I tried something and it worked. Turn on performance mode and no fail mode. Then go into solo vocal only and it will play the songs just like jukebox mode promised. You can just watch and listen.

You playing on expert? I'm on hard in World Tour. I'm afraid that once I get to the hard songs, it will say I need to step up the difficulty. I can play easier songs on expert, but the hard ones I have trouble.
Yeah, but I havn't done much in world tour yet. I've been doing challenges to unlock everything, since it's faster.

Got my Drumrocker kit in, but I have like ten minutes to get ready to go out to an appointment, and it's only aboot 80% complete. This always seems to happen.
It LOOKS pretty sexy, though. It's also gotten some good reviews from both VG sites and musicians (Who admittedly say it's not a top end kit, but that should be a no-brainer....)

Hey Fry, if you're still gonna be on shortly, IM me. I shut down my system after I got done playing on someone else's band, and since I was an idiot and shut it off, I don't want to turn it back on unless I'm gonna be playing.

Just an fyi, but you can choose which venue you want to play in quickplay. But you have to turn the option to do so on, in game modifiers first. Discovered it by accident. Was wondering where the option was.

7/11, Gamestop... They come in 1600 and 5000(?) flavors.
I gotta say, the charts I've seen thus far are the best I've seen (and on two cases played) in my whole GH/RB experience. Laid back without being insulting, challenging without being obnoxious. Can't wait to own it.

Yeah, this is really dumb. I have like 170 songs between DLC and the Rock Band export, and a lot of people have almost none of them.
http://dlcquickplay.com/xbox/zacharyamaranth
This is the most I've ever spent on a toy, but there's so much good stuff.
If my friends come over here, we can play over 200 songs. If I play with them online, then we can play 80-ish or 130 with the export (If applicable).
It's kinda sad looking at my list in BWT, and seeing all this shit greyed out....:(

I love Doolittle as an album, but I'm not sure a non-Pixies fan should pick it up. The guitar parts are fairly easy, but the drums can get really difficult. And one of the songs (Silver) shouldn't even really be a song on Rock Band. I like the song, but it is a way boring play.

If you like the Pixies, definintely. If not, it depends. The Pixies are a very simplistic post-punk act, in that they have minimal arrangements. You won't find a lot of shredding or variation in the leads. The drumming is pretty damn good, though, and some of the songs on the record are amazing, whether or not they're easy (Debaser is easy as fuck on vocals, because it's all "talkie," But since it's oen of my fave songs, I don't care).
As mentioned, Silver sucks. It's so retardedly simple it's not funny, with the exception of machine gunning a few orange notes on guitar. Unlike Boomer, I was never a fan of it; I just picked it up because it's so much cheaper to just buy the one song you don't want in with the package.
A side note, Kim Deal's Breeders are on one of the rumoured lists for the 20 free DLC. Hope it's true. :D

Man, the Ion set is so much easier on my leg. I played two five song sets today without so much as a twinge in my shin or calf. The only problem is it's massively loud compared to Every fucking pedal I've used. I mean, the Omega Pedal uses a real beater, and it's STILL quiet compared to this.

As far as I can tell, you can. You just need to make sure to set it up on the online tour instead of the local. It'll allow you to press green on any given controllers before you select live players.

It would be awesome if you could play any song as long as the host had them, it would be very fair, as you could test out the song by playing with a friend before you buy it yourself.
And as I was typing that I had an epiphany, That WAS the original plan, Metallica wouldn't allow it as a stipulation in the rights to put their music on the game.

DAMN YOUSE, LARS! DAMN YOUSE TO HECK!

Anyway, I think it's more an issue of practicality. Most of these songs are upwards of 10 MB, and so it'd be a pain to stream to the other folks.

You know that Metallica ripped off a lot of their music from Exodus (Kirk Hammet's band before joining Metallica) and Jason Newstead after he left the band? So in effect some of Metallica is ripped off Megadeth, not the other way around.
You're a fan, do your homework.

It should be all RB2 songs in a particular order. To be able to play it, the requirements are to have at least 900 stars and pass the "Rolling Stone" gig.
Of course, if you can beat the Endless Setlist 2 without pausing and failing a song (a total fail, not just one band member failing), you'll obtain the "Bladder of Steel" Achievement. :D

IGN updated it:
The AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band Track Pack will be available in the U.S. on Nov. 2 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2 and on Nov. 16 on the Wii. All versions will retail for $39.88, except the PS2 version, which will be $29.88. Europe, Australia and New Zealand will also get the pack for all four consoles in December (priced in Europe at €39.99 for PS3/360/Wii and €29.99 for PS2, while gamers down under will see one simple $49.99AUD price tag on all versions.)
All the tracks will also be available for play in Rock Band and Rock Band 2 by entering a special export authentication code for Xbox 360 and PS3. No word on if any AC/DC tracks (live or otherwise) will be made available as downloadable content without purchasing the retail Track Pack.
The New York Times is reporting that the standalone game will be sold exclusively at Wal-Mart and Sams Club stores, but a news release sent to media today by MTV Games did not mention such an agreement.
After contacting MTV Games for clarification, the company confirmed that the release will be sold exclusively at Wal-Mart and Sam's stores.

Linkin Park still has that beat. I mean, they managed to release the same SINGLE 20 times and sell millions.
Anyway, I just loved that quote, because I can't think of a major Rock Band for which that is less true, even the current acts. Even folks like 3 Doors Down, who are basically known by their singles, could say that line without as much scrutiny.
Anyway, they've made the same collection of singles 20 times, and somehow keep selling millions.
I could go for individual tracks, but since we're not likely to get any, I'm not sure I'm gonna buy this.

BTW, in perspective, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith was a better deal in terms of cost per song. I know that in Rock Band you have four parts instead of two, but GHA is a full-featured game, whereas this is still just a track pack, even if you can play a feature limited version of it without RB1/2.

Apparently MTV Networks, owners of Harmonix, and Apple Corps Ltd, administrators of The Beatles releases of the 1960s, are holding a press conference tomorrow to make some announcement about an "exclusive agreement to develop a global music project."
The release lists a number of media contacts, including one of the main PR folks for Rock Band 2. This seems to back up what the Financial Times reported back in June. Though at the time it sounded like both Activision and Harmonix were wooing Apple Corps. Did Guitar Hero get the shaft or is another announcement, this one with Activision, hitting later this week? We'll update once we can needle out more official word.
Apple Corps Ltd. and MTV to Announce Exclusive Agreement to Develop Unprecedented Global Music Project
WHAT: Apple Corps Ltd. and MTV to announce an exclusive agreement to develop a global music project.
WHO: Jeff Jones, CEO of Apple Corps, Ltd.

Finally picked this up today.
My only question is could I rent the first one sometime, unlock the songs and then export them to Rockband 2?
Sounds stupid I know.

You don't need to "unlock" the songs. Just buy the export key, use the export option in RB1, and 55 RB1 tracks will instantly be available in RB2.

This could that 'ambitious project' one of the Beetles guys were talking about in Rolling Stone. I mean, it would have to be something greater than DLC packs for all this fuss to be made of it.
No it doesn't. It's the fucking Beatles and MTV. Hyperboyle central. I don't care if this circus is for half a DLC song, I'm so there.

Yep. For five bucks, you can export the songs. If you want to rent the disc to do so, you can do it.

The Beatles thing is it's own new game with "samples" of the entire Beatles library, going through the Beatles history. It is not a Rock Band game.
All the music will be the originals, not the re-release copies and imagery around The Beatles will be used throughout the game. No word on Rock Band exporting but they are saying it will be different to Rock Band, somehow.
Damn well I posted a thread in the fourm on the Beatles of well I can get bitched at for posting once in while I guess lol.

Just edit the title of the other thread, since it's not a Rock Band game anyways :)

Might get Hinder. Not a huge fan of the song, but it's only 80 mp.

I'd get FOB before Hinder.
I'd get FOB before Hinder.
I agree. Hinder is nothing more than a modern day 80's hair band.

There was a problem with the 20 free downloads.
Microsoft can't handle giving away that much free stuff.
We're now charging a nominal fee of $1.99 per song to cover Microsoft's costs.

From the official RB forum:
Hi Everyone:
The codes for the 20 free DLC on Microsoft will begin to go out this evening for redemption. Due to the volume of emails being sent, these will roll out over a 24 hour period. We appreciate your patience!
Thanks,
Harmonix.

From Harmonix:
We have hit an unexpected delay with getting the content online with Microsoft and are working diligently with them to get that resolved. We have suspended sending out the token codes until the content becomes available. Sending out the codes before the content is live will just result in more confusion. We hope to have this resolved in the next 24 hours and apologize profusely for the delay.
We're also working with Sony to get the content up on PS3 and the codes out. More on that as information becomes available.
Again, we apologize for the delay and are working our butts off to get the content out to you.

Most of them are mediocre to awful.
BTW, I can't help but laugh. After all the people bitched about this being M$'s fault, it's not set up for the PS3, either.
Think now we can just admit Harmonix fucked up?

Hey everybody,
I am very happy to announce here (before anywhere else) that next week's DLC offering will be the Foo Fighter's The Colour and the Shape album (one of my favorites). With “Everlong” already featured on the Rock Band 2 soundtrack, the DLC album will include the following tracks:
1. "Doll"
2. "Monkey Wrench"
3. "Hey, Johnny Park!"
4. "My Poor Brain”
5. "Wind Up"
6. "Up in Arms"
7. "My Hero"
8. "See You”
9. "Enough Space"
10. "February Stars”
11. "Walking After You”
12. “New Way Home”
The Colour and the Shape will be available for download starting November 11, 2008, for the Xbox®360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and November 13, 2008, for the PS3. Pricing will be $19.99 (1600 Microsoft Points) for the album, or $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) per track. All tracks are masters.
