You know, "616's Reed's" expression looks a bit "satirical". Something about it made me think it's a fake surprised look.

Ultimate is the goods for the most part. Ultimates 1 and 2 are some of my favorite books. Ultimates 3, along with Ultimatum are the drizzling shits, however.

I read ultimate avengers, and that was really good, so they seem to be back on track.

Ultimate Spider-Man is always kind of a mixed bag for me. I really liked Peter Parker's personality and his banter (I haven't read Miles Morales yet, so I don't know whether I like him), and some of the takes on the villains and supporting cast are really good. However, there are a lot of things that never cease to irritate me, like the Goblin looking like the Hulk, Doc Ock having weird Magneto powers, Uncle Ben being a hippie, Carnage eating Gwen Stacy and then basically pooping out a new one later, etc. The first few volumes are definitely worth checking out, though.

I liked the whole Peter/Kitty thing. Should have drawn that out longer.

Loved his encounters with kingpin.

On a related note, does anyone know what issue of 616 spider-man that he beats living shit out of kingpin for trying to kill aunt may? It was like right after he revealed his identity.

Was out yesterday and like a boss, remembered that I wanted to buy AvX Round #2 one stop before the comic shop. Get off and go in and look and only see AvX #1 and I am all like "what the hell, they can't be sold out that fast" so I pick up AvX #1 and read the finally panel "To be continued...in TWO weeks" muttered "fuck sake" under my breath and proceeded to browse a bit more.

Think I am going to go back and get that variant cover (or hell, all of them) since it is the first series I have got into.

Just read the first 8 issues of Wolverine and the X-men and I love it.

Such a breath of fresh air from the deathly serious x books we've been getting the last few years. Legit has made me laugh out loud at parts, and is in general just a really fun book. Highly recommended, though Bachalo's art style isn't everyone's cup of tea. I'm a fan, personally.

At San Diego Comic-Con last summer, Marvel TV Head Jeph Loeb said that Agents of S.M.A.S.H. would feature Hulk, Red Hulk, She-Hulk, Skaar and A-Bomb, and revealed that Paul Dini (Batman: The Animated Series, Arkham City, Ultimate Spider-Man) was working on the series. In the fall, at New York Comic-Con Leob also said that She-Hulk has some of the best lines in the show.

How did I miss this? And Eliza Dusku is voicing She-Hulk. The flying guy from Heroes is doing Iron-Man in a cameo (he's Stark in the Iron Man anime).

Only because it got renumbered. I think it hit issue 50, then picked up the numbering of the original X-Factor series so skipped straight to 200. By my count that means the current series has been running for maybe 85-ish issues and is still going.

Good series, but I've fallen way behind with it.

Holy shit. 25 issues in on Joss Whedon's run of Astonishing X-Men and I've loved every second of it so far. I'm a sucker for the Kitty storylines though. Also, Cyclops really gets developed as a character much more than I've seen so far. They do an incredible job of playing off of his bitterness spawning from Jean and his slight jealous towards Logan.

Whedon's run on astonishing, is for my money, the best run on a book in the last decade. After he and cassidy left, the book was garbage. Hated the new artist, and the dialogue and character interactions were cardboard and boring.

Though Brubaker's run on Captain America is VERY close.

Been hopping around series like a madman but that's the way I like it. Decided I wanted to catch up with Spidey so I'm starting Amazing Spiderman from Brand New Day (Issue #546). If there's any single issues or storylines I should read or catch up on before 546, let me know. I've never followed much of the web head before cause it seemed a bit intimidating jumping in to a huge numbered series like that.

I jumped on to spiderman during the Back In Black storyline.I think you should give that a read. It's got some decent stuff in it which I was disappointed to see retconned out.

That being said I was certainly a fan of the brand new day "villain of the month" formula. It let a ton of great artisits and writers work together and tell some fun stories. In fact it was this that got me back into reading comics full time.

I think the only really lame thing to happen in Spiderman in the last few years has been origin of the species. One moment in time was kind of a disappointment, but Origin is just the worst.

