Yeah, I don't really like Krystoff's personality, but he is def a beast in the ring.. I like Bader more though..

Do Willie Hill's take bets on MMA?

Dunno. A few betting shops do. It was just the first one I could think of.

When you find one that does, let me know. I'm not into this online gambling.

Kris P Lettus

Krispy, have you ever bet on a fight before?

Yes..

I'm betting on Lesnar but this is very far from clear cut. Possibly the closest fight in UFC history.

That's exactly how I feel about it.. I wouldn't put money up on something I am so unsure about..

Pretty much all I was saying in the first place..

Rob

Actually you questioned on why someone would actually take a gamble on a close fight. Obviously you aren't a gambler because anyone who likes a bet would understand exactly why.

Kris P Lettus

No..

I was saying I would not personally bet on a close fight..

I understand how odds work..

Id rather choose one guy in a close fight than the underdog in an uneven fight.

I'll let you know Rob.

Not saying you don't. Saying you don't have a gamblers mentality. Nothing wrong with that either. Infact it's probably a good thing.

Randy Couture has a record of 7-1 in fights which he was made the underdog by bookmakers.

It would be if it were true. I don't know where this stat came from because it's been doing the rounds but it's not true. He was the underdog against Ricco Rodriguez for sure. Dunno about Josh Barnett.

It was what he was listening to, not the method he used, simpleton..

Also, if you have so many other great sites for streaming, then why do you ask every single time there's a PPV?? My buddy pays alot to have that up for ungrateful fucks like you, yet all you do is bitch and complain and claim there are better streams out there.. If you are so sure there are better quality streams out there, why do you not just STFU and use them??

Fabien Barthez
11-15-2008, 01:53 PM
Because everybody knows that from time to time, they get shut down, so I like to have 3 or 4 decent ones for every PPV. I also ask here because... get this...

This is the MMA thread. Where people discuss MMA, and I know that on occasions, these same people will endeavour to watch the odd fight. So it makes for a good logical decision to ask the people in here.

Now, I could ask in a thread or forum that is unrelated to the sport. But I fear the results will not be nearly as positive. Mind, with you replying to me, maybe I'm wrong.

I don't care about your buddy and his money and all that, I just want to watch UFC, not a snapshot of whats happening ever 6 seconds. I asked for an alternative, and you start calling me a bitch? Tell me to STFU? Fat man, just get a clue.

I never asked you to write something in a specific way, and then contradict yourself with a following post. Don't call me a simpleton due to your fucking stupidity.

And before all this 'Quit this shit' and 'take this elsewhere' crap begins... I was baited into this with insults and I don't need to repeat my points. So fuck off, because I'm done with it anyways.

I reckon he was the Underdog against Maurice Smith, Vitor (first time), Rizzo (first time), Tim Sylvia, Gonzaga, Chuck (first time), Ricco.

Maybe Randleman, Maybe Horn, Maybe Vitor (rubber). I don't think he was meant to walk all over Tito either.

If it is wrong, it's not by alot. I think he was underdog against Chuck all 3 times, personally. Which ruins the one loss whilst underdog.

LAS VEGAS -- Although largely expected, Kenny Florian was surely happy to learn that his UFC 91 co-main event fight with Joe Stevenson will earn the winner a guaranteed title shot. For real this time.

UFC President Dana White promised the winner a shot at B.J. Penn's lightweight belt during today's UFC 91 press conference in the main lobby of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

UFC 91, which airs live on pay per view, takes place Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and features a main event between UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture and challenger Brock Lesnar.

Florian is coming off a victory over Roger Huerta at August's UFC 87 event. Prior to the fight, White said the winner was likely to get a title shot. Huerta also talked openly about it. But after Florian posted a unanimous-decision victory, Penn was instead booked to fight UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre in a super-fight for the welterweight title, and Florian was scheduled to fight Stevenson.

"This fight is going to be amazing, and the winner of this fight will face B.J. Penn for the lightweight title after B.J. fights Georges St. Pierre," White said at the press conference, which was open to the public and attended by media members and hundreds of fans.

By delivering Huerta his first career UFC loss, Florian (10-3 MMA, 8-2 UFC) picked up his fifth consecutive victory since an October 2006 loss to Sean Sherk for the vacant title. During the two-year span, Florian has defeated Huerta, Joe Lauzon, Din Thomas, Alvin Robinson and Dokonjonosuke Mishima. Florian, who was the "The Ultimate Fighter 1" runner-up (despite fighting as a middleweight), is now going for his sixth consecutive victory -- two shy of the UFC record.

Stevenson (29-8 MMA, 6-2 UFC), meanwhile, is looking to avenge a previous loss to Penn. Back in January at UFC 80, Stevenson, "The Ultimate Fighter 2" welterweight winner, suffered a second-round submission loss to Penn in a fight for the lightweight title, which had been stripped from Sherk after a failed drug test.

Randy was in perfect shape. He didn't look out of breath once in that fight.

I didn't think the shot that knocked him down looked like much. Still, I didn't take it so who am I to judge?

The ref was right really, most of them shots were going straight into the guard, but the ones that hit were brutal. Couture was still defending at the very end, just not very well.

