Played earlier. Mainly fucked about. At one point I noticed some guy was in a clothes store shopping or holding the place up. Jumped off my bike to steal his personal car. He tracked me down and I ended up killing him with his own motor. He respawned, tracked me down again and killed me. Then he messaged me saying "that's right punk bitch". Think I kinda "won" that one.

After I held up my first shop directed by Lamar, some guy followed me and tried to kill me while the cops were chasing me. I lost my wanted rating then the cops shot him for trying to shoot me. Fucking bastard.

At first I didn't really care, I enjoyed screwing around and doing whatever, but Kalyx is right. If you want to actually do things in this game, you need money. You need to stop dying. I'll put it in bold letters here because nobody reads my posts.

I did one mission. I gained $1000 for that mission. We went back to freeroam. Some dude killed me while I was messaging. He killed me again when he ran over me. He killed me again while I was actually trying to stay alive.

Hospital bills are anywhere from $800-$1300.

All in all, I spent about 10 minutes on that mission and had $1400 less than when I started.

Seems if I am not hearing nigger every ten seconds on the radio, I am wondering how much more bland boring desert I need cross before I find Trevors place.

It also seems that AI can shoot through your car online. I was driving a truck from some drug guys in an online mission and they shot me to death despite them being nowhere near a window or other opening in the truck, the bullets still hit me.

NOTE:

Since the patch (that removed the 9k mission from being replayed), you no longer suffer medical fees when you die on missions. Thumbs fucking up.

You're still screwed if you die in Free Roam, though.

Also wrecking other people's cars now count as 'Bad Sportsmanship'. So while the owner still suffers fees, you get a point added to your bad rep.

There's a possibility you can set your car to explode when the ignition starts. Not sure how it works or if I'm guessing right, but there is such a mod in the car shop.

Anyway, finally got online to work and had a good few hours on it. After getting shot to shit a few times I went and robbed all the convenient stores. I find you die way too easily online, couple of bullets and you're done, even whilst driving. Built up a nice stash of around $30k but after dying a kajillion times I quit online with around $19k. I thought if I banked the cash before I died it wouldn't take it off me but it still does.

You can set who can drive your car to either crew, friends or no one. Guess that helps cut down people driving off with it.

Haven't found anyone else playing yet to hook up with and get jobs done (unless guy above me was) hopefully we can organise a huge game at some point.

Honestly man, I was gonna tell you you should use cover more. You were Ramboing it up quite a bit last session. That said, I try not to use cars as cover for the reasons stated above. They could still hit your feet and do damage.

I can't help it, it's just my playstyle with pretty much every genre. I put way too much energy into offence and not enough into defence. It did come in hand in Survival with, Kalyx and yourself. At the end of each wave, one of you had 6, the other had 9 and I had something like 26. It also helped during a couple crew missions. I just have to be focusing. If I'm not, I'm toast, as you saw happen a few dozen times.
I can be slow and steady if I'm playing something single player, like the Hitman games.

I wasn't using cars for cover in my other post. I was driving it away from the AI. They were behind me with no windows on the rear of the vehicle. They still hit me. All I really want to know is if that's supposed to happen and if it is, why?

God the Sniper Rifle must be a nightmare for lower level players who haven't unlocked it. Notched two bounties just now, both from tagging people in a moving vehicle from on top of a building. They had no chance.

Online does seem a little unbalanced. For example, when had that cycling race, I was exhausted after 30 seconds while you blasted off into the distance. In a organized race, that probably shouldn't be happening. In an impromptu race, in free roam, sure.

speaking of game modes, I think going "Rambo" in survival serves me better than playing conseratively like you guys. I tried taking cover throughout a wave three times in that boneyard survival. One time, an enemy spawned at such an angle and close enough that he could shoot me and, even worse, the second time, three enemies spawn directly to my right and killed me in one or two hits. I thought they spawned further out.
The final time I used cover did go well and I had some kind of huge-ass gattling gun which is always fun.

I'm not sure about being in the crew. It's fun but I feel more like a hinderence than a help :(.

Easiest "quick money" way I've found is to grab a helicopter and hold up a store... gets a quick $1-2k and the getaway is a cinch. Plus you get easy RP for evading police. Starts as a 2-star but I think the wanted level goes up if you do a bunch consecutively... was getting some 4-star wanted levels as I was doing it.

Dunno what rank you need to have the helicopter spawn.. I think 7 or 8 or so? When I was 5-6 range it wasn't spawning for me IIRC, or maybe someone else in-game had it. Idkkkkkkk.

On that note, how the hell do you raise your flying skill? I've been flying around for hours and it hasn't budged. Tried going under bridges and that did nothing. My dude flies all wobbly n shit, I donut approve.

There is a helipad that has like 4 choppas there at times, it's like a little north of the airport, like in Story mode where that helipad is at with the icon and stuff. Choppas for errbody

I know I'm late but I gotta address this. Fallen you have a history of alarmists criticism many of which is kinda baseless. Was just driving around yesterday when I heard this group of guys talking about how they were going on a mission to collect a bounty from some player who was down by the farthest south point on the map. They were getting a helicopter, coordinating to get everyone together, and were on their way from way north to go get this guy.

I wasn't gonna let good money escape me, so I started driving down that way, as they were still a ways off. I could hear them telling the guy "We're comin for you!" and all this. So I go down there, and the bounty starts trying to get out of the area, because he was really trapped and shouldn't have been anywhere around there if he wanted to survive.


I wreck his car with some stray bullets, and he bails, jumps off the freeway and hightails it to the water. About halfway across the bay, he surfaces... BOOM, HEADSHOT WITH MY SNIPER RIFLE. 7k bounty earned.


"That's how you collect a bounty." *radio silence for a moment* "Yeah some guy killed me.. do it again and come get me."


The guy respawned closeby in an industrial park... with another bounty on him? Hmmm, I can see that from where I already am. So I back my car up on the freeway a little bit, and take aim at the industrial park with my advanced scope sniper. He's acquired a car and is trying to get the hell out of there, but it's kind of cluttered and confusing there. I wait.. wait, for the perfect shot. As he's coming down a long stretch of parking lot, BOOM. Right in the face as he's trying to drive away. 7k bounty earned.


I deposit my winnings and tell them, "Hey you guys should keep doing that, I've already made a cool 14 grand off you"

Press down on L3 to go into 'stealth mode'. Put an elastic over your analog 1stick with it in the 'up' direction and literally just leave it on for like an hour. Wide open spaces work best so you don't have to worry about your bro getting stuck walking into a wall. In online might be wise to go into passive mode so you have less of a chance of getting popped whilst boosting stat.

Finally got my driving to max by just grabbing a motorcycle and doing wheelies at the airport for an hour or so too.

There's a lot ways to screw people over aside from obvious shit like hunting them down and sniping from a building. Many of which has to do with Lester, who seems to be an in-universe analogy for 'cheat codes'. Used wisely, your Crew can be quite the trouble makers. But that's in terms of ideas for my Crew.

We had an epic grind yesterday that must have went over a quarter day. Made some money, leveled up, and I'm ready to do it again. Gotta have some Battlefield 4 fun first, because I know GTAO is as life consuming as I thought. Very addicting when you get a session with your boys.

And shockingly, strangers you meet are pretty chill for the most part. Not as much assholes as I would think in a game like this.

Races are almost always hilarious. Betting is the ultimate motivator.

Slight modification, but you can walk in circles if you band both sticks. This is really easy for the 360 because they're off-center so I use a hair elastic to walk in circles. Or, I did in that one single-player mission. I haven't opted to grind stealth, but....
