it reminds me of the Sonics around 3-4 years ago where they had a hot hand and dwindled towards the end
Then Spurs knocked them out in the playoffs.
Crimson
12-16-2007, 09:09 PM
Are you kidding me..the Sonics didn't have 3 former all stars. And everyone was picking the Spurs in a sweep or 5 games..but the Sonics gave em hell for 6 games. I agree the Celts will break if they keep playing those guys 40 minutes a game..but I don't see the comparison to the underdog Sonic team.
McLegend
12-16-2007, 09:28 PM
Yeah every now and then I would just give one of the "Big 3" the night off. Or have set of predeterminded mintues for them.
They average 40 mins a year then they are gonna have an early playoff exit.
Ninti the Mad

Im comparing their hot start.

Lakers 14-9, headed into a 4 game east coast trip. We should leave at 18-9, but I will settle for 17-10, as well. Games are @ Chicago, @ Cleveland, @ Philly, @ NY

lol
We had Parker and Elson injured and not playing.
Ginobili is injured and still playing hoping for guys to get back so he can take some time to recover.
Duncan played well after coming back from injury so I will excuse him.
And you barely beat the team.
I wouldnt talk. Especially when you got dominated in the paint. You should'nt have got rid of Thomas as he was key with Duncan albeit in a smaller fashion.
RoXer
12-18-2007, 11:32 AM
Yeah, I'm not really saying anything after that win.
But I do know we don't need Thomas.
Ninti the Mad
12-18-2007, 11:38 AM
He's another body to put against Duncan to keep Stoudamire out of foul trouble.
He wasnt the best by any means but he was big and good enough to hassle Timmy a bit.
Ninti the Mad
12-18-2007, 11:39 AM
Duncan had what... 36 points 17 rebounds?
Thats crazy for coming off injury and a lousy 8 point return.
Defense man.

Amare sucks at it man. He spend too much time getting all wet for throwing down dunks and shit on the other end. Skynyrd cant really handle Duncan and Matrix doesnt have the size.
DaveWadding

and I highly doubt That Eason Guy would have had that much of an impact. Just sayin.
Ninti the Mad
12-18-2007, 02:00 PM
Thats why I said Thomas was important.
Suns have all the potential but lacking that defense really will hurt come playoff time.
McLegend
12-18-2007, 04:03 PM
Thomas had to be dumped because of luxury tax issues.

Would Suns fans Like a deal to trade Amare for either Rasheed Wallace or Marcus Camby?
I would, but they never would do it. I was a huge proponent of the rumour from over the summer that involved Banks and Amare to Atlanta in a 3 team that netted us KG. Amare gets casual fans all hot and bothered because he throws down dunks, but his fundamentals are terrible. He sells tix so...
but I'd be iffy on Camby because of his injury history.
SammyG

Lakers 15-9. Really feeling great about this season. If we stay injury free... look out.

I think Steve Kerr might be able to pull the trigger on that. Rasheed on the Suns would be awsome though.

That makes absolutely NO sense. And I expect a good game on X-mas, despite the Lakers being pretty shaky down the stretch tonight against da Knickerbockers. 3-1 road trip, I'll take that. Tough 3 game home stretch now, Phoenix, Utah and Boston comin to town.
Suns vs Lakers will end in a tie.
ROFL Bulls fire Scott Skiles on Christmas. Stay classy Chicago!

ddpBANG
12-30-2007, 08:28 PM

SammyG
12-30-2007, 08:30 PM
Lakers Celtics in 90 mins. GOD, a win over Boston would be beyond glorious

12-30-2007, 08:31 PM
If Denver loses tonight to GS, we'll be tops in our conference.
McLegend
12-30-2007, 08:39 PM
Obviously Portland is better then the sixers, but that was still a huge collapse. Sixers choked there
ddpBANG
12-30-2007, 08:45 PM
I dunno about choked. They were definitely over-matched. The Blazers have been DOMINATING in the 4th.
McLegend
12-30-2007, 09:18 PM
Yeah they didn't hit a shot until like 4 mintues left or something like that.
I would consider 4 technicals 3 on players to be a meltdown. Not taking anything way from the Blazers though.

12-30-2007, 11:49 PM
Jesus Christ the Celtics are fucking ridiculously good. Like, are you kidding me.

4-0 on the western road trip
The Celtics could realistically have one loss right now, the Pistons game ended on free throws with no time left and I'm pretty sure one of their other 2 losses was real close too (can't remember if it's the Magic or the Cavs)
What the hell was Lamar doing last night though? He like body checked Ray Allen into the bench then they both got called for technical fouls? lol the hell?

