Gamefly decided to send me CoD: Ghosts because every other game on my list was like low availability or something. Ghosts was one of those games I put on there just in case that situation occurred so I would at least get something. Gonna blaze thru the campaign and sent it back.
Intro to the game campaign is pretty awesome though, I'll admit. CoD still has it when it comes to awesome set-piece moments.
The missions were so fucking random from outerspace ala Gravity shooting terrorist astronauts to scuba diving shooting to Dog Attack unit espionage. At least, they got creative with it aside from drones and chopper attack unit missions! Call of Duty may be overrated but they surely stepped to the plate when it comes to making random missions aside from the typical nation vs nation world war scenarios alot.

It can be very easy. If you level your skills right you can become pretty tough in no time at all. It all depends on your playstyle and how many diff skills you are leveling in. I went for stealth skills and the like at start and found myself becoming godly in no time.
You can always crank up the difficulty slider, though. It's really the thing to do.

Yeah that one chopper attack mission in the middle of the campaign was kinda annoying tbh. The multifaceted one towards the very end (the one where you switch perspectives with a lot more variety)was much more enjoyable. All in all I am actually thinking this is my favorite CoD campaign yet. Hope they do something with the teaser at the end.

^ It's like Mission Impossible's Ghost Protocol plotline.
And the best part was of course Eminem's COD theme song Survival..
Right now, I'm trying to finish this game called Enemy Front. It's like Wolfenstein minus the zombie/cyborg plotline. Instead, you play a Polish soldier in 1939's Blitzkrieg beginning of WWII.

Putting it to expert made it a lot more challenging. Especially not having Lydia at the very end against the dragons. Should have done that earlier in the game but oh well. 35 hours of time played Skyrim's main quest line is finished. Epic game, may do some of the other quest lines that I did not already do at a later time.

Well, the game still scales enemies to your character's level. Also, if you get the "Legendary Edition" on disc or download that update the level 81 cap vanishes entirely and you can level your character up as much beyond that as you please.
Otherwise, you can still go into the options or settings menu and switch between the lowest difficulty (which I believe is "Very Easy" or somrthing like that) and the hardest ("Very Hard"?).

Also, just wrapped up TWAU Ep. 5.
Choices:
● Killed Georgie
● Brought Crooked Man back alive to face trial
● Ripped Crooked Man's head off
● Accepted T.J.'s gift for Snow
● Told Nerissa, "I've made a lot of mistakes."
There was one last decision for players to make before you're brought to the stats screen and credits, which I won't spoil here but let's just say I've already checked the TTG "Community" message boards and there's already discussion in TWAU message boards there about whether it effectively means "THE END" or whether there will indeed be a Season 2. I'm hoping for the latter as I believe the Ep. 5 conclusion leaves a lot of unanswered questions.

Was playing BL2 earlier, and even though I had to resort to a "trick" method, finally cleared the Torgue Tier 3 race mission and got around to clearing Tier 2 and 3 of the 12 O'Clock High battle with my 'Zerker and got the "Motorhead" achievement unlock.
Sitting on a pretty solid 1575/1625G now for it.

I am on to around 66 hours of play and I've hardly touched the main quest; focused on the minor quests and levelling up my character for the inevitable showdown at the end.
I am up to level 100 destruction with master spells; lightening storm spell is bad arse.

No, you are not El Vaq. I don't know if you've got the "Legendary" thing that allows you to level beyond 81 and take any skill you've maxed to 100 and go to the skills screen and reset it to 15, which also gives you back all your invested skill points in that tree back, but if not, it might be worth looking into.

I do have the Legendary edition. If I reset my destruction skill to 15, will that mean I will not be able to use the expert/master level spells or they will take a significant drain out of my magicka?
The Mask
07-19-2014, 03:41 PM
I think you still would because you'd still have enough magicka and whatever armour to use it. Pro-tip though, with alchemy and enchanting you can make it so spells use no magicka whatsoever.
DAMN iNATOR
07-19-2014, 04:43 PM
Yep. A lot of the spells take so much magicka that it would've been impossible to use them otherwise...700+ magicka cost just because it's a Master level skill? UGH.

