Either way, THQ (or whoever) needs to fix their censoring. Use regular expressions instead of plain text searches. Why is "shit" censored mid-word, but not "ass"? (pass, mass, lass, etc.)

I can't remember what I said but I saw nothing that could be offensive. No iffy abbreviations or anything questionable/sneaky like "car seat". I think it's random for some dumb reason.

Completed the first month of my Finlay RTWM. Up to the Rumble. It took 5 hours with just that month due to tweeking and testing and shit. But it's pretty damn fun to watch your creations come to life.

I even have the familiar RTWM "challenges" where before the match I show the exit door and have Finlay explain what he must do. Coming along pretty nicely.

They suck horribly because its like one match with a guy and then shows who your next opponent is....and then it ends for the next story. Just one match and thats it.

An update on the hacks:
Someone was able to hack the PS2 and Wii version and add full characters, with their movesets and not replacing any other characters apparently. The only thing missing is their titatrons apparently. Seems the Xbox and PS3 are taking longer since hacking those is much more complex.

Apparently, people have figured out how to use all the empty character slots in the game. Any game in the SVR series is fair game. Titatrons, movesets, some of the entrances, etc are included. Some people have even figured out how to edit outfits..I can't wait for the final tutorial to get out.

So fucking pissed with myself that I couldn't find anything to do with Create-A-Story other than blatantly rip off the already available THQ created story "WWE Rewind", which took matches from several PPV's of '08 and early '09 and did like a year in review type thing. Sorta doing that only in chronological order (Jan.-Dec. '09) with one match from each PPV. UGH.:nono:

Eh, except I have the PS2 version, I had to rent the XBox 360 version from my local video store, as my bro doesn't play any wrestling vid games, and besides that we also don't have anywhere near enough stuff for hooking up to XBL.

Anyway, it doesn't require that much work, just start a new story, open up with one of the 3 weekly shows, choose a match from, let's say, for argument's sake, the Royal Rumble (2009 of course).

I did a brief 10-second little show-intro sketch with one of the commentators "Welcome!"-ing the viewers, and then added another scene on the same show where the commentators set up the match.

I then proceeded to note everyone in order in the Rumble besides RVD and Hacksaw, substituted Primo and Jackson for those two rather than try to painstakingly re-created them from scratch. I set Orton at his entry, #8, made him the user's wrestler for the match, and put the "Proceed Condition" or whatever the fuck it's called, to Win, then saved and previewed.

So far, I've just gotten done with the WM 25 match scenario (HBK v. Taker naturally), I just use the requirements to have it where in order to proceed to the next moment, you have to actually win or lose in the way it happened at the PPV's to advance.

Oh, well, at least me and a couple of my friends should have fun with it. :)

So I'm having a hard time getting the CS achievements. I mean I've gone in like 4 times defending the WWE title, playing as Orton, on Legend, I get the first fall, then I don't allow any other falls or submissions, time runs out, I win, and I don't get the achievements.

It's upset me to the point of extreme, run-on sentences.

For "And STILL Champion..." (Defend a Title in a Championship Scramble match on Legend difficulty [100G]), all you have to do is go in with any title, with the game's difficulty set to Legend, and basically make sure you enter 1st (you can select your entry order in a CS, just like in the Rumble) and get a quick, early pin or submission, or that you can get a pin or submission that will guarantee you are going to get the last counted pin or submission before time runs out.

For "Ahead of the Pack" (Win as tentative Champion from start to end in a Championship Scramble [50G]), all you have to do is get the very first pin or submission (this one can be done on any difficulty, btw, not just Legend), and make sure you don't let anyone else score a pin or submission the whole entire rest of the match.

Those may seem pretty difficult, but they actually aren't.

Yeah, every time you choose CHAMPIONSHIP SCRAMBLE from the match list on the main menu, you are taken to a 6-character wrestler select screen. When you have selected a wrestler it asks you to choose your entry order, and you choose from either RANDOM, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6.

I just did this match for the achievements today. I went to the settings, changed the difficulty to legendary. Edited it so that Foreign Weapons and Finishers do extra damage. Edited it so AI is less likely to reverse moves. Went to the Championship Scramble, did a 10 minute one. Came in as number 1, used a weak CAW as number 2 spot and filled other spots with weak opponents. Grabbed the ring bell since it doesn't disappear. Proceeded to beat the shit out of my CAW and got a pinfall before the next guy came out. From then on I just fucked around doing whatever, breaking up pinfalls and such. Got the two achievments for defending the title or whatever, and winning on legendary no problem.

No. Anytime you or anyone else makes a successful pin or submission on another wrestler in the match, a buzzer will sound and the announcers will refer to whoever got the pin or submission as the "current champ" or "interim champ" or some shit like that.

Nope. There's backstage brawls but they are limited to the backstage. You can't go backstage from the ring or vice versa.

Yeah it's weird with the slower machines they were able to make a whole virtual map. In the later Smackdown PSX/PS2 series : You could travel out of the arena to the subway and end up at WWF New York.

My favorite moments were hooking up the Ps2 with one, or two controller extenders and have like a 6 person time limit title match for the WWF hardcore title it was intense.

I don't remember much of that interactivity in No Mercy in that sensethough, I felt that you could have a barfight match but it had to stay in the bar, or a locker room fight but also it had to stay where it was.

No, I knew it was ending with the table spot, because there was no ladders at all under any part of the apron, just the usual culprits peppered about (chairs under 2 aprons, sledgehammer, barbed wire bat, title belt next to timekeeper). I just found it to be irritating, especially since, at least on PS2, the split-second you trigger the table finisher, the announcers talk about you putting your opponent through it 2 seconds or so before the animation even completes. The last laugh was on the game itself though, because I got "inducted" into the Hall of Fame right after that match.

And I don't know if it would have made a difference, probably not, but I had the table set up in one of the turnbuckles.

Get a friend to help you. Make your friend do the diving attack over and over again until you manage to reverse it.

Yeah I did the entire thing except for the diving with only me against the computer. Then I decided I'd see if two controllers would work... I wound up being a little irritated that I didn't do that earlier.

But as far as it not checking off... I figured out that you gotta wait until the stupid thing has the pop up to tell you that you're about to do it. I had to do a couple of things 3 times just cause it wouldn't register cause I did it too fast or something.

But I finally completed everything and all the accomplishments on the game. Now I dunno what to do with it.

SvR '09, and SvR '10 are my personal top 5...clearly the best...sure there's been a couple of sucky titles...(JBI, with the exception of having the distinction of being the only game in the series where there's an "8-Man" mode [Deathmatch, I think...], but it gets to be a clusterfuck pretty fast even so...probably why we still haven't seen the return of the max. number of wrestlers on screen to 8 even with today's much advanced tech over 2001...), the original SvR and SvR '08 were god-awful.

So really, I'd say about 8 out of 11 were at least "decent" or better.

A couple of things they need to address with Design a Story for the next one. (Pretty positive on it coming back. It better anyway.)

I noticed that if you have changed the default wrestlers entrances with custom ones, the entrance skips entirely on someone that downloads it. Just use whatever entrance and custom music the person that downloads it has.

Also, have an "entrance scene" option for a animation. Like before a match you can have someone's entrance and then they talk smack before their opponent comes out or just have thier entrance before another scene.

I agree with the original SVR. I was waiting for it anxiously and it was awful. 2 was amazing tho..I played the shit out of it.
Overall, I think the Smackdown series is best enjoyed by skipping a year. I don't think enough changes in every game to justify buying a new one every year. Probably why I am enjoying 10 so much more.

It's an arcade-style fighter at heart, and that's not what they need. They need to build one up with simulation in mind. The N64 engine was exactly that, and DOR was a pretty good extension of the N64 game play (different engine, but it still felt more like a sim than SvR).

God I love DoR 2. You can break up moves. Someone goes for a finisher, you hit them with a running finisher.

And music during the match > commentary.

It's got nothing but downloadable content. The storymodes have kept me playing this game far beyond any other SVR game that I can remember.

I stand corrected, I was going for 'Official' DLC. But yeah, the DLC stories are good, and tbh I'd use the downloadable CAWs more if I could give them their actual themes. And yes it does bother me that much

Been unlocking achievements for this lately (only Training one to go) and something odd happened.

After I made an alternate attire for my CAW, my rating went from 100 to 61, my moveset reverted back to when I originally made the guy (I had made some minor changes) and I lost the abilities I had unlocked.

Anyone else have this problem/know how to remedy it? Or do I just have to build my guy up again?

I know when I did that achievement, I had to create a copy of my superstar. So I now have two of the same guys, but one with the low rating and one with the 99. Perhaps if after getting the achievement you deleted the wrong guy. That's all I can think of.

Speaking of which, how is getting the Training achievment. How difficult is it. After I beat Shawn Michaels story, I will only have that and the 100 reversals left to get. So I could easily 1000g this game if I wanted, but not sure if the Training is even worth the time.

I think I am about halfway through the training, with shit like reversing finishers and whatnot to go. Worth it I guess if you really want the rest of the achievements.

1. How do you put a gut through a flaming table? I Irish Whip them into it, but they will not stay on it so I can gve them a table finisher.

2. In Career Mode, when you select Hornswoggle as your manager, does he ever appear as a charcter? evrtime I choose the Single w/ manager match type, I always shoose him to see if anything will ever happen.... nothing has :(

1) You have to get him in a strong grapple and drag him towards the table and you will automatically do a table finisher.

2) Do not know for sure, but I know last year he'd show up in a cut scene and pull out a weapon for you.

THQ's current plans for Smackdown vs Raw 2011 are all about the Legends of pro wrestling. Promotions such as WCW, ECW, AWA and others are scheduled to be included in the game along with over 30 Legends.
