Flares are magnificent in adding colour to games but it's disgraceful when they are thrown onto the field. Disgraceful by the Inter fans...the sad thing is those sorts of incidents happen regularly in Greece and other areas around Europe especially, with flares, bottles, seats etc being piffed on field and hitting or just missing players, officials etc. :nono:
Some pics I found (I haven't seen the incident yet but I will later today)

What about Inter Milan and AC last night? Obviously the game is going to be awarded to AC but will Inter get a ban from next season's competition? Imagine if Liverpool fans did something like that during tonight's game against Juventus. You can be quite sure UEFA couldn't ban ALL English clubs quick enough. Time for them to get tough. Which, of course, they won't.

Gooner that arseblog.com thing is a load of shit regarding UEFA being harsher on English clubs than the rest. What about when Roma got the punishment of having 3 home matches behind closed doors after that incident with the coin hitting Frisk in the head on Matchday 1 of this season's Champions League?
If an English club's supporters chuck flares onto the pitch and hit a player like Inter's fans did they'd get the same sanctions. English clubs were banned from European competitions cos there were incidents in stadiums where cunts died as a result of English hooligans, like Heysel 1985. On that note, I hear there'll be a beef up in security for Juventus-Liverpool tomorrow cos some Juve supporters may feel like "revenge" for that terrible day 20 years ago.
Back to the flares, I thought they were banned fullstop in the Champions League?

Heysel wasn't entirely Liverpool fans' fault, though

To be fair the idiots who stuck up a chicken wire "fence" should have had a bit more sense. In fact the game should probably have never been played there in the first place. Fact is, English hooliganism has died down compared to a few decades ago, the Italians appears to be on the rise and it might take a few deaths for something to be done about it.
And flares should be banned full stop from games, I don't understand what purpose they serve.

Liverpool fans have never said that at the end of the day it wasn't the fault of a number of our fans who caused the deaths of 39 Juventus fans. It was our fault, and Liverpool FC have never shyed away from taking the blame.
Despite this, there were a number of contributing factors which resulted in the incidents, things which were not the fault of Liverpool and would possibly have saved the lives of those people.
The stadium was a complete shithole, it was falling apart. The fans were not segregated properly and the security officer did absolutely nothing to prevent a confrontation between the fans from happening. A lot of people forget that the Juventus fans were throwing things at the Liverpool fans, but of course, the end result is what always happens with hooligans..... its the proper fans who end up getting hurt.
Liverpool fans were responsible for what happened, but I am telling you right now, that if fans from 2 countries were put in an unsegregated area at the European Cup final, then another Heysel disaster would be very very possible

True now you are holding your hands up but to many Juventus fans its all a case of too little too late. I admit I've only watched football for 10 years or so but I can't remember anything from Liverpool about remembering Heysel (sp?) before they were drawn against each other this year. Since then its been like PR city (and rightfully so) but before that I don't remember much about the whole thing from Liverpool.

Liverpool fans remember Heysel, they just don't make it that public because we are ashamed of what happened, this has been the perfect chance to publicly say that the Liverpool fans of 2005 are sorry for what happened. I'm not gonna have a go at the Juventus fans who turned their backs on everything, like the media did, because I can understand how, to some people, its completely unforgivable what happened.
So, 0-0 at half time. Zambrotta is destroying us down their left and Nunez has looked truly inept. Xabi ain't gonna last 90 minutes, and Baros is not trying as hard as he could.
Played well in defence, but I can't see it lasting 90 minutes.

They were throwing stuff at each other, it was instigated by the Juve fans, but aside from the Juve fans attacking one fan and the police, everything seemed to pass off without incident.
I'm sure there is something about it on the BBC website
Mr. Monday Morning
04-14-2005, 08:45 AM
I listened to FiveLive and they stayed live with the commentators after the final whistle and they said on 2 or 3 occasions a flare had been thrown, along with bottles and seats. Apparently it started on one side of the Liverpool fans with the Juve fans throwing stuff, then it started on the other side, and some Liverpool fans retaliated.
Thank God nobody was hurt or anything though.

Rochemback didn't want Newcastle coming down and scoring. Newcastle would have won on away goals. Anyway though im a Porto fan im glad Sporting moved on as the Uefa final is in Alvelade(Sporting home stadium) and it would be cool if they won it on home turf. Viva Portugal!!!!!

Munich was fucking great, pictures to follow lads, what a stadium, what a night, fucking great.
Wish we got Juve, 'Pool are the one team I don't want, I'd rather take AC in the semi's and do Liverpool in one match in the final. I cannot see us getting to the final. Annoying thing is IF we get there I probably can't go, as my uni exams start two days before it.
Still, gunna try and get me a Liverpool away ticket.

I can see Bolton getting 6 points out of 15, possibly 9.

