by the way lol @ Jason Sehorn. He predicted the obvious division winner in St.Louis, which makes sense, but then it was 2.Arizona 3.SF 4. Seattle. C'mon now.yeah what an idiot for having an actual opinion instead of the same one everybody else does
SammyG
09-06-2007, 07:48 PM
I'm just saying, no way in hell Arizona finishes 2nd in that division. Holy shit, 45 mins away from kickoff.
I'm sure Jason David has given the Saints all the info they need to throw Manning completely off his game. You should be worried.

I agree on the people are underlooking the Colts statement. A poll I seen on ESPN had about only 17 percent think they will repeat as champs this season. They had some offseason losses, but they still have Manning, Harrison, Wayne, Freeney, and Sanders. I feel Addai might have a breakout season.
SammyG
09-06-2007, 10:26 PM
Addai is sooooo gangster. wtf @ that westside flash after he got in the endzone. I do not like him any longer.

Sadly I havent watched much of this game considering Louisville and MTSU had a SHOOTOUT on ESPN2.
HAHAHAHA MATT GIARDONO!!!
Is it just me or is everyone writing off the Colts this year? Everything i've read the last 3 days has been about how bad Indy's D will be. How the Saints will be headed to the Superbowl and how the Colts will start 4-3 going to New England. Its amazing.
I think the Colts defense is gunna shock people tonight and people will be whistling a different toon tommorow morning. I'm more worried about Peytons blind side then the Defense. Tho Reggie Bush and Duece could have there way with us.
People forget how dominant we are in the Dome. The Dome is gunna be on fire tonight. I dont think the Saints will score more then 20 points. And i think Indy will put up 40+ and you watch and see, after tonight, everyone will be back on the Colts balls. I guarantee you.
that deserves some rep right there

The New Duane Starks
lol i was just about to post that stima.
But i feel bad for the guy cause he's a former Colt
Its funny. I have no clue why the Saints spent so much money on him. He's a classic cover 2 corner. It showed last night. He was looking in the backfield all night and kept getting burned. Once a Cover 2 corner back goes to another system, they become horribly exposed. Hence why that cornerback is alot better in Cover 2. He has more protection. A Cover 2 system can make a corner back with 4.6 or 4.7 speed, look brilliant at times. Just poor poor money spending there. But I think David is young enough and has enough talent that he'll SLOWLY catch on to another system and become a good player for the Saints.
All the blame cant be put on him. I mean the Saints offense ( number 1 last year ) mustard up a whopping 3 points. Thats weak.
Kris P Lettus
09-07-2007, 10:53 AM
D looked aiight minus Jason David..
Kinda sad when I was actually MISSING FRED THOMAS.. But just like last year, it seems high powered AFC teams have our number on the deep ball..
Brees couldn't move the ball for shit.. Never got into any kind of flow.. Should've challenged that first Colts fumble not Brees' fumble..
Not the first time I've ever seen the Saints lose and prolly not the last time, but as my buddy said last night, on paper, that was one of the games we were marked to lose this season..
Fuck Peyton Manning in his stupid ass..

Saints have no shot.
You're not factoring one thing...
They're in the NFC... it's weak, it's as weak if not worse then the AFC in the 1980's.
They'll win their division, maybe even get a bye week beating up on the sisters of the poor....
once in the playoffs anything can happen, especially in the dome.
Yeah, they looked bad last night, but they're not playing the Colts ever week, just about evey team in the league is going to look bad against the Colts this year.
I tell ya, the offense was what it always was but I was very impressed with the Colts D last night, they played like they did in the playoffs last year.

Why do you assholes constantly act like your posts effect me beyond here??
Kris P Lettus
09-07-2007, 07:12 PM
Also, I agree with VEL.. Saints looked like shit last night but one game doesn't change the potential we have.. The trick plays and screens were working fairly well early and I have no idea why we didn't stick with them to get into a rhythm.. I also hjave no idea where our WRs were.. Alot of times Brees had plenty of time in the pocket but I guess the Colts d-back were just on fire..
Atleast we play the Bucs next week..

