What Would Kevin Do?
07-28-2006, 02:36 AM
I'm not on the fence really, I'm pretty much PS3 all the way. The only way that is going to change is if...
A. The copy protection shit actually happens. I'm planning on using Gamefly for most of my PS3 game needs. No way in hell I would buy every game I'd want to play.
B. Xbox gets more developers, mainly Konami, Spike, and Square. I love my RPGs, I want MGS3, and Spike is awesome for the Fire Pro games, and one on PS3 would be great. If I could get games the same games from those companies on Xbox though, I wouldn't really care, and I'd probably get the X box.
Outside of those two things happening, I don't think I'd consider getting a 360. My problem right now is that in October, my warranty on my PS2 expires. I could tell Best Buy it's broken, get 150 rebate in the mail, and use it towards buying a PS3 in November.... 450 bucks for the maxed out PS3 doesn't sound bad at all... Except I'm paranoid about how well it will work (ala PS2 with overheating.)
So yeah, who knows.

Scheduled to be the first release of the SmackDown series to appear on PlayStation 3, the next iteration of SVR will appear during the 2007 Holidays (as stated by THQ representatives when announcing the cancellation of the PS3 version of SmackDown vs. Raw 2007).
Note: WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 has not been formally announced.
http://ps3.ign.com/objects/844/844743.html
I wonder if that means that the PS3 version will be a year late or if they will just continue the work on the PS3 version and make it 2008. Or if they even put out a 2008. I can't see THQ rewriting much of anything so I would say it would be best to take out what fans hated and then add what you wanted to the 2008. With another year in development they could surely make a great game. If they kept working on it that is.

Yeah, makes you wonder whether or not we'll see another one for the PS3.

Gran Turismo, Smackdown, MGS, and above all else GTA are keeping me to PS3 but if I finally get it and one of them jumps ship, I will be so pissed off.

Really, the only games I play consistently on the PS2 are sports games, SmackDown, and GTA.
And now all of those will be on the 360, along with the Halo series, Perfect Dark, and the 360 isn't as ridiculously priced.
<font color=goldenrod>I was in the exact boat as you are (I too only played SD, GTA, and sports regularly)...and have purchased a 360 earlier this week.
It's well worth it. Plus you of course have Halo 3 coming out next year, plus there are plenty of titles scheduled for 360 that look to impress. Downloadable demos are also the best thing ever. It's amazing how addicted I am to the Saint's Row demo.</font>

