Well Jerry Jones IS the guy who took a risk with TO, one of the biggest team distractions ever. That hasn't worked out badly at all.
You never know.
He's a fantastic player, but why would you want the distraction?
With the exception of Sunday afternoons in the Fall, I could care less about what these guys are doing in their spare time.

Pacman would probably end up matched on TO in training. That'd work out well :$
But yeah, he'll more than likely be in jail within a year.

If that Pats go undefeated, then the NFL needs to make New England at Indy the opening game next year.
Yeah cause the defending super bowl champ always opens on the road...
Of course the Super Bowl winner opens at home.
I'd assume it would be Indy (since NE went to Indy this year, I'd assume Indy comes here next year).
The other possible I'm not sure what NFC division the Pats play next year but I could see them hosting Greenbay.
of course this is only if they beat the Giants, I think they will, but time will tell.

Then I'd expect it to be Pats hosting Colts if the Pats win it all.
I know one thought was the Colts didn't like playing the Pats game #1 because if they lose it could decide home field for the playoffs, the flip side is... it's better for a dome team to play in NE in Sept then nov/dec due to weather.
Anyway, Colts are done... bring on the Giants...
Who the hell would have thought Kelly Washington would still be on the team never mind a Special Team star making huge plays.

I mean against an inexperienced team like the Packers, the Giants defense looked great but thats just not going to happen against New England on the biggest stage there is. My only concern at this point is how well Eli will play. Will he keep up the outstanding game management or crumble like bleu cheese?

:| Are you serious?
The Giants took it to the Pats Week 17 and the Pats have yet to experience Ahmad Bradshaw cause he didn't play that game. There's absolutely no reason to think the Pats have it locked up, especially given how they played today against a banged up Chargers team while the Giants played great against the Pack.
Seriously psyched, no matter what happens, this has been an amazing season. And there's no doubt in my mind that this is gonna be the best Super Bowl in years.

Who the hell is bandwagoning? Anyone in here singing praises for 'em has always been doing that on here.
Anyways, bring on the fucking Pats man. Should be a hell of a game. We played them tough in week 17, and it shouldn't be any different. That game for us, even though it was a loss, was such an emotional lift its not even funny. That game righted the ship for the New York Giants.
VonErichLives
01-21-2008, 07:55 AM
if the Giants WR's caught 1/2 the balls they dropped that hit them in the hands the game never would have made OT.
The Giants played a great game.
That being said, w/ 2 weeks to focus on the Giants and the game being played in perfect weather (dome), I don't see how the Giants find a way to beat the Pats...
but nothing would suprise me.
Someone compared this to 1986, the Giants are the under-dog pats winning all 3 on the road only to get spanked by the Bears in the super bowl.
the Giants remind me of the 1985/86 Pats... good defense, solid running game... of course I'd take Eli over the QB's the Pats had then.
ok, time for 2 weeks of hype...
So, who's going to say somethig stupid or get pissed off by the press?
I think both teams are pretty well coached at being quiet...
I'll say it's Harrison who gets pissed off by the Press and slips...
Was coughlin the coach in Jax when they lost to the pats in 1996 AFC Championship?

Vel and RP, I thought the superbowl winner played the other championship loser at home and vice versa..
Like, if the Pats win, they'll play Greenbay in Foxboro while the Chargers will have to open the season at the Giants..
I thought that's how it worked..
Also, the Superbowl will not be a blowout.. As an analyst said yesterday about the Chargers, if they can get TDs in the redzone and not settle for FGs, any team has a shot at beating the Pats.. The Chargers got 3 FGs in the redzone and lost.. If those three had been TDs, it would've been 24-21 Chargers..
Just saying..

Nah, the way the NFL's scheduling is, you already know at least 14 games before the schedules are even announced.
You play:
-6 games against the teams in your division
-4 games against a division from the other conference, it rotates (ie: the Giants played the AFC North in 2004 so they'll meet again in 2008 with the home/away alignments opposite of what it was 4 years ago)
-4 games against one of the other 3 divisions in your conference, this also rotates (Giants played the NFC West teams in 2005, gonna happen again).
The other 2 games are the only ones decided by the previous year's standings...you basically play two other teams in your conference with similar records or something, not sure how that works exactly.

yeah, the NFL loves that stuff if the schedule works... such as when Indy or Pittsburg or Oakland would open in NE after the super bowl win.
The Pats go to Indy again in 08 and 09 (Indy came here 04-05-06, so it looks like a 3 year trade off).
But, I'm not going to worry about opening day...

There has been a few teams that played y'all close this year and if those FGs had been TDs, there would have been a different outcome.. Eli can not turn the ball over and the Giants D needs some picks..

Giants have chance to tilt Boston/NY rivalry
By Dan Wetzel, Yahoo! Sports
January 21, 2008
Oct. 20, 2004, was a cold, dark night in the South Bronx even before Johnny Damon started hitting home runs and changing everything. The Boston Red Sox would defeat the New York Yankees that night 10-3, marking one of the most painful losses in the long sports history of New York City.
It wasn't just to whom New York lost (the mouthy little brother up the road) and it wasn't just how they lost (in a spectacular collapse that saw them become the first baseball team to ever blow a 3-0 postseason series lead).
It was the sea change the event turned out to represent.
Boston was suddenly sporting gold, cemented as a modern-day title town. The Red Sox were now keeping up with the suddenly dynastic New England Patriots in ringing up championships. New York, the city that forever had kicked sand in the face of Bostonians, was a fading superpower struggling to find any serious success.
Since 2001, Boston's three major professional sports teams (NFL, MLB, NBA) have won five championships, with the Patriots locked in on another and the basketball Celtics a rebuilt contender again.
Meanwhile, the New York metro region, despite having more than twice the number of franchises (six), has done nothing but lose – everything from regular season games to playoff series to sexual harassment lawsuits.
Ultimately, just a couple hundred miles of mostly Connecticut speed traps away, Boston has become a cottage industry to remind New Yorkers of this reversal of fortunes.
But there is a simple way for New York to return the favor, perhaps return to the old days and certainly have something just as vicious and painful to hang over every Bostonian's head as that historic baseball comeback in the fall of 2004.
The Giants just have to ruin the Patriots' perfect season in the Super Bowl on Feb. 3.
New York is everyone's rival in virtually every way (sporting or not). Boston, its colonial neighbor in the Northeast, is no different. But there are significant ties that bind.
New York kids go to Boston for college, Boston kids go to New York for jobs (and vice versa). There are mixed marriages, family feuds and forever bragging rights over rankings ranging from designated hitters to hospitals.
There is no lack of hubris, either. New York likes to refer to itself as the "Capital of the World." Boston goes one better as "The Hub of the Universe."
In sports, with the exception of the mighty Boston Celtics, the winners have mostly resided in Gotham. At least until this decade, until, truly, that night in the Bronx the Red Sox finished off the Yankees.
Since then, the two cities haven't had a direct competition as meaningful as the upcoming Super Bowl.
A return playoff engagement between the Yankees (or the Mets) and the Red Sox has not emerged. In basketball, the Celtics are back, and the Knicks won't be as long as James Dolan runs the organization.
The Patriots did beat the New York Jets in the playoffs last year – part of a heated rivalry between New England coach Bill Belichick and his former assistant, Jets coach Eric Mangini. That battle grew even more intense when New England was caught illegally filming the Jets' sideline during an opening week game and believed the Jets snitched them out to NFL security about the crime.
But as the Jets sunk back into losing play, that rivalry has faded into the kind of relationship that for so long characterized the Yankees and Red Sox – that of hammer and nail. New England has kept churning (even completing its 16-0 regular season in a come-from-behind victory over the Giants, 38-35) and stands one victory away from the first undefeated NFL season in 35 years and the first 19-0 one ever.
Which is why this isn't just a Super Bowl clash but something bigger. Fair or not, New England's quest for perfection changes the stakes for this game. The Patriots either win and enjoy immortality or lose and suffer infamy.
This is either the crowning of arguably the greatest team in league history or the springing of arguably its greatest upset.
New England is now the old Yankees, an immoveable juggernaut that expects dominance and demands championships. The Giants are the new Red Sox, a loose franchise of why-not dreamers that needed three road victories just to reach the Super Bowl.
But the Giants, like the Red Sox when they trailed 3-0, have nothing to lose now. They're two-touchdown underdogs with a puncher's chance and a world of gumption.
For Boston, it seems history goes through New York, and for New York, glory goes through New England. Just as it always has, just as it always will.

So, Brady has a walking cast and is reported to have a high ankle sprain...
TMZ actually broke the story cause someone taped him limping into his GF (Gizel) apartment in NY on Monday w/ the cast on.
Later that night he didn't have it on and had on cowboy boots when he went to dinner.
I figure if it was very serious he wouldn't be all over the place so I'm not worried..

Are you a Vikings or Cowboys fan or what, like you were always blowing Daunte Culpepper and then you stopped posting and now you are all over Tony Romo
I am a Vikings fan. Simple as that really.
I'm also a big fan of Manning (the older one) but now that he's won his superbowl ring, I don't really care about the Colts as much tbh, just wanted to see him win it rather than the team, although I do like a few of their players. I also like the Cowboys, but that's mostly DrA's fault. Also probably because I hate the other 3 NFC East teams because they're all gay like you.
Tony Romo is just a random cult hero of mine, like T.O. And Randy Moss. Although I am a genuine huge fan of Moss because he is the man. Just not when he played for the Raiders. There are quite a few players I am a big fan of, I can't be bothered thinking of any more. Except Bob Sanders.
Daunte Culpepper can die of the AIDS he most likely caught during that boat party scandal, btw.

Seymore and that player had some bad blood going back to last season and before the game they were at mid-field going back and forth, at first people thought they were joking around and when it looked like it was getting out of hand the Pats DL's walked over and broke it up.

They were saying something interesting today about the Giants being better without Tiki and Shokey.. Like, Eli is much better being able to pick his shots and not having a "superstar" complaining about getting the ball.. Like y'all TE now, Boss or whatever.. He has been good because he is a role player.. He comes in and blocks when he has too and catches the ball when thrown to him.. And Eli has been real good about spreading the ball around.. That is what the Giants need to win..
Also, with a "superstar" being hurt, everyone else tends to step it up..

Chris Long isn't gonna be there at #7 anyway so the debate is useless
I really can't see the Patriots losing to the Giants, the Patriots offense handled their defense in the week 17 game (I think Brady was pretty close to 400 yards passing plus Welker and Moss both went over 100) so I'm not too worried about that. You might bring up how Randy Moss hasn't really done much in the playoffs but that is because everyone has been focusing on stopping him but that hasn't worked to well as that's just given other guys space to roam. Maroney has been on a tear in the playoffs too, so that's a plus as well on the offense side. I think the 2 defenses the Patriots played in the playoffs where better than the Giants (Well, the Jags def had a better front 7 and the Chargers have better DBs anyway) The only thing is the Giants offense is playing great and they did pretty well against the Patriots D. The Patriots D has been playing pretty great though and I think they will be able to contain the Giants a bit. Somebody mentioned how the Patriots haven't seen Bradshaw yet, which is true, however they did pretty much shut down the best 1-2 combo in the NFL when they held to Fred Taylor to 49 yards and Maurice Jones-Drew to 19 in the divisional round. Obviously its the NFL, the Giants are playing real hot and anything can happen. I mean I am a Patriots so I def remember when they beat the Rams after being 14 point underdogs, so I'm not gonna say "The Giants have 100% NO CHANCE of winning" DaveWadding style, but I am pretty confident. Manning has been playing great though and did light up the Pats with 4 TDs last time, and I am becoming a big fan of Kevin Boss's play. Still though, Pats got a shot at history here

Seymour was trying to get Ellis Hobbs to do 5 push ups, I Hobbs lost a bet to Big Sey over the Georgia/Hawaii game and has to give him 5 push ups whenever he tells him too. They cut away before he ever did it. The NFL Network coverage was kinda shitty from what I saw, they just only focused on the star players, which is expected but I mean they barely showed anything else from anyone not named Brady, Moss or Belichick. Well they did interview Larry Izzo real quick which was pretty hilarious because he had a huge lip in and was sitting into a bottle. Steve Mariucci conducted that interview by himself off the side so that was pretty funny as well, when they where cutting away he yelled "PISAN!" They also kept cutting away randomly to the table where the analysts where talking. I dunno, we've had/will have 2 weeks of that when everything is all said and done. I would have rather just seen all the different shit going on

Just saw some of the Burress interview lol oh man
"I saw they had a pep rally before the came here, I thought they only did that in high school? I left all that back in Virgina Beach"
Then I guess he predicted the score before he left, not really THAT bad but everyone was looking for a lil something something and I think that'll be it.
I wish somebody would have made a Freddy Mitchell type comment though, that was one of the best ever.

I just got on ESPN radio and talked about my prediction for unsung hero of the Superbowl. Pretty sick, didn't think I would get through. I said Justin Tuck.

I thought that was pretty rofl. Heard it on the radio like 15 minutes ago.

LOL, Tom Brady is going to sit in the pocket and have a field day with the Giants weak secondary, he's going to systematically pick them apart. This isn't some second year QB, or a 38 year old QB playing in -20 conditions, this is the best QB of our generation, and arguably ever. The giants might score some points, but there is no way they are stopping the offensive juggernaut that is the New England Patriots.

The fewest points the patriots scored all season was 20 and they had 38 last time against the Giants. What makes him think they are only scoring 17?
