Pretty good day of games considering none were the usual Thanksgiving blowouts.

Giants and the 2nd Bears meeting are the only real tough games preventing Green Bay from going undefeated but then Green Bay has to win the title to prevent them from becoming the new "2007 Pats".

Also, Im gonna go ahead and say this..Of the 8 Raven's wins so far, 6 of them have come against teams that are .500 are better (2 vs Steelers, Bengals, Jets, 49ers, Texans)...3 Division leaders/co leaders and 2 possible wild cards.. The Packers have only beat 5 teams that are .500 or better and the only division leader they've beat are the Saints and that was week 1. The 49ers have only beat 3 above .500 teams..the Patriots 4 teams, the Texans 3 teams.. The steelers 3 teams and the Saints 3 teams..Cowboys 2 teams..

To be fair, the Ravens only play 1 above .500 team the rest of the way (the bengals, who might not be when they play week 17) and the Packers have 3 who should be the rest of the way, but I thought it would be interesting to point this out.

Also, just to be even more fair..the four teams they've played with losing records they lost to two of them. But I dont think those 2 losses negate the 6 wins vs playoff bound/caliber teams.

I like how they're all convinced that the Steelers are going to get a wild card and then come back to Baltimore and beat the Ravens in the playoffs.

Let's be clear on this. IF the Ravens are able to hold on and win the division and IF the Steelers don't have a monumental collapse of epic proportions, the Steelers WILL get a wild card. If the Ravens falter at all, it is equally likely that the Steelers will win the division and push the Ravens into a wild card slot.

More than likely, if both teams are in the playoffs, they will meet at some point. It has been proven time and again that it is VERY difficult to beat a team 3 times in one season. The first Ravens-Steelers game was a blowout. the second game was VERY close. So of course there will be vocal fans who feel really good about the Steelers chances in that matchup.

To expect anything else is really just plain dumb.

Kind of funny when you think about it. Steelers have lost three, two of them thanks to the Ravens. Ravens have lost 3, two of them thanks to little league teams. If you take the Ravens out of the equation, Steelers would be almost undefeated.

There might be some merit to that statement about the Ravens faltering. But a lot of that shit in the thread he linked doesn't even make sense. Like the fact that the Ravens aren't a "touchdown team" but have four more than the Steelers. Someone responds that the Steelers have played a game less and will "score at least 4 touchdowns Sunday," lol. It's one thing to be hopeful, but another to be unrealistic and try to justify getting beaten twice by your rivals as anything less than what it is.

Let's be clear: The Ravens are not an elite team. They are not a legit contender. So they beat a hapless and over-rated 49ner team who is this year's equivolent to the Falcons last year. The 49ners are going nowhere except one and done in the playoffs. The media may drink from the poision cistern of the Ravens, but not me. Here is why the Ravens will have an early post-season exit:

1. Coaching - Hairball is so in love with himself and his decisions that he is unwilling to make game time adjustments. (See Jacksonville and Seattle games as proof)
2. Fluko - He is not a big game QB. He is not Big Ben. Shoot he is not even Bert Jones.
3. Offensively - They are not consistent. They are a FG team, not a TD team. They will not score enough points when it matters most.
4. Defensively - They are a one trick pony. Neutralize Suggs and Ngata and you have a defense that can be run and thrown on at will.
5. Steelers - We can only hope we get to see these scrubs in the playoffs. The Ravens know the Steelers have their number in the playoffs. It is a Steel wall they can not break through.

So to the media and Raven trolls on this board keep drinking the Kool-Aid...your demise will be painful in a quick exit in the playoffs. Enjoy the off-season as you continue to have Steeler nightmares.

AFC Wild Card Contenders Steelers 8-3 /Bengals7-4 (Jets/Broncos/Titans all 6-5/Bills 5-6)

NFC Wild Card Contenders Bears 7-4/Lions7-4 (Falcons7-4/Giants 6-4/no one else better than 4-7)

NFC is pretty much down to those 4 teams, and I think you have to say that the Falcons are playing the best of the bunch but its gonna be a fight between the other 3 the way they're playing..Giants/Cowboys and Saints/Falcons are gonna be close races for their divisions with SF/GB running away with theirs..

With the AFC, the Broncos are playing the best of the bunch of hopefuls and after this weekend Im assuming Cincy will be lumped back with them at 7-5..The Titans could catch the Texans now that they're on a scrub #3 QB..and the Broncos could catch the Raiders I think..I think the ravens and Patriots are both in good shape due to having tiebreakers over the next team behind them..

pretty amazing that things are pretty much shaped out to this with 5 weeks still left.

Worth noting that for that last wildcard spot, Denver has the head to head tiebreaker over both CIN and NYJ, and TEN has it over DEN. Had the Bengals lost today, Denver would be the #6 seed. Fucking shit

Denver's got a better chance of passing the Raiders anyway. Oakland's got a very real chance of losing the rest of their games. Cincy still gets to play St. Louis, Arizona, and Houston without a QB.

That Texans game should be interesting somewhat. If Yates can just be decent the Texans D may be able to carry him. Bengals also have Steelers and Ravens though

But Denver's last games are MIN/CHI/NE/BUF/KC, and with those Chicago and Buffalo games looking infinitely easier, Denver may have the easier schedule

But yeah, I'd much rather the Raiders be the Raiders and hand over the division lead to The Chosen One

Bengals can beat the Ravens at home. They're 5-1 against the Ravens at home since 2005. The Steelers game is probably a loss though. But even still I feel there's a good chance they can go 3-2 down the stretch and hit 10 wins.