August 1, 2006 - The wrestling team at THQ was on tour late last week, dropping by the offices of publications all over the Bay Area to show off the latest build of WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007. The trip wasn't without its juicy little details either, as Creative Manager Cory Ledesma offered a number of interesting tidbits regarding both the PS2 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. As an added bonus, the trip also gave us an opportunity to go hands-on with the product for the first time since we played it at E3 this past May.
If any of our readers attended the San Diego Comic-Con in late July, then our sample build would probably look familiar to them -- as it's the exact same one that was on display there. Nine different superstars were available for selection in all, and if you haven't been following our earlier coverage, those superstars are Booker T, Chris Benoit, Triple H, John Cena, Rey Mysterio, The Undertaker, Johnny Nitro, Shelton Benjamin, and Kurt Angle. Most of their ring walks and introductions have been included as well, but they are still rough, incomplete, and missing their Titan Trons and final audio.
http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/article/722/722435/wwe-smackdown-vs-raw-2007-20060801052755129-000.jpg
But wrestlers aside, what specifically is different since the last time we've played? To start, the game is pre-alpha now as opposed to... well, whatever it was before (pre-omicron?). This build status means that a large number of SmackDown's final feature set is here and working in some fashion or another (including match types, match rules, crowd interactions, etc). We also learned that the PlayStation 2 version is a port of the Xbox 360 game, not the other way around. As a result, the PS2 iteration is running a little behind in terms of its completion percentage, but will be caught up entirely by the time the game ships in November.
We also learned that the differences between the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 2 discs will be minimal at best. Besides the obvious achievement system available to 360 owners (the specifics of which haven't been finalized), the only other real advantages for next-gen are visual and technical. The 360 version, for example, will benefit from the sweat system that keeps showing up in screenshots and videos, while the PS2 edition won't have it at all. Moreover, the PS2 version will only allow crowd battles and interactions during certain match types and circumstances, whereas the Xbox 360 version will allow for them for most match types (it's a horsepower/ performance thing). Content-wise, the games should be near-identical.
http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/article/722/722435/wwe-smackdown-vs-raw-2007-20060801052753911-000.jpg
On the subject of crowd and environmental interactions, those are working a lot better now too. In the few stages we tried the feature out in, there were a lot more objects and hot spots than there were before (boxes, electrical thingies, etc). There are a higher number of weapons that you can steal from the crowd too -- including canes and signs. Sadly, the script to allow for the tearing of signs isn't in the pre-alpha build yet, but it is coming.
The most important addition to the gameplay since we last toyed with it, however, is that the analog grappling system works much more fluidly. Response times are quicker than they were before and transitions from the "grapple type" animation to the actual grapple itself is a lot less robotic. At most, you're looking at a one-match learning curve before you get the hang of it too, so don't expect to be on foreign ground for long. From what we can tell, the new system doesn't look like it's going to revolutionize wrestling games the way Fight Night did for boxing titles when it moved to analog control, but it does make SmackDown feel more interactive. Want better news? If you don't like the new system, you can decide to use the old one instead (thank you options menu!).
One area that could definitely use some work, though, is the counter system. Though the mechanic now allows for infinite reversals if you can find two players good enough o keep it going (positional reversals mind you, not move-specific ones), the timing is still twitchy and hard to figure out from wrestler to wrestler. THQ tells us that this is because it has fully been tuned yet and the HUD that will appear when a counter opportunity presents itself hasn't been implemented yet -- so we anticipate a positive change here.
For more on what WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007 will be bringing to the table last year, be sure to follow the links to previous previews located below. Our media page has been updated with a small selection of screens and direct-feed movies too, so be sure to check those out as well. If that's still not enough wrestling for you, take heed -- we'll be back in a few weeks with the full roster reveal and the beginning of our annual SmackDown Countdown. Be there!

Okay so I was watching the new videos out at IGN and I had a thought. I know it is pointless but THQ are always going on about making the game as real as possible. Well why not add in camera men, i was watching the videos and when it changed camera views I do not know why but I expected to see a shot of he superstar with a dude carrying a camera behind him. I know it would be pointless work but they dont have to be specific they can just be generic models. Honestly though its not like the game needs it, i just think it would create more realism to a game that the producers are trying to make as real as possible.

Well I'm sure they will have the wieght restrictions for just picking a guy up and if yu noticed in the video interview holding a guy in a strong hold, like the choke slam position shown in the video, does deplete your stamina alot quicker.
I do like the idea of 2 camera men hovering at ringside, with the slightest touch knocking them and and dropping their camera to use as a weapon. Good stuff.

<font color=goldenrod><b>LEGENDS POSSIBLY CONFIRMED</b>
Back before DOR2, EBGames listed every legend in the game LONG before they were officially confirmed...and were forced to take the list down and replace it with a generic Legends statement. Their list ended up being spot-on though.
Well, they did the same for SVR07. The list is gone now but here's who was on it:
Andre The Giant™
Bret Hart™
Dusty Rhodes™
Eddie Guerrero™
Hulk Hogan®
Mr. Perfect™
Rick Rude™
The Rock®
Roddy Piper™
Steve Austin®"

Definately a believable list. I REALLY hope its legit because this list rules ass especially compared to last year's. Perfect and Rude >>>>>>>>>> 2 other Hogans
If this is in fact true, I'd also wager that Mick will be on the regular roster then...which is fine by me, I don't want them to leave him out</font>

