The Toronto Blue Jays trade Travis Snider to Pittsburgh.

I'm not sure how much value LaHair has. He's only got 3 rbi in July. I can't tell if its a slump or if he came back to earth

Diamondbacks reportedly DFA Lyle Overbay..... I could totally see the Bluejays picking him up again.....especially with Lind on the DL.....

Overbay to Cinci. Makes sense, with Votto out.
Prado took Reyes to the gunshow tonight.
If Soriano is involved in the Dodger talk then Zach Lee or Allen Webster have to be involved.
My biggest wish is that the Rangers send Mike Olt in a deal for Garza.

yankees lose to the Os..and teixiera needs an mri..
wondr who theyll trade for
I think they will stand pat with what they have...............for right now. But, during the offseason I still say the Yankees are gonna do some Blockbuster trade for someone. Maybe J-Up or a Third Baseman after all Swish is gone and the Yankees probably aren't gonna want to pay the money he wants.
Yanks will get Soriano. Serious prediction. It just makes too much sense right now.

Yanks will get Soriano. Serious prediction. It just makes too much sense right now.
I don't see it. He can't play Third Base, he can't play Right Field. He'd be useful as a DH but we have got way to many of those.

Right Now? Combination of Andruw Jones and Ibanez. (Who have both been doing good right now IMO) By next year we'd probably have Gardner in Left Field.

Soriano makes no sense whatsoever for the Yankees.
If the Dodgers are out of it, then I'm afraid the Cubs will get stuck with Dempster and Soriano for the rest of the season.
Unless the Nationals want to get Dempster in case they have to shut down/limit Strasburg.

Phillies took Cliff Lee off of the trading block with the main reason being nobody was willing to give enough for him. Rangers wanted him but not at the price Philly wanted.
Dodgers lost out on Dempster because they were unwilling to include Allen Webster. The reason Dempster suddenly included the Yankees was from the loss of his preferred team with the Dodgers but made the announcement too late for the Cubs to work out something in time.
Red Sox traded Matt Albers and Scott Podsednik to the D'Backs in return for Craig Breslow.

I should have faith, they played well against the Nats and beat Strasburg when I saw them a couple weeks ago until some dude came out of the bullpen and gave me Bill Swift flashbacks and I think they beat Gio the next night as well. Apparently the Tigers inquired about getting Hairston and the Mets told them they wanted one of the Tigers' top 5 prospects. :| Hairston absolutely murders lefties and seems to be good in the clubhouse, but god damn.
The Mets are 10 losses back in the Wild Card. The Pirates and Braves are both on pace for 92 wins and figure to finish somewhere in that range. Mets would have to go 42-17 the rest of the way to get there. Just not gonna happen.
I know they want to bring Hairston back for 2013. But shit. Get what you can for him and try your luck at signing him in the offseason. I thought they would have learned their lesson from last year.

Probably going to end up as Detroit and LA/Oakland or the West takes both spots so either way the biggest "threat" for Oakland is the Angels.
AL East is also a threat but probably ends up beating up on themselves to the point of loosing a spot (Baltimore is 6-6 vs Tampa this season)

Bobby V always has been the most vocal about things like this. A lot has to go wrong for all the other teams in contention and go right for them for them to get there. Right now, I really don't see it. They are in 4th place. Have to beat out 4 or 5 teams just for the second wild card etc.etc. I just don't see it, but bigger surprises have surprised me. I seriously think they really need to make a trade during this offseason and maybe getting rid of Beckett would be helpful too.

I've heard it has to be something along the range of 35-15 in order to just reach the magical number of 90 wins that every Wild Card seems to get in the AL. They've shown nothing in pitching to suggest that will happen considering Beckett and Lester jeep killing any momentum ever gained.
Cherrington has done some really dumb small trades this year for small fixes that haven't worked at the cost of the youth and depth in the minors. His last trade involved giving away the best minor league hitter and insurance in case Ellsbury leaves in return for a MLB ready player who plays 3B which is what Middlesbrook plays.

Well any hope of the Red Sox even trying to contend for a Wild Card is basically dead now that a significant amount of the players have placed an ultimatum of either Bobby V gets fired or they won't care anymore about the season.
Pedroia still hates Bobby V while certain players hate they no longer get the same lax privileges Francona gave which created the mess to begin with. The worst fears of Gonzalez becoming "tainted" from certain spoiled players (ex. Youk and Beckett) is now a reality since he's complaining a lot.
Basically they don't want any strict managers and easier to blame Bpbby V (who hasn't been that great nor that horrible) as the scapegoat to why they suck this season.

Both will happen but not at the level of blowing the team up considering its mostly the pitching where the trouble are in terms of wasted money (ex. Dice K, Lackey) or cause of the suckage (ex. Beckett, most of the bullpen). The minors does need a lot of rebuking considering how bad the majority of the trades have been in regards with prospects.
The entire staff needs to be tossed considering the pitching coach and medical staff have been dreadful. To be fair, for some stupid reason the Red Sox kept almost all of the former Francona staff instead of letting Bpbby V bring in some of his own guys or choices.
Doubt any of the good names from last year want to be involved in any of the mess especially if the players are revolting against a "strict" coach.

Pedroia is saying he stands behind Bobby V. ome on, man take a stand and stand
Boston Red Sox players blasted manager Bobby Valentine to owners John Henry and Larry Lucchino during a heated meeting called after a text message was sent by a group of frustrated players to the team and ownership in late July, three sources familiar with the meeting told Yahoo! Sports.
The owners called the meeting for Boston's off-day in New York on July 27 after first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, texting on behalf of himself and some teammates, aired their dissatisfaction with Valentine for embarrassing starting pitcher Jon Lester by leaving him in to allow 11 runs during a July 22 start. It was the latest incident in a season's worth of bad relations bubbling between Red Sox players and Valentine.
Gonzalez and Dustin Pedroia were among the most vocal in the meeting, in which some players stated flatly they no longer wanted to play for Valentine, the sources said. The tenor of the 2 p.m. meeting at The Palace hotel in New York turned ugly almost immediately, according to the sources, whom Yahoo! Sports granted anonymity because they were not authorized to speak about internal matters.
Passan also tells of a cellphone picture circulating around the team, where Pedroia is standing with his thumbs up next to a slumbering Valentine, with the caption "our manager contemplating his lineup at 3:30 p.m.
