Also, saying "we have one of the most well rounded teams in the NFL" isn't really "hailing them as the best team of all time"..

You need drugs or vagina, little man..

Our D is ranked 3rd against the rush..

FYI

Yes, and the Giants have arguably one of the best OLs in football. The WRs are playing past expectations. The only criticism I can yield is that the Giants haven't played anyone really worth a damn except the Cowboys. I see New Orleans as the first real test for the Giants.

Without looking at numbers, I have to wonder if the Saints' rush defense was statistically aided by their first two games. I'm not completely sold on their D yet. It may be improved, you would be the better expert on that, but I'm skeptical is all.

Some of it was competition but we shut down Westbrook to like 30 yards.. I know y'alls young WR's are doing really well, and y'alls defense is pretty stout, but I feel as if we can get up on any team in the NFL, we can beat them.. Once up by 10+ points our defense has been great at ballhawking late.. It's all about the pace of the first couple of possesions.. Quick start and a beefy running game will make our Offense tough on any team.. That, plus our D has looked better than it has since 91..

Another FYI, we have yet to trail in a game this season..

Same as you, I'm looking forward to the game.. A true test.. The only other team I'm concerned about in the NFC is maybe the Vikes..

Besides the fact that you are assuming we will make the playoffs and lose, which is how i read your comparison in the first post..

I think dominating the Jets was pretty huge for the Saints. If they beat a few more quality opponents in that fashion I am gonna be sold. The Jets are going to be a playoff team.

OssMan
10-06-2009, 10:49 PM
Dunno. I just remember them dominating early on and no one being able to stop Marques Colston. And now that him and Devery Henderson are both at "full strength" again it sort of feels like the same offense I guess.

Kris P Lettus
10-06-2009, 10:52 PM
Thing about our WRs you never know who will have a big game.. Brees is the best in the NFL at spreading out the ball to everyone.. That's why starting any Saints WR is a gamble in fantasy..

Yeah Vikings look legit so far, but Favre over the long haul concerns me.

Good thing so far is that the Giants have been able to start quick each game, scoring on every first possession this year. The thing that concerns me most about the Saints is if the Giants can't get pressure (which doesn't happen very often) and Brees lighting up the secondary.

Yeah story seemed too stupid to be true since if Lebron leaves by next year, then Cleveland kicked out probably one of their best football players to side with Lebron who really didn't want to stay in the city. Although they did get a good WR to replace Edwards.

Supreme Olajuwon

I hope none of you actually think LeBron actually got kicked out of Cleveland.

Nah Cleveland been trying to figure out if they could trade him for maybe past year or 2 but its only until recently he's been dropping too many critical passes. Had Cleveland waited too long, his value would have dropped lower.

The story still sounds stupid since Lebron basically tried to imply Edwards was jealous of Lebron after getting into a fight with his buddies when nobody knows the exact story of how the fight occurred. Then next day Cleveland trades Edwards making it seem like they didn't want to upset Lebron.

FearedSanctity

I look at it as more convenient that the Jets make the trade hours after Crabtree signs, what with them having those tampering charges against them from the 49ers (Crabtree) and Broncos (Marshall)

The uniforms look way too much a like. Can't believe Liam Ezikel is playing linebacker for one of the teams though. He played at a high school in my area, dude was an absolute animal but I always thought he was a 'roid head. I've heard stories of him benching 315 pounds like 20+ times while he was playing at Northeastern. His hits are like trainwrecks, have seen him give a few big shots in this game already (and I'm switching back and forth between the Sox game too). #44 on the team w/ lime green.

Cleveland feels they were robbed of a tie:

Cleveland Browns Defensive Coordinator Bob Ryan said after a question during his press conference today: “I thought you were talking about that missed field goal. Somebody should look at it or research it. It was disappointing.”
Later, he reiterated that it was no good, saying: “You could watch the tape that would be great. I’m not saying anything, but man, maybe the posts were crooked. (But) I don’t want to get fined. I pay enough money on a house I don’t even live in in California.”
He added: “I don’t want to make this a big story, but I was disappointed. Of course, I’m not an expert. That’s why I’m saying maybe somebody else should look at it.”

People on the NFL.com board for the story about the FG in the Bengals-Browns game keep talking about it being a bad angle and how the reaction of the players on the field prove that it was good. People's ignorance and refusal to listen to logic pisses me off sometimes. The ball disappeared behind the upright. It has nothing to do with the angle. If you're looking from behind, and the ball disappears, it's no good. How is it even a discussion.

Take your right hand and put it in front of your face. Then, pass your left hand behind it while looking from a left angle. Now do the same looking from a right angle. Does it suddenly look like your left hand is passing IN FRONT of your right hand? It's kinda that cut and dry when it comes to that field goal. lol

You can actually see the ball as it passes behind the upright. Not over it either. I'm not a scientist but that seems like proof to me.

My question is how the referee standing right underneath the goal post can fuck that up?
I seem to remember a couple years ago when the Refs called a FG no good in a Ravens/Browns game and then supposedly the Ref went to the replay booth and eventually returned and called it good because it went through and bounced off the back support beam back into the field, making it look like it was no good but it was in fact good. Only problem was, at the time, FGs were not reviewable plays. I dont know if they changed the rule or not, but that pissed me off a lot at the time.

I love how random parts of the country are subjected to the Ravens/Bengals. Utah? North Texas? Wyoming and Nebraska?

Not too confident about tomorrow's game. There's no doubt the Ravens are legit this year so the Bengals will have to be on their game and focused the whole 60 minutes which they have not done yet this year.

At the rate this season is going, if we win it'll be discredited because "the Patriots aren't the same as they used to be"

The Bengals win was luck, but ignoring what happened in the last minute and a half of that game, we shut out a team that went on to beat the Packers and Steelers. Everyone ignores this and just jumps on the fact that we won on a lucky play, as if the first 58 minutes didn't matter

And just as the Cowboys "aren't as good anymore because Wade Phillips and Tony Romo suck now"

And like when the Raiders almost beat the Chargers half the league was saying how the Raiders had improved and might actually be decent this year, but when Denver blows them out its just the Raiders being the Raiders

And the Browns, well they're the Browns. Can't defend that one

You know he will do something but yet if you change the channel or blink, you miss what he does. Also ends up with more yards than someone would expect from a player of his size compared to the defense he goes against.

It was only a matter of time before our offense broke out. We have all the weapons to be a dominant force.

It was also nice to see the defense finally swarming to the ball and getting at the quarterback. Granted the SF o line is very weak, it was still a very solid performance.

Yes, but I fail to see how adding a 4th team to a state that doesn't seem to care for what it has now is helping anything. Like I said move the Raiders back there, who knows, if there is a market for them it could help them become respectable again.
