How dare you. I am sculpting a statue of Donte Whitner made out of bacon and mashed potatoes as we speak.
In hindsight, he shouldn't have gone for the pick there and he should have stayed with the coverage, but that really wasn't his play to fuck up, tbh. If anything, Patrick Willis "dropped the ball" there by turning his back to the football too long. If Donte had gotten the pick there, we would've called him brilliant so dunno. I forgive both of them though. :)

Baltimore Ravens (http://www.businessinsider.com/blackboard/baltimore-ravens) running back Ray Rice (http://www.businessinsider.com/blackboard/ray-rice) eats loads and loads of chia seeds (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204301404577171061283988408.html?mod=rss_Sports) to keep his body sharp, the Wall Street Journal (http://www.businessinsider.com/blackboard/wall-street-journal) reports. The Bolivian chia seeds, which are the main ingredient in Chia Pets, cost $14.99 for a 16-ounce bag, and Rice believes they give him energy and speed digestion.
As dumb as it sounds, there's actual some science behind it.
WSJ (http://www.businessinsider.com/blackboard/wsj) say the seeds absorb 10 times their weight in water, and various South and Central-American Indian tribes have been eating them for hundreds of years.

Patriots Stat Fact of the Day
Tom Brady has only thrown for 300 yards in 4 of 20 career playoff games, 1 of which was last sunday (363). the other instances were Super Bowl 38 (354) and Division rounds in 2002 (312) and 2006(341). The most yards he's ever thrown for in an AFC Title game was 237 back in 2004 vs Ind (209 vs SD in 08, 232 vs Ind in 07, 207 vs Pit in 05 and 115 vs Pit in 02).

Funny how yards don't matter in a game vs the patriots since they gave up the 2nd most passing yards in the entire history of the NFL (2nd to the Packers).
Funny how the last time the Ravens played the Patriots, Tom Brady only threw for 154 yards and 3 ints.

LOL you know I mean playoffs. Stop being stupid yourself.
And in "the last game", just for the LOL of it, Flacco threw for 285 yards, 2 TDs and a 119 QB rating. And if you remember that game, it was 2 minute away from ending in a tie as the Ravens defense, which was WORSE last year than it is this year was pretty much able to stop Brady.

John Harbaugh is just the fourth head coach in NFL
history (since 1970 merger) to guide his team to the
playoffs in each of his first four seasons, and last
Sunday against Houston, became the first to win a
playoff game in each of those four years. Under Har-
baugh, the Ravens are 5-3 in the postseason.
Drofordlation:
Don Shula should be honored to drink Harbaugh's ballsweat. People just disrespect John Harbaugh as a coach because they are jealous of his awesome hair and the fact he is superior to them and their heroes. Harbaugh has ranked 2nd among active coaches in the past 50 years to get more pussy than Jimmy Johnson on Extenze. Only Steve Marriucci got more, but they were much uglier and hairier.

Tom Brady is 7-2 in championship games. He is a multiple time MVP and threw for more yards this year than any QB in any season before him while leading his team to the #1 seed in the AFC despite a record-setting inept defense. He is considered one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.

Droford, the Ravens beat the Patriots ONCE in history, which was TWO YEARS AGO. The Jets beat the Patriots TWICE last season, but who cares? Look at the season the Jets just had. A year is an age in the NFL, let alone two years. Seasons past really don't mean a damn thing so stop referring to the one win the Ravens ever had over the Patriots two fucking years ago.
And like I said before, the Patriots were not really themselves that year by their standards. Only a 10-6 record (hell they had a better record the year before that with Matt Cassell at QB yet missed the play offs), and it was Brady's first season back from injury and all that.
Emperor Smeat
01-21-2012, 03:22 PM
Patriots also have Gronk Time and the dual TE threat that wasn't there the year the Ravens won. Hernandez alone works as a combo RB/TE which really fooled the Broncos last week early in the game.
Nobody has been able to completely shut down the TEs once they got incorporated a lot into the main part of the offense around the middle of the season.

ROFL from the Onion
BALTIMORE—Reflecting on a 12-4 season that showcased their gritty, brash, defense-first style, the Baltimore Ravens admitted Thursday that while everyone else chases the pretty, sexy wins, they actually prefer theirs ugly. "There's just something about the physical, dirty, sweaty ones, the ones that aren't much to look at but really make you work for it and might even hurt you," said one Ravens player who asked not to be named and claimed there were "at least 10 other guys" on the team who shared his feelings. "Everyone chases after the sexy ones, the ones with poise and so on, but there's something about grunting and shoving your way through that sweaty muck for an hour that makes an ugly one a lot more satisfying. Mmm. Yeah." The Ravens refused to name which of the ugly wins was their favorite, but admitted there was one "real hog wallow" in Tennessee they'd always regret letting get away from them.http://o.onionstatic.com/img/icons/terminator.gif

You know what I think a realistic projection for your career should be, Joe? Troy Aikman. Trent Dilfer brought this up with Sports Illustrated's Don Banks this week, and I was jealous when I saw it because it's a comparison I've been thinking about for a while now, but I kept putting it off and now it's going to look like I'm just parroting Dilfer's analysis, but you'll just have to trust me on this one. I do think you could be the Aikman of this generation -- at least a poor man's Aikman -- as long as you continue to progress. Aikman never threw for more than 23 touchdowns in a single season. He never threw for more than 3,445 yards. But he was a unifying presence on a team with massive egos, protected the football and was really good on third down. His career quarterback rating was 81.6. Even in 1993, the best season of his career, his quarterback rating was 99.0. He was stoic and boring -- sound familiar? -- and he was one of the greatest game mangers of all time.

I would say that there were three games he shit the bed in at home. The Seahawks, Eagles, and Skins. I don't think turnovers were/are an issue at all, especially within the context of the games this year.
He has literally carried the Giants to victories this year. There were injuries all over the offense. I guess you would have to watch the games week in and week out.

And I can't speak specifically to each turnover but an elite QB doesn't turn it over nearly as much as he has the past 2 seasons. I think he's at like 50 turnovers in 2 seasons. That's insane.

This is probably the first season I've viewed Eli as a star player. Before that I thought he was a decent game manager who occasionally had flashes of brilliance, but also made some stupid throws that got picked off.
But I'm sold on him now.

I don't even think Eli was that bad in the Seahawks game. They were on the verge of completing a game-winning drive but Cruz made one of his signature bothces and sent the ball right into the hands of the cornerback.
Frankly, Eli has shown me enough this year to convince me that he actually is an elite quarterback. There are only a few QB's I'd take ahead of him at this point...and when the game is on the line I have faith that he can drive it down the field for the win. Many in the media will probably never consider him to be elite even if he wins a 2nd SB ring, but whatever.

all I know is, I want to see the Ravens win the Super Bowl in Indianapolis, have Raymond Berry, Baltimore Colts legend hand the Vince Lombardi Trophy to Steve Bisciotti, and have him put it on a Mayflower Truck and send it back to Baltimore in the Middle of the night in a snowstorm, a reverse of what happened 10,176 days earlier. Nothing else would be more appropriate, nothing else is acceptable (the Mayflower truck thing wont happen obviously, but still)

I'd say he's an elite QB just due to the fact that I consider him a threat at any time. If the Giants are down by 2-3 TDs, I'm still never completely sold that they are out of the game until the bitter end. Definitely a quality of an elite QB.
