Roy Keane and Liam Miller are both Corkmen. They'd know how to fight dirty, street brawl style.
Djemba looks like a hard nut too. Heinze is a 'tinian, so he probably has a few dirty tricks up his sleeves.
It'd be a good old fight. Arsenal would have a good team for a fight, since they have a lot of black players and black people are better at fighting, and even Pires is a really big fella for a flair player.
Pires is a big girl. Out of Arsenals players, you forgot to mention their hardest player...Jens Lehmann, that guys <s>an angry Nazi</s> physcho,
Thats why I like Drogba, he prolly aint hard, but being big and black makes him look scary.
I was thinking Djemba is probably hard, but he is no match for Makelele or Vieira.
 your crazy, oh how I would love a good old fashioned scrap on the first day of the season. We wont have Kezman but you won't have Rio, we'd batter you. Remember when the Arse showed how pussy your players were last season.
Oh when they tried to get RVN 8 on 1 and all behind his back too? Oh yeah, real tough guys.
Funny how Ryan Giggs and Cristiano Ronaldo squared up to them and they ran like girls. And Giggs and Ronaldo are hardly what you think of when you want hard men on your team.

I'd take Djemba against them. Since when did Makelele get this rep for being a hard nut? When he was rolling around on the floor against Monaco last season ducking out of confrontation?

Pires is a pretty big fucker. He's about 6'2" or 6'3" and pretty tight with it.
Arsenal women are probably more butch that Pires.
El Capitano Gatisto

I disagree. I think Pires could do a bit of damage. Freddy Ljungberg and Edu would let the side down.
Reyes is small, but he's got a psycho temper.
Arsenal women are probably more butch that Pires.
LOL.
But they say you can tell alot about a guys thoughness from his hand shake, and Makelele has a solid hand shake, and is well built, I woudn't fancy my chances against him.
If I could be bothered I would find the pictures from last season, of RvN looking like a pussy, and Lauren making Phil Neville shit himself. Plus Arsenal didnt run when Giggs and Ronaldo came.
I disagree. I think Pires could do a bit of damage. Freddy Ljungberg and Edu would let the side down.

Until he gets a hair cut and shaves his "goatee", Pires will always look like a fucking pussy.

Just got back from the game, and a draw was a fair result. We had the better chances and efforts (Nalis' shot off the bar :'() but after the sending off they had all the possesion but didn't create, with the exception of a Harewood chance one-on-one which was saved by Walker , they were restricted to long range shots.
Didn't really see what Dublin did to be sent off as it was across the other side of the pitch and the players had their backs turned. Brevett was booked for that and his challenge late in the game on Scowcroft probably deserved another yellow.
Also after all their complaining about Harewood playing wide last year i'm not sure the West Ham fans will be happy to hear that Rebrov was forced to play there and drift into the middle on a few occasions.

<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">Edu looks quite tall and he could probably handle himself, he's no pussy.
Gilberto Silva would let the side down though. I saw him on that footballer's diarys show and in his spare time he plays some gay little guitar thing, the woman.
Kolo Toure wouldn't get involved either, he'd just go and grab Wenger to try and help break it up. And ive got a feeling Ashley Cole would pull a knife or something the dirty little cunt.
Roy Carroll looks like he could hold his own too.
Also, Leeds looked poor today. I didnt think they'd go back up, but if they dont improve they'll definatly stay down. Derby were poor also.</font>

Commercially, Owen can make more money for Liverpool than Morientes/Eto'o considering how massively popular he is, and Owen is likely to score goals if he gets the right service from the players.
I reckon Morientes would easily fit into British football, but Eto'o would take quite a while considering when you take into fact what players like El Hadji Diouf and Joseph Desire Job have done in England.
If this stuff about MAdrid handing Liverpool 10 million plus Morientes is true then Liverpool should bite their f****** hand off. Morientes is a much better player than Owen and I would definetly trade.
It will be a real shame if Solskjaer has played his last game. The guy will go down forever as a legend.

He's pretty money-obsessed. Liverpool lost McManaman on a free so why run the risk of it happening again? It was clear that he wasn't going to sign a new contract.
Nine and a half.
Robben, Duff, Lampard, Cole, Parker, Geremi, Makelele, Smertin, Tiago
I suppose Glenn Johnson can be classed as one as he plays there quite often.

