Why the fuck would the Dodgers want Crawford? Didn't he just get TJS? I've heard it takes even longer than pitchers for some position players to recover from it.
I don't even know why the Dodgers would entertain the thought of involving him and his large contract in this trade.
The earliest he can return is after the All Star Break next season, if he plays at all in 2013.

The idea is la is taking a shitty deal in Crawford off their hands which makes the deal better for Boston. It also dropped prospect requirements to be even.

Ok, Oakland wins the 2nd game of the series.
Rubber match tomorrow.
We're still in 2nd place in the East, 1.5 games up over 3rd place Baltimore, and 1st in the Wild Card.

This shit is seriously crazy. I love this ownership. Our outfield next year is gonna be disgusting, Crawford Kemp and Ethier. And hell, even this year, the middle of the lineup is gonna be Kemp-Ethier-Gonzo-Hanley. Come on, DEFINITELY need to win the NL West.

No time to laugh.
The Rays should be worried about all of their prospects being busted for meth.

Wow, so Skip Bayless actually implied Derek Jeter may be using PED's?
Derek Jeter: Maybe test Skip
http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/story/_/id/8294309/derek-jeter-laughs-skip-bayless-ped-use-insinuation
CHICAGO -- Derek Jeter laughed off insinuations by Skip Bayless of ESPN's "First Take" that his excellent 2012 season has been the result of performance-enhancing drug use.
Speaking on "First Take" on Wednesday morning, Bayless said, "I am shocked by what I'm seeing from Derek Jeter right now. They all said he was washed up. All of a sudden, this man has turned 38 years of age in June and already he has more hits than he had last year. ... I'm seeing a whole new guy this year from last year ... Are you kidding me? You would have to have your head in the sand or your head somewhere else not to at least wonder, 'How is he doing this?' "
When Bayless' remarks were presented to Jeter in the clubhouse before Wednesday night's game against the Chicago White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field, the Yankees' captain smiled and spread his arms in bemusement.
"What do you want me to say?" he said. "Maybe Skip should be tested. I don't know him, but ... "
Jeter entered Wednesday night third in the American Leading in batting average (.324) and leads the majors with 168 hits. Through 123 games, the shortstop already has twice as many home runs (12) as he did last year.
Bayless engaged in a heated debate in which he quoted BALCO founder Victor Conte as saying synthetic testosterone use is "rampant" in the majors today. He then asked, "If you are Derek Jeter, would you think about using HGH right now?," Bayless backed off accusing him of any wrongdoing.
"I am not saying he uses a thing," Bayless said. "I have no idea. But within the confines of his sport, it is fair for all of us, in fact you are remiss, if you don't at least think about this."
Jeter said he hadn't viewed "First Take," nor had he heard ablout Bayless' statements.
"That's the unfortunate thing these days," he said. "Anytime you bring this to light with guys that are doing things now, you have everybody questioning everything. You can say whatever you want to say these days. No repercussions."
Asked if he was insulted -- or flattered -- by the suggestion he might be using HGH, Jeter raised his arms to display his lanky 6-foot-3, 195-pound physique.
"You tell me," he said
Bayless is obviously juicing.
Skip Bayless sucks.

Dodgers also end up having about $250 million locked up until 2018 with only $30 million off after 2 years assuming Beckett isn't resigned. Getting A-Gon was the gem for the Dodgers but don't expect anything from Beckett especially once the LA media starts to complain about him.
For the Red Sox the big news is they now can easily lock up Ellsbury who probably was going to be gone due to horrible screw ups by management over the years. Also gets rid of the headcase that is Beckett from all his drinking and non-stop excuses anytime he did something wrong.
Damian Rey

Adrian just makes them so much better. Crawford and Beckett are big risks. Especially Crawford. A .280avg\.300obp slap hitting left fielder isn't worth $20 mil.

So this is a done deal? I am glad Dodgers have quickly become my favorite team in the National League. So I am happy about this. The Dodgers sure won this deal......in the short term at least. In the long term with Loney and the 3 prospects going to Boston I can certainly see the Sox being the favorite of the deal in the long term.

Seriously its starting to become a joke right now, Red Sox got rid of one head case and now might have another issue considering ESPN has reported Aceves has been given a 3 game suspension by the team.
Apparently he tried to blame his meltdown against the Angels as a "team effort" which pissed off everyone. Then stormed off and demanded a meeting with the GM and Bobby V which both refused. Then supposedly got bad once he found out yesterday he wasn't closing the Royals game due to high pitch count against the Angels (37ish).
Probably means he's getting traded once the August deadline appears considering Bailey just got promoted as closer now.

If Adrian Gonzalez hits like he's capable of, Matt Kemp is going to benefit most from it, because he'll see more pitches. So if he puts together a nice little run, he could still win the NL MVP.