Did not enjoy spidey from the clone saga all the way to brand new day. Exception being when he went public with his identity. Thought that would freshen up the character, and give him lots of new types of stories to work with, but One More Day cancelled it out.

I want to say that I like the idea of Pete not being with MJ anymore, but the execution and fallout of the story was abysmal.

I still don't even understand how that works in relation to all the other books he's in.

Just watched Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Wasn't brilliant, but wasn't as bad as a lot of reviews made it out to be. Not really better or worse than the first one, either.

My biggest complaint, similar to the first movie, is that there's really not enough of Ghost Rider cutting loose. All the fights consist of him whipping his chain around and riding his motorcycle. I mean, he defeated Blackout in about a minute, and he even beat the devil guy (can't remember what he was calling himself) with no fight whatsoever.

Not a hater of Nicolas Cage, but I never really thought he was right for this role.

But on a positive note, the CGI is pretty good. Especially the Rider himself. He looked pretty fucking awesome. Kinda wish he'd spoke a bit more, and thought his Penence Stare was pretty crap. The first movie got it right, with the glowing eyes, the flashbacks of the evil stuff the villain had done, but here, he pretty much just looks and growls at people while they look scared, but the non-GR fans will have no idea what's going on. This is especially the case with the fight with Blackout.

Overall, it was alright. Nothing amazing, but then anyone who actually goes into a film about Ghost Rider expecting The Dark Knight deserves nothing less.

AAAAAND just finished watching X-Men: First Class. Now I'm fully up to speed with my Marvel movies.

Fucking loved this movie. Ah, I remember how we all mocked it when it was first announced, and how Magneto with his helmet looked stupid in that picture. But this movie was awesome. After one viewing I'm not gonna say it's better than the others since I've enjoyed all the X-Men movies (Including 'Last Stand' and Wolverine), but this was definitely a great movie, which ended perfectly setup for a sequel.

Felt really tragic and sad throughout the whole movie, knowing how things will ultimately end up. Very much like how powerless we all felt watching the Star Wars prequel trilogy, knowing that Anakin will eventually turn into Darth Vader.

I have only one issue with this movie. Only one. It's small, it's silly, and it's really meaningless, but it's also fucking huge to me that from the moment I saw it, I couldn't stop thinking about it!!!

http://blogs.coventrytelegraph.net/thegeekfiles/Beast%20poster%20X-Men%20First%20Class.jpg http://static.moviefanatic.com/images/gallery/beast.jpg

Just thought Beast looked really stupid and goofy in this movie! I can understand they were trying to capture more of a 90's-look Beast, before his mutation fully evolved and he looked more animalistic, but it really didn't translate so well on the big screen in my opinion. 'Last Stand' Beast looked fucking awesome, 'First Class' Beast looked really cheap and goofy.

Overall though, great fucking movie! Sequel apparently starts filming in January 2013! Can't wait for this!

So, with the recent success of Thor, Captain America, *ahem* Ghost Rider *ahem*, X-Men: First Class and of course The Avengers, and with Spider-Man just around the corner, this is why Marvel is so far ahead of DC when it comes to movies.

Yes, DC has the Batman trilogy, but once The Dark Knight Rises is out, their hype machine will likely die down a little.

Marvel on the other hand, are already well on their way to giving us another Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, FUCKING AVENGERS and X-Men, and surely we haven't seen the last of Spider-Man. Plus we have The Wolverine, which will hopefully have some kind of reference to the X-Men movies, since it's pretty established now that despite continuity errors, these movies are all part of the same X-Universe.

Great fucking times ahead for Marvel fans. :D :D :D :D :D

P.S. Someone posted this on a previous page, but it's a good point to bring up. It's really sad that something I got ridiculed and mocked in school for reading and collecting has now become a worldwide sensation.