http://www.gameinformer.com/News/Story/200608/N06.0802.1701.09613.htm
A tag team from THQ stopped by the Game Informer offices recently to slam our heads into the turnbuckle and show us their latest wrestling title, WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2007, on Xbox 360. We got the full breakdown on the new control setup, found out what it’s like to wrestle in the crowd, and got some insight on what fans can expect from the story mode. Plus, check out over 20 minutes of direct feed videos of sweaty men tossing each other around.
For WWE 2007, developer Yukes and THQ have decided to focus all grappling maneuvers on the right analog stick. Players can flick the right stick in several directions to perform a quick grapple move that doesn’t take off a whole lot of damage, but can put the opponent in a more vulnerable position. For stronger grapples, players must hold the right bumper and flick the right stick. From here you can choose to perform one of several moves or click on the right stick to initiate special moves. Specials will throw up contextual button prompts onscreen where you can do things like rub an opponent’s face on the ropes by moving the right stick back and forth.
As far as the rest of the buttons go, A is the universal “action” button, X is for strikes, Y is for running, B regenerates stamina, the triggers handle strike and grapple reversals, the left bumper performs finishers, and the D-pad unleashes a variety of taunts. However, last year’s control scheme is included as well for those who can’t handle change.
WWE 2007 has over 20 “hotspots” in and around the ring for players to execute moves particular to the situation at hand. Aside from the obvious slams and strikes fans can imagine from the ropes, turnbuckles, and metal barriers, they will also be able to utilize places like the announcer table to deal out maximum damage. We were able to rip off the table top, grab the TV monitors inside, smash them on our unsuspecting victim, and then choke him with the cables hidden inside the table.
THQ also promises a new storyline with complete voiceover for all of the cutscenes. “We have a new format similar to the one we had in [WWE SmackDown!] Here Comes the Pain where you have three tiers you can go down: champion, challenger, and a general storyline tier. You actually jump between those and play multiple years and see multiple stories that way,” explained Cory Ledesma, creative manager at THQ
“A lot of feedback we got on the story in our season mode in the past is that, at the end in WrestleMania you win the championship and you never get the chance to defend the championship through the story. In this format, you can play multiple years, ten years, and you can go down that champion path and actually hold the belt and challenge people for it,” said Ledesma.
Another new dynamic lets wrestlers fight in the crowd. Observers will clear out as you toss your opponent over the barrier and slam him into the cement. Here you can grab weapons from the crowd like canes and crutches, break a TV with an enemy’s face, or set up a table and smash a guy through it. The pain disbursement options seem to have really branched out.
Finally, we’ll get to the part that everyone wants to know about. Who’s going to be in the game? We know for sure that John Cena, Rey Mysterio, Triple H, Kurt Angle, Shelton Benjamin, Chris Benoit, Booker T, Johnny Nitro, and the Undertaker will be making an appearance. And we’ve seen several other favorites that we’re not allowed to talk about yet. Sad, I know.
WWE SmackDown! Vs. RAW 2007 is looking like it’s taking wrestling to the next generation in style. But don’t take our word for it – check out our massive video collection to see for yourself.
-Bryan Vore

Well let's play the guessing game.
In:
John Cena
Rey Mysterio
Triple H
Kurt Angle
Shelton Benjamin
Chris Benoit
Booker T
Johnny Nitro
Undertaker
Should Be In:
HBK
Randy Orton
The Big Show
Kane
Rob Van Dam
Lashley
Edge
Carlito
Ric Flair
Maybe:
Batista (Since he was out for most of the year, but still a big enough name to include anyways)
The Great Khali (Might've debuted too late)
Mark Henry (He was a big part of Smackdown up until his injury last month)
JBL
The Spirit Squad (Will they go ahead and use 5 spots on them?)
Finlay
Chris Masters (Would his suspension hurt his spot on the game?)
Joey Mercury (See Masters)
Mr. Kennedy
Umaga (See Khali)
Matt Hardy
Evil Vito
08-05-2006, 04:12 PM
<font color=goldenrod>Here's my now-revamped crack at the roster, assuming the legends list is legit. I'll go with 50 current guys (making it 60 overall with the legends)
RAW:
Big Show
Candice Michelle
Carlito
Chris Masters
Edge
Eugene
John Cena*
Johnny
Johnny Nitro*
Kane
Kenny
Lita
Melina
Mick Foley
Mickie James
Mikey
Mitch
Nicky
Randy Orton
Ric Flair
Rob Van Dam
Shawn Michaels
Shelton Benjamin*
Torrie Wilson
Triple H*
Trish Stratus
Umaga
As much as I love the Squad, the Raw side of things seems a bit bland...probably because the Squad may very well just be the same character times 5.
SmackDown:
Ashley
Batista
Boogeyman
Booker T*
Brian Kendrick
Chris Benoit*
Daivairi
Finlay
Great Khali
Gregory Helms
JBL
Joey Mercury
Ken Kennedy
Kurt Angle*
Lashley
Mark Henry
Matt Hardy
Paul Burchill
Psicosis
Rey Mysterio*
Super Crazy
Undertaker*
William Regal
I like this roster a LOT more than the Raw side. Khali's an iffy choice...as he debuted in mid-May, but I think they'll squeeze him in thanks to a WWE tipoff. If he's not in it'd be Tatanka or someone
And to explain the differences in roster size: I'm assuming that Ashley was originally meant to be on Raw, and Orton, Melina, and Nitro were originally meant to be on SD...so originally it was meant to be 25 per brand</font>