My analysis of today's game is that Man U wanted the win more than Newcastle. Wheneever a Newcastle player had the ball he had at least one United player closing him down while United players had plenty of space usually. Laurent Robert was useless and Babayaro was stuck marking Ronaldo and Neville all first half. Keane, Scholes and Rooney simply controlled the whole game.
I think it was just that Newcastle weren't playing as a team, and United blatently were.

I fucking hate Blackburn they literally are talentless - they are a bunch of hardworking people who are fucking dirty but they don't have one person with class in their entire team apart from Brad Friedel. They are like a shitty version of Bolton minus Diouf and Okocha except with an equal amount of cockends. Todd was a right shithead and Lucas Neil is probably the dirtiest shit in the entire of the Premiership.
As for today we were fucking toss. Carr was as shit as I've seen him all season (and he's been shit a few times) and fucking Nicky Butt was so abject I can't believe it. Seriously the whole team was rubbish barring Boumsong and to a lesser extent Shearer and Ameobi who toiled with no service. The rest of em are shit. yup, admittedly we were awful, an embarrasment to watch. BUt ternent, whilst not improving our game aesthetically, has ensured no team has turned us over. We basically need to match or beat whatever brighton do, and, rotheram aside, west ham and ipswich surely have to beat them. If we get a point at derby then beat cardiff, we're safe. The first thing he said to me was "Owen, you'd know...Who is the captainy guy of Liverpool United? Are they Liverpool United? Anyway." "uh Steven Gerrard? :|" "yeah, i shot him in the arse."

That would almost make the season worth it.

He seriously said "captainy guy"?
<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">"Liverpool United" "Captainy guy" "the black guy with the white hair" "the ginger" were all used by him, and he only realised who Rafa Benitez was when i called him "a balding middleaged Spaniard"

You'd think Harry Redknapp wasn't one of, if not the best Portsmouth best ever manager by the way people are reacting.

You'd think Harry Redknapp wasn't one of, if not the best Portsmouth best ever manager by the way people are reacting.
<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">Well any way you want to look at it, he is not our best ever manager. Not going by win record, nor going by honours won.
Also, no Pompey fan denies he did a great job for us. It just annoys us ever so slightly that he lied and went to our biggest rivals, just over a week after saying he never would and wanted to take a break. Also, his "me me me" attitude was starting to annoy a lot of people.
He had tried and tried and tried to get Milan to sack him to no avail. Anyone who calls their boss an idiot on TV in any other business doesn't keep their job long. But Milan wouldn't sack him and give him the pay off he wanted so he used to whole Zajec thing to his advantage and walked. Then to spite Milan he joined Southampton.
Now before anyone gives it the "oh, you can't blame him for joining them, he has a right to work blah blah blah". He left Fratton Park going on about how great the fans were and how it was the best time he'd had in football and how he'd never go up the road and walked away from the ground on Sky Sports News crying. Less than two weeks later he was on Sky Sports News saying how great it was to be at a "proper club".

Birmingham threw away a lead against Everton :(
Ah well, I had Everton pegged to win that game, so thats helped us quite a lot
They've gotta go to Fulham, Bolton and Arsenal, and I can see them getting....4 points maybe. Newcastle are so hit and miss its hard to say. If we can get 9 points out of our last 12, we've really got a chance.

We've got to beat Arsenal, Everton have to lose to Newcastle at home, as well as the rest
We've gotta win the Champions League if we want to play there next season
Also, Rafa can be so inept sometimes, Baros gets injured....so bring on Darren Potter.

If you go on the BBC there is a score predictor, which lets you guess the scores between now and the end of the season, and then gives you the final table.
Take a look here - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/predictor/default.stm

In the Old Firm, Celtic had a 1-2 win over Rangers. Apparently Petrov was hit with a plastic cup thrown from the crowd when he scored his goal for Celtic, and he went down like a sack of shit.

Carr played well there, as it happens.
I don't know what he was thinking when he took that shot from a stupid angle at the end though.
Also, RBF lad, they closed the Guildhall pubs and police had riot gear, aload of your gay fans were there gaying it up.
Also, Kamara is the greediest cunt ever, if he can't finish, he shouldn't try.

<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">what? Its not like he had any other options, shooting was always the best option, it was never like he would've been better off squaring it.
But yes, he is a terrible finisher. Just like his countryman Henri Camara.</font>

I like Kamara.. supremely skillful.
If it was 0-0 i'm sure he would have passed.
I like his skillfulness, other then that he is just a lanky darkie. That run onfront of the stand I did the blindfold challenge at and he blasted it over from the 6 yard box was horrible RBF, its the main one I meant. But he is definitley greedy.
Shut it Jacko, I bet you give Tiago standing ovations.
