After a Jets/NY Yankees Win: one drink for every Bandwagon NY fan calling into gloat.

After a Loss: 2 drinks.

Don't worry they never call after a loss.

Anyway the Pro Bowl really means absolutely nothing. The biggest names will make it in 9 times out of 10 irregardless of stats. Chances are a team with a shitload of representation will make it into the Super Bowl anyway so the rosters will be riddled with alternates.

Oh trust me, no one doubts the Cowboys more than Cowboys fans. Not only are they possibly the most obnoxious, but as a whole they're bandwagoners. Cowboys win and they'll ride the dick hard, but as soon as they lose they'll immediately cast doubt on the entire season, coaching staff and players and will pretty much just ignore the team until they win again

I just like being in different leagues with different people. For the longest time, Yahoo capped you at 4 teams that you could have - so that's the number I've always stuck with. I tend to only check on gamedays as well. I had a dream last night that the Giants went up on Dallas 5-0 in the 1st quarter and then Osi Umenyiora got ejected from the game for a very late hit on Romo.

For a game, it was pretty crazy. For a dream... quite mundane.

Not that hard really, I usually do 3 but had to take on another because in the one league I run an owner flaked out mid season and just started signing up IR players and made them his starters. So I just kicked him out and took control of his team.

The good thing is the NFL isn't the NBA. You can just go through your lineup Saturday night or Sunday morning and set your roster then. By then you usually have a good idea of who will or won't be active. Don't have to stress all week or follow too many games. Can just get everything set in one night in about 10-15 minutes

Oh digging up these quotes after the Ravens are one and done will be delicious

I like the fact that the NFL didn't move the Pats game to 4:15 because if they end up losing to the Bills, the Ravens will know that a win will get them Home Field and a Bye Week and they will absolutely wreck the Bengals if it comes down to that. They know regardless that they get the bye with a win so I can't see how they won't be prepared to do it anyway.

If the Ravens get Home Field, I am 100% confident that they can make it to the Super Bowl. They've already beaten 1/2 of the AFC Playoff Field already in Baltimore (Pittsburgh/Houston/NY or Cincy) and while they lost to two potential playoff teams (SD and Tennessee), they were on the road. The only team Im concerned about is Pittsburgh because of how tough Steelers games (usually) are.

If they only get the 2, and have to go to New England, need I remind you that they've been to New England and beaten them before in the playoffs so there will be no problem on that end.

Droford
12-29-2011, 02:16 AM
Also, Im rooting for any scenario which gets the Titans in at 6 and Raiders in at 4 the playoffs since the Ravens made the Super Bowl by beating the Titans in the Divisional Round and the Raiders in the AFC Championship...both on the road though. The Ravens would have to get the #1 seed and the Titans would have to beat the Texans (possible) and the Raiders would have to beat the Steelers (maybe) and the Patriots (I doubt it).

Also obviously rooting for the New York Giants, although they were a #1 seed when they went to the Super Bowl and now they would be the #4 (whereas the Ravens were the #4 seed when they won the Super Bowl and now they'd be #1)

and if everything plays out opposite, then obviously it sounds like the Ravens would lose the Super Bowl lol..

Hard to believe but Saturday is the 11th anniversary of the Ravens beating the Broncos in the Wild Card game the year they went to the Super Bowl.

SlickyTrickyDamon

Krispy, tell me what you think about the likely New Orleans/SF match-up in the playoffs. I think that NO will probably have the edge but talking to Saints fanboys is fucking annoying as shit. This game will not be a breeze and in no way is SF an easy out, especially at home. To me, I'm thinking the difference is probably going to be Brees playing passes out of the range of our defenders and with Jimmy Graham on the field, defense will likely be a nightmare in the red zone for us. Those high passes to Graham in the end zone are major killers because they are extremely difficult to defend due to the height and leaping advantage of Graham.

If the 49ers takeaways are going to be a big factor in the game, it probably won't happen in the red zone. I'm confident that we can put enough pressure on Brees to stop him from make a high number of miraculous plays, but with a guy like Breez, he only needs a couple of solid looks per drive to be effective. I think SF could win the game, but it's going to take some strategy.

Overall I'd take Saints +2

Alot needs to happen for the Titans to get the wild card spot but things aren't looking all that unreasonable at this point. The Titans would need to beat the Texans, which I think they can do handily. They would also need the Bengals to lose to the Ravens, the Jets to win, and need either Denver or Oakland to lose.

That's alot, but it doesn't seem all the improbable.

I thought the Jets were the last in the pecking order for the final AFC spot? My understanding was that it was Bengals, Raiders, Titans, Jets.

If that's the case I could definitely see the Titans getting in. The Ravens have something to play for and the AFC West is essentially unpredictable so the Chiefs could easily go over the Raiders. Texans meanwhile are going to be resting everybody to avoid any more injuries.

