And while they're at it maybe they can find about 20 decent football players..

And while they're at it maybe they can find about 20 decent football players..

You are willfully ignorant to think Cleveland doesn't have talent. It has appeared for awhile now that Cleveland's woes were more to do with the organization itself than anything else. That is about to change drastically and I hope for the better. I don't mind Cincy and Cleveland has that certain loveable oaf charm about them. Pittsburgh and Baltimore can go fuck off and die.

If Cleveland came that close to beating Baltimore while lacking decent football players that bad, you should really be worried about your team, Droford.

espn now has bill romanowski doing some of this first take shit. today he comments on how terrible marijuana is for you (pretty sure his facts are off, but don't really care) and how nfl players shouldn't be allowed to take it.

potheads and nfl fans have now taken to twitter to blow him up about his hypocritical stance. great times. pretty sure he is a lil bit disabled from the concussions

also seems dumb that they'd have him rail on about how players shouldn't do drugs, but then don't ask him about his steroid use.

Just for argument's sake, let's just say the Colts did win the Super Bowl this year...

And then Pagano is ready to come back next year...

Does Bruce Arians really lead a "rebuilding" team with a rookie QB to a Super Bowl championship and then go back to being offensive coordinator? What a weird situation that would make.

SlickyTrickyDamon
11-08-2012, 08:58 PM
Wouldn't it be illegal for the Colts to fire or demote Pagano for getting sick? I think they'd legally have to do it like that.

He could just coach another team if he wants, but it's Pagano's job.

Probably would considering the closest situation to that is with the Saints having Payton out but knows he returns once his suspension is over regardless how well the interim does.

Arians stock would shoot up so the moment he wants to move on or becomes available, a bunch of teams would be ready to offer him a head coaching job.

6-3? Really? I'm blown away by this. Luck ( a rookie ) is out there throwing to TY HIlton ( rookie ), Dwayne Allen ( Rookie ) Brazil ( rookie ), Wayne ( supposedly at the end of his career last year ), Donnie Avery ( Supposedly done because of knee injuries ), Colby Fleener ( rookie ). He's being protected by an average O Line ( Accept for Castanzo. Castanzo might be a main stay in the Pro Bowl for a while. He's handing the ball off to a rookie, Vick Ballard.

6-3??????? Wow. Luck might need to get some MVP hype to be honest. I'm not saying he should win it, but lets be honest here. This is amazing. He's pretty damn good.

Assuming Chuck Pagano makes a full recovery, you gotta figure Bruce Arians will be getting a head coaching job elsewhere next season. Small sample size and everything, but it'll probably be enough to get him hired. Wouldn't be surprised to see him in the NFC East actually with Reid and Garrett likely goners, maybe even Shanahan too.

Cant argue that. What he's doing with Rookies and Free Agents is unreal to be quite honest. I hope he stays, cause he's really awesome. I love the guy. He's really the underrated hero of this whole story. The job he's doing is amazing. I really hope we show good at New England. I dont think we'll win, but to show good would be amazing.

When you think about it, the whole concept of this thread is retarded. Just a bunch of people talking about their favorite team or their team's game. Occasionally we talk about other teams and other games (props to #1-wwf-fan for doing that today), but 90% of the posts in here are just us telling other people what's going on with our favorite teams.

We need more conversation in here.

If there was a game people would played where they draft real life football players and put them on some sort of paper team... a "fantasy" team if you will... where yards and touchdowns and such translated into points for your "team" then the person who drafted Doug Martin would be in a very good spot right now.

If only there was a way we could compile these stats in an easy way for many to understand then compare them in a competitive setting..

They could have showed Bolts/Bucs, Broncos/Car, Giants/Bengals, Bills/Pats, or even the Titans/Phins, which all would make more sense than Jets/Seahawks..

All the others listed are divisional games, logistically close to the South, or have NFC South teams playing in them..

DaveWadding

Does CBS only play one game each week for you? What about FOX... just the Saints or another game also

Kris P Lettus
11-11-2012, 04:49 PM
No

Each network rotates the double header each week.. This week it is FOX, meaning they showed the Saints game (obv) and now the Cowboys/Eagles since it's a divisional game and there are a fair amount of Cowboys fans here.. I'm sure CBS had the rights to some of those other games, they just decided to show one that no one here care about in the late slot.. They could have just as easily showed one of the other AFC games in the early spot..

Besides the Saints game, they generally show an NFC South game or a game involving the Mannings..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFL_on_television#No_opposing_games

No opposing games

Another policy to encourage sellouts, is that no other NFL game can air opposite the local club's broadcast on the primary market's affiliate due to NFL rules.

If a local club's broadcast is at home in the early game of a doubleheader, the other network (which shows the single game) may only show a game during the late time slot.
If a local club's broadcast is at home in the late game of a doubleheader, the other network (which shows the single game) may only show a game during the early time slot.
If a local club is playing at home, and the broadcast is shown by the single game network, the other network (which shows the doubleheader) may only air one game in that market; either early or late (the slot which the local club is not playing).
If a local club is playing away, and the broadcast is shown by the single game network, the other network (which shows the doubleheader) may air both of their games.

If a local club is playing on the road on the doubleheader network, the other network can air its single game in the same timeslot opposite the local club's game. However, most affiliates opt against it because such an action usually ensures low ratings. The "no opposing game" policy is a key reason why single game fixtures on the east coast are occasionally scheduled for the late time slot.
This rule does not apply in Week 1 when the US Open Tennis Championships Men's Final (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/US_Open_%28tennis%29) is on CBS at 4:30 pm: CBS affiliates may broadcast games opposite a team that has a home game on Fox at the same time in Week 1.
Each TV market, including one hosting a game that is not sold out, is assured of at least one televised game in the early and late time slots, one game on each network, but no network doubleheader in the home market of a game that is not sold out.
The New York and San Francisco Bay Area media markets typically get fewer doubleheaders than other markets as each has two teams, and one of them is at home virtually every week. The main exception is when one of the teams is idle, has its home game televised on the doubleheader network, or is chosen for a prime time game. This policy affects only the club's primary market, not others with signals that penetrate inside the 75-mile radius. It also does not affect viewers of NFL Sunday Ticket (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFL_Sunday_Ticket) in the primary market; all other games remain available.

Small sample size and everything, but it'll probably be enough to get him hired. Wouldn't be surprised to see him in the NFC East actually with Reid and Garrett likely goners, maybe even Shanahan too.

It's weird because Arians has never been a hot head coaching candidate despite being the coordinator for two Super Bowl winning teams. Maybe he's got the "not head coach material" label or something.