P.P.S. On the other hand, it's great that two of the biggest, highly-anticipated movies this year, and of recent years, are both comic book movies. Considering the state the comic world was in 15 years ago, it's really cool to see how huge these things, the comics themselves and the movies, have become. :)

We don't know what the formula is for Superman in Hollywood. He had two incredible movies decades ago. And he, literally, only just came back in 2006 with something good but not quite what fans were expecting. We can't say what the problem is for certain, we can only guess.

I doubt it's because he doesn't beat people up, but it may be a factor. They should look to Superman of the DCAU to see what really sticks. Superman's World of Cardboard speech at the finale is something I think fans and mainstream can agree with for a Superman.

Hollywood appears to not want Superman to throw down on a villain for some reason. And it's a damn shame because there's a few in his gallery that could give him a nice punch up fight. That's what I'm getting at.

It is very sad to see DC not be able to pull of films to the capacity that Marvel has. Kinda funny, because as of late I have been getting into DC much more. Going back and reading important stories and what not.
I feel like DC at times are a bit too conservative with their characters perhaps?
My problem with Superman is that I want to see him fight a villain that will push him to the edge. Sort of what Shadow is saying.

Rammsteinmad
05-07-2012, 05:04 PM
Yeah, that's pretty much what I've always been saying. Really wanna see Superman vs. Doomsday on the big screen. Sick of seeing Lex Luthor and other humanoid villains.

But ultimately I feel DC just doesn't have the roster for mainstream audiences. Other than Batman and Superman, I really don't think non-comic fans care about other DC characters. I mean, I don't think anyone really cared about Blade all that much before his movies came out, but DC just can't seem to get it right when Batman isn't involved. I mean... why was there a Catwoman movie before Green Lantern? And why does Johan Hex even have a movie to begin with?

Iron Man 3 - May 3, 2013. Thor 2 - November 15, 2013. Captain America 2 - April 4, 2014. All confirmed.

Avengers 2 will likely be in 2015 then. As before, it seems Cap's movie will precede the team-up.

Iron Man 3 has been reported to adapt the Extremis storyline, the book itself something of a reboot for Iron Man years ago with his mainstream sleek armor and added powers. It deals with a nano-machine version of the super-soldier serum, which would make it topical with the MCU. The Mandarin, or some version of him, will be the villain. Expect requisite new armor and possible new abilities that makes Stark rather superhuman.

Thor 2 was spoken of to include other worlds, and explore Thor and Loki's brotherhood following Avengers. Jane Foster and Dr. Selvic will return. No word on the Warrior's Three and Sif, though I think they're likely. Also no word on the villain. There was lots of interest by both Chris and Tom about Loki's possible redemption, jury's out on how much of their input will be added to the story.

Cap 2 sees Steve still the man out of time working with SHIELD. Kevin Fiege revealed that he may meet old allies from his old time. Bucky's actor as signed for multiple pictures though there was no talk of Winter Soldier. With the SHIELD angle, Nick Fury, Hawkeye, and Black Widow are likely to appear. The comics show that Hydra is still alive and well in modern times. Explaining Winter Soldier's longevity would also be a good time to expand on Nick Fury's allusion to his actual age - as well as Black Widow if they adapted that part of her comic version.

The new macro-arc may involve Thano's presence. Since the last major arc was the Avengers coming together, using SHIELD and Nick Fury as the thread, these new movies could be connected by indirectly connected villains. It helps that unlike many other superhero movies, villains aren't killed off as much. Tony's rival Justin Hammer is alive and vowed revenge. Red Skull is still out there in the universe, his super-soldier serum may have helped him age well. Loki lives, of course, as do an entire planet of Frost Giants who had their king killed by an Asgardian (and what is Loki's place in that kingdom technically speaking?).

So let's talk villains then:

The Mandarin's presence was made known in the Iron Man movies, with the Ten Rings adapted as a international terrorist organization. Whiplash received his forged papers to head to Morocco by a Ten Rings agent (confirmed by Word of God). The Mandarin is the likely payoff to these hints. With my theory that the underpinning of these movies will be the villains at work, how does he fare in the larger universe? Well if he's the head of this terrorist regime in the MCU, he most likely got on SHIELD's radar long ago. Tony's not an agent of SHIELD, so his knowledge of them is as good as any civilian. Facing the Mandarin may force Tony to cross paths with SHIELD once again.

