Speaking of money, does anyone know how the money for custom races etc is calculated? I had a race that I made with one check point. You raced from the airport to the Vinewood Bowl with no fixed route. It pays a little over $700.
I thought it might be the number of check points rather than distance that calculates money so I made a race using the maximum number of check points but the money was no better.

My mental state shot up by about a bar when I wasn't even playing. Also money vanished from my ingame bank. I thought that happened a few weeks ago when I robbed a view convenience store and the money vanished when I played next time but I wasn't sure. Now I know it's happening.

Plus, I've never glitched or bought a Shark Card but I'm still doing pretty well.

I've got the most expensive apartment in the game and a house in Paleto Bay. 10+ customised cars, including a Turismo R I've really souped up. Every available item of clothing. Something like 98% of the available guns with a lot of upgrades and ammo to go with them. I've still got over half a million in my ingame bank which I'm saving up for my biggest purchase.

I'm doing fine without the glitches. I do consider myself a "Bounty Hunter" in the game, including Lesters random assassination missions. So it does add up pretty quickly.

I've never bought a shark card myself. As far as glitching goes, I've only done a DNS modded lobby once with just one of my friends. Ranked up 40 times in that 20 minutes. Mostly just by pissing the cops off and then hiding in the subways. Each time we lost the cops, we gained like 8 ranks.

Moneywise, I ran over a pedestrian and picked up almost 2 million dollars during that session. Then I reset my DNS back to normal and cleared the cache and things were normal for about 3 weeks. I then unknowingly spawned in a modded lobby after a race and someone gave me 14 billion, then someone else gave me another 20 million.

Rockstar then redid everything, removed modded monies, ranks, etc. All but $50,000 was taken from me and they dropped my rank to 74, which was about 20 higher than what I had before the modding, etc.

Now, I'm sitting at 77 or 78 with a little over $100,000 in the bank. I sold my Roosevelt (that mafia car thing) and bought a slew of weaponry and the Paleto Bay house. It's actually a little more enjoyable to play now.

Yeah, the earning of money to buy specific things is what makes the game enjoyable for me. Up until very recently, my motivation was buying all the clothing. I have everything I want and, with no one from TPWW playing online, I'm losing enthusiasm for online.

Oh, something hilarious from a fairly recent session. I was in a private session with my son (12) and some kid he knew (about 9 years old or so). He was bragging how his parents had just gotten him two Shark Cards just so he could buy a million dollar car, or something. My son immediately started whining to me about how his parents buy him EVERYTHING and why can't he get cards like that, etc. I said it was because he wasnt a SPOILED FUCKING BRAT like the other kid apparently was. IMMEDIATELY, the other kid flips out then I can hear, what I believe was either his mother or some other relative, yelling at him for yelling then at me for what I had said.

Was probably one of the funniest things that's ever happened to me on GTA Online thus far.

You can usually tell they're kids when you take them down for a bounty and they spend the next 45 minutes constantly trying to kill you. At least, I hope they're kids. I've done a few random events and none of them have rewarded me. I know some don't reward you immediately but I'm starting to wonder if something has gone wrong because days have passed and I've done missions since but I've not heard any more from any of the random people I helped.

they're pretty random, from what I've noticed. I get phonecalls repeatedly in some sessions, then I might go a whole session without getting any calls at all.

I meant in story mode. I saved someone from enemies and I got someone else away to safety and I got someone else home from a place they didn't want to be. Not one of them paid me or called me later to offer stocks or services. Three random events.

A lot of the random encounters are meant to work like that. You pass a certain area of the map and you might see one person in need of help or you may even come across a cop or cops dealing with a criminal or group of criminals. I know for sure those re-spawn in the same area every time, just not sure what the reset interval is. Obvious case in point: up in Paleto Bay the armored car usually only shows up once a week before resetting each time.

It should go without saying but it also may seem to happen if you do the Strangers and Freaks stuff. Took my dumb ass like 15 seconds to go from playing as Trevor who I'd been using to collect all the spaceship parts to remembering, oh, yeah, I've gotta switch to Franklin and wait for the guy to call Franklin.

The ones I did weren't the repeating ones like the mugger or armoured truck. They were unique ones. Like the one I got not long after first playing the game. A guy asked me to help him out as a random event. He text me a while later saying he owned the Ark pet store and was giving me some stock.

I assumed the three I mentioned above were that kind of deal but it seems not.

