Evil Vito
09-30-2012, 11:46 PM
Welp, that sucked. I wasn't surprised Tynes came up short though. He CAN kick it 54 yards, but he's probably still got one of the weaker legs in the league. He's more of an accuracy guy.

This all came down to the INT in the end zone, as I figured it would. That's still no excuse for the Giants just letting the Eagles march down the field constantly.

2-2 isn't the end of the world. I didn't think 9-7 would be able to clinch the NFC East again, but 4 weeks in and I'm ready to change my tune. The whole division is just a clusterfuck.

Glad I had a pre-scheduled vacation day today. :o Going to work the day after a heartbreaking Sunday Night loss is probably one of the worst feelings in sports.

I still think that last play to Barden was stupid. After the first PI call I was calling for the Giants to just kick the field goal and call it a day. Eagles would have had about 10 seconds left for a kick return and one last offensive snap (trick play probably), but I'd have taken my chances.

Now comes the Browns and the inevitable talk about whether or not it's a trap game. They're 0-4 but haven't been blown out. Giants better handle their business though because it's still clearly the easiest game they have left on their calendar.

I hope Phillips didn't blow out his knee last night. Couple of plays could have gone the Giants way if he was in there.

10-01-2012, 11:24 AM
Yeah that last pass to Barden really wasn't needed. At that point I was pulling for the Giants to just run it up the middle, spike it, and try for the FG to call it a day.

Exactly :o

Romo sucks and the cowboys will never win anything with him as theur starting qb.

That's a fact

He is a solid QB, but he has no "clutch" or "big game" instincts in him. He also has had the misfortune of playing for a head coach who doesn't run the football enough despite the proven production, an o-line whose pass protection is completely incompetent sometimes, and WRs who are forget what the "receiver" part of wide receiver means.

Personally, I think Jason Garrett needs to be fired if the Cowboys do not win a playoff game. He was part of the previous staff, so he shouldn't have as long of a leash as a completely new guy. Jerry Jones is still a large part of the problem in Dallas because I don't believe Jerry will ever give up enough control to entice a legitimate head coach with a pair of nuts to come to Dallas. I still believe Parcells would have won a Super Bowl in Dallas if Jerry Jones would have let a fucking Hall of Famer do his job.

Nah. Buffalo came out of nowhere and started out blowing out a Kansas City team that didn't show up at all early in the year and then struggling and having to come back to beat a bad Oakland team at home and then had that one standout win against New England but it was a division game at home... not something you can put a ton of stock into.

Arizona didn't exactly come out of nowhere as they were really good the last half of last season. Now they've already had huge wins in beating New England on the road and blowing out an otherwise undefeated Philly team and they haven't even had to rely on Fitzgerald yet.

I'm not saying they're a lock to go 13-3 or anything but I think they've proven more than Buffalo had at this point by doing it at the end of last year too and carrying it over so well.

A lot of the Bills problems last year could also be attributed to how shitty Ryan Fitzpatrick was after he signed his extension during the season. Played great before the extension and almost seemed like he stopped caring or being motivated once he got his mega deal.

Kolb on the other hand still needs to prove he's worth the deal the Cards gave him and if he starts to slip up a lot again, Skelton gets the job back once he's healed up. So Kolb knows he has to stay motivated just to ensure he keeps his starting spot which right now has really benefited the Cards.

Tannehill cut them up in AZ (I'd say Hartline moreso since he seemed to be the only receiver Tannehill went to all day) in a game they won anyway but they also went into New England and held Tom Brady and the Patriots without a touchdown until the final couple minutes in a winning effort. And you shouldn't be scared of the offense but you should be scared of Fitzgerald. He's arguably the best WR in football and the fact that they've gone 4-0 without really have to rely on him is scary.

The thing is though, Buffalo was relying on Fitzpatrick to win games before he signed his extension. The team went as he did.