Dunno, I do know, however that any skill that's reset can be leveled back to 100, lather, rinse, repeat ad infinitum. So once you built your skill back up to Expert or Master level, at that point those skills should still cost the same as they did last time your skill was at 75 or 100 or whatever. Magicka costs do still decrease gradually with level gain.
I've sat around for hours taking one of the magic skills (Illusion, I think) and just spamming the fuck out of one of them. Forget which, but there's one or 2 that you don't actually have to be using in combat to level them up, and that doesn't just go for Illusion, I think Transmute in the Alteration school works like that too (converts Iron Ore -> Silver Ore and Silver Ore -> Gold Ore.)
Hope I helped at least a little.

Pineview Drive. It's like Amnesia meets Dungeon Nightmares because you spend days unlocking doors and collecting notes. And the intro at the gates is so much like Outlast. It has 30 days all in all or 30 levels cos everytime you collect notes, you start a new day with new hauntings ranging from PSSSST voices coming out of nowhere or ghostly children swinging outside the backyard. O__O.
This game may cause sleepless nights to come.

the atmosphere with the abandoned mansion and thunderstorms made me shit bricks. I just needed to take a break from all the usual RPG/shooting games 3rd person genre for some cheap-ass jumpscares that's all.
Better yet, this game is like a Gone Home style of storyline but with the horror elements like that sitting clown or the pictures on the wall turning into ghosts! If you think the game is shit, how come I wasn't able to sleep last night when I'm still stuck on Day 7 on the mansion? Fuuck.

Might want to wait for it to come down a little more. The gameplay is relatively simple, just exploring and investigations. The story is what sets it apart. If a great story is a big draw for you, you might want to go ahead and pick it up.

My wife is from there originally and her entire family is still there. Now that our son is old enough for school, we've reached the 'screw America' climax point. Sure parts of America are great, but I don't want him growing up in the hell hole where I'm from, and NZ is a much better office.

Alien Isolation.
Not really that bad! Only bugs here are the random crashes and the solution is VSYNC Off and admin compatible mode. Alien is REALLY intelligent. Even when I'm hiding in lockers, he knows his surroundings better than a fucking hunting dog, EVEN on Medium difficulty! Still stuck in getting keycards in the labs. Still, it's just as fun as Outlast itself. Reminds me of it too! And I like the crafting items menu.. Well done, Sega!

When is the Telltale game?
Tales From The Borderlands’ release date is as of yet unannounced by TT. I assume they probably want to give people time to experience Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! first. If I had to guess, I’d say there’s a fair chance it may see the first episode released sometime around Holiday ’14 or Q1 ’15, although I will readily admit I have zero source to back that up and that is purely a guess at this point.
In other news, thanks to the often very small XP & $ rewards for completion of side and even story missions in BL: TP-S!, reaching every new level since about 15 or so for me has seemed to be a TON of grinding. Only at level 20 with my Wilhelm the Enforcer character but at least if nothing else, the main story is engaging. I daresay the new kid NPC who replaces Tiny Tina, at least to me, is annoying as all fuck.

Finally finished the main story game of Alien Isolation. Holy fuck. 15 hrs of gameplay and the replay value? I think I'm ready for the Hard mode on this one.. Too bad about the Expendable Crew DLC, it just crashed on loading screen after being killed by alien. And I like how you even choose the movie characters on it as well. Survivor mode is cool too. No multiplayer shit. Thank god. I nominate this for Game of the Year 2014 for me. Although, Last Survivor Nostromo DLC didn't crash and we get to play As Ellen Ripley herself and Sigourney Weaver's voice acting is still top notch just like the original!
P.S. I've done this game on Medium difficulty. The Alien A.I. in later missions, is getting smarter and almost on Hard mode as well. Even tried getting in the vents too to kill me!! Job well done, SEGA. And this is slightly better than the shitty ass Colonial Marines.

Lords of the Fallen
More forgiving Dark Souls.
Dark Souls is super easy once you get the hang of it. Like, stunningly easy. To the point where you can beat the game naked and at level 1. The idea of a game that is more forgiving than Dark Souls, but still "like" Dark Souls, sounds underwhelming. Lords of the Fallen looks fun and Dark Souls-ish, but hearing that it's more forgiving just makes it unappealing. The combat itself looked way easier and not nearly as challenging, so that's a disappointment already. But to hear that it's more forgiving.... than what? You can't really forgive much more without taking away the entire reason Dark Souls is hard in the first place.

