These guys are my team and so I'll have a bias obviously. These guys are an amazing home team for whatever reason. They really seem to feed off on the home crowd. IF these guys manage to make the playoffs and get in atleast one home again, I think they could get a playoff win.......which could possibly turn into something slightly more based on misguided confidence.

The Seattle Seahawks have a top tier defense and a great running game. They also have a quarterback that does not make stupid mistakes. As the pundits like to say 'A defense and running game can travel anywhere'. They could win a wild card at home, and totally come to Atlanta and beat the shit out of the Falcons.

Before he got that 'big win in Febuary', there were three other very big playoff LOSSES in Late January.

Tebow didn't do that. The Broncos defense bailed his ass out and enabled him to get the ball late and he managed to put together timely drives and not fuck things up completely like he did for the first 58 minutes.

I value a QB who can help and at times carry his team to wins. Tebow was fucking abysmal and managed to get some wins late to win his division with an 8-8 record. Something Manning did a shitload of times. And I'm pretty sure he was regularly winning 12+ games in doing so. With a shitty defense for most of that time. Putting up record breaking numbers. While Tebow was struggling to put up over 100 yards and hit 50% of his passes. Are you really trying to act like Tebow with is more of a winner and has proven more than Peyton fucking Manning? Really?
Peyton Manning won his only superbowl when the colts defense caught fire and channeled the 85 Chicago Bears. During that game, he was as pedestrian as ever, completing only one pass of consequence, the bomb to Reggie Wayne, while he completed over 10 passes to Joseph Addai, who also was part of a running back tandem that touched the ball 40 fucking times. Add the fact that Bob Sanders played out of his mind during that playoff run. and Freeny & Co lost his mind in the Superbowl...Hey I can't take the fact that he won one title from him. But, you can't deny that his SB win over the Bears featured one of the safest game plans of his career as well. Oddly enough, Tebows PLAYOFF winning percentage is better at .500 than Manning's, and they both have the same amount of game winning PLAYOFF Drives under their belt. I don't think Tim Tebow is the best Quarterback ever, but I do think that Peyton Manning is a sham of a quarterback. He's literally the opposite of Tebow, he'll throw the ball around amassing statistics and wowing the masses for 58 minutes...but when the chips are down you can count on a game clinching Interception IN THE PLAYOFFS.
Again, I'm not fooled by the fools gold of the regular season. I could care less about how he routinely goes 10-0 13-0 when his lasting memories are of him dejected, watching some cornerback shuffle into the endzone after picking him off to end his season. Ryan Clark, Ty Law (a million times) that guy from Nawlins...
The guy can't even push Mark Sanchez out of a job for fuck's sake!
Tebow earned a shot at being quarterback for the broncos by resurrecting what was sure to be a sorry assed season last year and throwing for 300 plus yards and a game winning touchdown against the Steelers. Honestly though, this is more of an indictment against Manning than a 'vote of confidence' for Tebow. Peyton Manning's numerous clutch failures in college and the NFL should have been evidence that this is NOT the guy to waste two years around. hell the guy can't even properly groom a replacement. Is Curtis Painter doing anything right now? How do you think Peyton will do grooming his replacement in Denver? I don't see another Andrew Luck coming to bail a franchise out of the black hole that is Manning.
Oh and Tebow didn't go 7-2 last year in the regular season. He went 6-4.
This is true. I couldn't remember that reccord at the moment of the post. Thanks for the factual update. :y:

Guys, we've been down this road before with Krimzon. He isn't going to hear the arguments.
I mean I have heard the arguments from a multitude of places. Tell me I'm wrong. The difference of opinion lies solely on what you value in a Quarterback. For my money I would take Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Eli Manning, Aaron Rodgers, and*can't believe I'm admitting this* Ben Roethlisberger, before I even consider thinking taking Peyton Manning. Even then I'm still passing on Manning because his record shows that he cannot win high pressure, high stake games.
Now if I need to build a team that only plays from August to The middle of December....Peyton is first on my list.
For the record, Peyton Manning isn't the only one on this shit list...He has some celebrated company. Michael Vick, Brett Favre, Matt Ryan, Phillip Rivers all draw my ire in these type of conversations.

