When you get Assassination Missions with Lester/Franklin always follow his advice after doing the killing. He'll tell you what companies will be positively affected by killing the target.

There’s plenty of havoc and treachery you can cause out in the open world of course, but in order to prevent some really annoying “griefing”, we’ve designed house party invitations specifically to be a friendly social affair where players can visit each other’s pads without fear of having them ruined or losing their hard-earned vehicles in the process. If someone invites you into their property, then it is considered a friendly visit and you will not be able to shoot up their place or steal their cars from their garage. By the way, in any given lobby, if you and another player own the same piece of property, you will each be able to enter your own personal instance of that property at any given time. You will also be able to enter each other’s instance of that property if you exchange and accept an invite. This way, multiple instances of ownership of the same property within a lobby can co-exist.

I was very interested in that scenario, glad they have a good work-around.

Character creations seems cluttered with the whole pick-your-parents thing. I would have been fine with simply balancing your starting stats and molding your physical look. We'll see how it turns out later.

Everyone seems to be losing their shit over the cash injection microtransactions online, but I'm not sure how to feel about it. Sure, it brings an element of pay 2 win, but it's not really a game where the cash makes you much better or the game easier. Have to see what happens.

Depends on how grindy it is for cash, among other things.

You mean the choosing your parents and lifestyle etc? It's used to determine your default stats and probably your looks. I've not been online yet but it's what I've read.

Also, crews can have gang colours. I suggest ours be red and black with yellow trim, if possible. Based on the default TPWW banner.

Actually, you can insult people as Michael or Franklin, you just have to get the first couple of comments out of the way (usually a generic greeting, such as hey, what’s up, how are you), and usually from the 3rd one on, when you focus on any civilian you will usually say something insulting. It resets with each new person you talk to, though.

Servers equal money. Companies will always go cheap.

What is surprising (if only a little) is that they couldn't even keep the Social Club up pre-launch.

More problematic because things like your camera are tied to it so there were offline missions you got stuck on if the online features were down. Online features for an online game that wasn't online yet.

Oh, cool thing happened to me whilst last playing. Wasn’t even a heist (the most I will say is it was a Strangers & Freaks end-quest), and in one swoop, I managed to net Michael a nice, tidy little $2.1M payoff all to himself. :cool:

For those that must know, in the end mission for the Epsilon folks, you follow them in a powder blue car to where they are supposed to airlift all that loot to an offshore acct. in the Cayman Is. but the game lets you decide to either let them take the $$$$$$, turn away from the convoy and try and evade the cops and Epsilonists, or you can simply kill all the Epsilon guys and try to evade the cops, and either of the last two options gets you that cash.

I can't even get past the race in online gets stuck on launching session. Even tried restarting in a solo session, but it gets stuck on the loading screen. Ah we'll, maybe it will be a little better by the time I come home from work.

Yeah I find that disappointing and also odd that it still pops up as a potential heist member even after the story mode... maybe they should have had a "game plus" type dealio... kind of like batman with all of your contacts stored already so you could use them.


Maybe the moral of the story is we all shouldn't have blown our loads doing the storyline as fast as possible... I just was reading about how to get $2 billion but I did all the missions that affect earning money and waited too long.

Trying to land an apartment. Gonna take a lot of robberies and missions. It seems maintaining a car is about as expensive as real life. I wrecked about 4 so far or got them impounded on my dime. Gonna just steal cars for a bit until I have a place to park it. I saw some cheap apartments for 5 figures with 1/2 car garages, that's a start.

Starting jobs is a lot smoother now than launch. They don't pay out much more than simple robberies. When Heists get unlocked for everyone that's where the big money is. Until then I suggest you grind money with simple jobs. Deposit often and try not to die; it doesn't tell you but you still get charged for medical expenses. Much less than the main game much payouts are less too... it adds up pretty fast.

Gonna be back on later tonight. Anybody wanna meet up and do some jobs? Anybody still having trouble getting on?

6-7 minutes. BUT YOU CAN finish it as a solo player thing. It's the matchmaking that's really slowing things down.

From what I've heard it's just a matter of chance. I've tried doing solo but waited just as long with no results. Best method I've read is just dash boarding till it lets you in.

Once you're past the tutorial mission apparently there are no issues connecting. It's just that first part that's causing trouble.

Gonna try a few more times, but if it doesn't work I'm just gonna leave it alone for a few weeks. I've got quite the backlog of games to keep me occupied while they fix this.

My mistake was that I was actually able to finish the race, buy clothes and perform a hold-up as part of the Tutorial. I was then asked to meet somewhere to develop my shooting skills. I got there, it showed me how player matches work or something, I then was returned to the map and allegedly the tutorial was over maybe? I then deleted the character to try for a different look and haven't been able to reconnect at all.