<font color=goldenrod>Yeah, I was trying to decide between Candice and Vis as the last spot...just couldn't bring myself to choose Candice. With Candice, that'd be 7 divas, just as much as last year...so I'll add her in.
Eugene's probably a safe bet though...if only because he has all those specific moves.
Also, for the sake of realisticness, I'm cutting Vito and putting in a guy I completely forgot about - Captain Paul Burchill, who was pushed huge back around cutoff time</font>

<font color=goldenrod>Shit....how did I forgot about the Mexicools? :(
Alright, two final changes...Crazy and Psicosis in, Nunzio/Tatanka out. Smackdown roster is still miles better than the Raw one in this, mainly due to all the new guys</font>
You really think Khali will be in? I'm having a hard time seeing it. I think if they went that recent then they might as well put in some ECW members.
It's going to be hard to make a good roster out of what they have now.
Evil Vito
08-05-2006, 06:04 PM
<font color=goldenrod>Eh, I think Khali will be in...he was around a full month before the ECW'ers
Though, an idea did surface: since they all take up the same amount of space anyway, may as well not include secondary attires and instead use those spots on a few extra guys (ECW)...Tommy, Sandman, and Sabu at least. If you want an even number throw Funk and Balls in as well. You would think they'd know the fans would expect to see ECW in.
Will it happen? Not likely, because Yukes has a fetish with including pointless backstage attires for the big names.</font> :(
I could really care less about different attires. Only the ones that change the characters (Undertaker, Kane, Foley, and only Hollywood Hogan) should be the ones that stay in or at least get thought. Things like suits for HHH, Flair, etc are just pointless unless you are roleplaying your matches.
I guess Khali has been there longer then I thought but I still have my doubts about him making it.

Hey, has anything been said about having your own entrance music from the 360 HDD?
Nothing has been announced but I would feel safe saying they would add it. Both RAW games had it and seeing as how they are creating the game for the 360 and porting it to the PS2 I think it would be a good call.
KingofOldSchool
08-05-2006, 07:10 PM
I'd like to see alternate wrestling attires for certain wrestlers. Like for example, guys like Angle, HBK, Benoit, and RVD don't always wrestle in the same outfit. So why not include different outfits for them? Yes, I don't want Batista wearing a suit while wrestling a match, but have more than one of his tights available to wear during matches.
Evil Vito
08-06-2006, 10:14 AM
<font color=goldenrod>I don't think alternate attires are a big deal at all. A nice touch but if it were to come between giving a character a different attire or adding a whole new character into the game, I'd choose the latter (because different attired guys still take up the same amount of room as a whole new guy)
I'm hoping they still have CAW-trading online available (which would be really stupid if they didn't)...save tons of time and just download the CAWs from the top makers
It'd be cool if it went the Attitude route and you can make as many CAWs as you have space on your hard drive. You can easily update the entire roster and barely lose any space.</font>
Just John
08-06-2006, 10:44 AM
I think alternate attires should be a shortcut to having extra legends, like HBKs WM X ladder match attire, RVDs ECW attire, Kanes masked attire, and Biker undertaker attire.
Kane Knight
08-06-2006, 11:23 AM
I think they should just go back to making wrestlers out of CAW parts. They have the technology to make it look as good as the renders, and thus wouldn't have to have the space for a fully rendered superstar for each outfit.
Just John
08-06-2006, 11:24 AM

Kane Knight
08-06-2006, 07:51 PM
Day of Reckoning, the "inferior" system, made CAWs that were easier to make and looked more like the "regular" superstars. I don't see why they can't make the Superstars look better and the interface simpler, and I sure as fuck don't see why they can't just make wrestlers look that good, since you can clearly do it with CAWs (And imagine how good they could look when people with no skill can make a decent CAW).
Kalyx triaD
08-06-2006, 09:29 PM
I've had matches with my CAW's in DoR2 against real guys and people watching would say, "Who's the new guy?" or "Where'd he come from?"
A Smackdown! CAW looks like a plastic faggot with high cheek bones. No matter how you mess with the face he'll look like the next CAW. His body structure just doesn't seem convincing...

