Gattuso is mental, also.

I woke up this morning and put on Sky Sports News and watched the goals from last night and after the final whistle Gattuso goes up to Ancelotti, grabs his head and starts shaking it really hard :$ Suprised it didn't come of.

Gattuso is phenomenal but probably wont get any better than he is now. Spending a stupid sum of cash on him would be an error, despite his obvious quality.

Inter will win nohing; all you brits that 'support' them.. why? WTF is wrong with you? They're rich cunts that have never known where to invest their cash. If anything you should laugh at them. Much more fun.

Finally, well done the Arse... congrats. Although I wouldn't take Villareal as lightly as everyone is suggesting; they have some very good players (Riquelme esp., Forlan on his day), and half of a great side in their name. Good luck to the gunners though.

Rob
04-09-2006, 05:24 PM
And here's Rob Harvey's latest rambling, right on cue.

Rambling? Fuck off.

Arsenal didn't get enough decisions over the last few years (Pires tripping over his own legs aaginst Pompey still stands out) did they? To say it makes it ok not to give a decision just because you got a few years back is fucking stupid. About as stupid as changing the team you support. :p

Okay we won 2-0. That decision happened when it was 0-0 and Eboue could have easy played a big part in the result later. Because we won that doesn't make it ok. He could make an impact in the next 3 games Arsenal play in as well when he should be suspended but I guess Portsmouth, West Brom and Tottenham have nothing to play for.

Interesting article saying which World Cup Team would be worth the most. England apparently coming in top at around $216m mainly due to their fairly youthful defenders all being worth £20mil each and a certain Mr Rooney being worth a hell of a lot more.

BCWWF
04-12-2006, 02:24 PM
The United States looks awful. The team is so different, what happened to some of the old guys? Landon Donovan and Eddie Pope are the only "big name" players that have been in these friendlys.

I think Reyna is playing on the World Cup squad, but what about Tony Sanneh, Brian McBride, DeMarcus Beasley and stuff? And what's the deal with goalies? Casey Keller was it in 1998, then Friedel was dominant in 2002, now Keller is back?

USA just proves why FIFA rankings are flawed.

Have you guys thought about this? What if Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool and Tottenham finish in the top 4, Arsenal win the Champions League, and Middlesbrough win the Uefa cup. What will this hold for Champions league spots? There was all that controversy last year with Liverpool winning the Champions league, now you'd have 2 teams complaining.

Y3J
04-12-2006, 10:19 PM
It's quite simple, the top four would be in CL with Arseholes because they intro'd the rule where the winner gets an automatic place. Boro would be in UEFA cup. Why would Boro winning the UC have an effect? They don't get a CL place by winning the UC.

diothoir
04-13-2006, 01:51 AM
Nah, if Arsenal win, they get the fourth Champions League spot instead of Spurs. Liverpool had to give up their country protection thing to get in, through a loophole. Anyway, UEFA now say only 4 teams maximum can qualify from one country now.

packt up
04-13-2006, 06:42 AM
Yeah if Arsenal win, which looks their most realistic route back in, then Spurs would miss out. That'd amuse me no end.

RBF ({) I guess you did deserve it to be honest. It was like the Arsenal of old (i.e before the invincibles) gorgeous football, guilty of walking it in to the net a few too many times, should have been about 4-0 up only to draw. And yeah LOL at Todorov right in front of Wenger. (Easy) Third Eye city.

Y3J
04-13-2006, 10:25 AM
If Arsenal win, they don't take Spurs' spot. They both get in so we would have five teams. The only reason for the new role (winner gets automnatic place) is because Liverpool had to go through qualifying for this year's CL and they don't want that to happen again.

Team Sheep
04-13-2006, 10:36 AM
Yeah but don't the Uefa cup winners get a birth in the Champions league? That's what I was told before.

That being said, if they don't win in their next 3 they're probably fucked.

Lovely day out at Coventry yesterday, a barely deserved point, abusing their fans and Dennis Wise. Richard Stearman's immense left foot volley in front of a full away end. They do this gay thing where the PA guy introduces away fans to the rest of the ground - "on your left is the Marconi Stand, where we have families and press" - so that was greeted with "WHO ARE YA?" and "SHIT GROUND NO FANS".

In reality the ground was actually quite nice, but you get the idea.

It was gutting cos we didn't deserve to lose. We had controlled the game and we were cruising, then they scored twice. I think we were just knackered after the last week full of games.

The Charlton fans were silent. They call Highbury the library but honestly, The Valley is no better. I am honestly not exaggerating in the slitest when I say they sang 4 times through out the whole game.

There was a blast of "red army" when they scored the equalizer before they went back to being quiet again. Then when they went ahead there was another song, along with a chorus of "going down" and bizzarely "Deano: whats the score?" :| Then silence again. The only other noise was when they booed the team off at half time.

I just hope the result doesn't cause us to lose momentum. Sunderland will be a lot tougher than a lot of people think and I hope the players and fans don't get cocky because we are at our worst when we get cocky. Like when we were top of the league, needing one win to seal promotion and we were at home to Sheffield Wednesday who were deep in relegation trouble. Ended up losing 2-1.

So lets just hope we can try and rest and recharge the batteries for the next week, get Mendes, Stefanovic, O'Brien and Lua lua back from injury and then give it one final push for the last 3 games.

Charlton fans are generally very good fans, its just that we atract the "prawn sandwich" bunch at The Valley these days.

I was at the home game against Bolton and the fans were poor i tryed to get some chants started but I was just given funny looks.

If anyone saw the game we had at Boro u wud know who our real fans are, we sang for 90 minutes, all u could hear when a Boro player touched the ball was boos.