Saints veteran wide receiver David Patten looked around the locker room following this morning’s workout.
And the11-year veteran, who has garnered three Super Bowl rings during his career approved of what he had witnessed in the aftermath of the team’s season-opening loss at Indianapolis.
“There are a lot of pissed off players in here,” Patten said. “To me, it means they care. It means they care a lot. On the bus ride to the airport, on the plane, there wasn’t much said. I think each player was looking at himself and figuring a way how to use this experience as a learning tool.”
Patten has experienced something like this before. In 2003, the team he played for, the New England Patriots, traveled to Orchard Park, NY and was thumped by the Bills, 31-0. Talk quickly burgeoned that the Patriots were a ship adrift and that the head coach had lost his team. The Patriots, though, went onto win 14 of their last 15 games and went onto win Super Bowl XXXVIII.
“That team had veterans on it and we listened to what our coaches said,” Patten stated this morning. “It’s like Coach Payton told us last night. It was one game and it isn’t going to make or break our season. What it represents is one game out of a 16 game schedule and we will learn from it. Mark my words, we will learn from this and draw from this experience.”
“Had we won last night it would be no different,” he continued. “We would have had to put it behind us and get ready for the next game. This isn’t the postseason. We aren’t one and done. It’s very simple what we have to do. We have to re-focus, prepare for the Bucs and learn not only from the things we need to improve on, but also build on the things that we did well.”
Patten said that when a score looks as lopsided as last night’s did, the natural inclination is to believe that everything is broken. But, he said, that isn’t the case with the 2007 New Orleans Saints.
“We are a good football team and last night’s game, in my mind, is not an indication of what this team is about,” he said. “We need to take care of ourselves and get better and help each other out.”
Patten said he is convicted to the thought that the best way for the Saints to do that is to stick to philosophy the team has across the board. “This is a hard working team and guys have a lot of pride. All of our prides took a shot last night because we all know that there were opportunities there last night and we didn’t capitalize on them. The Colts are the defending Super Bowl champions for a reason, and that reason is that they are a team that makes you pay for your mistakes. We can do the same thing and learn from what we saw. I am confident we will. I’m pretty sure we will all draw from the experience and use it as something that pulls us even closer together as a team.”
Running back Deuce McAllister echoed Patten’s sentiments.
“We have high expectations and aspirations,” the seventh year veteran said as he sat in front of his locker. “We just got off to a bad start. But it doesn’t change our mindset, our goals and our approach. We believe.”

NFC West isn't even that good.
St. Louis will do nothing on account of having absolutely no defense. San Fran will make strides this year but still a far way from being playoff-worthy. Arizona is kinda the same but not as good. Seattle will kinda just win the division by default even though they don't really have anything going on. Actually SF will probably take the division. I don't know, I don't even really care about that division at all.

I can def see it. They have a pretty solid team. Dunno, just used to the past few years of mediocrity from them so I don't "see" them as a playoff team. But that's the wonderful thing about new seasons.
Kris P Lettus
09-08-2007, 07:09 PM
Alex Smith is gonna have a break out season.. They made alot of moves to sure up their D (P-Willy WHAT).. And if Frank Gore and Vernon Davis play up to their potential, they'll be a threat in the NFC for years to come..
SammyG
09-08-2007, 07:35 PM
We have improved our defense. James Hall on the line will be solid, Chris Draft is a good linebacker, Carriker is gonna be a beast in the middle. We will win this division, no doubt in my mind.

Fixing one of the league's worst run defenses isn't gonna happen by adding a rookie and a health-risk DE who had a couple good seasons. Teams are still gonna run all over the Rams.

I can. I wish I could see the Falcons play. But like Ive said since last year. Watch Jerious Norwood. Hes a future HOF person. And Jimmy Williams our FS, and our WR Adam Jennings
Gonzo
09-08-2007, 10:54 PM
If the Falcons can develop some kind of passing attack Norwood could have a good season. But otherwise, opposing defenses will just be able to tee off on the running game, and Norwood won't do squat. Believe me, I think Norwood can be good but not if the offense is one dimensional.

Falcons, no. Their offense is going to be brutal. Their running game last season was one of the best (maybe the top, I forget exactly) in the league, but that was with Vick's presence. Harrington isn't a quarter the athlete Vick is. Teams can bottle up Dunn (he's gonna break down before the season's half done) and Norwood a lot easier with a QB like Harrington in there. Teams will just load 8 guys in the box all the time, forcing Atlanta to pass on them. And why not? They have Harrington who's proved nothing since coming to the NFL (trust me, I've endured it as a Lions fan), Joe Horn who has been injured the past 2 years, and a mish-mash of 1st-round busts at WR. Crumpler's banged up and had good chemistry with Vick but that's gone now. Their passing attack won't be AWFUL but it won't be anything to write home about and will take them a few weeks to really get anything going.
Basically, no. The whole Vick thing is just the icing on the cake.

It has been a horrible day in Buffalo.
Losing Heartbreaker in probably one of the best finishes in a few years.
Losing our Startign FS and CB to a broken ankle and forarm respectively.
Lost our OLB that was filling in for an already injured starter to a Strained MCL
And then worst of all the Kevin Everett situation.
Everett has had a rough few years. He missed his entire rookie year, spent last year still trying to regain form, and we were expecting a big year from him, and now he is fighting for the ability to walk. Its heartbreaking, poor guy. Roscoe Parrish had a good game, but I feel bad for him too, they went to college together and were good friends. All in all Im just hoping that Kevin makes it out the best he can.