Some types of CAWs can be made convincingly with a lot of work. It's a chore on Smackdown, and actually kinda fun on DoR (On 2, it became a chore, but...)
We should probably send them hate mail so we can get CAWs to look more real without having to put a lot of time into it.

We should probably send them hate mail so we can get CAWs to look more real without having to put a lot of time into it.
Sure; when I talk about hate mail I'm taking it overboard.

Other minor things that I would like to see done differently.
Have special guest refs actually wear a ref's shirt and if the special guest ref does something to one of the wrestlers (hit them with a chair, finisher, etc) then the other wrestler won't just stand there like a goof. Have them actually take advantage of the situation.
Give the option of how you want the wrestlers to carry the belts to the ring. It wouldn't be the hard, at wrestler select they have the option of (if they are a title holder) either carrying it over their shoulder or wearing it around their waist. I'm tired of seeing guys like The Big Show wearing a title around his waist.
What Would Kevin Do?

You know what is an awesome feature, but I don't know if it would work for the series.
In the game "Wrestle Kingdom" there is a spirit bar. Which can basically be used to A. Make regular moves stronger. B. No sell moves/get up off the ground immediately, C Boost your momentum, and D. Make your opponent stand up dizzy.
I dunno, maybe it's me, but in the game I love taking a half nelson suplex from Kobashi, popping up before he does, and nailing him with a spear as he turns around.

God I really hope they have sorted out the ladder matches. Had one with RVD last night, match starts, we both go outside for the ladder, he hits me with it and goes onto win all within 15 seconds. I was very mad.

It's even better when the match has gone on 15 minutes, the guy's all red, you hit not one but TWO finishers, and get up the ladder, only to be yanked down, and though you're still relatively fresh, you can't get up to stop the crippled guy from getting the title.

Hey People
Got a chance tp post again.
That ladder match problem I had last night, I went to use a houston hangover, missed landed outside the ring, and my opponent scampered up the ladder and took my hardcore title :@
also, the rosters for this game look good, peoples ideas on here about the rosters seem entirely plausible.
The legends list looks too normal though as it is little different then before, and thank god only one hogan.
But me buying the game depends on a few things, such as:
Create-an-Emtrance/better selection of original entrances.
Better CAW maker.
able to put own music/better selection of music.
more weapons for a hardcore match.
Good season mode.
and before I leave I want to ask a simple question about SvR2006 look at Batista, then at the max stats for each weight class, and tell me what weight class he would fit in.

I would in fact like this very much, as the caw I made of myself, the Edge like jacket I wear "phases" out through the title when it's around my waist.I would like the option of around waist, over right shoulder, over left shoulder, around neck ( like Bubba Ray and Taker did at some point . And one thing that pisses me off the most about SvR2006 is that when you are in a match for a title say the IC title, and you are the reigning Hardcore Champion you don't bring you title to the ring, and the only way to do so is put it on the line. for example a one-on-one match against the champ winner takes all. And also that unless you are defending your tag title in a championship match you don't wear it to the ring. And another thing is if you have two titles, for example myself just the other night unified the world titles in a elimination chamber, but I can only wear ONE to the ring, and I have to be defending it to do so.
Imagine how cool it would look to have one over each shoulder, or one around waist and one on shoulder.

Yeah I agree KK they do look abit wide, Im almost certain its because of the pictures, unless Rey has been eating alot of deep-fried chicken.
But Im amazed at the graphics, disgusted by the worms under batista's skin.
belt looks good hopefully you can carry more then one, with the option of where.
Sweaty wrestlers have never looked this good.
It's just the way the screens were stretched. I'm not too impressed by either systems graphics, in terms of an upgrade. The PS2 looks nearly identical, which isn't bad but it's like they've done as much as they can, and the 360 looks like they followed the basketball games and just added sweat. They look nice but nothing considerably better than last years.
The one thing that breaks realism for me the most is the fact that every wrestler has noticeable abs and all over beefed up muscles. I bet if Mark Henry didn't have an outfit that covered his stomach he would have a six pack.

