What Formula is this based upon, too lazy to go find it.

I'm doing a weekly "Power Poll" based on the strength of who teams have beaten and lost to. Basically, I started each team out ranked 1-32 based on their records from last season. From then on, points are awarded based on the outcome of each teams game.

For example, if a team beats the current lowest ranked team in the league, they get 1 point. If they beat the highest ranked team in the league, they get 32 points and so on. However, if they lose to the lowest ranked team in the league they lose 32 points. Losing to the highest ranked team in the league only loses you 1 point and so on. That way points are rewarded specifically on who you've beaten and how good they were when you beat them.

lol, dunno how the Rams are 5th, but woooooo

Their wins came against Arizona when they were undefeated, a good, high ranked Seattle team and Washington who looked strong after starting the season with a win over New Orleans so they got some good points from those wins. Their losses came against pretty good teams too so they didn't lose a whole lot from those.

Add that to the fact that the league is currently in a mess of mediocrity right now where everyone seems to be striving just to be .500 and it's not that crazy.

I think the London experiment is gonna fail if some team doesn't wanna do it full time. Like the Cowboys and Lions working Thanksgiving. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Emperor Smeat
10-16-2012, 08:12 PM
I thought it was a rotation thing and nothing full time. The original plan was for every team to do it at least once or twice before certain teams started to complain.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Jags consider London as a potential future home since they locked up a game for them there the next 4 years in a row.

STAT OF THE DAY: There are only 2 teams in the AFC with a winning record, compared to 7 in the NFC

The a in afc stands for average.

I am displeased because they should easily be 0-6 instead of 2-4 right now. No excuses for the Lions (44-41 OT, week 3)and the Steelers (26-23 this past Thursday) to have lost those games

So it displeases you that your favorite NFL team has won more games than you think they should have.

Makes sense.

Rob Ryan hopes a new name doesn't equate to the same game. The Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator is very aware that his unit has just one takeaway in five games. So, he's done talking about takeaways. Now, they're looking for "takeovers."

"Obviously we're not good at getting turnovers," Ryan told the Dallas Morning News. "So we're going to get 'takeovers' this week. We changed the name, so I think we'll do much better."

... Is this guy fucking retarded?

 Jets tried to complain to the NFL that the Pats offense is too fast in the sense that they can't sub their defense players because of how quickly the Pats snap the ball most of the time even though they also admitting there is nothing illegal about it.

Nobody else has complained with even the Ravens coach wanting his team to match that kind of speed (about 3-4 seconds slower for snaps).

According to Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com, the National Football League is investigating the San Diego Chargers for possibly using an illegal "Stick 'em"-like substance during their 35-24 loss to the Denver Broncos last Monday night.

"NFL Security has already begun investigation as SD equipment man was hiding illegal sticky substance and giving to players. Line judge saw it and had it confiscated and sent to Broncos and league", Glazer posted on Twitter.

The equipment manager had the substance hidden in hand towels and the line judge (Jeff Bergman) noticed it during a timeout and made the equipment manager in question empty his pockets. The NFL takes issues of competitive advantages seriously and Glazer adds that sanctions by the NFL could range from a substantial fine to the possible forfeiture of draft picks, the latter of which may depend on how many individuals were involved in using or distributing the illegal substance.

"Stickum" has been outlawed by the National Football League since after the 1980 season. The substance is most closely associated with former Oakland Raiders cornerback Lester Hayes, who would slather the sticky substance on his arms and hands during games. Though it has been banned, players have continued to utilize similar substances, using anything at their disposal to gain a competitive advantage. Former NFL player, head coach and current ESPN analyst Herm Edwards said that, even after the ban, he would place a small amount of Stickum on the inside of his cleats to use at key moments during games.

At what point in the game the discovery was made is unknown, so it would be a stretch to assume that the Chargers blowing a 24-point halftime lead can be traced to this incident. However, it is worth noting that, according to Stats, Inc., the Chargers do not have a player anywhere near the league lead in dropped passes this season. Instead of giving the substance to the Chargers receivers, perhaps the equipment manager should have handed it to Philip Rivers, who was intercepted four times and lost a pair of fumbles against the Broncos.
All the wheels are coming off.

They were pointing out that when an offence makes subs a ref has to stand over the ball to allow adequate time for the defence to make subs too. Fair enough really. Apparently the Jets were watching tape of the Patriots/Broncos game and this wasn't happening.

Yeah I get why they'd have an issue but the way they made it seem was like the Pats were the only team to ever do this even though nobody ever complained when the Colts did this for years and mastered the technique.

I think more teams in the NFC do it this year and the Ravens are the closest to the Pats in the AFC in terms of speed.

What a game. Offensive line has woken up finally for the first time since 2010. Running game has been promising the last 2 weeks and that always gives a QB like Sanchez a chance. Just weren't clinical enough to clinch it. Sparano needs to get Tebow more involved on those goal line situations. I'm still adamant they are saving him for December for when they need that bit extra.

Lol, looks like our plan to lock up the overall first draft pick is going perfectly.

Knowing Gene Smith though, he'll waste the pick on either a fullback or a long snapper.