I wouldn't take Owen. Not over Ruud or Louis Saha. I would take Morientes over Owen any day.
Decent enough performance by United considering we barely had any players. Like Fergie said it will take until about October to see the real Man U when we have Ronaldo, Ruud, Saha and Rio back.
Oh yeah and Heinze will be back from the Olympics
I have to agree with Rob herre, Owen would be more then loved at United :y:
Woooo, on the plus side we won, on the bad side Eidur Gudfuckingjohnsen scored the goal , the fat shit didnt do anything else all match, yet again he was afraid to jump for anything, and one time when he lost it he ran to get it back, other then that he looked like the bloated dickhead he was last season.
On the plus side Alexei Smertin is the man , he is only the second player (Zola being the first Vs Everton April 2003) who the Chelsea fans have given a standing ovation to after doing something good on the park, cannot fault the guy, if he plays like that all season he will be great. How Terry got man of the match is beyond me, Smertin was the fucking man, my Man Of The Match by a mile. All I could hear from people around me was stuff like "Smertin is quality" and stuff.

Did he get sent off in the final match? Or maybe he was suspended for it? Either way, he had a suspension coming into this season of 2 or 3 games.

When he got sent off against Bolton, they said that the suspension would come into effect 2 weeks after getting the red card, and that Leeds' final game of the season was 13 days later.

think this was due to him being in austrialia with his sick father for about half of last season on compassionate leave.
he got booked and sent off a few times last season as to me he looked as though he was up for the relegation fight but took it to far with his last sending off for i think was a 2 footed challenge. his other sending off towards end of last season was for using his elbow when going for a header (i think) which everyone does, and seeing the replys there wasnt any intention as his eyes were on the ball all the way. (look at big dunc furgerson for example of someone who looks where player is, uses elbow then looks at ball as has done this plenty of times in past).
im not defending viduka for being sent off as if he hadnt he could have given leeds more help in staying up, however saying he didnt do anything last year, wasnt he top scorer or one of top scorers for them with something like 11 goals ??

i would agree that JFH is a better player than Viduka but hopefully they will link well together!
if they want to sulk, mclaren wont have it, he's proved this with juninho and danny mills. juno wants to be in the team which is fair play and id have him in the team everytime. however mclaren feels different.
juno went in a sulk realised it wouldnt help and eventually faught his way back into the team (until mclaren decided he doesnt want him anymore)
if JFH & viduka take that attitude and fight for place they'll be fine but if they just sulk they will get dropped.

Yeah the team is sh</>ite so sack the manager. That will help!
The guy was the assistant coach when Germany won the World Cup and the manager when they won Euro 96. He also won both as a player. In short, he won more than the whole Scotland team put together. His managerial credentials are second to none. I watch all our games and want us to be as good as we can and it's clear as day that the players are letting us down. Gary Naysmith even admits it. Only Quashie and Fletcher played decent last night (Naysmith tried his best as usual but wasn't his night). The rest where pure pish. All Vogts can do is give instructions. If the players can't perform then that's there own fault. Nobody was knocking Vogts against Germany or Holland (the first game I mean obviously).

With Brown we were sh</>ite. Hard to beat my arse. We had as many bad results and never played nowhere near the same standard of teams. I love McFadden but he was garbage last night.
As for Northern Ireland, they went 12 games without scoring a freaking goal! They are nowhere near our league and that's saying something considering how sh</>ite we are. At the end of the day, under Vogts, how many competitive games have we lost? Three. Hey Rob Vogts should have gone a long time ago. We have absolutely no width and no organisation. His competitive record is the following although I can't remember the order of games:
2 - 2 vs Faroe Islands
2 - 0 win vs Iceland
1 - 0 loss vs Lithuania
1 - 0 win vs Lithuania
3 - 1 win vs Faroe Islands
2 - 1 win vs Iceland
1 - 1 draw vs Germany
2 - 1 loss vs Germany
1 - 0 win vs Holland
6 - 0 loss vs Holland
So narrow victories against Lithuania and Iceland. Draws and defeats to Faroe Islands and Lithuania which aren't good enough. A victory against Holland but we were insanely lucky.
With Vogts in charge Scotland lack spirit, directiona nd any sense of organisation. Tell me when Craig Brown was in charge how often did we get beat 3-0 or 4-0 by mediocre teams like Hungary. The people who said we should aim to be like Greece are right. Not in terms of their success because that just isn't happening Greece are proof that with a bit of simple organisation teams can be hard to beat. I also don't believe that Vogts is the best motivater in the world.
Basically he should have gone a long time ago and with him at the helm we are going to really struggle in the World Cup qualifiers.
But then again if you are happy with a shambolic team who have no organisation and get easily get beaten by Hungary, Romania and Austria then that's up to you.

