This isn't actually all that odd for this game to turn out like this. Ben got injured early on and The Browns have the best pass defense in the league. They just aren't able to score on the Steelers D.

To be honest, the 9ers are probably counting on the Steelers to not be concerned about Alex Smith. At the same time though, I still can't have 100% faith in Smith, even after his uprising this season. If he puts up numbers in the off-season, maybe I'll fall in love with him again.

Honestly it just depends on what Steeler team shows up. If we get a performance the caliber of the New England game we could win the game in fairly convincing fashion. If we look like we did against Kansas City that would be a different story. Steelers just seem to play to level of their opponent this season whether it's in a positive or negative way. I'm honestly just excited that there will finally be a decent MNF game.

Heres how confident I am about this. Ravens lose the game vs the Colts by 1 or 55, I will not speak another word about the Ravens on TPWW for 365 days...even if they go to the Super Bowl, win the Super Bowl and start 12-0 next year. You won't hear me say anything about anyone related to the Ravens, you won't even hear me talk about Raven the wrestler or Edgar Allen Poe..
but I dont have to worry about it, because they won't lose to the Colts.

I wish people would leave out the Titans game since the Titans have a decent shot at getting into the playoffs. And the other two losses were by 5 points each, hardly anything to get worked up over.
FearedSanctity
12-10-2011, 06:39 PM
lol, Ravens lost to the Titans in week 2, back when they were playing like shit and CJ was struggling to break like 30 yds per game. And does it matter the deficit of the other two losses? Jags are a fucking joke (sorry Ermax) and Seattle is almost definition average. A Super Bowl contender should win those close games (see: Green Bay), not lose them in hilarious fashion (see: Jags/Ravens with 4th and 43, no first downs and 16 yards in the whole first half and game losing INT)
Also, not pictured was the fact they needed a miracle comeback to beat the shit ass Cardinals

No excuse in the Seattle/Jax games but the Titans game was a tough road game vs a team in its home opener that has since gone on to remain in playoff contention. My only point about the point differential was that it wasn't like they got blown out by a crappy team, each game was close and the Ravens actually had chances late in both games to come back but they didn't.
And since I couldn't have fathomed the Ravens going undefeated, Im honestly glad in some sort of weird way that 2 of the 3 teams they lost to sucked and they've beaten all the good teams they've faced.
I dont know how people can shit all over a team that is 9-3 and given 3 of the 6 other 9-3 or better teams in the league (Steelers, Texans, 49ers) a loss (and with the Steelers, 2 losses)..
Emperor Smeat

Lions coach is willing to bench any player if they keep generating personal fouls in games with last week being the final straw (3 personal fouls that killed off the Lions chances).
NFL also drops any plans to suspend James Harrison after the brutal hit he gave to Colt McCoy but also hint anymore bad hits from him, especially to the head, and they won't hesitate to ban him like they did with Suh.

:D Pats win, Gronk holds the record for most TDs by a TE in a season, and the defense came up huge at the end when it was needed the most.
Redskins also ended up becoming the last home team to lose to Brady.
Brees TD streak stays alive after being denied for the 1st 3 quarters against the Titans.
Bengals sliding a lot and I think now the Jets have the 6th spot or are very close to getting the playoff spot.

3rd and 18, Smith throws to somedude who makes a decent David Tyreeish catch for 8 yards.
SF rushes their field goal unit out to the field.
They fake the FG and would have most likely scored a TD.
BUT Ken Whisenhunt threw the challenge flag challenging the catch. The refs didn't blow the whistle until the fake was halfway done.
They go to review, the replay equipment malfunctions. No timeout charged, no challenge charged, ruling stands as a catch and re-do 4th down.
Akers misses the field goal.
First play, Skelton fires it down the middle to Doucet who runs downfield for the touchdown.
Fitz with the assist laying the fuck out of someirreleveant49erpeiceofshitcornerback.

It soo weird but somehow keeps working for Denver. Not even Miami's wildcat stayed great for this long in a season.
After 8 weeks one would think teams would have figured out Denver's offense half-asses it for the first 3 quarters and then plays for real in the 4th leaving the defense in charge of keeping the score close till the 4th.
Tebow threw a lot more today but even then it wasn't till the 4th that those passes became huge plays.

The Ravens control their destiny as to whether or not they want #1 seed and home field advantage or end up the #5 seed, since if they win out, no matter what the Patriots/Steelers/Texans do (all currently 10-3 as well), the Ravens will have the #1 seed. If they lose a game then they have to rely on a bunch of mess to happen (49ers beat Steelers, Broncos beat Patriots, Houston to lose a game) which isn't all likely..
I watched the first 3 quarters of the SD/Buffalo game and I am more worried about that game now then I was a couple weeks ago. They've gotten their act together and making the patented Norv Turner late season playoff push and they pretty much need to win the game to have hopes of making the playoffs with the way Denver is playing and the fact that the Jets are ahead of them in the WC. I still think they can coax a few turnovers out of Rivers and I think the Ravens should be able to run the ball with Ray Rice..but its gonna be a hell of a game and its funny that NBC ends up with a decent playoff impact game after not getting Tebow vs Brady.

'Tebowing' becomes officially recognized as a word
By Tom Weir, USA TODAY
It appears "Tebowing" is here to stay.
The Global Language Monitor website says it acknowledges that the word Tebowing -- the act of taking a knee in prayer during an athletic contest -- is now part of the English language.
In today's online world, that's practically the equivalent of gaining acceptance to Webster's Dictionary.
A press release from the website says the quick acceptance and use of Tebowing "has seldom been equaled, mirroring, for example, the rate of adoption of the word Obamamania in early 2008."
Tim Tebow got the word going on Oct. 23, when famously he took a knee after his Denver Broncos completed a dramatic comeback victory against Miami in overtime.
And let's also give Tebowing.com some credit for helping the term go viral.
Now then, what are the chances of Suh-ing catching on as a term for outbursts of anger?

Really wanna say NE's pass defense. If Sexy Rexy shredded them then Tim should at least do good. Couple that with the run game and NE's pretty bad D may be in for a long day. Tim's weakness is getting hit causes him to get rattled pretty easily. If NE can hit Tim early Denver will have trouble moving the ball through the air
Denver's D is good, but I don't think it matches up well against NE. If Bailey is likely covering Welker, who's on Gronk? They lack anyone big and physical enough to match up with him. Def my biggest concern there

Rather have Bailey on Welker. I think Woodyard has the speed and physicality to cover Gronk, just please not DJ. Goodman should cover whoever is the least likely to do anything when they get open and catch it. If Goodman is allowed to get burned by anyone with ability after the catch, it could get ugly (see: Goodman on Harvin)

Tebow has 5 this season and 6 total in his 11 games, including one down by 15 with no timeouts and less than 5 minutes left. Comeback against Pittsburgh? Nope, haven't played them, but the Bears D is just as good and he came back from down 10 with no timeouts with less than 3 minutes

This has probably been the weakest year for running backs in recent memory. Other than Adrian Peterson, who else, there really aren't any franchise running backs anymore.
I bet this whole revolving door running back thing is a fad. In the next five years an unbelievable running back will come out and change the league, then every team in the will try to use a guy in the same way that guy is used. Then they will talk about "The Return of the Running Back League" on Sportscenter and the Sportscenter Recap Show.