I just hate the way the Smackdown games feel, compared to the N64 games. I dont' feel like I'm wrestling as the Superstar, or that I'm actually inflicting damage on my oponent.
I don't hate the games, I just wish they started the actual wrestling in the game completely over. Plus the moves never look really nice.
I'm not bashing this game, it's gonna be great. It just seems to me that every new Smackdown game is he exact same as the previous, just with a new feature, improved graphics, and a new roster.
Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth is still my favorite on in the series.
I think I might hold out getting this for the PS2, and maybe wait and see if I get an Xbox 360 or PS3. Hey, is it gonna be out for PS3. I think I read that it's not anymore. Xbox 360 has been looking and sounding pretty sweet over the past few months. I'm considering picking it up.

what you said is "could have been the best", there was no certainty there.

Because it has the best gameplay of any generation, but the game was neutered by shitty story mode and lack of gameplay features. It's unfortunate, but true.
El Fangel
08-19-2006, 11:39 AM
I suppose, but the way the game flowed in the match, and the way you could break up moves, and actually make double team moves, made the game seem so great for me. Also as much as I dislike it, the longer the match goes on the more tired your thumb gets from hitting the A button, and sort of gives an illusion of how tired your character is getting.
Story mode may have been a little bad, but I found the way you work yourself up the ladder, instead of showing up and being involved in the storyline of the year, alot better.
Also what do you mean by gameplay features? Matches, Wrestlers?
Kane Knight
08-19-2006, 03:38 PM
My thumbs never really got tired. I used to do Battle Royals with my buddies without issue. The only real downside is that the roster was limited, and to make a good CAW, you had to run through a retarded story mode (The extra points was good for female wrestlers and CAWs you didn't want to be too tough, but come on).
The multiple finishers (meaning you could make up a few, too, the gameplay, etc., was great, but they needed to reduce the ease with which holds would be broken and people would be knocked down. They went down with a slight brush, which made no sense. I wanted to a 6 wrestlers onscreen, but that would be chaos with the way the moves work. I strike you, you fall down, you take out everyone near you. This made handicap matches incredibly fucking cheap, and easy to win. Which, I suppose, is better than Smackdown, where you can wail on the guys all you want, but they keep getting immediately back up, preventing you from isolating.
There were a lot of little things that hurt the series though, and took away from "best game ever" status.
Kane Knight
08-19-2006, 03:45 PM
Gameplay features means, but is not limited to:
Lacking Story Mode, that could only be operated once per CAW and only by CAWs, not to mention only male CAWs (Which isn't that bad, since 80 OVR should be enough for most of the chicks)
Lacking Roster, 10 smaller than comparable Smackdown games. That's a lot, when you consider it means less than 15 per show.
Limited modes, which shouldn't even be an issue in modern game releases. We need more match types.
CAW editing, while leaps and bounds better than Smackdown, severely limited your choices for attire and layering, which again, should never be an issue within modern systems. CAWs are out-of-the-box awesome, but if you want to get more advanced appearances, it can be a royal pain in the arse.
Hit detection, as I mentioned before. I like being able to break up any move, but it's TOO easy.
El Fangel
08-19-2006, 03:52 PM
It has its flaws but none too severe to make it a less then 9.0 in my opinion, although the knock-out touching is bit bad, and yes 6 people is havoc, but it is still the best game IMO
Funky Fly
08-19-2006, 05:01 PM
Just a quick note on the hit detection for holds and pins:
DoR went with the WCW vs nWo: World Tour style (any attack on the guy and the pin/submission is broken up). They should have gone with the WCW/nWo: Revenge/WM 2000/No Mercy style (you have to be facing the pinner, not the pinee to specifically break up a pin).
El Fangel

So who is gonna get this on what system? Im gonna get it for 360 because im hoping running it through Live will avoide lag.
I wish they would make it cross platform that way we could set up a TPWW Fed and wrestle through it.
...and on a side not, a question jus popped it my head, what finisher do you guys use for yourself as CAW? My finisher is the Indian Deathlock and STO. Always has been =)

i was wondering that too. I hope so, i dont see why it couldnt be streamed or DL'd from the HDD. Logically, they take your CAW from the HDD, and anything you put on your 360 is converted into WMA format which streams pretty quickly.