the scottish FA should do 3 things:

i was only saying part time as dont think they could get them away from club football fulltime. O'Neil would do an excellent job (im now talking FT) as has ability to get the best out of players. where as souness would break their legs in training if they didnt perform on the pitch.
either one of them or maybe even david moyles at everton, i think he would do a good job.
also i think rather than a limit on players aged 21 the rule of only 5 forginers (i.e english people aswell in that catagory) would work better as it will mean more scottish players given a chance and match experience!
but what do i care im english bertie keep up the good work :)
Gordon Strachan is definetly the man for the job. He took a by no means great Southampton team who regularly faced a relegation battle each year and turned them into a strong team because he motivated the players and could organise the team.

And I think what RBF meant by the Greece thing is that before the championships none of their players were well known or meant to be that good, they always played against teams better them then, but because of the way they play as a team they won the games. Without their manager they would never have won it, they would have been out in no time like usual, but the manager used the players he had to their fullest and look what happened. No, Dazz, Doherty is terrible. He isn't better in attack, he's just awful.
Every time he lines out for Ireland I cringe. Against Bulgaria on Wednesday night, a friendly played at walking pace, he still managed to make a mistake every other time the ball came in his direction. Almost cost a goal in the first minute.
Luckily Kenny Cunningham is the man.
Steve Carr wanted out of Spurs and was refusing to sign a new contract.
And Newcastle have Aaron Hughes and Andy O'Brien, which is a pretty decent central defensive partnership. With the money they got for Woodgate too, they can get a defender who actually plays more than a quarter of the games Newcastle have.

Huth needs time, he is the fucking man, he just needs to relax abit, but I am pretty sure we wont loan Huth to a team that might (well they wont be but people seem to believe they might) be a threat to Chelsea, I know he wont be able to play against us but he'd still help them do better so we wouldn't loan him to then.

O'Brien is a good defender. Fouling the last man a couple of times doesn't make him a liability. He's the new Martin Keown. Ugly, doesn't give a shit about where he puts his body. Just sticks to attackers like a rash.
He was man of the match for us against Brazil earlier this year. Marked Ronaldinho out of the game.

[QUOTE=legendkiller]Doesn't that leave Newcastle kind of screwed in terms of defenders. QUOTE]
yeh its funny isnt it!
the chairman clearly undermines his manager throughout the summer then after the first game of season he sells one of his better players behind his back (mind you saying that he prob discussed it with robson,he agreed to sell, then pissed himself and forgot about the whole thing).
woodgate only played 37 out of a possible 128 games while at newcastle (as per teletext) im wondering how many he completed ? i think it is good business as he wont last a full season so would most likly play the defenders he has now anyway.
if robson is allowed to spend any of the money (which i think he wont as will be gone by christmas) i think he will go for dawson from forrest!

Dawson is a good call.
if they get him that will be a robson signing, he has a think about signing lower league players and turning them into premiership players.
if the sign huth then that is a freddie shepard signing.
who do people think will replace sir bobby?
if its at end of season then martin o'neil but if its mid season then i think it'll poss be strachan if still available. dont think shearer is ready for it yet.

Martin O'Neill probably wouldn't leave Celtic for Newcastle. I know a lot of Celtic fans and season ticket holders, and all the talk from them seems to be that around Celtic, the understanding is that O'Neill will eventually take over at Old Trafford, at the end of this season or the season after.
Yes but there are always rumours, the reason that O'Neill is linked with United is it seems the obvious choice. Celtic and ManYoo have a similar connection to that of Chelsea and Rangers used to. O'Neill has been the man at Celtic and was great at Leicester, everyone expects Fergie to be the next big manager to go, so O'Neill will always be linked, I think its all rumours. I do believe that O'Neill will be their next manager but thats my opinion andf its one I have held for along time, people could pass of rumours like that as being Gospel because everyone thinks it.

