I think it's a generic Fox Sports theme. They've used it for baseball for as long as I can remember.

That's the great thing about the Playoffs, any guy can have a huge night, help his team win when it matters the most, and it doesn't necessarily have to be a star. It can be who you least expect it.

Great win for the Giants.

Since 1990 no team that has lost game 1 of the NLCS has came back to win the NLCS.

At least its somewhat better now with the multiple channels covering the games than in the past when Fox Sports had every single MLB playoff game. Although it does suck that Fox kept the exclusive rights to the championship series.

I got to say I have some real doubts about the Yankees winning the World Series. And this year it seems to matter a lot more to me. I just think it would be a lot more special this year then any other year because winning the World Series the same year Brian died would make it a lot more special to me. I am not trying to be greedy, just saying it would be a great thing to win the World Series the same year your owner died.

should of thrown Burnett. Pettite pitched an amazing game.

was expected last night. I was prepared for it for a week now, so I didn't get really pissed off like I usually do when the Yanks totally bomb

Lee's going to be one of those pitchers that will pitch into his 40's and still be good. He's extremely deceptive on that mound and he's made it near impossible to guess what's coming. I'd take him over anybody in the post season.

Loose Cannon
10-19-2010, 10:46 AM

I don't think the Yankees will come back, but I suppose I can never count a team all the way out after seeing what the Red Sox did in 2004 and 2007.

TBS put up the stats and not only are the Rangers almost doubled the hits the Yankees have this series but also scoring 75% of the time (compared to almost 1/3 for Yankees).

Ron Washington taking out his pitcher early ended up saving the game for the Rangers since Yankees were hot early into the game and then fell flat while Rangers got hotter as the game went on.

classic example of a team just wanting it more then the other. Rangers are playing amazing baseball right now. Yankees don't even look like they belong half the time. 1 Out bases loaded in the 8th and they can't even manufacture a run? That's terrible.

The bullpen has imploded, Tex goes down, nobody get hit when it counts.

Texas deserves it thus far. I just hope we can win one in the Bronx.

By the way, it's awesome seeing more empy seats behind home plate after the 7th.

Its funny because Berkman made 2 comments in a yahoo sports columnist's column today.

It’s pitching,” he finally said. “Pitching. Pitching. Pitching. I don’t think any answer is simpler than that. The postseason is all pitching. It’s been that way for 150 years.”

I agree with him on that but here's the deal. It's all about getting the clutch hits like LC stated. The bullpen has failed them immensely. But this was the comment that really got me.

They are nervous,” Berkman said of the Rangers’ bullpen, the one that faltered in Game 1 but has come back to shut down New York ever since. “You can see it in their command. It’s not perfect. They are walking people. Everyone is dealing with cotton mouth.”

I don't know if I see nervousness there Lance. I see you guys getting flat shut down since game 1 by that bullpen. And by the way Lance, don't forget how you guys were embarassed by Cliff Lee

I'm not really a Giants or a baseball fan but the whole playoff scene is pretty exciting in the bay area, when I got dragged along it was pretty fun. Chargers, I went to San Diego a couple years ago before I started watching football and that's what got me turned on to the bolts and football in general. The problem is, most Charger games aren't really shown in my area. I like the 49ers too mostly because of Samurai Mike Singletary and Frank Gore. Not too mention watching their season this year is like watching a car accident.

And Jeritron, you know I'm not a Miami Heat fan, you slandering fiend. I do think the idea of them winning every NBA title for like 5 years would be hilarious though. I was more intrigued by the frankenstein super team than anything else.

I don't know if I didn't notice it last year or what, but it's really disheartning to see all these empty seats in the stadium after the 7th. Definitely disappointing but Texas just looked and played like the better team. Yankees having some struggles with the rotation wasn't surprising. The offense being non-existent besides Cano was a little bit. Aren't winning many games when you go 8 for 53 with RISP for the series.
