I don't know what it is with the Yankees or what they need to do....... but they better find it really, really, fucking quick.

They're an aging team. They have a roster full of aging veterans. I mean, anytime you have Andruw Jones, Raul Ibaņez and Eric Chavez on the bench, alongside a declining ARod and Teixeira, you're gonna have trouble. Also, they sign Pedro Feliciano, he gets hurt, and he's out. They trade for Pineida, he gets hurt, and is out.

Thing is, I doubt the Yankees can even afford to undergo a rebuilding period of even 1 or 2 seasons, so they'll have to figure out what they do.

Stop overpaying for players and invest in their farm system? They've only one one championship since they started "buying everything."

When they had their big championships run they had way more home-grown talent.

No they didn't. Those championship years had a ton of guys through trades and free agency. The whole notion that the Yankees don't have homegrown players is wrong now anyway. They only have a couple big FA guys on their team right now. CC, A-Rod, Tex and Soriano. Almost everyone else is a result of their farm system. Either by call ups or trades.

The biggest problem is obviously that A-Rod and Tex are declining. A-Rod isn't a surprise being that he's 36 now. I guess Tex isn't either considering he's been declining since after 2009 but its still surprising he started declining that early in his career. He is really useless right now.

Another problem is just the way their offense is constructed in the first place. Its happened a lot in the postseason in recent years - the team can't score any runs because most of the guys will just swing for the fences every time. The only guys that can realistically hit near .300 are Cano and Jeter.

Injuries haven't helped at all this year with Pineda and Rivera being out for the year. And Gardner, Robertson, etc...on the DL.

All that said I still think they'll be fine and make the postseason. They're in last place and still only 5.5 games out. I expect the whole AL East to continue beating up on each other and no team really running away with it.

In fact A-rod isn't even a free agent. I think he may have been traded to us for Alfonso Soriano right? I really don't see what their problem is right now, the Yankees seem to be capable. I still am not gonna give up despite it being Mid-May.

Not going to blame Doubront but yeish at them mustering a whopping total of 2 hits today. Difference today was the bullpen for the Sox returning the favor in stinking when yesterday it was the Os.

Also seems like now Ortiz might be causing problems with his "rant" yesterday where he lashed out on the media and management for saying they have no leaders or not helping them enough (both true in a way).

:D Red Sox take 2 of 3 from the Os and Bard pitched pretty well.

Looks like Padilla kept his streak in tact of anytime he has to pitch a whole inning, he gives up a run or more.

In terms of upcoming series, Baltimore has the edge in keeping or extending their lead considering Tampa is taking on the Sox and the first game is against Lester who's been improving.

So apparently there is going to be a qualifying round to the World Baseball Classic held in November of this year, featuring a bunch of nations that weren't involved in the first two.

The roster eligibility loopholes were the same as the Olympics - you're eligible if you, a parent, or a grandparent were from the country. However Israel has a nifty loophole to that. Apparently you're instantly an Israeli citizen if you, a parent, or a grandparent is Jewish. As such, even if you're actually 10 generations removed from living in Israel, you'd still be eligible for the team.

Kinda want to see Braun, Kinsler, Youk, and others wind up on the Israel team. Would be hilarious if they somehow wound up being mad good. Also Shawn Green's committed to playing for the team despite being retired for 5 years.

Twitter blew up today because Rizzo left his triple a game early and everyone thought he was called up to the bigs. But in typical Cub fashion, it turned out the news wasnt good. He left with a sore wrist.

I've been a Cub fan for 15 years now. I've never seen our fans clamoring for a prospect like this. Hell, I'm getting wood just thinking about it and I'm not talking about Kerry either. Dude is hitting like crazy. .354 with 17 Home Runs. He's more than ready.

AY YO, I went and got tickets to each and every one of the A's/D-Backs games next week and I don't know which games I should root for whom. Or if I should mix and match A's/D-Backs memorabilia. Or just go all A's since I never have that opportunity.

Here are my Oakland A's hat options:

Except I don't have that last one but it's the closest one I could find that sort of resembles it. Imagine the white part to be yellow with a green logo and a green bill. Really really hideous.

And it goes great with my awesome Mitchell and Ness horizontal green and yellow striped sweatshirt but I can't find a picture of it.

I have two other sweatshirts, one of them is really worn out the other is really nice looking, green with yellow sleeves.

Here is the problem, I live in Arizona. It is June. I will not be wearing any of those sweatshirts. Hell, I rarely wear them. I've worn that striped one I think twice because it is funny to see me in it but it mostly stays tucked in my closet. Worn out one is worn out from being worn to work. Nice looking yellow sleeves one was worn maybe 5 times. Sweatshirts in Arizona is a silly decision.