I think it's more down to O'Neill really loving Celtic, and having the chance to test himself in Europe regularly, and that he would only leave there for a really big job.
He could go to Newcastle, but you have to say his chances of breaking the monopoly at the top would be slim. I think he'd rather go to a top club he would could propel to genuine greatness.

So United haven't proppelled to geniune greatness then? Being the best team in the last decade in England and consistantly reaching at least the quarters of the Champions league (I know they didnt last year, Mourinho  ) isn't bad going. :p

I didn't say they hadn't, but I mean from the point O'Neill takes over, he has the chance to manage a team capable of dominating a top league and Europe.
Forlan's no loss. I feel kind of sorry for him because he did try his best but in the end he wasn't good enough.
Forlan tried his heart out but nobody wanted him to suceed since the first day he arrived. He has been unlucky at United. For his country, the man has been a class act so you can't say he is no good when he can perform at that level.
Best of luck to him at Villareal.
As for Scotland, we'd be just as bad regardless of the manager. The players aren't performing. Simple as that.
Got to agree with you there. I have a feeling he would be good if given a solid run in the team but I don't think he is as good as Ruud, Saha or Smith and he can't do much when he is only given 10 - 15 minutes on the pitch. Best of luck to him. Thanks Diego for all the effort.
He'll come back to haunt us. And I'll cheer for him. The guy only had 7 Premiership starts last season. Sounds real fair.

why would you cheer for any player who came back to haunt us? :|
he won't do anyt such thing anyway. He has a tendancy to pull spectacular goals out of nowhere, but he also has a way of pissing absolutely everyone off. Much like Fabien Barthez really.

Ledley King would be great.
Need another defender now. Hughes - O'brien is fine but if fucking Bramble comes in again
Woodgate situation is basically forced upon us once he even hints that he wants to move so the price isn't bad for such an injury prone player.
And :( at Forlan leaving. I'll miss cheering him whenver he came on and all the laughs he gave me

OK LAST ONE
Yeah Beattie mad indecisive over questions over his future - no way he wants to stay so he'l be on his way soon.
Yeah Beattie answered those questions horribly, could have handled it much better. Apparently the second yellow was aimed at Toogay.
Joe Cole is the man, I always wanted the guy to have a good run in the team as I think he should be a first team regular.

Jo Lescott is back :love::love::love:
Unfortunately it's only cause we have so many injuries :-\ At one point Oakes would've been playing at left-back :|
Christ, I don't want to go to Rochdale on Monday. I just have a bad feeling about it :-\ At the moment we have out:
Naylor
Kennedy
Ganea
Cort
Cooper
Sturridge
Bjorklund
Ndah
and Miller picked up a knock today as well :|
Miller was fu</>cking woeful on Wednesday night anyway so it's probably no loss.
Berger's goal was amazing. Made Smith's look like a tap in.

IS A WANKER
IS A WANKER
haha, that's just a song we used to sing to him each time he played against us after he got one of our players sent off. I'll never forget it because one Saturday afternoon he was on the receiving end of it for most of the match. He let in 6 goals that match. It was a great game.
I fucking hate Kasey Keller, he would be in goal if I was to pick my team of players I absolutley dispise of.

Haha, has anybody seen the clip of him back in the day, maybe it was France 98 qualifying, but he punted the ball right into a Mexican (i think) guys head and it went right back into the goal? Haha, priceless.
Because he is a cheating cunt who brings players down in the box, time wastes, has a face that is just asking to be punched, plays for fucking Spurs. Even at Milwall I didn't like him, stupid yank twat.

You just described half the Chelsea team.
2 random thoughts I had while watching the football today
1 - South London water must be funny. Julien Speroni was never that crazy at Dundee.
2 - That arab bastard Southampton manager still has my Skynyrd CD.
You just described half the Chelsea team.
Half the Chelsea team plays for Spurs eh?
And yeah watching the highlights, Carvalho pushed someone right after Ferriera handled the ball in our box, other then that we have no cheats. Makelele is a changed man. You have more cheating cunts then us.
