Granted, I've been super careful not to sign in when I read about character issues some days. The last one 4 or 5 days ago, I made sure not to sign in that day and sure enough, my character was fine while like 3 people I know lost theirs.

I go to single player now and haven't had that problem since.

The game is supposed to autosave but doesn't always. Going to single-player prompts a save, and therefore is advised.

It does save at random times, I just see the Cloud Save icon with no rhyme or reason. I don't trust it to save after a job, which never happens. It's random.

I'll go with saving by going to Single Player. Not taking chances especially after long grind sessions.

Yeah the survival events is what I was alluding to when I said he couldn't have even unlocked the events necessary to gain large sums of money. Most people I've talked to say they unlock around 18-20, but I did manage to get my first survival mission at 15. And they aren't easy or quick really.

Never thought of that, gonna have to do that. Every time I've tried to get a BMX bike and go to one of the half pipes, I always get harassed by random assholes who just want to kill you over and over. Luckily, I have better weapons than most people already so I've been able to hold people off for a while until I finally say fuck it and leave because they won't stop.

Survival takes anywhere from 25-35 minutes with at least 2 buddies we discovered. Faster with 4 of course, but it's good for 20k a person, which isn't bad IMO.

There's a mission called Criminal Records which is a race that lasts roughly 32 seconds. So 1 minute, to 1.5 minutes start to finish with loading and everything. Gives you about 1900 cash and from 350 to 500 RP.

Team up with up to 3 teammates and shoot a bunch of AI baddies in waves.

10 Waves, each wave gets harder. Helicopters come in at a few points. Depending on the map, they can be easy or fucking hard. There are places on some maps that are just designed to be held off, and there are some maps that are built so awkwardly that you're always frantically trying to stay alive.


One good thing is that any guns you pick up during the match, you get to keep. Until you die or run out of ammo, or reload the game. I'm not entirely sure. I've kept some of the guns for a while, and sometimes they've just disappeared from my inventory so I'm not sure on exactly when they go away.


Survival is pretty easy once miniguns come into play. Helicopters are a breeze at that point, and vehicles get shredded and blown up in no time. Sticky bombs also spawn in these gametypes and they can be key in holding off areas. Love waiting till a bunch of vehicles are piled in an area, tossing a single sticky bomb, and taking out a huge group of people.


I think you get more for doing missions with crew members, so maybe that's why I got 20k from mine? I don't remember exactly how that works.

Just had an incident where I was on my way there with the premium vehicle, and I noticed another player on the map just standing near the garage. He kept facing my direction even though I was still a bit of a distance from the garage, so I figured he had a sniper rifle.

Got out and ran away, and sure enough he makes a bee line for it as soon as I'm a good distance away. As soon as he gets in, I detonate the sticky bomb I threw on before ditching it.

Also, what happened to the whole "hire a hitman" thing? Would be cool if you could actually hire another player to do it instead of AI but either would be good.

Actually, pimping could have worked online. Befriend a hooker or stripper enough that they give you their number, call them later to arrange a hooker/pimp set up and have them walk the streets for you.
They could generate a couple hundred dollars for you a day, unless a player hires your hooker and you get a bit extra.
From time to time, they call you asking for help or, if a player attacks them, you get notified and can hunt them down. Maybe you can choose to arm your hookers with a knife and/or pistol, for a price?

In the main game, if you provoke a group of Vagos or Ballas gangsters too much, they will occasionally sic a dog on you. And sometimes it only takes 1 or 2 good bites for the fuckers to kill you, too. I've experienced it by doing that with Trevor.

If people don't want their car wrecked, don't take it outside in a public game. Save it for a solo or private room. When I take my cars out, I don't get all pissy about another player wrecking it. I took it out the garage and drove it around in public. If it's destroyed it's my own fault.
The trouble should only start if someone constantly wrecks the cars of the same player over and over again in a short time peroid. Like if I blew up your personal car 4 times in an hour, then I'd say that's hassling you.

At the very least, the "don't destroy other players cars" thing should be dropped if the player in question has a bounty. Then it's justified. If he's not got a bounty on his head, fine, no destroying his personal car.

I just don't like that I am in with the bad players or, at least, on the cusp of being put in with the bad players because I was playing the game properly. If there was a huge symbol above the players car that said "CUSTOM CAR" then I'd not have blown it up to get the bounty.
So, I didn't know it was a personal car, I didn't know there was anything wrong with blowing up a personal car and the game was telling me "Kill this guy and get money", which I did. I then get told off and potentially punished for it.

I'm with Drakul on the personal vehicle issue. If someone is trying to kill you, you should be allowed to defend yourself by any means necessary. I got a bad sport rating when I had a bounty on me, and this guy came after me. We had a war across the countryside shooting at each other in a grand chase. Are cars were ragged by the end and cops were shooting at both of us. Finally I got the last shot in that blew up his car. It was mad fun, but I got a bad sport rating. Never mind that he was shooting my car right back.

Ugh, didn't know all that. I might have a bad sport rating now. I have been hunting bounties using sticky bombs. I think it's just a badass way of murdering someone's face. I've set up on highways and waited for the bounty to come to me and then blown the stickies. I've done drive-by stickies on them. I've dropped them on the road as I'm driving and blown people up who are chasing me.

I do this to non-bounty players too if they're after me. If I'm defending myself against some guy shooting the piss out of my car or trying to kill me, or if I'm after a bounty, I shouldn't get a bad rating IMO. :(

Have had some awesome moments. Collecting bounties is by far my favorite thing to do in this game.

Went on a super long chase following these 2 bounties around the map. One was in a helicopter and appeared to be chasing the other. So I was on the ground in my car (which I've upgraded and is awesome.. turbos are AMAZING), chasing this guy.. ended up really trashing my vehicle going offroad and shit just trying to keep up.. so I stopped at a mod shop, repaired my car, and came out to some guy trying to kill me. Got away with a well timed sticky bomb and went after the ground guy again. Got to a corner of freeway where I could see down into the bay where the guy was. The helicopter guy had apparently picked up a friend who was now flying, with the bounty in the passenger. He arrived above the ground bounty, who I didn't have a shot on. So I scope in, shoot the pilot out of the helicopter, sending it plummeting into the bay. 1 bounty down. I take aim at the second guy, who now has another player on the ground shooting at him. BOOM, just as the other guy charges him, taking his health down. My shot is the killshot though. 2nd bounty down.

It makes no sense. Dying costs you something like $500 and regaining your car after it's been destroyed is $1000. I collected a bounty on some guy yesterday and he sent mercenaries after me. Was pretty intense. While I was looking for other bounties, I had guys in military Jeeps chasing me for like 10 or 15 minutes. Kept stopping to fight them sometimes, and then I'd keep going. Had Mercs, and Cops on me at one point, managed to get away from both and still went to collect some bounties.

You still technically own the first one so no. You have to sell it first. Sell it at a mod shop, then get your new car and put a tracker and buy insurance on it. Or just buy a garage.

Hi, I'm sending this email as I feel you need to reconsider something about the ingame rules of GTA Online.

I play GTA Online regularly and I never, intentionally, kill other players or destroy their personalized vehicles out of malice or spite.
I do, however, kill other players if they have a bounty on their heads.
After unlocking the "sticky bomb" weapon, I tried it out on a bounty who wouldn't leave his/her personalised car. After blowing them and their car up I was told not to destroy other players personal cars or else I'd be punished. I feel this isn't right and actually takes away from the game.

Firstly, I did not know it was a personalised car as there is no indication of this, whatsoever. Secondly, if a player takes his/her personalised car out in public, surely, it is at their own risk. Thirdly, where is the logic in the fact I can, theoretically, kill a player over and over and over again without reprecussion but detroying their car (which they can regain through ingame insurance) just once gets me a warning? Finally, if we are threatened with punishment for destroying their car why are we allowed to destroy them at all? Why not just make those specific vehicles indestructable?

I say this as I believe the punishment is to be limited to playing online with other "bad players" and I'd rather not have my playing experience ruined because I went after a player with a bounty on their head, which is within the spirit of the game.

I hope you decide to correct this and remove this limiting feature. At the very least, surely, a player with a bounty on them should be fairgame, including the destruction of their car.

I'm the same way. I just kinda watch the notifications to see if people are just killing each other, and then join in the fray. Running from the cops seems to be a constant, always having to run and not always sure why.

No idea how your car getting impounded works. I was killed, in my car and spawned down the street. I was sprinting to my car and it began flashing. Just as I reach it, it vanished. "Your car has been impounded". I was right there!

Also, the police attack you if you go anywhere near the impound lot. I hadn't even gotten near the gate or fence and they already wanted to gun me down.

I got my car back from the dead after it was impounded and I had to get off the xbox. I called the insurance company and they gave me my car back with a small fee

Your car gets impounded if you die while the police are after you.

And then gets destroyed if you don't claim it from the impound.

Were you in a vehicle? The only time the cops have tried to go after me before I jumped the fence was when I drove too close in a vehicle I jacked to get there.

There's an impound fee? It just tells you to steal it back or it'll be destroyed. I've always just stolen it back. A bitch BTW when it's a bike with no back tire.

Another noob question here but I purchased a light armor and have it equipped. Now I can't take the thing off, so I can have a different look. Guess im stuck with it being on my chest until I purchase a higher armor?

If you play a mission and run out of lives (I think you can die twice), I think the armor is gone unless you choose to rebuy it when you try the mission again. Other than that, I dunno.

My character has a mask on and I don't know how to unequip it unless I have an apartment to change clothes, which I don't.

Also I notice that when you have a headset on, your characters lips move when you talk. Noticed it while robbing a store and I was yelling at the clerk to hurry the fuck up.

You can remove the armor with inventory screen, effect stays too.