Finished the story about a week ago. I found the ending very satisfying. It's a shame we wont get story DLC.

They need to do something to make online interesting again. I've lost all desire to play it now.

In news, there is a new mod going about that allows players to have their character "rape" (as that seems to be how people refer to it) your character by having their character snap to your back, with their pants down, and use an ingame doggy style sex animation on you. After that's done, all your character does is dance like a stripper.
Luckily I haven't stumbled across it but it does put me off online. I believe that no matter what you do, say or imagine, there is someone, somewhere who would get off to it. So I'm sure someone, somewhere is using that mod with their pants down and I'd rather not help them out.

Its actually done at a tattoo parlor near the top of the city. You go inside and open the door to come back out but you take cover against it. Then have someone else drive a car (compacts seem to work best) into the door and keep accelerating. Eventually the car goes flying. My son and I are on now looking for more of them

The tattoo parlor is by far the easiest place to do it, but the buildings around it are taller and make it harder to get any real distance. Ive gotten a few really good ones tho.

Ive launched so that I glitch and etc stuck in the sky. Once I get out of the car, it falls. Ive even glitched off the map once. The only benefit ive gotten from doing this is a gold medal for flipping my car. Its just a fun time waster if you've got a bunch of people

Why not add a psychiatrist service online? You can go along and pay, say, $2,000 to $5,000 per segment of meter it clears.

I dunno. My characters mental state was through the roof for a bit and I was rarely just killed on sight. I think it depends on the other players "omg, is he coming to kill me" paranoia.

Its been alright lately tho. I have been in some pretty chill sessions. Except for this one about a week ago. Some player jumped in my car with me and rode around. He didnt have a mic or just wasnt talking so I didnt know what his intentions were. I drove off a cliff and jumped out just before it went over and left the other guy in. He died...I dont even know if he realized I had bailed out. Didnt see him again, so I just dont know.

Started with the "Hipster" or the "Im not a Hipster" updates, I believe. It doesnt affect the way I play at all really. It depends on the people in the session mostly. If they are killing one another when I spawn in, then I just join the fray.

I have two theories about heists.

1. Cynical theory - They're holding off on releasing them unti the Next Gen versions are out. The Xbox1, PC and PS4 will get them for X number of weeks or months before 360 and PS3 get it. A way to get people to buy the new version.

2 R* Messed Up theory - R* fully intended to release the heists but, due to the importance they put on money etc in the game, they can't release them without making money and the other jobs utterly worthless. So, they've accidentally painted themselves into a corner,

The update isn't as impressive as previous updates. The only clothing additions are a 1930's pilot helmet and a full body fighter pilot outfit.

There are about half a dozen new vehicles, most of which are aircraft, obviously.

The new parachutes have me a little confused. It talks about primary and secondary chutes. Is this a new "Sometimes your chute will screw up. Better get the backup chute!" thing or is it just another possible chute that you'll randomly use? I'm wanting a Scotland chute bag. $150,000 for it, though.

The airplane lessons are added to Online. No idea if you get anything for completion.

Tried the Flight School out. The first few lessons are good but it quickly becomes frustrating in the later lessons. On the plus side, gold medals pay well. I had $166,000+ with still two more lessons to complete.
Oddly, I leveled up from 75 to 76 but when I left the school, I was still 75.

Buzzards now have two rocket types. Homing and non-homing.

Also, my mental state has been reset.

The update is alright. Similar to the Flight School in single player, but with different events. I havent been able to find any flight suits. Aren't they supposed to be in the clothing stores?

Yeah. Go to the counter and you buy complete outfits. One of them is the fullbody fighter pilot outfit. It was $50,000 for me but I have the Limited Edition DLC which lets me buy clothing with a 25% discount, or something.

You can rack up money pretty quickly with those flight school missions. Some of the races seem to pay out more now too. I ran a few by myself and got a couple thousand for each.

Oh nice. I racked up like 30k during the first couple of lessons because I was trying so hard to get Gold medals....only got it during the event where you lose all engine power and you have to glide the plane in tho. lol

On a side note, I mistook "flight suit" for a wing suit, ala Far Cry 3. That woulda been pretty awesome.

These fucking One On One Deathmatches piss me off. Ive done three of them tonight and none of them have been One On One. Some guy had a vendetta against me or something and happened to be within sight of me entering a One On One. Fucker kept getting me before my opponent could. His blip was invisible as well because he wasn't involved in it.