I kept trying to join my sons game as he was able to get on without doing the race at all and was running around chatting with other players. He would send me an invite, but it said we were using different content (maybe glitched because he couldn't do the tutorial because the Race Trigger disappeared and he couldn't find it)...I dunno.

As soon as they get the bugs ironed out, this could be alot of fun.

And yeah, I got in by loading the online waiting a few minutes, dashboarding, then trying again. Took about 5 tries, but I've heard it varying for everyone.

So worth it though. Already had some great moments.

First this dude kills me AND takes my personal vehicle while I was robbing a store. So I respawn and rob another one just to get some cash back. This gets me 3 stars with a helicopter, so I decide to bring this party to the guy who killed me. Only to find that he also has a copter shooting at him. So I join the chase and even get the last shot on the car, blowing it up and giving me the kill. Granted it was my car, but wtf its insured and you can't put a price on sweet vengeance.

Next I was just cruising along and came across a guy getting killed by cops at a store. Picked up his cash and high tailed it out of there. Surprised I didn't get hate mail for that one.

The little bit that I did get to play had me holding up a 24/7 store. Some guy that had already killed me twice, came after me again. Only this time I had a 2 star wanted level, so he got roped into a gunfight because the cops had me pinned down. I ran off a d left him stranded there so I could continue the tutorial.

Its a weird system at character creation, you must have gotten at least that far. Once your playing it builds kinda like it does in single player. You get bonuses for headshots and whatnot. Your XP builds as you do activities (I've only been able to hold up a store before it craps on me). You get pluses for killing other players as well, but I'm not sure how that works yet. It also seems lile there are more For Sale signs about than I recall seeing in Single Player.

I just offline after being on there for 4 hours. It took a few restarts to finally get the race to load up. After you finish that, buy clothes, rob a store then go to Cypress Flats to get a quick "Know how" for how some of the multiplayer elements work, getting connected should be easier. I've been able to jump right on ever since getting the beginning crap done.

I got a random text from Simeone and he unlocked buyable properties for me....except getting the money together is gonna be a bitch. The most I've been able to get is from holding up some places that it lets you. Provided another player doesn't do it first, then you gotta try to chase THEM down and steal it. It was fun. I'm not sure how to do any Crew related activities yet though.

I have a car I customized, but it got impounded because I got killed by cops. Now I gotta try to steal it. Awesome stuff.

Yeah, took me about an hour and a half of constantly restarting before I got in. It was a fairly long wait for the race to start, but I just let it load until i started (about 10 minutes by that point.)

I had other things to do around the house so I had my son keep an eye on it for me.

BTW anyone in the TPWW crew should check their crew status if they are in another crew. It automatically puts you in the first one you joined.

After the first two missions you're in Free Roam and you can take or deny any job. From there the world's yours. You have missions from characters like the main game you can take and invite players to join. Or you can find missions, races, and deathmatches to start with other players (should they join).

When you level up you get access to more options and weapons. I got level ten playing with RoXer, Figs, and Alva and now I can put a bounty on any player in the session (which other players can take on for cash reward). For now you just focus on character missions and easy solo jobs. Robbing stores is quick money, too. You will not be able to afford an apartment any time soon so be patient on that. Content Creation didn't launch yet.

Had some fun with the guys, even thought we had some growing pains playing as a team. We gotta plan things better, and probably inject some stealth into our actions. A mission had a gang kick our ass until Alva thought of simply ramming the car into them, with Fig going all die hard later on. If we're not on the same page things are tough.

How would you guys feel about pooling our cash for big buys like an apartment? We could use a base of operations.

Survival missions pay out really big apparently. Dunno what level they unlock though.

Best way to lose the cops I've found is to go through either the subway system or the construction tunnel from the first heist in single player. No one follows you in no matter how many stars you have.

-on the last leg of a mission, I almost died when the shallow water all of a sudden went 10 fathoms deep and sunk my car.
-upon finally reaching a long destination and running from cops, a second helicopter spawned above the first cop helicopter, causing them to both explode and kill us.
-when setting up a getaway from a gang, the cars we positioned for our quick retreat just sorta...disappeared.

There should be an appeal system for shit like that, some way you can plead your case. I had the same problem. I was told to clear the Xboxs cache and enable cloud storage and to try again. I did that a few times and it eventually worked.
I also loaded my story file as Micheal, then moved to Franklin, then moved to Trevor and then my character but I doubt that helped.

After the race, it went to another endless load screen but I reloaded and it's worked fine ever since.

At first I didn't really care, I enjoyed screwing around and doing whatever, but Kalyx is right. If you want to actually do things in this game, you need money. You need to stop dying. I'll put it in bold letters here because nobody reads my posts.

I did one mission. I gained $1000 for that mission. We went back to freeroam. Some dude killed me while I was messaging. He killed me again when he ran over me. He killed me again while I was actually trying to stay alive.

Hospital bills are anywhere from $800-$1300.

All in all, I spent about 10 minutes on that mission and had $1400 less than when I started.