SammyG
01-06-2008, 04:10 PM
Pacers aren't too terrible. I still expect us to win by at least 10 though.
This is gunna be such a bad loss for the Lakers. This will be the game where Kobe gets pissed and asks for a trade. I'm thinking atleast a 35 point win by Indiana and i think Granger will score 47pnts.
SammyG
01-06-2008, 04:25 PM
mmmmmmmk. I'll shut up until after the game.
We shouldn't lose this game, but if we do I'm guessing it'll by less tan 10 points, hell maybe even less than 5.
SammyG
01-06-2008, 09:17 PM
lol dude. We are not gonna lose to the Indiana Pacers.
SammyG
01-06-2008, 11:58 PM
21-11. Lakers didn't really play that great of basketball either, Fisher really stepped it up though. God, I love his contributions to this team. Pacers really have lots of work to do. And yes, Marquis Daniels is a member of the Ying Yang Twins
We're so lucky Fisher took the pay cut to come to LA. That and that Bynum is developing nicely.
Jesus Shuttlesworth
01-09-2008, 02:16 PM
I guess Ray Allen had a pinched nerve in his neck or something...I hope it isn't too serious
SammyG
01-09-2008, 06:30 PM
I hope it is, for the sake of the Bulls record. Also yeah Huracanrana, Fisher has been a godsend this year. Bynum is also a beast, yes. HUGE game today against the Hornets. 2nd game on a back to back, Hornets have won 8 out of their last 9, and are at 23-11. Also, they have been rested, this is their first game in 4 days. If we can win this one, it would be tremendous.
God damn, this is what I like to see. Balanced scoring with no one over 20 points and a very decisive victory. Granted, the Hornets are 9-7 when playing at home, but still, great to watch!
SammyG
01-10-2008, 12:02 AM
Holy shit dude, yeah, fuck. 23-11. If the Pacers weren't so fucking ridiculous during overtime, they woulda beat the Suns, and we woulda had 1st in the pacific I believe, and 3rd in the West overall. Meh. 23-11 is amazing. And we got some easy ones coming up, we just gotta sustain the energy. 26-11 here we come.

Lakers win by 1. They shouldn't have won, as Kwame fouled the shit outta the Memphis player that went up for that layup with like 3 seconds left, but it wasn't called. So we get a bullshit win, and Bynum is out for probably a long time. :(
SammyG
01-14-2008, 01:00 AM
He said he can put weight on it, and move side to side with no pain. Kinda hurts to take a step forward, though. No way it is an ACL or even an MCL, probably a sprain. Should be about 2 weeks. Coulda been WAY worse. We gotta wait for tommorrow though, for his MRI, keep ya fingaz crossed.
Word. I wish Mihm was at 100% though...

lol wadding, are you fucking kidding me you fatass? Playing without Bynum, starting KWAME BROWN at center, and having a backup center in RONNY TURIAF, who is a PF, and you're bragging? You even almost let the game slip away in the end. Phil was a bad coach tonight, he shoulda put KB24 in way earlier in the 4th, when it was down to 8. Whatever though. This is gonna fucking suck by the way, Kwame Brown was SO ATROCIOUS tonight. Worst game EVER. We need to sign Webber now. Hell, I want him signed by tommorrow, since Mihm is sitll a bitch, and won't be back for another 2 weeks. Vlad-Rad still out too. Yeah dude, you should really brag about the Suns win, considering we are still up 2-1 in the season series, and you barely beat us when we are missing about 5 players.

Im saying someones presence opens up shots for others (see:Kobe Bryant). Therefore, yea...ive seen the Lakers 2nd unit put up 70+ in a single game, because a spread offense is much more efficient, and having Radman on the court would open shots for a Farmar and vice versa.

SAN ANTONIO - Media speculation about a trade between the Lakers and Chicago resumed this week, several months after Bulls general manager John Paxson declared a possible deal between the teams dead.
During training camp, Kobe Bryant was rumored to be headed to Chicago for a package of players before Paxson said in early November that there would be no trade.
However, the Chicago Tribune's Sam Smith suggested a new deal the other day in his NBA column, with the Lakers acquiring power forward Ben Wallace in exchange for center Kwame Brown and backup forward Vladimir Radmanovic.
Smith's reasoning was sound, although he acknowledged it was not based on anything he has heard from the Bulls, Lakers or any other league sources.
Lakers coach Phil Jackson has always coveted strong rebounders and defenders to play alongside his centers. A tag-team of Wallace and emerging standout Andrew Bynum (once he recovers from his kneecap injury) could raise the Lakers' title prospects.
The deal also helps the Bulls clear space under the salary cap.
Wallace has two seasons after this one remaining on his contract at a total of $28.5 million.
Brown has $9 million left on his expiring contract.
Radmanovic, who is making $5.6 million this season, is signed through the 2010-11 season.
Smith theorized that Radmanovic's contract might be more than the Bulls would like, but it is a good deal less than they're due to pay Wallace for the next two seasons.
The trade deadline is Feb. 21.

Thats how the Pacers stay bad. They stay around the 8th or 9th spot, usually sneaks into the playoffs negating a good pick, but by chance they dont, they trade there pick to a up and coming team for broken down 3 point shooters who sit out playoff games with back tightness.

Gasol is over rated.
He is solid, but not spectacular. I think he is a great fit in LA though. Just what they needed.
The Pick is not that lopsided.
Grizzlies get a young (ast year first rounder) PG so they can live without Stoudemire, they get Kwame's expiring contract so that they have 10+ million in cap space to sign a FA, and they get 2 additional picks (Picks are fast becoming much more valuable in the NBA) to use as potential trade bait. Not at all. Since Shaq cant move and he might have the worse contract in all of the NBA.

damn did we look good despite no Bynum and Kobe only putting up 8. Good debut for Gasol, and i can only imagine how lethal we will be when we move him to the 4 when Bynum comes back. Bynum, Gasol, and Odom in the front court is gonna give opposing teams fits on the boards and defensively.

No KG tonight, I hope it isn't something really serious, I really haven't heard much about it. Celts ended up losing to the Cavs by 1, eh whatever if they meet up in the playoffs I can think the C's will be able to handle them.

Dude. All he's saying is that we are pretty much amazing right now, and when Bynum comes back, it's gonna be even better. Kobe doesn't have to be great every night now.