In Thor 2, Loki is likely bound and chained as a prisoner. Odin would never sentence his son to death, and you kinda wanna keep a character as awesome as this alive (or...). This also jives with interest in redeeming him, which is in any case a common comic book trope. Thor 2 is important since the Infinity Gauntlet was last seen in Thor, and it is a major item in regard to Thanos. There are plenty of Thor villains that can be used as the main threat in Thor 2, namely The Enchantress and Executioner. But bear with me on this; that Thanos could make is full reveal within Thor 2 itself. His acquisition of the gauntlet simply isn't something to leave between movies, and may be too major an event to slip in a post-credits scene or even DVD extra short film. Also, and most curiously, if Thanos would make an 11th hour appearance as in Thor 2 - would Loki's redemption be in the form of sacrificing himself against this major threat?

While we're still talking Asgard, I wonder what would the rules be as far as death is concerned in the MCU. You see, Agent Coulson was killed by an Asgardian - so would that make him available to Hela's domain? Under certain circumstances, one can return from the dead if Hela can be convinced...

On to Cap 2, as mentioned Hydra may still be around. There a few Cap villains to use in that regard, but I can't help but think about Winter Soldier. Cap 2 is said to invoke espionage. I see this as a super-powered Tom Clancy movie, rich with historical revelations of dark politics. This is certainly perfect for Winter Soldier who was modeled into a Russian assassin, which may have been Black Widow's fate once upon a time. But wait, since we're talking international intrigue let's go back to The Mandarin and his Ten Rings outfit. Is the Ten Rings related to Hydra? Perhaps an evolved form? A spin-off? Do they know of each other? How about Red Skull returning to reclaim his army? What has he seen in the void that drove Loki so far (assuming his fate was similar to Loki's). Red Skull doing some world hopping and appearing in Cap 2 would tie Cap to the larger cosmos, which is what needs to happen in some way if this 'villain-focused thread' is to be followed.

And as for Avenger 2... Thanos may not be the main villain after all. My final theory points the finger at Hela herself. Once again somebody from Thor's life may come to wreck things. You see Whedon made clear that Thanos is intact in the MCU, love of death and all. But I think we can't go and introduce some intangible concept of death, even after the fantastical things the MCU has allowed. That leads me to Asgard's incarnation of the character: Hela. In the MCU Thanos is actually in love with Hela and she will use this to her advantage as a major villain. What's the plan? I can only guess... perhaps she wants to claim all human life. Maybe she wants to be bigger than a soul manager. But that's the best I got.

I could be wrong about all of my thoughts but based on what I know and heard, this is my view of the MCU going forward.

I really don't want Thanos to be the main villain in Avengers 2. I'd much rather throw that onto Avengers 3. Let the Masters of Evil be our main bad guys for 2 and then bring it all together for 3 in one epic movie the likes of which we shall never see in our lives again.

Is it in any of the story arcs that are being rumoured or speculated about being used in future movies? Just wondering because me and my friend were wondering if Whedon continues on with the Avengers movies, whether or not he'd be killing off other major characters at some point, as is kinda his way.

Leading up to The Avengers, all the post-credit sequences were all about connecting the heroes and their world, and SHIELD.

Could be "cool" if in this batch of movies leading to Avengers 2, they have scenes that connect the villains to each other. Some sort of Marvel equivalent of an Injustice League/Society/Legion of Doom situation.

The problem with thanos being in love with hela is that she is only the godess of death in asgard. Thanos himself works on a scale far, far beyond that of Hela, and his fixation is on the living embodiment of death, not simply a shepard like hela, let alone a shepard of one world.

Masters of Evil and the Sinister Six are the only villain teams with remotely prominent villains. Even then, a good portion of the members of the masters of evil are pretty weak.