He's literally the opposite of Tebow, he'll throw the ball around amassing statistics and wowing the masses for 58 minutes...but when the chips are down you can count on a game clinching Interception IN THE PLAYOFFS.
... You're praising a guy's winning percentage (.500) who has TWO playoff games, one of which he was bent over and raped in to a guy who has NINETEEN playoff games under his belt and saying "LOOK WHO HAS THE BETTER PLAYOFF WINNING PERCENTAGE!" lol. Come on.
And it's a shame Manning only has one game winning playoff drive under his belt, the same as Tebow. That one game winning drive happened to be one of the biggest comebacks in playoff history. And he kinda crushes Tebow in the "blowing out teams in the playoffs and eliminating any need to have to come back" department (Sorry Broncos fans).
Oh and let's also ignore the fact that Tebow sucked ass against Buffalo and Kansas City in the final two weeks of the season last year to back his team to an 8-8 record and allow other teams to secure their playoff spot. CLUTCH.

I missed a bit of the game when this Jim Schwartz nonsense happened but am currently catching up. So... the play was called a TD... runner was down... it was automatically reviewed since it was a TD... but Jim Schwartz threw the flag and got some kind of a delay of game penalty or something for it and that meant they couldn't challenge the play for some reason?

It's very strange to me that NFL coaches seem to recognize the mental effect of the game when it comes to freezing a kicker but many don't seem to recognize the mental effect that being down by multiple scores has.
There's a mental state your offense is in when you're down where your guys are subconsciously playing to their absolute peak. Often times teams will struggle until they're down and they're either in a "Fuck it, we're losing" mode or "Fuck, we REALLY need to score" mode. It seems like you can find a way to get your team to recognize that mental state and adopt it earlier in the game.
Emperor Smeat
11-22-2012, 04:23 PM
I think it has to do more with your offense needs to be a high tempo/paced offense for that to work more than once. Very few teams are that type so it ends up more of them being in a rushed and unorganized state than something routine.
#1-norm-fan

I noticed it mostly with Dallas. It's a big reason I hate Jason Garrett. When Dallas was down 23 against the Giants, they played awful. Then they went no huddle and got rhythm and scored 24 straight... then went right back to a methodical pace and lost the game.
That situation obviously has something to do with the pass rush being stalled because of tired defensive players and the inability to organize the defense on a play by play basis but it's a common thing for most teams to not play to their full potential until they are in a situation where the players themselves and the way the offense is being run suddenly becomes just right. I think you can sit and watch film and figure out exactly what is different in those situations and fix it.

He should have really taken the Jags job and Tebow Time never worked last season against the Pats (0-2 vs Pats last season).
Yeah, you're right. Wouldn't wanna put them in position to get blown out or anything...

I think the Pats might be about to break the record the Eagles set against the Redskins a couple years ago for the biggest halftime lead by a visiting team ever,

Was entertained when Welker scored.
Was giggling when Vereen scored.
Was laughing my ass off when Sanchez fumbled.
Was jumping up screaming when McKnight fumbled.
And I don't even have a rooting interest in this game.
That had to be one of the most entertaining quarters in NFL history.

At this point how do you not put Tebow in just to see what happens? I mean even if you make up some bullshit excuse like you're resting your starter in a blowout, you gotta at least let him go out there. You're not gonna win this game regardless. Have some fun! Experiment! Kiss a guy! See what happens!

ugh Rex you're killing me
How is Tim Tebow not in this game right now?
I would fire Rex Ryan right after the game, just for not coming out with Tebow. At this point, he's just not doing it because he doesnt want other people to be proven wrong. Which really makes no sense.

The Jets are saying Tebow has a rib injury.
I call bullshit on that. If he was hurt enough where he couldn't play at all, they would have activated Greg McElroy.

Would be pretty hilarious if Ryan Mallet gets in this game but Tebow doesn't.