They changed the controls. That means they didn't really do much else, and are hoping this will mask the problem.
I'm not sure if this has been posted, but I just read in the September (I think, I don't have it right now, came in the mail yesterday) edition of Game Informer that the PS3 version has been canceled and they'll be putting out the first PS3 game in late 07, which will be the 08 edition.

SmackDown vs. Raw 2007: Season Sneak Peek
We take a quick look at the new components that make this year's story mode tick.
by Jeremy Dunham
August 25, 2006 - Though we haven't had the chance to play through the season mode of WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007 just yet, THQ has hooked us up with some interesting details regarding this year's story segment. Still the meat of the single-player game, the 2007 edition of Season Mode looks to add a number of new tweaks to improve over last year's version -- specifically in regards to the storylines themselves.
"Choice" is what THQ wants to emphasize this year. Regardless of a superstar's standing (general, contender, or champion), their list of available options before a match will be much more varied than they were before. Players are no longer locked into just the SmackDown or Raw brand this time either, and because of that, rosters on both shows will continue to change as the season moves on. In fact, players are really going to have their work cut out for them, as they'll participate in both the Raw and SmackDown shows. Of course, just like last year, users can continue to play as many seasons as they want back-to-back-to-back.
To help move the storylines along (besides the cutscenes), THQ has also implemented an all-new messaging system this season. As soon as a superstar enters the locker room, they'll have the option to view their email folder and check out notes from the General Manager and other superstars. Additionally, players can also listen to audio-powered voicemails that can include anything from your basic "Hello" to plot-pushing comments or good old-fashioned trash talk.
Another new feature this year is the inclusion of WWE.com and WWE Magazine articles. What's interesting about this is, that during your off-time, you can log right into a replica WWE.com website and do some shopping. It's here that you'll be able to purchase legends to wrestle with, championship belt types, and all-new costumes. Players can also read up on superstar bios if they want to research an opponent or check out a quickie story that retells something that just happened in the game (written to match the real-life WWE articles). Gamers can also pick up WWE magazines from their desk to learn supplementary details about their current storylines.
Unfortunately, and as mentioned earlier, we haven't had a firsthand opportunity to check these new features out for ourselves yet. How these new additions make the game better (or worse) compared to last year is still the big question mark -- as are whatever other differences there might be compared to 2006. Luckily, we should have a more detailed update on these facets sometime in the near future.

ECW would be better represented if the Divas weren't there.

<font color=goldenrod>Holly's definately the most curious decision of the lot.
Also, now that I think about it, Vito might be in his more recent form...he's had the gimmick for a few months already and it'd be odd having him in Mafia form without Nunzio in the game.
Well, right now there's 51 current wrestlers...I had always heard the final count of playable characters would exceed 60...so here's my bold prediction:
Active Roster: 51
Legends: 10 (the legends list posted earlier)
Special Unlockables: 4 (Cactus Jack, Tommy Dreamer, Sabu, Sandman)
TOTAL: 65
---
Originally I wouldn't have fathomed this, but seeing some of the inclusions anything can happen.</font>

I just put them into their current (or last) brands. Shouldn't need to tell you the key.

I think Holly was put in by pity (his injury) to be honest, great roster though, nice to see some WHERE THE FUCK IS PAUL LONDON.

Because I really don't know or care what clueless waste of airtime is on which show, but I'll edit it.

Jericho should be a legend but I didn't expect him to be in it this soon as there is a slight possibility he will return to the WWE one day and Please neg or pos rep me, I can't keep seeing this guy jacking off.

Divas why the hell would they waste disc space on people that no one ever uses.
They think Divas sell? They want to appeal to women, thinking crappy useless female wrestlers attract them? They don't want to give us a good roster?
Take your pick.

WTF? No Spirit Squad and no London and Kendrick? I'm happy Umaga/Burchill, Finlay, and Kennedy are all in, but come on. The SS has been a main part of Raw for awhile. If nothing else, I would have atleast liked Kenny in it.

<font color=goldenrod>The Squad is perfectly understandable. I can see why they wouldn't wanna take up 5 spots but not just put a couple in either.
Kendrick/London just shock me though. First time I looked through the roster I didn't even notice they weren't there...just assumed they were. Prolly didn't wanna include just one set of tag champs.
Whatever, Vito makes this roster rule by default</font> :y:

Why is Snitsky on there? He's probably made 5 appearances on Raw all year and London and Kendrick are Tag champs and not on there.