I would still say go with Ultron in the second film, with a bit of Thanos and his thralls working in the shadows, and then do The Infinity Gauntlet in Avengers 3.

Who knows, maybe by the time 3 comes around, they can get the license to the FOX owned properties, and have a true epic marvel crossover movie.

It's possible, especially if Thanos really is the main villain.

The scale of that story is so epic, though, and Thanos so powerful a villain, that there really isn't anywhere to go but down from there. That's why I'd rather they save it. Whedon himself said that he put Thanos in because he is the ultimate bad guy in the Marvel Universe.

If Fox and Sony collaborated with Marvel Studios on this, making War of Gems a cross-production venture - it would end the world in awesomeness. There would no longer be a need for comic-book movies.

If he was calling the shots on his own team before the X-Men were even a thing, then that's......pretty much undoing the entire point of the character. Marvel Makes It Official On 'The View': Northstar Will Marry His Boyfriend In Historic X-Men Issue

Using the chatty mouths found on the ladies of The View (of all places) to make one of its biggest announcements in years, Marvel made it official on Tuesday morning: Northstar will propose to and marry his boyfriend Kyle in a landmark story arc for The Astonishing X-Men.

First teased with a mysterious "Save the Date" issued in March, it has since been speculated by countless fanboy sites and industry blogs that Northstar would be the character tying the knot. The announcement on The View today put an end to the churning of the rumor mill and gave a thumbs up to everyone's best guess. For the first time in Marvel's history, two men will marry.

"In Astonishing X-Men #50, gay X-Man Northstar will propose to his boyfriend Kyle, with a marriage in an upcoming issue," Whoopi revealed on Tuesday's episode. “That’s kind of amazing," she added. “When I was a kid and I used to read these magazines, you never saw an array of people."

Issue #50, the proposal, will hit stands tomorrow with the marriage issue slated for #51 in June. (Yay! A June wedding!)

Though I always cry at weddings, this one, if you don't mind me outing myself as a lifelong comic book geek, will unhinge the flood gates. The X-Men universe was my playground in young childhood, my escape from bullying in my pre-teen and teen years and my nostalgic way to relax in the evenings in these, my adult years. It's not exactly coincidental that right around the time Northstar said "I am gay" in 1992 I, for the first time, considered echoing those words.

Oddly enough, being able to relate to the X-Men always helped me feel normal. With my nose stuck in between the pages of each and every issue, deeply inhaling the musky scent so that as many senses as possible were able to experience the story, I finally did fit in somewhere, no matter whatever the kid up the street shouted my way.

Twenty years after Northstar came out of the closet, I still know firsthand the significance of what having an out X-Man marrying his boyfriend will mean to the countless young LGBT. It's a landmark moment in pop culture, a storyline decades in the making for Marvel and a watershed for comic book fans young and young at heart alike. Kids outside the bubble of politics (a world that itself has rapidly evolved toward marriage equality in recent months) will finally have a major mainstream and accessible character making his dreams of marrying his partner come true. If Northstar can marry his boyfriend, why won't they be able to in the near future?

It may seem fun and trivial and no more than a pop culture meme destined to fizzle as soon as the honeymoon ends, but let me assure you: the moment Northstar slips that ring on his boyfriends finger, gay kids around the world will be forever changed.

Not much information to go by but according to Deadline, James Badge Dale will play Savin, a villain in Iron Man 3.

Robert Downey Jr stars as Tony Stark/Iron Man and Shane Black is directing. Ben Kinsgley has been rumored as The Mandarin, and Gwyneth Paltrow and Rebecca Hall are also in the film. Production has just begun on the third movie.

UPDATE: Variety reported the story about James Badge Dale joining Iron Man 3 and included that his character of Savin is 'Eric Savin, he's a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army put in charge of Project: Ultra. After stepping on a land mine, cybernetic surgery is performed on him and he's resurrected as the cyborg Coldblood.'

Completely disagree.

First off, as far as storytelling goes, it doesn't matter if it's marvel or dc. That comes down to the writer. I do think it's easier to write character driven stories in Marvel, because that was the whole basis of silver age Marvel, and it still shows today.

