Got the new OXM, and they have a good article on the co-op mode. Love OXM, btw. Only gaming mag now that EGM is gone, that consistantly has info I havn't seen on the net.

Apparently Co-op mode is not some tacked on mode like in WaW, and is so big it is actually it's own seperate game. 23 different missions using rearranged versions of the sp maps, to suit whatever game type it is.

Coop is called SpecOps, actually. Game types:

Assault: Sends you through a level to take down a target in a certain time frame, while avoiding civilians.

Stealth: Sneaking past everyone

Wave Defense: Horde/Firefight type mode

Elimination: Drops you in a level with a set number of respawning enemies, and you have to kill them all.

But there's more to it than that. There are lots of neat ideas that are thrown into these missions to spice things up and add to the experience. I'll put them in spoilers just in case some people don't want the surprise ruined, but two of the moments mentioned were:

One person laser tags things on the ground for another player who is in an AC-130 Gunship. Another section of co-op actually has you working against your partner in a snowmobile race.

After watching a series of multiplayer videos, I'm as excited for this as I have ever been for any game. November needs to hurry the fuck up.

I heard that this game is gonna have it's own variation of WaW nazi zombie thing. Which sounds great, and can only imagine how fun that will be. Another thing I would love for this one to have is WaW's unlockable Custom Weapon slots. Thought that was pretty cool, and actually gave you something for going through all the trouble of prestiging multiple times, besides a crummy old medal.

Some weapon classes are dependent on it.(shotgun, knifing, etc.) Plus if your using stopping power than they basically just cancel each other out. Do you dislike stopping power too? As they're cut from the same cloth of sorts really.

September 28, 2009 - Fans hoping for an early taste of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 through a demo will be sad to know one isn't coming.

Developer Infinity Ward currently has "no plans" on releasing any type of demo for players to try before they buy, saying the team will use the extra time spent adding final touches to the retail game.

"The entire team is focused on polish all the way up to ship of the full game," the studio announced on its Twitter.

Infinity Ward made it known last month the studio was not preparing to do a public multiplayer beta, either.

Modern Warfare 2 ships on November 10 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Steady Aim pro=Iron Lungs

Last Stand pro=Can use equipment when in Last Stand (I gotta believe getting someone with a throwing knife in this situation is extremely satisfying). There's also a deathstreak called Final Stand, in which you can use your primary weapon.

There's some confusion about One Man Army. Some say that the regular version allows you to switch classes without respawning, while the pro version is 2 primary weapons. Some say it's the other way around. Either way, the class changing thing could be extremely broken.

I'm gonna love being a ninja in this game. SMG+Silencer (possibly +heartbeat sensor), Machine Pistol+Silencer, Marathon/Bling, Cold Blooded, Ninja. Silent destruction.

The more I think about it, the more I'm overwhelmed by the amount of customization that will be possible. Amazing. I've seen people bitching that there aren't enough perks, which is hilarious when you consider pro versions and the fact that a lot of perks are now attachments.

GameStops in Northeastern states such as New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio are selling Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 early, granted special dispensation from Activision due to street-breaking mom-and-pop stores.

Here in Atlanta we still have to wait until Monday's midnight launch to pick up Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but lucky folks in several Northeastern states are getting their copies earlier. According to a GameStop employee I spoke to in Bowling Green, Ohio, Activision granted certain area stores special permission to sell the game early, in order to stem the tide of lost customers picking their copies up early from local mom and pop stores.

The employee actually greeted me with "Thank you for calling GameStop, where you can pick up Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2." Calls to my local GameStop stores were greeted with claims of jealousy and invitations to come by Monday night to pick up my copy. Dammit.

Thanks to C & C Games for sending us a copy of their receipt, and everyone in New York and Pennsylvania who sent in tips. Lucky bastards.

Played this last night due to a friend who works at a movie gallery. I only played 4 player, offline multiplayer cause we had four people over, but it was fantastic.

I dig on that you can create a class, do challenges, and level up for your own individual offline profiles. I play a lot with just the people I have over and not online, and this is perfect for my group of friends.

So I've played a few hours. I guess I'm about halfway through the campaign? It's awesome. So epic. Well worth setting aside a few hours from multiplayer to check it out.

As for multiplayer, predictably awesome. There's so goddamn much to unlock that I almost feel like it's too big. I can't decide how I feel about the maps yet. Some of them seem too big, but that may just be because I haven't got the full feel of them yet. Feel like most of the maps favour long range combat over close quarters, which makes SMGing or shotgunning a little tough at this point. Oddly, I've not encountered too many snipers yet. Seems like everyone is favouring Assault Rifles.

But yeah it's sexy.