Part of the problem might be that we always finish mid-table so theres really nothing to sing about.

Despite Birmingham offering a chauffer service to take him to Wales to see his parents whenever he needed and despite someone proving Blackburn wasn't that much closer to where his parents lived.

Eventually Birmingham got fed up with it and accepted £3.5m for him, which is more than he's worth since he's about 30 and a bit over rated.

The relegation dog fight

The relegation battle was one of the most dramatic in English history. In each of the last three weekends of the season, the team that was bottom of the table at the start of the weekend finished it outside the drop zone. The final round of the season on 15 May (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_15) started with West Bromwich Albion (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Bromwich_Albion_F.C.) on the bottom, Southampton (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southampton_F.C.) and Crystal Palace (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystal_Palace_F.C.) one point clear, and Norwich City (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norwich_City_F.C.) in the last safe spot and two points from the bottom. For the first time since the advent of the current Premier League in 1992-1993, no club was assured of relegation going into the final day. The final matchday was publicised by Sky Sports (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sky_Sports) as 'Survival Sunday', with accompanying promotional material advertising the last matchday like a title fight or epic movie blockbuster.
West Brom, who had been bottom of the table and eight points from safety at Christmas, did their part by defeating Portsmouth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portsmouth_F.C.) at home 2-0. Norwich, the only side to have their fate completely in their own hands, lost 6-0 at Fulham (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fulham_F.C.) and went down. Southampton lost 2-1 at home to Manchester United (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manchester_United_F.C.). Palace, away to Charlton (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlton_Athletic_F.C.), were leading 2-1 in the second half and eight minutes from safety, but the Addicks' Jonathan Fortune (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Fortune) equalised to consign the Eagles to The Championship. Thus, West Brom stayed up, and changed history, becoming the first club in Premiership history to avoid relegation after being bottom of the table at Christmas.
At the end of 90 minutes in all 4 matches, Sky cameras focused on West Brom's ground, The Hawthorns (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hawthorns), as confirmation of other results began to filter through. Once the realisation dawned on the players and fans that survival had been achieved, a mass pitch invasion (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitch_invasion) was sparked, with huge celebrations. The Portsmouth fans in the away end of the ground joined in the celebrations and party atmosphere—as through losing 2-0 to West Brom, they had 'helped' relegate arch-rivals Southampton. Also, the defeat itself mattered little to Portsmouth, as they would be unable to improve on their 16th position due to 15th-placed Blackburn Rovers' greater points tally.
[edit (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=FA_Premier_League_2004-05&action=edit&section=6)]

Going down...

18th place in the final Premiership table went to Crystal Palace, who drew 2-2 with Charlton Athletic on the final day of the season after being eight minutes away from safety. This made way for West Bromwich Albion's Premiership survival. 19th place went to Norwich City, whose fate was confirmed by a 6-0 hammering at Fulham on the final day—a result which underlined the frailty of their defence, which had leaked 77 goals in 38 Premiership games. Bottom place went to Southampton, who lost 2-1 at home to Manchester United and were relegated after 27 years in the top flight.

He's a bad loser, he's an overrated manager, and next season, the rest of the Premiership will catch up on Chelsea. Next seasons title race is gonna be the closest in years, I can feel it.

Owen, for Jesus Christ himself to descend from heaven, sign for Arsenal and bang in 4 billion goals a game, 150,000 pounds a week would still be fucking obscene.

Understatement of the year.

Liverpool third-choice keeper Scott Carson is primed to get a late call-up to the England squad. (Mirror)

Um what? On what merit exactly does he deserve a call up? His glittering form for Sheffield Wednesday, a team that just escaped relegation to league one, or his magnificent form that nearly saw Liverpool go out of the FA Cup to Luton Town?

I know we aren't exactly blessed with a huge number of English keepers at the moment but surely there is someone better than him?

I am aware that he'll be third choice and wont have a hope of playing, but its the principal, he doesn't deserve a call up just because he is a Liverpool reserve

That'll leave Brum with about 2 1/2 healthy midfielders.

Takes one to know one Owen. Nice to see you pick your phone up :|, I heard D'Allesandro's goal was a beaut so I wanted you to tell me what he'd done, didn't realise it wasn't actually all that amazing like I was told, I was hearing things about it being goal of the season.

And Flair Wooo, I never said he was biased towards Liverpool, just that he is a poor ref who ruins games IMO. He also let Drogba get away with possibly his worst dive ever right near the end, and let Cudicini get away with time wasting in the first half (sounds stupid but he was).

Watched a Fullham game yesterday, it was taped so I dunno when it actually "was". Don't remember who they were playing. Anyway I noticed Brian McBride is on Fullham, I remember him being in the MLS and in this videogame called "Backyard Soccer" I have. He was the man.

Anyway does this make me a Fullham Road Supporter?

Nope Fulham Road is Chelsea, Chelsea and Fulham play in the same part of London so it just so happens that Chelsea have a road near the ground which is called Fulham Road.

Fulham is famed for its Cottage (hence the name Craven Cottage) and also for having the worst fans in the league. They don't sing at all.

Chelsea actually play their games in Fulham, Stamford Bridge was first offered to Fulham but they didn't want it. Now I got a job in London from June my nans offered me the flat she rents out down the Fulham Road to stay in with some mates for the next year, if all goes to plan and the guy we're waiting on gets a job there, then I'll be living in under a five minute walk from the ground.

I bet it was Fulham Vs Wigan you saw Ferrett, and Malbranque scored the only goal, it was played last night at 7.45 English time.

And forgot to post it earlier but I agree, Terry's goal should have been dissallowed. I was in the Stretford End so I had a good view of it all too.