I will give DC credit in that they typically do the big epic crossover better.

Most of the DC universe doesn't do anything for me, but there's a lot of Marvel stuff that sucks me in.

The Spidey Suit looks like Spider-man so it wouldn't make sense. Anyone can throw on the IP armor.

It doesn't matter how iconic osborn is, the Iron Patriot suit isn't. It wasn't even originally designed for Osborn. The suit first showed up as just some random Iron Man art, and like a year later they used it for Osborn.

What Figgy and me are saying is the Iron Patriot armor showing up in an Iron Man movie makes more sense and causes less drama than, say, Norman busting it out in Amazing Spider-Man 3. Which raises more questions? Stark armor in a Stark movie or it being in Spider-Man, which would look strange no matter what the 616 history says.

And there's a underlying thread of patriotism in the MCU, where an Iron Patriot appearance would yield 'good' drama - if anything but for the countless Cap references RDJ can improve in a post-Avengers period. Norman as Iron Patriot would make Reavant and 14 others feel good but I tell you it would not work.

It's Iron Patriot here or not at all in movies.

Certainly there were discussions, Marvel Studios isn't that sloppy. If Witch/Quicksilver is anything to go by, they're ready to avoid any legal missteps ahead of time.

And Sony more than likely has no interest in Norman's Iron Patriot stint with so much Spidey history they can draw from for many more movies.

If you seriously have beef with this, then you probably hated IM 2, considering Whiplash was actually an amalgam of Whiplash and Crimson Dynamo.
bah no you dont get it... I could care less how the movies adapt characters as long as they work....
Also, from a legal standpoint, the Iron Patriot Name and Costume probably has a separate trademark from Osborn, considering it was created after Sony aquired the Spidey license.
This is where my problem is.... If they can get away with this without pissing sony off then where exactly is the line?

Just noticed that armor on the forearms and shoulders looks more like war machine.

It's obviously not going to be Norman Osborn inside the suit and is probably a completely different character. Could be Tony Stark suited up for a 4th of July party for all we know.

So I doubt Sony care.

Marvel's The Avengers Teases a 10-Disc Blu-ray Release

Source: Amazon
June 1, 2012

Still doing incredible business in theaters, Marvel's The Avengers is on its way to DVD and Blu-ray later this year. Though an official date is still unconfirmed, an interesting tease has shown up Amazon for something called the "Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One - Avengers Assembled" Blu-ray collection. The tentative list of content for the ten-disc set reads as follows:

 Marvels The Avengers (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray)
Captain America: The First Avenger (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray)
 Thor (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray)
 Iron Man 2 (Blu-ray)
 The Incredible Hulk (Blu-ray)
 Iron Man (Blu-ray)
Bonus Disc - The Phase One Archives (Blu-ray)
Collectible packaging with exclusive memorabilia from the Marvel Cinematic Universe

The listing also includes the below image, which hints that the set might mimic the briefcase that Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury uses to transport the Cosmic Cube. Whatever is under the S.H.I.E.L.D. cloth, though, is said to be revealed on July 15th.

That doesn't concern me with comic movies.

Kalyx triaD
06-04-2012, 05:09 PM
I mean, it's nice when the actors bulk up, either initially (Evans) or progressively (Reeves, Jackman) - but that's ultimately something people should get over.

Kalyx triaD
06-04-2012, 05:12 PM
Evans lost much of his bulk going into Avengers, didn't matter. Jeremy didn't seem to care. Bale is actually kinda frail in this Batman series (though one could debate how that works there). But really, does it matter in the end?

Reavant
06-04-2012, 06:50 PM
Him losiing size from thor to avengers isnt much of a problem because he is still bigger than the cast so who notices.

I think the bulk of evans is lost more because of the style of the suit more than anything he did.

The way I see it, bruce wayne can look how he wants, but when he is in the bat suit is whats important and theres nothing frail about him when hes suited up.

