According to ESPN, Rams now own current loosing streak at 13 straight losses.

6 more in a row ties the Lions for 2nd worst streak of all time while 7 more in a row makes them own 2nd worst streak of all time (Bucs #1 at 26 Ls in a row).

I think the Browns may be the worst team in the NFL at the moment

It's a toss up between the Browns and the Rams really.

Also, I was totally on board with the people who said that Favre was completely the wrong QB for Minnesota. He's actually showing that he may be the perfect QB for the system. Just letting AP and the D win games and controlling the ball the first two weeks would have been good enough. It's rare that a QB is as good as he has been at that for the first two weeks AND is capable of winning it on his own but today when Peterson and the D stumbled, he leads them down with no time outs and makes a PERFECT throw to win the game. The man is ridiculous.

Indy comes in giving up 176 rushing yards a game and Arizona calls 12 runs and 58 passes. Run the fucking ball, dumbasses.

Arizona hasn't been a rushing style team in years. No real reason why since they've had decent to good RBs last few years.

The real key is going to be later in the season if he gets hurt or when the wear and tear of a season occurs. Last year with the great Jets D and decent O, Farve fell apart last 4-5 games of the year. Although Minnesota should be different since the coach is familiar with Farve and unlike the Jets, Minnesota plays in a dome for most cold weather games.

So, do Broncos fans still hate Josh McDaniels and think he sucks?

The Pats OL looked great yesterday... part of that of course being the ATL DL is horrible... but the Pats OL did play better.

Brady is starting to get some rythm back, now he just needs someone who can hold onto the ball when thrown to them...

Lots of possible big injuries yesterday.

Gore, Wiflrok, Freeney...

Yeah, what the fuck. McDaniels was supposed to lead the team to an awful season and then be fired.

That defense is playing fucking incredible. Granted the only real challenge they've had was Cincy but they've been lights out, regardless. Kinda makes you wonder what they would do this season with Cutler.

Yeah even though Jerry is a rookie he was still giving us a better look than his replacements. Jamaal Anderson is terrible and everybody knows it, but Biermann and Babineaux are awesome in tandem with Abraham. Our defense needs extensive work. Brent Grimes (5'8") was covering Moss (6'4") on way too many plays.

The defense overachieved in the first game, and has played about how I expected them to since. Keep the Falcons offense off the field, and you'll win the game. Matt Ryan looked way better than Brady the entire game though. Made some beautiful passes and had a ton of passes dropped by Roddy White circa 2007.

But why the hell did the Falcons not blitz at all? Bringing four against the Pats is just stupid if you don't have the personnel to do so (a la NYG).

yeah, I was surprised they didn't blitz more. the DL of ATL was getting blown off the ball on running plays and everyone knows the Pats love to run the screen... seemed ATL couldn't handle it... think you'd prepare for that a little more.

I don't think Ryan looked "way better" then Brady all game. I think both looked good but not great, Brady had his best game so far, not as many bad timing plays and over/under throws... most of his problems were drops or guys not finishing routes. (Galloway, Aiken, Edelman) christ, they're still saying Galloway doesn't know the plays... and WTF with that out of bounds in the end zone... not knowing plays is one thing, but had the endzone changed size recently?

I'm a big Ryan fan, I think he's going to be an NFL star down the road as long as they can keep a decent offense around him.

Ugly win but glad to see PT Cruiser rush for 120+.. With him and Mike Bell, we actually have an awesome running game..

Oh, and Hanso, this is not the same team as last year.. 3 new DB's in Malcolm Jenkins (who is awesome), Greer, and Darren Sharper.. Also, we got Tracy Porter back who was having an awesome season last year until he broke his wrist in like week 3 last year..

Kinda worried about the Jets D.. Those crazy defensive alignments like 2 down limemen, 1 LB, and 8 DB's are fucking nuts.. Hopefully with Bell coming back and PT Cruiser looking good, our run game can counter some of those blitz packages that the Rexacutions come with..

I knew he was gonna suck, he wasn't a NFL QB at all in college. He wasn't even that highly rated either until he tore up a weak Notre Dame secondary in his last start at LSU in a bowl game.

To me, some guys just look like NFL QBs and others don't. I am usually good with that when it comes to QBs - looking at running backs though I have had a time projecting. Few examples, I thought Steve Slaton was gonna be AWFUL in the NFL but he's done pretty good. I thought Reggie Bush was gonna be SICK even though he didn't really run between the tackles much in college - guess I should have seen that 1 coming. I also didn't think Darren McFadden was ever gonna be that special but I guess the jury still is out on that.

Well, considering Russell can throw a football like 70 yards from his knees, the athleticism is there, just not the smarts..

Well, considering Russell can throw a football like 70 yards from his knees, the athleticism is there, just not the smarts..
It's more than just being able to the throw the ball far too though. Lots of guys can chuck the ball but things like being able to put the right touch on it, being able to squeeze it between tight coverage, footwork, stepping up in the pocket etc. is all huge too. Plus he obviously seems pretty dumb since I heard they are still dialing back the playbook for him which is ridiculous. All you do is play football, how do you not know the playbook?

Nervous Ferret

h8 the big arm argument for QBs. Kyle Boller could throw the ball from the 50 yard line through the goal posts FROM HIS KNEES. That is incredible and all, but I would take Chad Pennington over that every time

It's like the same thing with the work out warrior, why the fuck were Gholston and Vernon Davis first round picks? Neither guy warranted it during their play in college (Gholston got 2/3 of his total sacks during his senior year in 2 games) but they put got picked so high because of their work out numbers.

Felix Jones needs to stay healthy. This is ridiculous. He's gonna miss next weeks game. Hopefully Barber is back but Jones is the playmaker.

If he could stay healthy, he'd be the best back in the league. The man just seems to break through nearly every time he touches the ball. 7.6 yds per carry in his college career, 8.9 yds per carry last year including a kick return TD before getting hurt and 10.1 yds per carry this season. Those are just disgusting averages.

The big arm argument has always come up for me with Stafford. Sure he played in a pro-style offense in college and has a rocket arm, but he should have never been a #1 pick. His athleticism will only get him so far in the NFL. He has to pick up the other stuff, or he will suffer into mediocrity.

One guy who has surprised me has been Matt Lienart, I thought for sure he was gonna be a good NFL QB after watching him play in college. I really don't understand how he's not, I mean I know he had great talent with him there at USC but still. Kinda figured he'd be doing what Sanchez is doing now.

I really don't think Wisenhunt likes him for some reason though, I wouldn't be surprised to see him go else where and potentially be decent.

Anderson had his one good season. Even then, I don't think it was as monster as people seem to think. And he didn't get injured last year, he was benched because he began sucking. Then Quinn came in and looked decent in a couple games, then HE got injured for the year giving Anderson the job back.

There is an investment in Quinn. I really think he's the better QB without a doubt. He was a first round pick for a reason and he's done nothing to prove himself to be a bust. He's stuck in a HORRIFIC offense. I thought he looked fantastic last year against Denver too. Quinn is not the problem as was shown by Anderson coming in and throwing 3 terrible look INTs last week. Quinn is the best QB on that team. He should be starting. Mangini is a fool.

I was actually kind of upset that the Ravens just waived Anderson. I know it wasn't a major move in 2005, but he started playing well in 2007 with Cleveland which was also coincidentally when McNair ended up hurt and Boller was sucking hard. I think you're confused or something.

Anderson proved he can get it done in 2006 when he threw for close to 4,000 yards and almost 30 TDs. When has Brady Quinn ever done anything remotely close to something in just one game that would indicate he has that kind of ability? In 7 games he hasn't even thrown for 1,000 yards and only has 3 TDs.

The fact is that neither is going to have much success with the WR talent that they have. Outside of Edwards, who would be at best a #2 on about 75% of the rest of the NFL's depth charts, they dont have much in the way of WR talent. Furrey is a reject from the Lions, Cribbs has a lot of speed but is better suited at kickoff returning, and their 2nd best receiver is probably their TE Robert Royal. And we can't forget Stallworth getting in trouble and suspended as well..Combine this with the fact that Jamal Lewis is toast and they're going with 2 RB's who 99% of NFL fans probably couldnt even name (the 1% is probably hardcore fantasy football players, and thats a stretch because neither is even worth owning) and you can see why they haven't scored an offensive TD in the equivalent of half a season (8 weeks).

Last year, Anderson was benched because he couldn't get the job done. Not because he was injured... he was benched because he was sucking. Brady Quinn played very well that preseason and then came in after Anderson's benching and performed well and only lost because the defense crumbled.

Quinn only lost the job because he got injured. He was drafted as the future of the team and has done NOTHING to show that he can't get the job done.

Again, Anderson had ONE good season in which Quinn never got the chance to play. Last year Anderson was benched and Quinn came in and showed that he can outperform Anderson before going down to injury. Quinn won the starting job in the preseason by outperforming Anderson (Everyone kinda knew it was his job all preseason long.) This year, Quinn struggled. The entire offense struggled. And last week against the Ravens, Quinn... again... as bad as he and the entire offense may have looked all game OUTPERFORMED DEREK ANDERSON who threw three AWFUL looking picks. There is no confusion in any of that. My point stands.

Supreme Olajuwon

It's probably better that Quinn isn't playing. In that offense all he's going to do is pick up a bunch of bad habits trying to force throws to guys who can't get open.

In anticipation of the game on Sunday, Im gonna watch the reairing of the Patriots/Ravens game from 2007 on NFL Network where the Ravens came up about 45 seconds short of putting an end to the Pats undefeated season.

I vaguely remember the 07 game, but I think it was full of horrible calls on the Ravens which was odd because it was in Baltimore, usually home team gets the calls but I guess when its the undefeated destiny team you're playing..

I'm really hoping that they can bring a similar defense to NE on Sunday, as the 3 sacks they got in 2007 was the most sacks NE allowed in a game that year and it was the closest they came to losing, and obviously the Jets showed that getting to Brady is a key to beating them this year.

Best part of that game was how bad the coaching was late in the game for the Ravens. Ravens basically got the 4th down play by the Patriots destroyed but its ruled as a no play since Ravens D coach calls a timeout as Brady hikes the ball. The face of the coach was one of those "oh shit what did i do" occurring the same time as the defense stopped the play cold.

That one mistake ruined the mentality of the Defense since that's when the penalties and arguing occurred after.

Rex "Im a defensive genius" Ryan called the time out, and Bart "dont call me boy" Scott got the 2 unsportsmanlike penalties.

The worst thing was I totally forgot that boller completed the hail mary pass at the end of the game...another yard and a half and that would have been EPIC.

Double thank goodness our next two games are in Detroit and then home vs. Clevland. We SHOULD be able to go into our bye week 4-2 and then hopefully get Polamalu back in time for the Broncos.

Yeah, while Jay's big arm would be nice from time to time, I like not holding my breath every time a pass is thrown

You know, I hate Josh McDaniels. He's all stoked that he's 4-0. He runs the majority of the offense, right? They struggle to get fucking first downs. Marshall made that play in the end all by himself. His defense is bailing him out, and he looks like a good coach. He's not. Fuck Josh McDaniels. He's still the head coach, it's not like he has no hand in all other aspects of the game. He suspended Brandon Marshall and now he's out making plays like he did on Sunday. So you are saying the fact that the Broncos are 4-0 right now has nothing to do with Josh McDaniels or any of the changes he made because he calls the plays on offense? I really don't understand how you constantly say so much dumb shit about sports when you are obviously a big fan.

I was glad to see the golden boy Mark Sanchez play like shit on Sunday. Saints D looked real good.

One more thing, has anyone ever told Tony Romo that Champ Bailey is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL? Stop throwing at guys that Champ Bailey is covering - especially on 3rd and 4th and goal with under a minute left in the game

You know in a way it's kind of genius. No one expects a qb to throw at a #3 receiver being covered by one of the best db's in the sport with a game on the line.

That wasn't as glaringly dumb as Jason Witten, the most reliable receiver on the team, being kept back to block on both downs. SNEAKY, SNEAKY! lol

Is Crabtree breaking down because the 49ers are 3-1? Id tell him to go pound sand some more if I were the 49ers.

Apparently Romo didn't know it was 4th down. After the last incomplete pass on 4th, he could be seen hurrying his linemen to get up and when they weren't reacting he held 3 fingers up to the ref, got mad and walked off the field. He pretty much forgot he had spiked the ball a few plays earlier

Really though, I am just happy we have a stout D, with alot of depth at each position, and a decent running game.. That means, as the last two weeks have proven, that Brees doesn't have to throw for 350 yards, and 4 TD's for us to win.. We have one of the most well rounded teams in the NFL..

Look out G-Men.. By the time we play y'all Bell will be back as will Bushrod so we'll have more depth on the O-Line..

Also, I find it awesome ALOT of people were saying Darren "I am always" Sharper was "over the hill" and "done" when we signed him this offseason..

Defensive player of the month, IMO..

OssMan
10-06-2009, 06:06 PM
Yeah that dude is definitely the defensive player of the month after playing one game in October. This Saints team reminds me of the one that made the playoffs a few years ago but then lost and then never looked good at all until now.

Kris P Lettus

I meant for the four weeks of the season.. This Saints team is no where near the '06 team.. We actually have a good D and we are like 60-40 run-pass where as in previous years, it was more like 70-30 pass-run..

Pay attention to what is going on around you before making retarded statements..

Giants running game is going to beast that defense. The Giants air attack will also probably give you a little fit. I do fear Sharper though, when he was on the Vikings he single handedly beat the Giants one year. I'm fairly confident the Giants could compete in a shootout too, not something I would have thought at the beginning of the year.

I hope both teams are fairly healthy going in. I don't want to see any tainted victory because of some key guy missing. This game could very well play out to be a tiebreaker for the #1 seed if both teams roll.

What, shut the fuck up. You are hailing this team as the best team of all time and that your quarterback is Jesus wearing a Saints uniform. How did I even make a "retarded statement," all I said was that this year's team reminded me of another one

Kris P Lettus
10-06-2009, 07:03 PM
Which was a retarded statement due to the fact that in '06 our defense was ranked in the upper teens, not in the top ten, and the fact that we are now a run first/pass second offense, which is a complete 180 from what that team you are comparing them to was..