I hate that one. I tried endlessly for over an hour. Some of the failures were stupid. I dunked the underside of the plane in the water and the game failed me and said the vehicle was wrecked despite the fact it was still flying. Other times it had no problem with me doing it.
Over an hour though. I got a gold and I will never play that lesson again. At this point I don't even want to fly that plane ever again.

Tips for that lesson.
Do not accelerate. You can float through the entire thing.
Using the LB and RB buttons to gradually turn helps get from most of the targets to the next targets. There are a few you'll need to use the stick for, though.
Flying through the arrow or just below it is good enough to pass.

Tried getting on and giving that a shot yesterday. Played the first mission, which was some stupid capture the intel thing in jets which turned out to be an absolute waste of 5 minutes, not including the 10 minute load time into the event and the wait for the game to start.

Next gametype put me in a lobby and a bunch of people had already left so I was going to have to wait again, so I said fuck it and shut down my console.

Something about the atrocious load times this game has just makes me not want to play it. The gametypes are too quick and not fun enough to warrant the stupid load times, just to be done in no time in a gametype that wasn't even fun.

Wtf. Game has turned out to be a massive disappointment in the long run. Never delivered on half the shit they promised, and either everyone has stopped playing, or they still can't even fix server issues.

I had the same issue with the flight school event. It took way too long to load it and then I'd get put in a lobby which would immediately empty.

I do have to say this game, story and multiplayer has been steadily declining since San Andreas. Rock star used to be who I'd blindly hand video game money to because of their games playability.

It's really limited. You can't do missions together, you can stray to far from each other and you can only drive one car at a time.

You do technically have to fly "those motherfuckin' planes" in SA to advance the story. Kinda sucks at first but then once you get the hang of how to pass all the tests, it's a breeze. I do remember getting seriously annoyed at not being able to pass some of the tests at first, just wanted to have them done so I could head for Las Venturas, but eventually I finally passed and was able to finish the story.

According to Rockstar the official reason why the PC has a later release date is due to "polishing" reasons.

Rockstar has offered a brief explanation for why Grand Theft Auto V on PC will not release on November 18 alongside the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.

According to Take Two's CEO, total sales for GTA V right now are around 34 million with 5 million sold so far this year. Also currently expecting a big bump in sales once the PS4 and Xbox One versions get released.

On the second quarter FY15 earnings call, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick says that Grand Theft Auto V is still selling well, with big hopes for the new-gen versions. In response to a question, Zelnick says that the company hasn’t reached 100 percent saturation despite huge sales of the title.

The company has sold over 34 million copies of the title on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. This is up by five million units in the past year.

For comparisons, it needs another 1-2 million to pass Mario Kart Wii for #5 all-time and another 6-7 million to pass Super Mario Bros for 4th. After that it gets a lot tougher to crack the Top 3 (Tetris, Wii Sports, Minecraft).

This is why GameGate needs to be successful in its cause. This was an overhyped feature not only by Rockstar but all major video game publications. They have to do a better job making previews actually preview and not just hype pieces to get people to buy the game. The preview should be realistic about what to expect from the game.

Ign should have stopped covering GTA Online Heist coverage after it didn't happen when it was supposed it. They should have then said "we'll preview/review" when it's released" and nothing more should have ever been said about it until it was ready for download.

Someone who managed to get a PS4 copy early has been streaming the game online.

Just like the early hype trailers for GTA Online, Rockstar fibbed a bit about their reveal trailers for the next gen versions. Today we are happy to present a new trailer for the four-player co-op mode for Grand Theft Auto Online that allows players to plan, prepare and execute multi-tiered Heists across Los Santos and Blaine County. These will require tight communication and coordination, with players taking on specified roles at each point to accomplish multiple objectives on the way to each Heist's epic finale. Featuring new gameplay, new vehicles, new weapons, new clothing and much more.

<font color=goldenrod>Have encountered a gamebreaking glitch in the Monkey Business mission on PS4. That's the mission where you start with a stun gun and then eventually guards show up and you need to switch to regular guns. Except I can't access the weapon wheel. Michael is fully loaded before starting the mission but I can't access any of his weapons for some reason. So I need to try to get through a shitload of armed guards with only a stun gun that takes 5 seconds to reload. Can't skip that part of the mission either.

anybody know why my game is stuck at 41/42 hobbies when my Social Club says i'm at 59?