You had that feeling Randy was doomed after just a few minutes. Who does Couture fight next? He has 2 fights on his contract, right?

The weight differance really hurt Randy here. Yea, the punch Couture took seemed like nothing, but again, we're not taking that punch. The ref did let it go on for a bit more then it should have. Lesnar looked good, but I think he would have a tough time against someone like Nog. He seemed a little uncomfortable in there at times. dunno

WWE issued the following on their main headlines section today: LAS VEGAS - In a stunning upset, Brock Lesnar became the first man to capture both the WWE Championship and the UFC Heavyweight Championship when he defeated UFC fan favorite Randy "The Natural" Couture on Saturday night in Sin City. Lesnar, dubbed "The Next Big Thing" upon his arrival in WWE, earned the moniker and his first WWE Championship in 2002 after besting The Rock at SummerSlam. Thanks in large part to the backing of the WWE Universe, the former college wrestling phenomenon went on to regain the title twice, both times against Kurt Angle, once at WrestleMania in 2003 and then six months later on SmackDown. For Lesnar, the road to UFC gold proved surprisingly short. Within roughly six months, the former WWE Superstar climbed to the top of the ultimate fighting heap, capping his ascent with the upset victory over Couture. Critics have noted that many of the fights on the UFC pay-per-view ended in the first round, leaving UFC producers scrambling to fill the three-hour event with content. The dearth of hearty competition left many viewers to watch less prestigious under-card fights and only served to bolster claims that UFC pay-per-view events can often be a "crap shoot" in regards to filling the full three hours. For his part, Lesnar took the encouragment of the WWE Universe and the hard lessons forged during his fiery time at WWE and showed UFC and the world why he is not only a man of mettle but also a former three-time WWE Champion. That's a really NASTY dig at UFC by WWE for sure.

I dont get it....they dont have commercials, once you buy your in, so why try to prolong the show?

They have 4 or 5 undercard bouts, and fight them before the show. They try and make the main event happen as close to the actual time they expected it to happen. When fights end early they see if there is any oustanding or finishing performances with the undercard to air during the downtime. So if you go to a live show with a lot of early finishes, you will experience a lot of downtime.

WWE kind of comes off like an animal backed into a corner and they have to fire off these ridiculous cheap shots.

It's hard to judge time frame when you are not predetermining your fights..

Also, LOL at them acting like the WWE title is anything.. It is a prop that is given out..

Like a Dundie..

My thoughts!

That shot randy took was brutal. He didnt take it to the temple, he took it right behind his ear at the bottom of the skull by the brain stem. That shot doesnt knock you out it paralyses your body for a brief time. There is this one guy who I train with that is a south paw and he has looping hooks, and he has hit me on that spot a few times when he throws his hook and it zings me pretty bad, except hes 170 so he doesnt drop me. Lesnar is huge and if you take a shot from him in that spot, then your body is going to go limp.

It was very smart on mario yamasaki's part to let lesnar beat on randy for a long time. There was no argument on the result because of it.

I wanted Randy to win, but oh well, brock is probably going to lose to nog.

Randy was defending himself well when it first hit the ground.. I saw nothing wrong with the reffing..

Had Couture not resigned a year ago, what do you guys think would have happened in the hw division in that time....this fight would probably not have happened.

Jackson is gonna smash Silva dude. I don't care what he did to Jardine, Silva won't be able to handle Rampage now.

So, who is Brock defending against first?

Antonio Nog or Frank Mir.

Question and I know it was brought up before, but I forget what was said. Would you guys like a seperate MMA Forum? It seems like it's getting too big for just a thread and I think having a forum would be a lot easier to read news and updates from the MMA world. Everything would be spaced out. just let me know what you think?

Do it up that would be pretty sweet... since I go to this forum more often that the wrestling forum these days.

well my whole thing is that having MMA in a seperate forum would help people get into everything a little more. Having posts on the Ultimate Fighter, on various news, on the upcoming fights in one single thread really takes away from a lot of good conversations we could have if we were to seperate everything. And in my opinion, it would be easier for people to get into MMA more if there were different topics to read about. the reader can learn a lot more that way. I know that sometimes people see a thread with 80 somewhat pages and kind of get detered by it.

I'll get with Trips and see what we can do here

There should at least be a sub-forum for MMA under the Sports forum.

I like the idea, and I don't. It might open things up to deeper conversation on specifics, and make it easier to access Krisp's vids, when he posts them. But on the other hand, I like the bullitain board style of chat, and there is generally less than 20 posts a day by less than 10 different people. Opening it up might attract more people, don't know if that's a good thing...

I think keep it as a thread, until it starts hitting like, 40 posts a day.

Brock Lesnar has got me interested in this again, so I would approve of a separate forum.

cant you put a sub forum inside the sports forum?

Should I close this thread or leave it opened? I feel like if I leave it open, everyone will just post stuff in this thread and that kinda defeats the purpose of having a forum.

But if I close it, people might not post as much possibly because it's easier to post in a big thread than start your own.

Loose Cannon

probably close it and we'll see how it goes I guess.

I'm at work right now, but I'll set up some sticky threads in here that will be good to have when I get home.

thanks for the forum though Trips :y:
