I'm lucky for A-Rod, every game I've gone to he's hit an ABOMB. Wang gave an awesome performance tonight.

Me too! Where the fuck was that squirell when we needed him earlier this season? Yeah, Awesome performance by Wang too. Hopefully Hughes can keep the ball running. Who's he against? I know I read it somewhere but I forgot.

Yeah, I knew he was going to come in big. I love late season call ups, it at least gives losing teams a chance to look at next year. I called it a few weeks back. If the reds can maybe make a move or 2 and bailey comes up next year, they might contend next year.

Nice, got back from the game a while ago. Definitely was a fun game to be at.
The biggest thing was Hughes pitching decently, he only made that one mistake and it ended up being a home run. And of course A-Rod being A-Rod with a couple bombs was nice.

Papelbon has been a beast lately. Hopefully he keeps up his consistency into the playoffs. I don't want him to have that shoulder problem again, but Tito has been so careful with him all season that it shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, thats why I've been paying attention to the Indians and Angels so much lately. We really need the Indians to finish with the better record of the two so we face them the first round. I think Cleveland is 1 game behind LAA record wise so its really close. The fact that we are 6-0 against the Indians this year makes it that much better.
But hey, I thought we would steamroll through Detroit last year in the playoffs and that obviously didn't happen so who knows how it would play out.

Yeah, but last year was last year. I think this year even if we played Detroit again we'd win. We have a stronger rotation then we did in 2006. Let's face it last year we had Johnson and Wright. This year we have have Pettitate and Hughes. Last year we didn't have a strong guy like Joba pitching in the 8th inning. Who is being compared to Joel Zumaya of the Tigers.
I really want to play the Angels there could always be a chance we could get in to the playoffs by beating them. The Angels always beat us. I want them in the playoffs just to prove to them that we're not gonna get our asses handed to us anymore by them. So I say bring on the fuckin Angels.

Wake has been looking pretty bad in his last two starts, even though he went 20+ shutout innings before that. Yeah, every single time it seems like the Rays lose. I can't believe they're even a MLB team that's how ridiculous it is. It's pretty sad when David Ortiz comes up to bat and you can tell at that very moment he's gonna hit a Home Run in the 9th.
Right now don't worry about catching up to the Sox because if they keep playing the Tampa team . They'll be now way we could beat them.

Really good game by Kennedy, sucks they wasted his start.
7 innings of 1 hit, 1 run ball.
And that only hit and run came on that play that Melky really should have had. Can't complain too much about this game because the only reason Britton was in there was because Farnsworth and Joba weren't able to go today.
Now we go into Boston. Honestly, it feels like we need to sweep to have a chance at the division. All the Sox have to do is win one game and it keeps their lead solid.

Kennedy and Burnett had solid pitching performances. Neither figured in the decision. Burnett only gave up 4 hits. HAd it not been for the solo HR by Damon... well anyway. About time the Jays employed the running game.

We didn't really have a chance at the East even if we did sweep. I would have liked a sweep though not because of the East but because of the lead we have in the Wild card. Basically I don't care about the AL East. Boston won in the 2004 World Series being first in the Wild Card. I am really hoping for it to be Vice Versa this year.

If A-Rod doesn't come to the Red Sox, which he probably won't, I hope we re-sign Lowell. Everyone says that he is one of the best guys to have around the young players because he knows and can pretty much do every thing in the game.

Yeah Lowell is seriously overlooked IMO. Apparently he's expressed interest in coming to the Mets but I doubt that would happen...only place they'd be able to put him is 2B where he's played a whopping 8 games his whole career.
Speaking of which, I wish Mets fans would stop predicting A-Rod will come to Queens. It ain't gonna happen...One of Reyes or Wright would have to go to 2B (no way A-Rod would go there), and Reyes already has proven he sucks at 2B. Wright's said he'd gladly move over and learn the position for A-Rod but it's not gonna happen regardless.

I've been to a lot of baseball stadiums, and while places like Baltimore are way more comfortable/better designed I still love sitting down the first baseline at Fenway. Seeing balls fly up into the Green Monster seats is really something else
I'd love to sit up there, but I think they are 125+ dollars face value alone - The seats I had where like 85 dollars I think...I was looking around on eBay and Stubhub and they where going for like 430+ dollars. So I can only imagine how much the Monster Seats would be going for

Gagne got the 1st 2 outs. Then he walked a batter. Then a single, then another walk. Bases now loaded. Then he walks in a run. Then he gives up a double 2 runs score, and a 3rd is thrown out at the plate. If Zaun hadn't been thrown out at the plate, I think the Jays would still be batting.

yesterday I was musing about how Francona left Gagne in when he should have got Paplebon in the game. Well. The next game he brings in Paps. (i call him that, you know, cause were 'tight') and Paps gives up a grandslammy to the soft hitting Russ Adams. Don't get me wrong Adams is a gritty player and in fact is the one that won the game the other night by doubling in 2 go ahead runners VS Gagne, but Paps should have been able to get him out...
Hey Yankee fans, don't get too cocky. The Jays are coming to town and we are planning on giving you what the RedSox just got.

Wow unbelievable, after having like the one of best bullpens for the entire season the Red Sox relievers are completely tanking it. Well the whole team is pretty much tanking it. Can't believe the Yankees are only 1 game back right now.
It's kinda pissing me off though how everyone is saying how the Gagne trade was a bad move - it really wasn't. Nobody could have predicted this breakdown for Gagne, and what they gave up wasn't really all that bad. A pitcher with a history of elbow problems who was at his highest value ever and a outfielder who had no shot of ever playing in the majors for the Red Sox. I really thought Okajima, Gagne and Papelbon would be lights out.
Still though the Yankees are one game out so it's not like its over yet, however the way Red Sox have been playing is pretty disappointing.

yesterday I was musing about how Francona left Gagne in when he should have got Paplebon in the game.
It was Gange's "last chance" to prove himself, at least that's what they got out of Francona w/o him saying the exact words... I don't expect to see him on the post season roster.
That being said, it's pretty clear here Francona and cares little about the division and views the Wildcard or Division as the same thing.
He's resting everyone who needs it, getting the at-bats for whoever needs them, letting pitchers try prove themselves (Gange) and other role players to earn their post-season roster spot.
and yes.... IT DRIVES ME COMPLETELY NUTS!
I want the Division I want a World Series win "Old School" by winning a division, not a Wild Card!

It looks like we might get the Angels. Either way it's not gonna be easy. Every fan wanted Detroit to face the Yankees last year and look where that got us. Like I've said I'd rather play the Angels that way we have a possibility of getting some revenge. Trust me Stima you're not the only one. I saw that Gagne was going to the Red Sox and I seriously thought "UH oh Gagne, Okajima, and Papelbon are gonna be lights out"No one had any idea that Okajima would die down and Gagne would as well. The good thing for all Boston fans is that Gagne will probably want to be a closer next year. So Gagne would probably be another team's problem next year.

"Although I am disappointed, I've always said baseball is a business - and I respect their decision," Bonds said on his Web site. "However, I am saddened and upset that I was not given an earlier opportunity to properly say goodbye."