I'd give it to Showalter mostly for guiding the Os to their potential first playoff appearance since 1997 and having a realistic chance at taking the division in probably the toughest division in all of baseball.
Ventura has done a great job but them underachieving might be related more to Ozzie's style as a manager. The team he inherited was talented enough to be competitive and did benefit from Detroit's failures this season so far.
Although if the Os end up falling out of the playoffs considering how close the Wild Card races are, can see Ventura winning it if the White Sox make the playoffs.

Joe Mauer placed on the waiver wire by the Twins although nobody expects him to be taken or traded away. Red Sox are being teased about potentially considering claiming him but it would go against with their recent promise of showing good fiscal spending instead of once again splurging on potentially bad contracts (Mauer's numbers are down this year).
Red Sox placed Dice-K on waivers with the full intent of trading him if any offer is given.

If the Yankees blow that division lead, they would trigger a lot of bad records according to ESPN.
Just blowing the lead would be the worst ever in team history (previous is 5-6 games) and worst in Wild Card era (1978 was pre-WC era).
Blowing it and then failing to make the playoffs would top last year's Red Sox (9 games) for any team (Braves hold the NL record at 8.5) and the 2007 Mets for division leaders (7 games).

This month should be exciting.
No clear AL MVP (Trout is still doing his thing, but the Angels are as inconsistent as that other LA team, the Dodgers) and no clear NL MVP (Matt Kemp is still hitting way over .300 but his power has gone way down, he's still stuck on 17 Home Runs and has only 54 RBI's).
Maybe this is the year Miguel Cabrera wins the AL MVP. Adrian Beltre has gotten hot and a hot finish could make him MVP. Or perhaps Josh Hamilton gets the nod. Or Robinson Cano gets redemption after not winning it last year (barring an epic Yankee September collapse). Or maybe Derek Jeter finally gets an MVP.
In the NL, well. I have no idea. The Cincinnati Reds are going to the playoffs even with Joey Votto hurt most of the season, but I'm not sure Brandon Phillips' 15 Home Runs and 71 RBI's make him an MVP. Matt Holliday has kept the St Louis Cardinals in the hunt and has had a monster season, maybe he gets some MVP consideration. Carlos Beltran looked to be on his way to an MVP season before he cooled off. A hot finish could put him over the top.
We will have to wait and see how things go down.

Bobby V will last the season although probably gets fired considering he's pretty much lost the will to coach after all the constant bickering and problems from the players. Henry doesn't like to fire managers before a season ends and pretty much doesn't like to interfere with daily activities unless all hell starts to break lose (ex. Aceves becoming a nutcase now).
Cherrington pretty much cleared out most of the baggage from the Theo era (both players and bloated contracts) with two trades so it wouldn't make sense to drop him.
Biggest loser is Lucchino since he wasted a month handpicking his manager but not giving him complete control while loosing power to Cherrington to run the team. He's also the reason why Bard was a starter this year, barely allowed Cherrington to clean the mess from last year's disaster, the debacle over Theo's compensation to Chicago, and the main source of dirt tossed to the media against Francona. Also the dumbass that waited a year or so before Fenway's 100th to actually put in a special request to host the All-Star game.

The way the Yankees play has been very frustrating for me. But I am not gonna bitch or moan or anything. I mean the Yankees go to the playoffs almost every single year and will probably even get there next year. So, 2012 if the Yankees don't make it at least I can have a little satisfaction in knowing the Red Sox or Phillies won't be there either. It would be nice for us to be in the playoffs again, but the O'S have not been to the playoffs since god knows when. All that I am truly saying is that if the Yankees don't make it to the playoffs I will be OK, I might try to steer clear from ESPN, and others for a while but other teams deserve a chance too.
Besides, the Dodgers have been my second favorite team for like 3 years now, and if the Yankees don't get in it just means I'm gonna have to cheer for the Dodgers that much more.
Still hoping the Yanks can get in, but they had each and every opportunity to not let the lead dwindle down like this. If the Yankees wind up in third place then I am sorry to say, that they never deserved to be in the playoffs in 2012 to begin with.

I definitely deserve to win Rookie of the Year although I think they're going to give it to Wade Miley. That's fine though cause he definitely deserves it. As long as I don't lose to Bryce "The Faggot" Harper, I won't be that upset.

That's so impersonal. As a better fan than all of you, I have earned the right to use first person.
Ok, so how'd it feel to hit your 31st Home Run of the season and pick up your 12th win, along with recording your 35th save?

I feel good about all those things. I was pretty skeptical when I traded my best prospects to the Padres for me, but I have definitely worked out. I'm excited to see what I can do in the postseason. Having me followed by me is a powerful 1-2 punch.

Wow, hadn't noticed the Yankees and Orioles have a 4-game series coming up this weekend.
Interesting.
Tampa Bay has Texas at home, then Baltimore and New York on the road.
Fuck. If they do well these three series, they outta win the AL East.
