ESPN is right, once the owners start to get pissed at the replacement refs then a deal is getting done.

NFL can't be happy that not even the networks showing the games are on the side of the replacement refs.

It's kinda funny watching the commentators try to toe the line though. Gruden was really trying to find a "PC" way to say "These refs are fucking horrific".

After winning against RDD least week by .3 points, I am beating a person in my other league by less than a point, and he would have won had Mason Crosby kicked an extra point instead of GB going for 2 on the last TD. Absolutely nuts.

LOL at the replay.

Tate just shoves the guy out of the way and somehow gets credit with the TD. Same ref saw both of them gives the TD signal while the other ref who probably saw the INT/TD catch better called it off.

Jennings mistake was not swatting the ball away instead of trying to catch it.

So not only did I win because the Packers didn't kick an extra point earlier, another two teams in my other league were tied, and the extra point that they had to bring everyone back out for caused the dude with the Packers defense to lose the game.

The Lingerie Football League Announces That It Fired “A Couple Crews Which Apparently Are Now Officiating In The NFL” Because Of Incompetence

http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/commenter/1340000/1342888_32.jpg Jack Dickey

After the Hall of Fame game in August, Mike Pereira let it slip that Craig Ochoa, the referee who worked that game, had been fired from the Lingerie Football League (http://deadspin.com/5932679/the-replacement-ref-who-worked-the-hall-of-fame-game-may-have-been-dismissed-from-the-lingerie-football-league). The Lingerie Football League—which recently uprooted itself from its US host cities to barnstorm in Canada, the United States, and Australia over the next year—didn't respond to our request for comment on Pereira's charge then.

But now they have, and, boy, oh boy, this is great: Because of the LFL's perception it is that much more critical for us to hire officiating crews that are competent, not only for the credibility of our game but to keep our athletes safer. Due to several on-field incompetent officiating we chose to part ways with with a couple crews which apparently are now officiating in the NFL. We have a lot of respect for our officials but we felt the officiating was not in line with our expectations.

We have not made public comment to date because we felt it was not our place to do so. However in light of tonight's event, we felt it was only fair that NFL fans knew the truth as to who are officiating these games.
If there was ever a reason for a public statement from a third-tier football league at 12:28 a.m. on a Tuesday, tonight's debacle (http://deadspin.com/5946101/what-in-the-world-just-happened-at-the-end-of-monday-night-football) was it. And, yup, Roger Goodell, you just got served. By the commissioner of the Lingerie Football League. Eat it.

No it's not. It's a play awarded after scoring. Why should the other team get the chance to score on it, too. What the fuck did they earn?

The second ref who comes in for a ball looks like he's telling the ball boy "Give me a fucking ball now. Don't fuck with me. Not in the fucking mood..." and the ball boy is scared shitless.

If you block a kick or cause a fumble/get an INT on a 2pt play, you should be able to advance the ball. Why is it any different than every other play in football? You'd have to run the mother fucker 100 yds to get 2 points.

Because it's an extra point and not a timed down. It's literally just a gift chance to tack on to the touchdown you scored. It's just... not the other team's play to score on. lol

You can advance it in high school and college, but not the NFL? Makes no sense. It is still a play worth potential points. The defender should be able to take advantage of it just like any other play.

Stats time

Ravens are 3-0 straight up but 1-2 against the spread when favored by 10+ on less than 6 days in between games since 2008, both ATS losses last year including a 20-14 win at home vs cleveland and the 30-27 win vs Arizona which was the largest comeback in ravens history.

They are 13-0 straight up in all games favored by 10+ since 2008, but only 7-6 against the spread, going 6-1 in 2009 and 1-5 since.

I am 92% confident that they will not win by more than a td and I'm going to the game.

Also have the droford jinx factor of the ravens being win less in games ive gone to...

The ravens lost their 2nd pre season game at home in 2008 and they lost last year in Nashville..only 2 games I've been to.

Stats time

Ravens are 3-0 straight up but 1-2 against the spread when favored by 10+ on less than 6 days in between games since 2008, both ATS losses last year including a 20-14 win at home vs cleveland and the 30-27 win vs Arizona which was the largest comeback in ravens history.

They are 13-0 straight up in all games favored by 10+ since 2008, but only 7-6 against the spread, going 6-1 in 2009 and 1-5 since.

lol. Are you just purposely missing the point that at no point was I talking about the game you're trying to have a conversation with me about right now or are you really that awful?

Here's a fun stat that is way more interesting than anything in the posts above that I certainly didn't read: Clay Matthews has 6 solo tackles this year. Clay Matthews also has 6 sacks this year. That's efficiency.

Best was his game against the Bears where he starts counting his sacks in front of Cutler.

Fining Belichick for grabbing an official aggressively seems a bit soft. Should be a zero tolerance mentality on that sort of thing, a sideline ban for a game or two.

Add it to CJ "Thrilla" and Fitzmagic and the Bills have a few enjoyable nicknames.

Still think "The Law Firm" is by far the best name in sports.

Me and some friends used to go to this restaurant to watch all the games at once on Sundays and every time someone would make a play we would say their name with a usually very corny nickname. Ed,

So full disclosure here, I've wasted some of my breathe cursing referees in the NFL for calls that (in my opinion) were incorrect. However, given the absolute mess that I've seen over the past three weeks... I feel like I owe you an apology. I don't think I could appreciate what an amazing job you all do until I saw these guys, who I recognize are doing their best, fail so miserably and so blatantly.

I would say hurry back, but I know its not that simple - labor negotiations never are. Just rest assured NFL fans (outside of Seattle) are looking forward to your return.

GH

PS - your profile at the law firm doesn't mention your killer workout regimen - what's up with that? Has to be an oversight right?

College football does that although not by the schools but by the conferences. Its a lot more noticeable in college basketball though for "biased" calls just like the NBA.
