Yes! Just got my Limited Edition through the post. A day early.
It's come in a "shiney" sleeve that opens like a book to a picture of Marston and the deputies riding their horses.
The 3 exclusive bonuses and the OST come on a card with one code. The code can be used online for an MP3 DL of the OST and the other 3 are used on the 360, obviously. Can't wait to try it out.

you might enjoy your games more if you didnt take them so damn serious. Honestly though, the moment a game does you wrong you act like they just shit in your cereal bowl.

The connection issues can be problematic, but like i said, i think in your situation, its just YOUR connection...it happens with MW2, and im sure it doesnt help with this game.

If you get a group of guys who dont mind just roaming around, shootin' the shit, and enjoying the environment the game gives you, you can have limitless amounts of fun.

id say start single player, but there is little to no learning curve with this game (especially if you played GTA), so jumping into multi soon after is safe, but you will not have nearly as much fun in multi if you dont have at least a couple buddies playing with you.

If you get the right pals online, hours pass in the blink of an eye.

Honestly, when Roxer and Kalyx are online, i know i'll have fun because us three just play our part in the game, and none of us really mind doing anything, or nothing.

Have you tried playing any of the single player? At least half my game time has been SP, and it's been awesome. Haven't even finished the first area because it's so fun to mess around with shit. I fucking need to to unlock more items, but still.

MP is fun as fuck, but there are connection issues. I'd wait a while before throwing a hissyfit.

I'd go SP for a spell, but with no persistent character, it won't hurt you to go MP.

There is bobcats in the game. Probably not the ones that mauled your horse though, as I always confuse them with foxes.

Jumped in a free roam yesterday for a bit, and noticed a group of like 5 people all together with the skulls instead of the dot. Was like what is this? So I travel over to where they are, and see that they're inside this huge fort shooting down the entire mexican army. Being the up standing citizen that I am, I sneaked in through a hole in the side of the fort, and proceeded to assassinate one of them. Was killed trying to get the others, but had the most amazing time charging the fort trying to kill them while they where freaking out. Also dynamite is pretty awesome.

You can press X while looking at the challenges for the outfits to mark them. Then you will see a purple circle at the location you need to search. The scrap for the outfit is usually in a chest somewhere inside the circle.

I did play SP for around an hour before multiplayer, to make that clear.

My beef was the fact that out of the next two hours I spent more time looking at loading screens then playing online.

Got to play around 3 hours last night and only lagged out three times, however it seems to happen only when I am in a posse.

Couple of my buddies have the same problem.

Oh and my connection was fixed a bit back, opened a port or something and now I very rarely get booted from MW2.

Game is pretty fucking fun once you actually get to play and get some rifles. Getting spawn raped by a posse however wasn't very fun :(

The paper map that comes with game shows you where animal regions are. But not bunnies.

If a posse is harassing you, leave their area or leave the game and find a new one. XBL's GT rating and avoiding is still there to use.

Crouch walking works well in Free Roam as well, sneaking up on bounties such. Your posse will see you regardless, though.

Hardcore gametypes will be interesting.

I think I've found a good spot if anyone ever wants to rack up a high bounty on themselves.

In Blackwater, look for a hotel called "Althewaye Inn". There is a photographers a few buildings down from it, it looks like a wooden shack with "Photographers" painted on it. Climb up the side of it, jump over to the next building and, finally, climb onto the roof of the Althewaye Inn. It has a big roof with a 360 view of the area, a blindspot in the center to regen health easily and 2 signs that can be used as cover. The police and civilians can't reach you up there unless you let them shoot you. I managed to rack up my highest bounty from that spot.
With a posse, the bounty would get very high in no time.

A weird thing happened in SP and I don't know what it was all about. It seemed like a random event but at the same time, it didn't.
On the cliffs that over looks the San Luis River, south of Mescalero (in Henning's Stead), a guy in a suit and top hat was standing at the edge, not doing anything. I went over to him and he said "I've been waiting for you." and "I know who you are, Marston." and I can't remember the exact 3rd phrase but I think it was "You haven't changed.".
I couldn't interact with him at all and I didn't want to risk killing him incase it screws up something later on. He didn't have a blip on the minimap, either.

It was just weird. He had randomly turned up and I was never instructed to talk to him but he seemed to sound like he was an important character.

