After the game, even Bynum was like "They weren't feeding me the ball".
If Kobe gets most of the glory when they win, he should get most of the blame when they lose. And not just Kobe, all superstar players.
This crowd is as rowdy as I've seen in Indiana, in a while.

Yeah, so the Magic fire StanVan and the GM.
Emperor Smeat
05-21-2012, 07:02 PM
Howard is going to look like a huge douche if he doesn't sign a long term deal now considering it was rumored that them firing Van Gundy would be a condition for him staying.
Them getting rid of the GM was a bit of a shock since he built them team pretty well and had a chance at the title in 2009. A few bad deals he made but the team still averaged 50+ wins a season for the past few years in a row and probably would have reached it if this season was a full one.
According to the agent for Jeremy Lin, huge chance Lin won't be on the team next year since the Knicks have made no offers nor shown any real interest to the agent. Knicks are hoping Lin's current contract gets approved under "Bird" rules so they can be allowed to go over the cap without any penalties.

Not saying he shouldn't be, or that they're about to be eliminated thanks to him, but I think Kobe's had enough of him.
Keith

Kobe Bryant in Game 5:
42 Points, 5 Rebounds, 2 Steals, 0 Assists.
That's ZERO assists.
Emperor Smeat
05-22-2012, 12:47 AM
Lakers would need to get Howard then since all of Kobe's rings came when the team had quality big men (Shaq for the 1st 3, Gasol for the 4th, Gasol/Bynum for the 5th).
Thunder getting the Lakers was their best case scenario considering had the Clippers won the division, its Thunder/Clippers and the Clippers were a lot tougher opponent for them during the season.
Kobe being a bit of a ball hog didn't help either but that's been his style for years like other big stars.

Can't say im shocked. Nobody who watched the NBA should be. Thunder deserved it, the Lakers had many occasions where they had the lead and blew it the entire series. Gasol will be gone next year, possibly Bynum too if the deal is good enough. Personally, id like to see Mike Brown gone...he never had control of this team, Kobe included.

Players Union about to get in deep trouble now that one of the US Attorneys is getting involved due growing allegations of Hunter spending union funds for friends and family and using his status to get rid of anyone who opposed his decisions.
The one that really started the mess was him trying to disband the retiree association because they were staunch opponents of him and the previous executive director while Derek Fisher as the players president supported retired players and their benefits. Hunter supposedly managed to get the union to drop payments for this year to pension fund by using union funds to pay off lawyers and other stuff without telling the other members of the board.

Oh good grief. First ESPN has a special about Lebron and where he was going to go, and now they're going to do the same damned thing for Dwight Howard. FFS, ESPN, don't you have anything better to do? Like you know, maybe the National Spelling Bee Championship or the World Series of Rock, Paper, Scissors?
SlickyTrickyDamon
05-23-2012, 10:27 PM
By doing it for Labron they have to do it for any marque free agent or they will be seen as for only doing it for Labron.
Which they did, but they can't admit that they did that.
Ermaximus
05-23-2012, 10:36 PM
So you're telling me that Steve Nash should get an ESPN special too? How about Luol Deng? Maybe Pau Gasol?

If ESPN doesn't want to be known for just doing it for Labron, yes. They know they made a mistake doing it for Labron, but they won't admit it.
So, the only thing for them to do is not admit making a mistake. Which means doing it for more players.
Emperor Smeat
05-23-2012, 10:45 PM
Probably the ugliest shooting game all playoffs so far for the Cs and now they have to worry about a motivated Sixers team for Game 7. They have a nasty habit of letting the first chance of ending a series get away from them ever since the Big 3 formed.
So if Howard says he wants to take his talents to South Beach, does he leave the room and come right back in since Orlando is closer to the place than Miami?

Heat win Game 1 without Bosh, and with Wade taking all fucking day to get into the game. I'm amazed to see the way the disparity in athleticism between these two.
It also hurts me to see Ray Allen struggle through this injury. I want to remember him as Jesus Shuttlesworth, but missing free throws, and three pointers is seriously tarnishing him right now. The NBA Finals between the Heat and Spurs is going to be interesting. The Heat have been dominating the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals and the Spurs have been doing the same to the Thunder in the West.
If these two teams keep it up, it should make for an explosive finals, because they will go head-to-head with no doubt that they are the two most dominant teams in each conference.

Hate to be Micheal Jordan right now, one of the greatest players ever who also owns the record for worst losing season as an owner of a team and now lost out on having the Unibrow as something to rebuild the disaster known as the 2011/2012 Bobcats.
Something like only 4 actual league worst teams have managed to win it since the lotto started (not counting when the #1 picks were traded away).
Seriously thought the Nets would have been #1 considering they are moving and the Unibrow would have been something huge to market the team in Brooklyn. Then looked up and found out they traded their draft pick earlier in the season.

Lakers possibly trade Andrew Bynum for Hornets potential draft pick of Anthony "Unibrow" Davis with a bunch of other players to be added on both sides to beef up the deal.
The other big rumor is Bynum for Brook Lopez and Devon Williams with maybe some players added on both sides to beef up the deal.

Heat managed to go up 2-0 but had the Cs won, this would have gone down as one of the legendary playoff wins in Cs history with how beast-like Rondo was today.
Rondo's stats:
16 for 24 (career-high in made), 10-12 FTs (career high I think), 10 assists, 44 points (career-high), 53 minutes (career high)
Bill Simmons on Twitter was basically going off during most of the 4th and OT. The biggest complaint by him was the combined fouls of Wade and Lebron was just 4 (2 in regulation) while Wade got away with a slap to Rondo's head and kicking KG in the nuts during a shot (KG got the foul for that one).

If these two teams keep it up, it should make for an explosive finals, because they will go head-to-head with no doubt that they are the two most dominant teams in each conference.

Yeah, the Knicks and Pacers would have beaten the Heat otherwise, I'm sure. Fact is, if you have two guys like Lebron and Wade who drive to the rim a lot, they're going to get hacked. It's not as if they're being given free throws from taking 25 jump shots.

It would probably be Bosh since he's been "trashed" by everyone ever since the Heat's Big 3 formed. They really can't get rid of Wade since he's the "face of the franchise" and Lebron's image would take a huge hit if he's the one tossed out.
The weird thing is Miami really doesn't do much with him except have him grab some rebounds since their entire offense revolves around Lebron or Wade with the ball. The advantage the Cs have in the series is they have a whole offensive set to revolve just around KG when needed and don't need Rondo or Pierce to be involved except for passing the ball to KG.

Lebron hinted the team and himself in general is starting to get tired which could play a huge role if they were to advance to the Finals while the Celtics making sure the Graden is uncomfortable for the Heat during pre-game warm ups.
They set the stadium's temperature to the 50s just to try to disrupted the Heat's warmups since they are not used to cold courts. Might have even placed a sheet of ice for hockey underneath the court just for this game like it normally is during the season for Bruins games.

Now I don't know what to do Saturday night. Either watch the Heat vs Celtics Game 7, or the Pacquiao fight. Decisions.

Pacquiao-Bradley fight itself is getting delayed until the end of the Heat vs Cs game so no need to decide.
Either Pac's manager or himself made the request and it got approved considering Pac is a Cs fan and wants to see the game on tv. Nobody bothered to ask Bradley but he didn't care in the end.
