Its safe to say this is over...let the Celts 'fans' get their chant in, we were chanting that three straight years only a few years back, and you cant win them all....in closing...
congrats....the Celtics are the 2008 NBA champions. Congrats to them and their *REAL* fans (im talking fans since day one, who actually watch basketball....not fans of a player or who all of a sudden bleed green and white).
As a basketball fan im proud to watch a storied franchise win another championship.
As a Laker fan since birth, im disappointed but optimistic in this young team. We did not deserve this championship, and there is no reason than this game to see why...defense wins championships (ask Phoenix).
Give the Celts this one, but hear this....this wont be the last time you see the Lakers face the Celtics in the finals...
Next year:
PG - D.Fisher
SG - K.Bryant
SF - L.Odom
PF - P.Gasol
C - A.Bynum
Ariza will be back and fully healthy (who i feel should have been guarding Pierce the whole series).
....look at that lineup for one moment, and tell me how different the inside buckets would have been, on both sides of the ball.
.......see you next year Celtics. You wont go back to back.

Nah, JS, wait and see man. Next year with Bynum... it will be amazing.
Also, Jeri, don't worry bout the bet. Change your title to Boston shit or whatever. They were the better team, and deserved to win. Congratulations.

You can't count on Bynum though. He just had a very serious injury.
It's very possible we have all ready seen the best of Bynum.

....and yes, i am watching this to the bitter end. I watched our team go from 'wont win shit' at the begining of the season to NBA finals...and i will go down with the ship just as proudly as when i pumped my fist and got chills watching Kobe pump his fist standing tall on the announcers table back in 2000

I'm really not gonna like hearing all the great Celtic stories this off season though.
I follow the NBA, so blow me.
Finally glad to see KG win the big one with some competent players.
I was actually referring to the 4 texts i got giving me shit for the loss.
Anywho, as a "Laker cocksucker" I have to say that although I'm not proud of how we fell part in game 6, overall I'm proud of the strides this team made.

before going down, he avg 20-10- and 2 blocks. If thats the top of the ceiling, thats still plenty to get us passed anyone.

Yes I know, but I'm saying he could never be that good again. He could easily go back to being what he was before.
I'm not saying that's gonna def happen, but I don't know if I would get my hopes up about him.

thats funny....im sure you were talking just as much shit last year when they won 24 games huh. Or maybe when the Wolves and Celts GM sucked each other off like they were back when they played together in Boston to miraculously get Garnett to Boston.
Seriously though, congrats....it feels good to see the home grown talent win....i mean, Pierce has been there through hell....and......wait, thats the only player thats been there for the entire career.
You guys literally gutted your entire fucking team to get this championship, dont get all slap happy like the Miami Heat fans did a couple years back...
and more importantly, dont whimper when your team sucks one season then swing your baby dick out proudly when they finally win one.

I am not a Celtics fan. I just hate the Lakers and Kobe Bryant more than I hate the Celtics. It is the same reason I cheered for the Giants in SuperBowl XLII. I hate the Giants, but I loate the patriots.
I live in Texas, I have to love the Spurs, Cowboys, and FC Dallas. (Ironically, I hate UT and am an avid OU fan).
I think we definitely need to ship Vladimir's ass out of LA during the summer.

lol KG talking straight up nonsense after the game. Whatever though, dude came to play in the biggest game of the year. The only thing I could understand from his post game interview was the truest thing, "WHAT CAN THEY SAY NOW?"
Can't believe it just ended like this........Completely ridiculous, wonder what Boston is like right now. I stayed away 'cuz I had a feeling Celts where gonna come out with a W.
Unbelievable................#17 motherfuckers. Greatest NBA franchise by far

I'm incredibly happy for Ray Allen. I like all of the big 3 but I've been a Ray Allen fans since Seatle. Congrats to him most of all.
Like I said earlier in the thread, I'm not necc a fan of either team. I was backing the Lakers more in the series but regardless, huge props to Boston, especially The Big 3 and Doc.
I feel like I just got dumped or stood up at the big dance. :(

I really still can't believe the Celtics just blew out the Lakers...wow what a crazy fucking NBA playoffs, going to Game 7 with the Hawks and not winning on the road until the Eastern Conference Finals then the NBA Finals.

turns out Ray Allen's kid was in a diabetic coma... wow, even more reason to say wow... he still played like that with that on his mind.
Why would you go play basketball if your kid is in a diabetic coma? Thats pretty sad tbh.

The kid wouldn't have noticed he wasn't there, and playing basketball is how he is going to pay those medical bills.