Also, I'm playing Fez and it's freaking awesome.
The thing about going for Clean Hands (No kills achievement) is you have to be super careful about where you "drop" unconscious bodies. I made the dumb mistake once too many, i.e. 1× and probably a couple more besides of dropping unconscious guys where I thought there were hidden sections of water and/or rocks. Was still a vast improvement over my last Low Chaos playthrough.
was lucky enough to find and purchase the GotY recently. Had ONE FUCKING KILL in the first stage of Knife of Dunwall. So no Clean Hands or Cleaner Hands achievements for me, fine. I somehow managed to not kill a single person throughout The Brigmore Witches campaign though and got Cleanest Hands which was awesome.
Officially finished BL: TP-S! earlier tonight, raid boss is weak as fuck though, just a repeat of end boss with the word "Invincible" added to his health bar. Motherfucker doesn't even level with your character, I was level 33, he stayed at 29, even though I had barely lost to him at levels 28 and 31. Worst of all, though, although he's farmable his legendary drop rate must be shit. Not ONE fucking orange-rarity item, so pissed.

On a side note, I unexpectedly got Halo MCC yesterday. Once upon a time, I went half on a second controller when my friend got his One so we could do 2 player, and essentially it was "mine", but his kids could use it. Now that I have my own box, I don't need it, so he basically offered me Halo for my half of the controller. "It was an offer I couldn't refuse." Now imagine I said that with the worst Brando imaginable.
Took forever to install, though. By the time it was done, I had to get some sleep to work tonight.

It uses D&D rules but is a MMO. Started a trickster rogue last Tuesday and managed to get to level 28-29 by the end of the weekend. Lotsa fun so far, but I have my reservations about "end game" grinding as Astral Diamond exchange for Zen seems outrageous. It is a FTP game, so I get that.... but hell just the addition of a single race + a 30 slot bag translates to $75USD - no thanks.

Picked up a copy about a month ago of Just Cause 2 because I remembered enjoying it and that I had fallen short of quite a few of the achievements. Actually got "Perfectionist" (For 75+% overall game completion) as soon as last story mission wrapped.
Also got around to playing my Complete Edition BioShock Infinite for the first time in a while the other day, and finished Burial St Sea - Ep. 1, and just started Ep. 2 and holy shit...story is freaking me out and I'm loving it. Lot of Twilight Zone style shit going on.

So, I know I'm WAY behind in this but just finished Burial at Sea - Episode 2 last night, and without saying too much, I think the ending leaves a lot of things open to interpretation. Also, it was good to see Elizabeth get one of her wishes...but at what cost? I'll just leave it there commentary-wise, as I'd hate to end up spoiling anything for those who wish to but have not yet played it.
Managed to finish it in 1998 Mode for the secret achievement, even though I gave up on 1999 Mode (w/no vending machine purchases) @ the Fink warehouse level where Booker has to "audition" or whatever.

WOOOO! Fuck those Uruks!!
Kinda makes me wanna go download the game and play it again.
Downloaded the new-ish Strider. Very fast paced button-smashing arcade-platforming action that is hard to put down. So far, following the Metroid-Vania formula with acquiring upgrades/abilities, re-visiting maps later with said abilities to unlock more shit, blah blah blah, you get it.

They did end the game on a very wet fart, no doubt. They tried to make up for it with DLC, and think they released one where you actually face off against Sauron.

I love the overhauled graphics, although some of the visuals look like they're from around 7 or 8 years ago, and it's EXTREMELY annoying driving around and trying to listen to my jams on Radio Los Santos and a song skips.
However, I did something I'm unsure if I ever accomplished in PS2 version...completed Wrong Side of the Tracks on the first try! Not only that, Big Smoke had killed all 4 Vagos before we were probably even halfway through the train tunnel...not a lot of backtracking back to his house and none of him scream-whining at me that "ALL WE HAD TO DO WAS FOLLOW THE DAMN TRAIN, C.J.!"