But here are some normal shirts that I have:

Makes sense since Middlesbrook is producing some good numbers and Youks rant earlier in the season probably hurt him more than he thought. Also a huge sign management wants Middlesbrook to stay on the roster and not be sent back to the minors as a few expected once Youks returned.

The way things were leaning it was either going to be him or Beckett with last year's fallout playing a small role.

Nava has that spot and he's been playing pretty well. There would be no real benefit in terms of fielding stats or batting to replace Nava with Youks since Nava is a better fielder and their batting stats are almost the same.

Youks real value is at 1B since he's Gold-Glove quality there and above average at 3B although tends to commit a bunch more errors at 3B.

Gonzalez was moved mostly to keep his bat in the lineup and to ensure Ortiz had a bat during Interleague and critical games.

Vladimir Guerrero or Vlad, as he is called by those around the game, has played in the majors for 15 years, been an all-star many a time, won an MVP, hit over 400 home runs and is more than likely a first ballot hall of famer. He is a guy that many of us grew up watching kill pitchers and more personally the Phillies. When he arrived many of us were star-struck. As I turned the corner coming out of breakfast I saw a man at the other end of the hall walking towards me. By man I mean 6'4" brick shit house with dreadlocks, arms as big as my thighs, and appearing as though Wesley Snipes and Wyclef Jean had a baby and fed it steroids until it was finished with puberty. Despite playing in the big leagues for 15 years the man's English is brutal so I was naturally inclined to use the old espaņol on him to achieve a line of communication. The first day he took batting practice, everyone was climbing on top of each other to watch. Security guards were there to keep out the public (they were a joke, glorified use cell phones to call the police if something happens people... I mean lets call a spade a spade here, what jackass is going to mess with Vlad Guerrero when his dumps are bigger than most people?). His batting practice is a laser show, hitting towering home runs off of buildings with relative ease and never meeting a pitch he didn't like.As Vlad began to get back in his groove, he becomes an everyday player for us and my left fielder on days I pitch, its pretty cool.
So now, in the 2nd inning 2 weeks ago against the Yankees, one of their hitters lofts a ball into left field. Vlad begins to pursue it running as if it hurts and his knees will give out at any time. The ball goes under his glove and rolls past him to the fence. I begin to curse him and everyone of his family members in every language I can think of knowing anyone else in the world can make that play. As he loafs after the ball, which is now lying still against the fence, the runner rounds second to go to third. Shouts of 3, 3, 3 echo and it appears as though Vlad hits a switch in his head. He grabs the white ball (looking like an aspirin tablet in his bare-hand) and with the wrath of God, the mammoth Caribbean man unleashes a missile that hits the third basemen in the chest, stopping the runner 15 feet short of the base who raises the white flag admitting defeat. The entire complex starts laughing, struck with amazement and wondering if Vlad had just baited that poor kid into being his lunch. As he walked off the field I gave him a hug and a firm slap on the butt and crossed that off the bucket list. Hands down one of the coolest things I have seen on a baseball field.

Mets ban Rafael Diaz, the fan who made it into the celebration pile during Santana's no-hitter, FOR LIFE!

YOU'RE ON NOTICE, VITO! NO FUNNY BUSINESS!

And the Pirates get Appel. Pittsburgh is starting to put together a real promising young team.

The Pirates Rotation in a few years could be pretty sick. Probably will be winning a bunch of 1-0 games lol

All these guys are either coming out of the deep south or west coast. With the 2 random guys coming out of puerto rico and Oklahoma.

Come on, Northeast. Represent!

Billy Hamilton is so fucking fast, but with Cozart and Phillips I have no idea where he'd fit in.

I think he's a pretty good candidate to make the transition to CF. Stubbs is ehh and definitely doesn't have the position locked down for the future. And even if he does, Hamilton could do LF.

This Jarrod Parker dude is no-hitting the Rangers thru 6.1 Innings Pitched. MLB just cut to the Rangers/A's game.

EDIT: No-Hitter thru 7IP.

Nevermind. Michael Young broke it up at the Top of the 8th.

However, he no-hit the Texas Rangers (arguably the best line-up in MLB) for 7 innings.

Good, management was too stubborn to do it earlier when Booby v said during Spring Training it was a big mistake not having him in the bullpen or have more experience at a lower level.

Meanwhile Lester's undefeated streak against the Os continues but 2nd time in a row he was bailed out by the offense. Bullpen also doing its best to give the game away.

The Mets have the worst bullpen in baseball by far. Already blown it twice. And now they'll likely blow it in the 12th as well to lose.