The dynamic between sabretooth and wolverine is rooted and iconic. With the relationship that they have to the comics, it would be pretty important to have sabretooth be much more imposing to wolverine in order to give the illusion that he can beat the shit out of him like he does in most of that movie. It also adds to the scariness of his character that not only is he a physical threat but also the evil, intelligent danger.

liv pulled off the evil intelligence and cunning, but his character isnt as powerful as his comic counterpart..

Kalyx triaD
06-04-2012, 06:57 PM
I understand, but I never got the feeling that Liv wasn't a convincing physical threat. He certainly seemed more stock than Jackman, and looked feral enough in Origins.

Iron Man 3

Photos from the North Carolina locations for Iron Man 3 have revealed that an organization that has wreaked havoc in the Marvel Universe is making an appearance in the film. The real world headquarters of game developer Epic Games has been redressed for the film as the HQ of A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics), the terrorist group led by power-hungry scientists that was introduced the Marvel Universe in 1966 in Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s Strange Tales #146.

The photos posted by ReelMovieNation depicting the A.I.M. headquarters building dovetail nicely with the previous announcement that Guy Pearce would be playing geneticist Aldrich Killain in Iron Man 3 (see “Sin City, Iron Man Casting News”), a clear indication that the IM3 screenplay incorporates portions of the Warren Ellis-penned Iron Man Extremis storyline in which a nanotechnological drug developed by Dr. Aldrich Killain (with effects much like a demented version of the “Super Soldier” serum) has been stolen and put to evil use by terrorists.

Speculation about the plot of Iron Man 3 centers on Killain either working for A.I.M. or having his nano-drug stolen by the scientist-led terrorist organization. Will the M.O.D.O.K. (Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing) make an appearance? Will all the A.I.M. execs wear yellow suits? Probably not--judging from the previously released Marvel Studios films, it appears that the studio’s screenwriters mix and match elements from the numerous appropriate comic book storylines to create a narrative that is reminiscent of, but hardly identical to, the actual comic book stories.

How will all this fit in with the character played by Ben Kingsley, who is reported to be The Mandarin? Well it appears that Iron Man 3 has yet to give up all its secrets.

I'm cool with X-Men getting a reboot. XMFC was better than the first three X-Men movies, which were basically all just Wolverine and some people with the X-Men's powers who don't really act like the X-Men. So maybe this time we'll get to see more faithful portrayals of all the characters who don't have adamantium claws.

Also, Days of Future Past was one of the best X-Men storylines ever, so I'm glad to see they're doing that. About goddamn time we get some Sentinels in this franchise.

If EMH's cancelation was the nail in the coffin, here's pissing on the grave:

Spectacular Spider-Man has a guest spot on EMH this season, and of course he was voiced by Josh Keaton. Was...

His lines have been redubbed by Drake Bell, current star of Ultimate Spider-Man. Not only is the old universe dying, we get dirt in our eye all in the name of brand consistency. This really sucks, as I would have liked hearing Keaton as Parker one last time - and on a terrific show.

About the new cartoons, Hulk/SMASH and Avengers Assemble:

"There are two huge projects that we're working on. The first, we know the impact that The Avengers had — and continues to have — this summer, and there's one particular character who has been the breakout hit of the summer and he's big and he's green and he's our Incredible Hulk. So we started talking about it and we thought what's more fun than one Hulk? And that would actually be five Hulks! That cast is Hulk; the Red Hulk; Skaar, who's the teenage barbarian Hulk, She Hulk — who's actually been a character in the Marvel Universe for 30 years; and a relatively new character, A-Bomb. He's more of a Blue Hulk. And together they are Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H."

"The Avengers movie has been the ambassador to the world for the Marvel Universe so we want a show that has the feel and the tone and the incredible adventures like that movie. So the next project that we're working on — and this is down in our lab, top secret, with the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents protecting us at all costs — is Marvel's Avengers Assemble, which will be a brand new and really extraordinary looking animated series dealing with the Avengers in that same world."