Evil Vito

As for the Giants, the game is really a toss up. The elements should favor the Giants, but who really knows. The crowd will be juiced up early but the second the Cowboys convert more than one 3rd down in the same drive they'll be sitting on their hands. Also there are always a ton of Cowboys fans there, especially since it's a night game and people who have a lengthy commute to the game are probably putting their tickets on eBay.

Titans don't need to worry about the Jets (current tiebreaker is common games record) but they still need a loss by whoever becomes #2 in the West (Denver or Oakland) and Cincy to lose.

Even if Cincy does lose and the Titans win, Cincy can still take #6 due to holding the tiebreaker over Tennessee as long as the Jets lose and whoever is #2 in the West also lose.

Jets need everyone ahead of them to lose in order to trigger their tiebreaker advantage against Cincy. They don't have any with Tennessee nor Oakland.

Yeah but the Jets need the Raiders OR the Broncos to lose, so as the games are playing out, I'll be rooting for both to lose. If the Raiders win then the Broncos game does effect the Jets. A Broncos win would put the Raiders in the wild card, knocking the Jets out.

The 9ers aren't built to play catch up with Alex Smith as the QB.. If the Saints can get up early, it'll be a long day for 9ers fans.. that being said if y'all can control the tempo by running the ball and keep Brees on the sidelines and win the turnover battle, y'all have a chance..

Id give the edge to the Saints simple cause I don't see the 9ers being able to put up the.points that the Saints can but its a classic grappler vs strikers match..

I got $4,000 riding on the Chargers and Jets as underdogs, along with the Cowboys..and the Ravens and 49ers as Favorites. 49ers -11.5 is risky but they need to play to win to keep the bye week and its the Rams for crying out loud.

How are the Jets underdogs against the DOLPHINS?!

Emperor Smeat
12-31-2011, 10:20 PM
Marc Sanchez is the reason and it has to do with his inconsistency as a QB and the talks of the Jets unsure of his future with the team which won't help if they lose (or win and still get knocked out).

Dolphins have also been pretty good at home this year and have been great against struggling teams.

Reggie Bush is supposed to be out tomorrow and yet the bookies still think the Jets have too great of a chance to screw up to make them favorites.

Team Sheep
12-31-2011, 10:39 PM
Low morale and poor form I suppose, and Dolphins being at home makes them slight favourites. And most of the Dolphins' recent games have been wins or narrow losses to strong opposition. Thank god Reggie Bush is out at least is all I can say. Out of all the scenarios the Jets need tomorrow, I'd say the toughest will be their own game. Intrigued to see if the team will fight or just fold.

Saints broke the single season record for total offense..

Pretty amazing especially considering they have 5 games where they scored 40+ and 10 games scoring 30+ points. I don't think even the Patriots in 2007 were that explosive in terms of games.

:D #1 seed locked, defense responded huge after the 1st, and Gronk with 2 TDs. Still worried about the defense giving up too much to start games.

Since the Jets are about to lose, now Tennessee needs Cincy to lose and for both Denver and Oakland to win.

Cincy needs a win or either a loss from Denver or Oakland.

I think it says a lot that the AFC North is sending 3 teams to the playoffs and the Ravens swept the division.

you might think I'd be rooting for Denver and Houston next weekend but you'd be wrong! Im am rooting for Houston since they would come to Baltimore in the Divisional round, but im rooting for Pittsburgh since they have the only decent shot out of Denver/Pittsburgh/Cincy to beat the Patriots in the Divisional round, and I would rather have Pittsburgh come to Baltimore in the AFC Championship (First championship game in Baltimore since 1959) than to have Baltimore have to go to NE even though I feel good that they could win there anyway.

Also, first team in Baltimore football history to go to the playoffs 4 straight years, and only team in the NFL currently that has done that.

Home
Cincinnati win

Pittsburgh ?
Dallas win
NY Giants win
Oakland win
San Diego ?
New England ?

Away
Cincinnati win
Cleveland win
Pittsburgh ?
Philadelphia ?
Washington win
Denver win
Kansas City win
Houston win

11 wins, split the Pittsburgh series at a minimum to get to 12. Eagles could be a win but I have a feeling they're gonna be the hot team next year with a full offseason to gel. Tougher home schedule than this year. If the Ravens win the super bowl, you know that Patriots game is gonna be the thursday night opener.

Did this a couple days earlier than last year:

Ravens have
Houston(W)/Indianapolis(?)/Arizona(W)/SanFrancisco(W)/NYJ(W) at home
and
Jacksonville(W)/Tennessee(W)/St Louis(W)/Seattle(W)/SD(?) on the road.

Im calling 14-2 for the Ravens next year. Only 2 games Im worried about outside of the Steelers are the Colts/Chargers. Split that and split the 2 vs the Steelers.

Just a wee bit off. Amsuing I had the SD as ?. Right on every home game though at the time who would have know the Colts would stink and the 49ers would be world beaters.