Kalyx, if you're still looking for rabbits, I see tons of them near the horse trails between Armadillo and the McFarlane ranch in the early morning. It's easier to spot them if you don't storm along and just trot by.

This game is extremely fun. This game along with Fallout 3 set the new standard for next gen games.

For open-world games, and even then Red Dead is essentially a Wild West GTA4 that corrected some multiplayer issues. Fallout 3 is similarly a post-apocalyptic Oblivion with enhancements. While both games benefit from modern tech, neither is really 'next-gen'. I can say Red Dead is a testament to how far gaming has come along. Fucking love it. Don't think anybody's gonna touch that in a while, unless it's R* themselves with the eventual GTA5.

Once you catch and break a horse in the wild you can then purchase it in the General Store. Pretty useful having a horses deed to, as I've been through about 5 of my Kentucky Saddlers so far.

Has anyone checked out the mounts that you get later on in multiplayer? It looks like you can get a bull and a couple types of Bison to ride. :eek:

i believe that mission gives the most xp, because it is a more difficult. Its very doable, and very easy with the right amount of people

Yeah, fuck hardcore. He who sees you first gets the lock-on and advantage, I'm comfortable with that now. The FPS controls while aiming doesn't jive with the 3rd person design.

The range for shotties are very strict. If it's not semi-auto or you getting a point-blank ambush, you will lose. Pistols are great, though.

Only played a couple hardcore games, but yeah, would like hardcore a lot more if it seemed like HP really was lower. Doesn't seem like it at all. If it was LEGIT hardcore, one-shot headshot, or two-shot body or something, I would like it more.

So the reason why those animals spawn like crazy in those areas are because they are a challenge you unlock later in the game. Kill waves of the same animal in that location, stronger type of that animal appears, kill it and challenge completed.

The range for shotties are very strict. If it's not semi-auto or you getting a point-blank ambush, you will lose. Pistols are great, though.

Yeah, I did that. This game was so good up until when you play as the son. I spent like 30 hours with John, and then he is taken away from me and I'm given this stupid boy who I pretty much don't know jack shit about. And I don't even know how many years have passed that this takes place. Hate this so much. Have zero motivation to go back to single player. This could have really been something special. :(

I think I prefer single player over multiplayer at this point. I did enjoy going round and clearing out different strongholds around the place with a mate last night. Did the mine one, got the stagecoach at the end then took it down the wrong path and ended on the mine cart track by accident. That was fun, bit like a rollercoaster.

I'm torn. On the one hand, Multiplayer is fun, especially free roam with a posse. On the other, the story's actually kind of compelling and interesting. Plus, there's poker and liar's dice in single player. Shit they seriously need to add to multiplayer.

I can't wait for the co-op missions and shit to be added.

There's a stranger quest that actually tells you to do it (Lights, Camera, action, I think), since the guy's wanted alive. I noticed when looking around today there's also a stat for shooting off hats in duels. I need to try that.

duels seem to be plentiful in Thieves Landing if you're a white hat. I've gotten like four there without trying and missed one because the guy who laid down the challenge was nowhere near me. And yeah, to whoever was talking about clitches in Thieves Landing, I've had the game bug out on me there. Horse getting stuck in scenery, getting called to a duel halfway across the town, floating whore....

Switching the option for steering from horse relative to camera relative helps. It's still a little clunky, but it's better.

Also, when I checked Rockstar's site this morning, there was a note that Outlaws to the End was out. It was right above the RDR "launch trailer" which used the phrase "Outlaws to the End" in it. I'm assuming since the latter is still up, it's not referring to the DLC, but there was a tag up where the review is currently. I'm assuming mistake.

Is there an actual release date yet? Other than "June."

Right, finally managed to have a decent play on this, totally loving this. Haven't had a go on multiplayer yet as I've just been hooked on single at the moment. Only annoying thing I've encountered is getting killed three times by that women who needs help with the bandits hiding behind the wagon. First time she fooled me, second and third I just rode past but still got blasted by the bandits.

Hunting is so much more fun than I thought, same with the bounty hunts.

So from what I read, the trick to knifing a bear is to shoot him 4 times with a Double Revolver first. Obviously any gun will work, but apparently the DR is a confirmed 4 shot method.

I always use dead eye for this.

Got the master hunter challenges done. Got a great tip for getting the special animals. In every area that a special animal inhabits, there is some kind of structure. Usually ruins. Doesn't matter if it has missing walls, the animals can't get inside. So you can just pick them off at your leisure.

Also got the 5000 dollar bounty challenge. There was a posse of people doing a gang hideout by the time I got done, so I traveled to the place with cannons to defend myself. But when I got there, my wanted status was gone.

Sucks that you can't go there with a bounty. Would be awesome to have a posse of people on gatling guns and cannons defending against other players looking for the money.

Just played some of the $100 buy-in poker in Blackwater and only had 1 empty seat. Wiped the floor with all of them. :cool: Was an 'intense' game.. some HUGE pots, some 3-way pots. I am not yet to that part of the map on my save, and I have the Gentleman's Attire so I want to see what 'high stakes' poker allows for.

Concerning the ending.

Have to say I kinda of like the way things went down at the end. John went out like a bad ass mother fucker taking as many with him as he could. Seems like a classic western ending. Don't mind playing as Jack either. Going to make him one sick bastard after playing it straight with John this whole time. Already on pretty evil start, as I killed Ross's wife, his brother, then unloaded about 15 rounds into Ross himself. I imagine the DLC coming out for this will involve Jack's three years that are unaccounted for, and his mothers death. G

I did the first irish mission and when I whistled for my horse after it wasn't the brown or the saddler it was my very first horse which is slow as hell. Any idea what happened here?

You don't need to re-buy the Saddler. Once you have the deed you can keep using it. Though you end up with so much money in this game, even the horses shouldn't be an issue.

Also, you get the lasso after like four of Bonnie's missions. That's like, .5% of the game. I don't even think it's a fifth of the way into the first region's missions.

In Blackwater, look for a hotel called "Althewaye Inn". There is a photographers a few buildings down from it, it looks like a wooden shack with "Photographers" painted on it. Climb up the side of it, jump over to the next building and, finally, climb onto the roof of the Althewaye Inn. It has a big roof with a 360 view of the area, a blindspot in the center to regen health easily and 2 signs that can be used as cover. The police and civilians can't reach you up there unless you let them shoot you. I managed to rack up my highest bounty from that spot.
With a posse, the bounty would get very high in no time.

As well as all that, the police go for cover at specific points so you always have a rough idea where they are or will be.

The top floor of the saloon in Armadillo is hands down the best place to get the 10 minute bounty. Get one other person, both of you sit inside, covering both entrances. Then you escape out the back.

Just finished the last of the single player challenges, and the one that was giving me the most problems was the rank 10 sharpshooter getting 6 disarms without reloading. What I did, was use the Mauser pistol (purchased in Blackwater) since it has 15 rounds. Now, everytime you use Dead Eye, your ammo refills and it even doesn't count as a reload. So, as long as you keep the left trigger held (to avoid an automatic reload) you should get this during your first few tries. I got it on my first try at the Tesoro Azul gang hideout. Make sure you have chewing tobacco or Moonshine just in case you need more Dead Eye.

I've been told that a good way to do it is bring up the aim. When you release the button, you bottom out at the right point to swing up and get it at the peak efficiency right around dead center of the meter.

Join us this Monday May 31st (that’s Memorial Day here in the US), when we’ll be unlocking all-new Shootout Multiplayer Playlists for Red Dead’s Competitive Modes. The Gang Shootout Multiplayer Playlist is all about gangs battling to the death. These will take place in Armadillo, Chuparosa, Tumbleweed and Hennigan’s Stead facing off against rival multiplayer gangs. Jump in alone and join up with a gang, or come in with your own posse of friends to take the other team down. For the Experts, we’ve also included a Hardcore Gang Shootouts Playlist. We’ll be shouting on Twitter and Facebook when we’re going online that day to have a go with you all.

This Saturday night, May 29th at Midnight Eastern and Pacific (check local listings), FOX will be exclusively airing an original short film made from Red Dead Redemption.

The 30 minute short film, created and directed by John Hillcoat (the director of The Proposition and The Road), chronicles a slice-in-time of protagonist John Marston as he tracks down his former fellow outlaw and friend, Bill Williamson. Along the way, Marston encounters many of Red Dead Redemption's eclectic cast of dreamers, misfits and liars.

Using the world of Red Dead Redemption as a virtual film studio and created entirely with in-game assets and technology, Hillcoat re-imagines Marston’s pursuit of justice and salvation.
