music front. Christy makes her way into the ring and taunts alot.

Video 2 - Fight Time

It's Christy vs Michelle McWho and Christy wastes little time and knocks her down with a shoulder block. Michelle drops Christy with a reverse DDT after countering a punch. Christy fights back though with a knee and some slaps. Christy drops Michelle with a neckbreaker and then hits her with the kitchen sink. Christy taunts Michelle when she is down, but gets smacked in the gob for it.

Video 3 - The End

Christy hits a back body drop and regains stamina. Christy then nails Michelle with a DDT and pins her for three. Christy celebrates by blowing kisses to the crowd.

We see whoever is playing this cycle through the many options of the game. An interesting one that shows up is called Title Match. No prizes for guessing what you can do in that mode. They cycle through the superstars and we get a glimpse at some of the superstar ratings we haven't yet seen on WOTD, although we have all seen them now due to that list of pictures put up.

The settle on Angle vs Triple H, and they are fighting in the Smackdown areana. The intro's start and Angle's pyro goes "pop", not "bang" but "pop". Lots of you suck chants. Angle gets in the ring and does his spining taunt thing. H is out next, lots off boo's for him too. H makes his way down to the ring and does his usual spitting thing and then climbs the ropes and taunts.

Match starts out with a clothesline for H by Angle reverses and sends H flying. Cole accuses Angle of cheating to win his gold medal, Tazz flys on the defence though. Angle locks in a head vice before dropping H's neck over the top rope. H regains control and locks in an indian death lock. They seem to have their noses up H's arse, as they are always going on about how he is the best in the business etc. Utter bullshit.

Tazz calls Cole girlpants after attack H for taunting. Angle's legs are yellow after alot of work on them by H. Whoever is playing this game completly sucks at it or the AI has been greatly improved. H is walking all over Angle and then H hits a pedigree on Angle, but he kicks out at 2. H locks in the death lock again to put more pain on the legs. Angle starts to fight back with bitch slaps and a shoulder block.

Angle and H are on the outsider wnad H tries a piledriver but Angle reverses it, nice. Angle slams H's head into the ring apron, which looks like it hurt alot. They get back in the ring and H whips Angle right out the ring with a hard irish whip. Angle gets back in and locks in a sleeper and we see that new sleeper hold mechanic working. H escapes on the first attempt, what a suprise. H then whips Angle out the ring again, to which the video ends. Screwjob ending anyone?

Create A Belt

Bit hard to do notes for this one as all it shows you is the options available. The prices have been greatly lowered, which is great because it means we will actually be able to make belts this time round. A new feature on this mode is you can now engrave peoples names onto the titles nameplate, awesome :cool:
