Rumor has it that the "undisclosed illness" that had Kellen Winslow in the hospital and kept him out of the game tonight is complications from an STD.

Yea Romo hasn't been the same Romo as the 1st 3 games. The stats are fine and we have been spoiled yes. But you just gotta watch the games to notice those little things he has done wrong, fumbles, inaccurate passes, not scrambling like he would last year. But yea besides that he's done ok stats wise.

Colts are the best team in football. You all can bow down. Best offense. Reggie Wayne could snatch a shooting star out of the sky for a touchdown. He's better then your best reciever of all time pretty much. Mathis is a beast. Freeney = beast. Bob Sanders = gunna be beasting on your toughest negro.

Cowboys are on a roll..
From PFT:
With multiple Cowboys gone for multiple games after a devastating loss in the desert, the next challenge on the horizon for the franchise is the looming suspension of cornerback Pacman Jones.
Both Adam Schefter of NFLN and Chris Mortensen of ESPN have reported on Monday that a decision is coming within the next 24 hours.
And the kicker for Jones could be the involvement of alcohol in last week’s incident. Per Mort, one of Pacman’s conditions upon reinstatement was full compliance with the terms of any pending probation. Jones is on probation both for guilty pleas in Georgia and Nevada.
Probation arrangements commonly include a commitment to the avoidance of alcohol. Based on multiple media reports, Jones was drinking last week.
So that fact, if true, could provide the fuel for a suspension.
But that could be a tough sell for Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who said on Friday that it is “ridiculous” to even discuss a possible league-imposed suspension.
Still, it sure sounds as if Commissioner Roger Goodell is prepared to do whatever is necessary to address the problem.
“[T]his is a very important issue to me,” Goodell said during a Monday luncheon in Tampa. “And I agree, it is a privilege to play in the National Football League. And I believe that message has been clearly heard by our players and coaches and everybody associated with the NFL. And I believe Adam understands what’s expected of him. I am disappointed to hear that he was involved in something last week. We’ve been collecting the facts on that so I can make a judgment on that. . . . He knows he is running out of rope with respect to this. And if he’s not going to behave responsibly and reflect positively on the NFL, the Cowboys and himself, then he won’t play in the NFL.”
The comments drew “rousing applause,” according to Chris Harry of the Orlando Sentinel.
Goodell also threw a barb at Jones for his well-publicized attempt to change his name from Pacman back to Adam. When asked by a member of the audience about “Pacman Jones,” Goodell said, “What a shock. . . . And by the way, it’s ‘Mr. Jones’ now.”
In the league’s eyes, however, Jones’ name soon could be mud. Or dumbass. Or both.

People may start talking about the North NOW but before this weekend, it wasn't a question.
New Orleans was underachieving and Atlanta was looking decent but people were still unconvinced.
Whereas between the 4 teams in the East coming into this weekend had lost a total of ONE game to a team outside the division and all 4 teams were being talked about as serious contenders in the NFC.

I was laughing at the Cowboys woes and you brought up that I said that people who picked against the Saints in the NFC South were idiots.. Way to own me by bringing up something completely irrelevant..
#1-norm-fan
10-14-2008, 09:07 PM
It wasn't irrelevant at all.

It's called context.

You quoted yourself more than you quoted me, and no it wasn't relevant because it had nothing to do with the subject at hand.. It was completely random and offtopic.. That is not the best way to "own" someone in an argument..

Instead of quoting what I JUST said about context, or explaining how when I quoted myself I was showing the arguments that shut you the fuck up in the first place, or even discussing how you claimed that I called the NFC East the best division in football "best division in football" being in quotations, meaning I would THEN have to teach you the meaning of quotations...

Good because I'd hate to think of us fueding.
The thing is, any given Sunday, anybody can win. For the past 5 weeks, it's been the NFC East where the action has been. then week 6 happened. Can't be helped. Now week 7 is coming up and we'll see where the action ends up. Might be the NFC East, might be the NFC South, might be the AFC east or something. It's just the nature of the sport.
And if you ever lump me in with #1 wwf-fan again I swear to god I will go Hurricane Katrina on your ass.

Saints Re-Sign DE Jeff Charleston
NewOrleansSaints.com
Tuesday, October 14, 2008 - 5:00 PM
New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Tuesday that the club has signed free agent defensive Jeff Charleston and terminated the contract of wide receiver Terrance Copper.
Charleston, 6-4, 265 pounds, is in his second season in the NFL. He first signed with the Saints as a free agent last Wednesday, practicing with the team before being waived Saturday. The product of Idaho State originally broke into the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Houston Texans in 2006 before being waived at the conclusion of training camp. He signed with the Indianapolis Colts on January 4, 2007 and went on to play in 13 regular season games with the Colts last season, making three starts. Charleston has accumulated 42 career tackles, one sack, two pass defenses and a forced fumble in regular season play and also appeared in the Colts’ AFC Divisional Playoff game last season.
Copper, a fifth-year wide receiver, has been with the Saints since being claimed off waivers from the Dallas Cowboys prior to the 2006 season. In 35 regular season games with New Orleans, Copper caught 38 passes for 511 yards and five touchdowns and added 15 tackles on special teams. The East Carolina alum played in two postseason contests with the club, catching four passes for 32 yards. This season, Copper played in five of the team’s six games but did not record a reception.

Nothing special. Poor mans Chad Bratzke. Was pretty average at everything. Hence why he was waived by your team saturday and then resigned. Mostly used just to fill depth. I'm guessing you had a DE or two get hurt maybe? He got most of his action last year cause Freeney went down for the year.

But we've had two DT's go down and they've been hinting at moving Grant down to DT on pass rushing situations with McCray coming in at DE.. I'm guessing they just need depth for rotation throughout the games..

My only question is are they gonna keep Alexander after the year is up and Betts is healthy. Having Portis, Betts, and Alexander on one team might make a devestating one, two, three punch.
Course...that only means anything if Alexander actually can play the way he did before he got hit with the Madden Curse.

Haslett admits being wrong when deciding between Brooks and Delhomme.
Jim Haslett, the new head coach of the St. Louis Rams and former head coach of the New Orleans Saints, admitted to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in a story that has actually been published in the Charlotte Observer, that he was 'hard-headed' and made a mistake by not playing then-backup Jake Delhomme in 2002 as the Saints competed for a playoff spot.
See the story in the Charlotte Observer
Instead, Haslett opted to stay with an obviously-injured Aaron Brooks, drawing the ire of the fans and some questioning by the media.
Haslett, who is currently the head coach of the Rams and who is trying to convince the Rams' owners to keep him through the 2009 season.
Delhomme went on to become a starting quarterback for the Carolina Panthers, taking them to a Super Bowl, while Aaron Brooks struggled for a few more seasons before leaving the Saints, having an uneventful stint with the Raiders and then leaving the NFL.

If they say yes, I'll give him points and respect in my book.
I respect him wanting to play but apparently if he does play he risks the pinkie becoming a displaced fracture which would force him into season-ending surgery.
Just give it time. If we get blown out by St. Louis then this discussion of whether he should play or not can take place.

METAIRIE, LOUISIANA (TICKER) —The New Orleans Saints look like they will be quite healthy for Sunday’s NFC South showdown against the Carolina Panthers.
Wide receiver Marques Colston, tight end Jeremy Shockey and running back Reggie Bush all practiced Friday and are expected to play this weekend.
The return of Colston, who has not played since the season opener due to a thumb injury, would be the biggest addition. The Pro Bowler has caught 168 passes for 2,240 yards and 19 touchdowns.
Shockey would return to the lineup after missing the last three games with a sports hernia. The brash Shockey has caught 16 passes for 151 yards in three contests this season.
Bush, who has been limited in practice this week, has been experiencing swelling and soreness in his left knee throughout the season. However, the former Heisman Trophy winner is off to a big start, accounting for a league-leading eight touchdowns in six games.
New Orleans (3-3) enters Sunday’s game in last place, but just one game back of Carolina (4-2), Atlanta (4-2) and Tampa Bay (4-2).

Alright, first of all, fire DC Bob Slowik.
Cut all safeties. Lowry, Manuel, McCree and who the fuck ever else. Call up Josh Barrett and re-sign John Lynch and Hamza Abdullah.
Bench Boss Bailey. He gets hurt just WAY too much. He's seriously been hurt about an average of two times PER GAME. No joke. Start Wesley Woodyard in his place.
I know I'm one of the few who think so, but the CBs are fine.
On d-line, in the middle needs to be Robertson and Peterson. Just leave it at that. On the ends rotate Dumervil, Thomas, Moss and Ekuban.
And for fucks sake, move Spencer Larsen back to safety where he belongs. Shanahan said he loves his energy and how hard he hits on special teams, so he starts him at FULLBACK over Peyton Hillis, who was doing an amazing job as it was. Just retarded.
On offense, cut Andre Hall. He's marginal at best. Sign a couple FAs, shouldn't be too hard to find a decent fit among them. Then keep Pittman as the starter, rotate Selvin in occasionally. When Torrain gets healthy, use him and Pittman.
WRs, just sign Chad Jackson. They tried him out, sign the fucker already.
All else, while not much, is fine.
I know I just Madden'd the depth chart, but Christ, when your defense is giving up 200+ rushing yards and allowing 75% completion every game, something desperately needs to be done.

I'm pretty sure the people on this board could make up Denver's defense and play just as well and we'd play for less. Maybe that's the way to go. I was supposed to be in London right now with Reggie but we had to cancel our trip. The Saints have a game there this Sunday, but unfortunately Reggie will not be playing.
In the game against the Carolina Panthers, Reggie injured his left knee and needed surgery. When I saw him limp off the field my heart dropped!
All that has mattered is that Reggie is going to be okay! And he is okay!
I immediately caught a plane to Alabama, where the best surgeons were to meet Reggie. He is recovering great and will be back on the field soon!
He's pretty bummed that the special birthday he planned in London couldn't happen, but as long as he is okay, I will have the best birthday ever!!!!

What the fuck are the Browns doing? They've suspended Kellen Winslow for his comments about the organization. GM Phil Savage says it's because Winslow went against the team-first attitude of the organization. Bullshit, Phil.
Winslow was obviously frustrated because he got a staph infection for the second time from somewhere in the Browns' facilities where they have a history of this and was asked to keep quiet about it by the organization. That and no one from the organization ever checked on him when he was in the hospital. So he complains about how the Browns organization, specifically Savage, doesn't care about their players and he gets suspended.

Eat a dick..
Wasn't steroid, you fucking shithead, it was diuretics.. "Water pills" to maintain hydration while cutting water weight.. It has been reported that some of the 10 players to get busted, have sipulations in their contracts about maintaining a certain weight.. They keep saying that NFL players take them to cover up steroid use, but why would they take a banned substance to cover up another banned substance?? Make absolutely no sense, specially since Goodell changed it to were ANY banned substance gets you a minimum 4 games suspension.. Atleast Deuce and Smith will play Sunday, due to the appeal, but when Hollis Thomas got popped for asthma meds, he had been taken his whole (at that time) 11 year career, and was perscribe by a team doctor, even the smallest missunderstandings of the rules can bite you in the ass..
But you being an idiot about it, attempting to talk shit did make me feel better..
Thanks..

I know, it's just a shitty situation.. It wasn't steroids, but it was one of the "gray area" things that happened to be on the banned list.. Thing is, there pills in question were advertised as an "all natural" diuretic, which is pretty much like drinking cranberry juice or vitamin B-12.. The reason they are saying it's used to cover up other drugs is cause it makes you pee.. Meaning you can clean your system out quicker with them, than without.. If that is the reason they are banned, this is super gay..
I don't care what the NFL is saying, this has to be a newest thing cause why else would they all of a sudden find over 10 players using it??
Weird..

Yeah, I hate situations like this. I know what you mean. I would be pissed too. Especially since the Saints have had enough injuries as it is.

Yeah, that too..
I mean, had this happened week one, it wouldn't have been that big of a deal since Deuce only carried the ball twice the first 4 weeks.. But now, Reggie is hurt so this is a major blow.. No running game, no play action and that's what our offense thrives on..

It's some douchebag on the internet you don't even know. If you know what he's saying is ignorant and wrong, then he is clearly an ignoramous, and doesn't even deserve a response.
That said, try:
