Haha such a "F.U." move by Pacquiao. He'll request to delay the fight so he can watch the basketball game, then he'll fight Bradley, and after all that, he'll probably do a concert (as he's done in the past).

Bosh playing like a maniac from the bench.
Pretty sure it was more of a new arena deal than the fans not caring.
Did the arena thing never even go to a vote?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seattle_SuperSonics_relocation_to_Oklahoma_City
I do not feel like reading this whole thing, but here you go
I think there is a documentary and a Grantland article that blames the whole issue between 3 things:
1) Stern having one of his "buddies" buy the Sonics with no intention of keeping them there.
2) City and state was unwilling to pay hundreds of millions again for a new stadium due to the Seahawks just had their stadium built.
3) Howard Schultz while good as an owner of Starbucks was a complete dumbass as a sports owner.
watched this a week or so ago, if you can look past the to-be-expected bias, it's very interesting

Heat vs Thunder for the finals but that 4th Q had a lot of BS. Cs problem besides Lebron being a FT machine was poor 2nd halves which is something they had issues with the past 2-3 years in the playoffs.
Most likely the Cs Big 3 Era is over with Garnett considering retirement and Allen leaving/retiring. 3 East Conference Finals, 2 NBA Finals, 1 title in a 5 year span.
Rondo had another playoff triple double but all the talk will be about Lebron's stats mimicking Wilt and Baylor's stats against the Cs.
Pacquiao probably going to beat the shit out of Bradley tonight for their boxing match considering he delayed the fight in order to root for the Celtics.

Lebron's worst case scenario is Durant winning the title before him because then Durrant becomes the top star of the NBA and the new "King" since he would have earned it unlike James who was labeled both ever since he arrived in the NBA.
Heat also won't be able to last in this series if Wade continues to struggle like he did for most of the Celtics series.

I trust that Lebron is so good, he won't let the Heat lose this series.
Ditto.
The Heat have to play 4 quarters, though. For almost 3 quarters, they were good. But OKC dominated the 4th. Even then, Miami stuck around, down by anywhere from 4 to 6 points before it got out of hand.
After losing last year's finals, I just don't see Wade, Bosh and LeBron letting it happen again.
Ermaximus

Early ratings are in and Game 1 managed to become the highest ever NBA Finals on ABC for a Game 1 match. 10% increase from last year's Game 1.
Hype and ratings-wise for the entire playoffs are down a bit compared to last year though.

And we still have to see what happens in the 4th quarter.
Lebron is in ” I won't let us lose ” mode. I've seen it live in the playoffs during game four against Indy. Its nasty.

Miami played great, but OKC still had a chance. I dunno..Im sticking with OKC
Keith
06-15-2012, 01:00 AM
Two ways you can look at this: Miami was able to withstand another late run by OKC and win the game, which should build up their confidence and give them all the momentum as the series goes back to Miami.
Or, Miami just barely held on after having big leads throughout the whole game, so even though they won, they should be worried.
Sepholio
06-15-2012, 01:04 AM
I dunno, the fact that Miami held on after losing a huge lead in game 1 has got to be a boost to them. And either way, taking one on the road in OKC with that crowd support is epic. OKC fans are incredible. Been along time since i have heard noise like that and they get it there damn near every game.
Keith
06-15-2012, 01:07 AM
Holy shit, games 6 and 7 (if necessary) will be in OKC.
So Miami better do their thing at home.
Crimson
06-15-2012, 01:14 AM
Yeah..I predict a 7 gamer ..doubt Miami will close up 3-2. They seem to let down after being up in a series. Looks like 7 games
I just can't see Lebron losing this series. I dealt with this stuff with Peyton Manning. Sooner or later, the cream rises to the top. I think its time.
Emperor Smeat
06-15-2012, 01:22 AM
Miami should be a bit worried that its now 2 games where they lost a pretty big lead and got lucky this time since the Thunder probably won't keep having bad starts or first halves.
Lebron is still doing way too much work so he'll eventually tire like he did last Finals against the Mavs which could benefit the Thunder if they can get the series back to OKC.

Apparently the Thunder lost last night because Westbrook took too many shots. God shut the fuck up.

Lebron is a generational talent that shouldn't be compared to Jordan or Kobe (unless you're talking about championships, and he's not in their level yet either). His skillset hasn't been seen since Magic Johnson or Oscar Robertson. The fact that he left a team in Free
Agency shouldn't have made him a villian, but I"m not willing to enter into that debate with anyone anywhere. He should be appreciated and cherished for his skillset and we should realize that the only thing that can Stop Lebron is his Hairline

All I'll say is that I agree with Charles Barkley when he said on Sunday night that no other superstar player in history has ever been asked to do everything that Lebron is expected to do every single night.
People expect him to be his team's leading scorer, people expect him to make all his free throws, people expect him to defend and stop the opposing team's superstar, people expect him to be clutch and take and hit all shots in the final moments of the game (if it's a game winner, even better) while, again, defending and stopping the other team's superstar in the final minutes.
Not even Jordan had all the pressure Lebron experiences every single game.

David Stern says the NBA is considering punishing flopping in the same way techs and certain fouls are reviewed and appealed after games. It won't be all flops but primarily those that end up having a real benefit or change the momentum of a game for the team that got away with it.
Probably won't really affect top stars like most of the other rules or else players like Wade would be getting a lot more fines and retroactive fouling outs.

Because this dipshit has put all of that attention on himself. He's the one who has come out and said that he is the best player in the league, that "if you want me to shoot, I'll shoot, if you want me to pass, I'll pass, if you want me to steal, block, dominate, anything, I'll do it," that "that means we're gonna win not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven, but multiple championships." He's the one who decided to have a fucking hour long show dedicated to himself. If he would have shut the hell up and not said all the stupid shit that he does, he wouldn't be under as much scrutiny as he is.

Jordan did need 6-8 years to earn the status as a mega star he eventually became unlike Lebron who was granted the title of "King" and the next Jordan before he even played a game in the NBA.
Wade won a ring before Lebron but even isn't at the same status as Lebron until last year when Lebron joined to form Miami's Big Three. He had maybe 1-2 years where he could be considered a mega star but then got pushed to the side around the time of the Cs forming their Big 3 and the focus of the dream Lebron vs Kobe Finals.
To be fair a lot of players were given the same treatment mostly due to the achievements Jordan did as a player and Stern himself pushed for the league to focus just on the top stars instead of teams after Jordan retired in 1998/99.

According to Danny Ainge, Garnett is deciding between coming back for 1 final year with the Celtics and retirement. He's a free agent this year but doesn't appear he wants to play for anyone else.
Wiz and Hornets made a trade deal where Wizards get Emeka Okafor and Trevor Ariza while the Hornets get Rashard Lewis and Washington's 2nd round pick in this year's draft.

ehhh i'm from Cleveland and I really don't think so. Lebron is young he wants to party and i'll tell you from a Clevelander standpoint there isn't anything really our city offers. All of the business up here are going down South, we have a high crime rate, the weather sucks, and the city is gross. A lot of people forget that the NBA is a business and that basketball is Lebron's job and how he gets paid. It's not right that he kind of gave up in the most important situation(Boston series) which is why i understand that would give a lot of people a reason to hate him. I just don't think Lebron really betrayed anybody or anything and that people think he did is wrong. It's just like saying you work for a company and they give you decent pay and they are a fairly decent company as far as being highly regarded goes, then another company comes in and offers you way more money in a better system. You can't tell me you wouldn't take that because if you wouldn't then there might be something wrong with you.

Took 'em to the Finals, though. He did all he could there, time to move on.
Perhaps go coach the Celtics or something.

NBA gives the Celtics Oklahoma's 2nd round pick for next year as partial compensation from the 2011 trade that sent Perkins to OKC and Jeff Green to Boston (as well as 2 others).
I assume since ESPN didn't make it clear its due to the Thunder failing to disclose Green's medical condition during trade talks and the Cs only found out last season when Green had to miss an entire year with a heart ailment.

OKC should get compentsated for Perkins' non existent offense

LOL I hadn't listened to Dan Le Batard's "Heat Championship Rant".
Pure gold.
"Oklahoma is known for tornadoes that blow everything around, Miami is known for women who do that!"
"Oklahoma has tons of natural gas, Miami has so much more artifical ass!"

:| Anthony Davis trying to trademark his Unibrow and not just some slogans but his actual unibrow.
ESPN just reported minutes ago on their website that the Lakers are willing to trade Gasol but the asking price is steep. They want at the minimum a Top 10 draft pick for tomorrow's draft and an established player for any deal to be made. Also want the team who gets Gasol to pay the remaining money owed since they won't or hinted they won't.
Lakers also willing to trade Ron Artest if nobody wants Gasol.

So there are rumblings that Ray Allen may in fact go to Miami?
Huh.
Crimson

Allen is a good fit there.
And what are the lakers smoking they want an established and a top 10..that's too much for a rebuilding team wanting an aging player.
