Colts would be such mega faces in a playoff game. Hell, they are right now for Sunday's game. Still think the Pats are gonna dominate though. Didn't Marlin Jackson like limit Steve Smith to 2 catches for 20 yards or some shit last week though? Well, then again, they had Vinny starting. Dunno, it's gonna be an interesting game regardless. I'll go with Pats by 10.

But lets be honest, Smith had Vinny Testeverde and David Carr throwing to him.

There is 0% chance the Colts beat the Pats.

Honestly I could care less if they run up the score or whatever, but don't be surprised of someone goes for loverboys' knees one of these weeks.

What did Jeff Garcia do?

I'd like to see someone pretend their going for a tackle out of bounds and just destroy Bill Bellichick

Why? because he's one of the best two coaches in the NFL right now? or because your Rockies got swept and it's too early to piss on the Celtics?

I can't wait until this Pats/Colts game is over.

Why? So the undefeated Colts or Pats hype can start and then the buildup to the re-match in the playoffs?

Till someone knocks one of these teams off, that's all you're going to hear...

well, that and can the Phins go 0-17.

Not really on tv or anything, because I don't watch it. You and RP and all the other fans should have your own thread because all the Pats/Colts bs dilutes the rest of the discussion. Nothing personal, I understand you wanna talk about your teams but to be honest after so much saturation it drives me nuts.

ok, so we wont talk about the two best teams in the nfl...

so, what would you like us to talk about....

I'm sure Krispy has a few saints you-tube clips he can post.

or the 12yr old can talk about the Falcons and their madden speed ratings..

really, it's the best 2 teams by far in the NFL, one of which is set to crush just about every offensive record (the Pats now have scored more points then like 1/2 the teams did all last year).

Sorry, but as RDD pointed out, that's what's hot, if you don't like it post something else for us to talk about.

The last two pages except for a couple comments about the Broncos are either about the Colts/Pats game or people bitching about how everyone's talking about the Colts/Pats game but don't offer an alternative. So I'll get the ball rolling:

In case you forgot why Jon Kitna is the man, read this

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Detroit Lions quarterback Jon Kitna and his wife dressed up as a naked man and a fast-food drive-through attendant at a teammate's Halloween party, depicting an embarrassing moment for one of the team's assistant coaches.

Now Kitna is getting some flak on local TV and in a newspaper column. Kitna said he was just trying to have fun, but regrets the scrutiny the costumes created.

"If I would've known this, I wouldn't have done it because I didn't want to try to bring attention to it," Kitna said Wednesday while surrounded by reporters and television cameras.

Defensive line coach Joe Cullen pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct and guilty to impaired driving after he was arrested twice last year, once in August 2006 after police said he was driving nude through a Wendy's drive-through lane, and a week later when they said he was driving under the influence of alcohol.

Cullen later was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings twice a week.

"He's done everything they've asked of him," Lions coach Rod Marinelli said before this season started. "And, there's a lot more that he's had to do."

Marinelli said Kitna's costume was a non-issue with the team.

"It's Halloween," Marinelli said. "I'll leave it at that."

Cullen said "no comment" as he walked off the practice field Wednesday, but the team said it asked him if the costume bothered him.

"No, not at all," Cullen said in a statement released by the team. "It's in the past.

Kitna and his wife wore the costumes to a teammate's charity party Monday in suburban Detroit, where the prize for the best outfit was a car.

"All I was trying to do was wear a costume that people would have fun with," Kitna said. "I wasn't trying to demean Joe. If he hadn't come so far, I would not ever have done it. He's very confident of who he is and is very peaceful about what's happened in the past.

"When we talked yesterday, the first question out of his mouth was, 'Did you win?' He seemed to not have a problem with it."

Defensive tackle Cory Redding backed that notion.

"He was still red this morning because Kitna didn't win," Redding said. "It was all fun and games."

Kitna, a born-again Christian who invites teammates to his house to explore their faith, also laughed at the costumes that poked fun at him and his wife.

"Somebody dressed up as me and my wife and came in Bible-thumping," Kitna said with a grin.

ok, having a brain fart... who was the Lions QB, he played like a 1/2 season in miami and did well so the Lions went and got him and he never did anything... Remember he dressed up as the coach, with a pillow under his shirt and a cigar

scott mitchell? not sure if that's it...

Supreme Olajuwon
11-01-2007, 04:20 PM
Yeah it was Mitchell. His 2nd year as the Lions starter he actually threw for 4,300 yards and 32 TDs but he threw 4 picks in their playoff game and got benched and he was garbage from then on.

lol, announced today that Jarvis Moss and Rod Smith are out for the rest of the year.

That means, for the year, Denver has lost Moss, Smith, Nalen, Ekuban, Ben Hamilton, Warrick Holdman, Nate Jackson and Stephen Alexander

Currently injured are Javon Walker who might miss the year, John Lynch, Champ Bailey, DJ Williams, Travis Henry, Antwon Burton and Montrae Holland

I'm just glad the Broncos can even be in a close game this year. First pick in the draft def needs to be DL or S

Marvin Harrison's injury is worse than first speculations. Apparently the injury will cause him intense pain for the rest of the season, possibly his career and surgery has no guarantee of success (which will also follow with 6 months of rehabilitation.) He has been cleared to play Sunday versus the Patriots, but who knows what happens after that.

I was thinking about it a few minutes ago actually. There's just no excuse for your D being so consistently horrible, especially considering it was one of the better last year, and not doing a damn thing about it. The offense even with Walker out is pretty decent, yet they never try it deep to open the run, which has been horrible for the last 3 or 4 games.

But yeah, nothing will ever happen to Shanahan, because he won two Super Bowls. With John Elway. Almost 10 years ago.

No matter who wins or loses, Indianapolis has officially scared the shit out of me today (although it's not like I expected anything different from them).

What I AM surprised about though is the fact that Addai has been the major part of the Colts' offense today, as opposed to Manning. Addai's great, but I never thought he'd have THIS much impact in a game.

Huh? What game were you watching? The same Moss who went accross the middle, up in the air, one hand caught the ball, pulled it in, and came down with it, droped a shoulder, got hit twice and held on?

Yep, looked like he Aligator armed it all day..

Huh? I love how you'll just make things up to try and make the other team look bad after you lost.

Anyway.

What a great game to watch, the officating was horrible, but I'm starting to get used to that in Pats vs. Colts games that one side or the other has a legit complaint about the officials. We'll take the win.

Week off and then all the talk will be "can they got 16-0". Can't look past any teams, but Baltimore in Baltimore and Pitt in NE worry me the most.

but a bye week to relax will be nice. any combo of 3 pats wins or Bills losses gives us the division.

Miami and NYJ are already eliminated from the division... The Pats could clinch the division week 11... has that ever happened before?

1) I assume you have a link to Belicheck saying this and it's not just a "local biased paper" as you would say.

2) Yeah, I've heard a lot this week from the national press about Caldwell and Gafney, and if you go back you hear the same stuff about Pats or Colts when personel change, no one after the game went "we only lost because of Gafney and Caldwell, ya know if we had stallworth and moss". No, but now the next season the personel changes and you always talk about the upgrades. Hence why it's being talked about this week.

lol wow Patriots, are you serious? Try going to Qwest, THAT'S loud.

See, that's not the issue, although the Ref is allowed to issue a delay of game if they feel the crowd is too loud, I haven't seen it happan or discussed in a long time.

The issue here is did the Colts pump in fake Noise to make it louder when the opposing offense had the ball. The Pats aren't the first to accuse them of it.

The Early report is CBS claims the crowd noise "skipping" was a feedback issue, however the NFL is still going to investigate since the Pats aren't the first to complain and there are reports in the stadium it was also heard.

Personally, I don't think the Colts would be that stupid... to do it and think they wouldn't get caught, especially against the Pats.

RP give it a rest. Everyone in the NFL does something to the effect of the same thing the Pats got caught for. Thats like ridiculing a player for steroids, yeah its bad and they got caught, but don't be a fool and pretend like the majority isn't doing it too.

RP
11-05-2007, 07:22 PM
So we should ridicule someone who purchased HGH with his name and address over the internet?

Gonzo
11-05-2007, 07:29 PM
You're missing the point. The point is, the use of steroids to gain a competitive advantage. If one person gets caught its foolish to assume there are others who aren't doing it, especially in the NFL. The Pats getting busted was bad, yes, but you wanna try and say no one else is doing something similiar is just as foolish.

RP
11-05-2007, 07:41 PM
So we should assume everyone in the NFL is guilty of using steroids because a couple people got caught?

Gonzo
11-05-2007, 07:53 PM
Ok, so I shouldn't have said everyone because I don't mean everyone in the literal sense. Are you going to tell me you don't think other players other than the ones caught don't juice? Or that other teams, other than the Patriots don't do things that are technically against the rules, but will be done anyways to gain an advantage? Please.

RP
11-05-2007, 07:57 PM
I think its pretty irresponsible to go around assuming whos on steroids and who isnt on steroids without any proof what so ever. So i dont. I just make fun of the ones who got caught.

Gonzo
11-05-2007, 08:00 PM
I never assumed anyone specifically. I don't ever accuse anyone who there is no proof of either. A lot of people would easily criticise Barry Bonds for example, but there has never been proof that he absolutely has taken steroids. So for the Rodney Harrisons, Shawne Merrimans (two most recognizable names off the top of my head) of the NFL, there are probably numerous other guys who have done it/still do steroids.

VonErichLives
11-05-2007, 08:40 PM
considering every coach who'se on TV (retired) said they did the same type of things the Pats did to "gain an edge", heck jimmy johnson said he used to have his assitants take the trash from the visiting teams booths.

on a side note, the Pats aren't the first team to accuse the colts of artificial noise.

On Rodney Harrison or any other player who buys it on their own credit card, yeah, you gotta laugh at that, I agree. That being said, I at least give him credit for not trying to fight it, he man'ed up and said what he did when they had the info, he could have fought it since their is no test and the league policy isn't buying but using.

Steelers - Antoine Cason

Defense has always been a big emphasis for the Steelers but in recent years the secondary just hasn't played up to expectations, especially the corners, so look for them to make some moves there in the near future. Since signing a new contract Ike Taylor's play has really fallen off and since Ricardo Colclough is now set to become a free agent it would make some sense for them to bring in a corner relatively early on Draft Day and Antoine Cason would be a great fit. Even though he doesn't have elite timed speed Cason is a true playmaker and that is something Mike Tomlin stresses.

Hell yes. Cards could use him too.

Also look for: Louis Holmes, Willie Tuitama (but I think he's staying another year), Spencer Larsen, Keenyn Crier (sp), GRONKOWSKI, and maybe Fontenot.

I think only Holmes is eligible this year though.

I don't get why the Cowboys would want McFadden, they already have Barber and Jones. Unless they are planning to get rid of one (I'd have to assume it would Jones, since Barber is a lot better than him IMO)

Both are free agents after this year (Barber restricted), which means that one of them, most likely Julius Jones, is leaving.

The reason why the Cowboys "want" McFadden involves Jerry Jones' little fetish with having a star from Arkansas on the team. Since McFadden is not only is from Arkansas, but also plays a position that would attract attention upon him as a star, Jerry Jones would take him over the ressurection of Johnny Unitas. Either way, the Cowboys are not going to get him because the Browns are good this year and Jerry Jones was made to look like a complete twatstain for making that awful trade in the draft.

On a related issue, Marion Barber is not an every down back, contrary to what many people want. He's most effective in the role he is in right now, which is as a tough change of pace back who gets 10-15 carries a game, and his production would decline if they gave him the ball more often than not. So, the Cowboys really do need another running back to even things out back there. Julius Jones does a fine job of that, but either way, the Cowboys are going to need a Julius Jones-like running back along with Marion Barber.
