such an odd argument
"The Dallas Cowboys never won a Super Bowl without Roger Staubach or Troy Aikman"
"The Pittsburgh Steelers never won a Super Bowl without Terry Bradshaw or Ben Roethlisberger"
"The New York Giants never won a Super Bowl without Eli, Phil Simms or Jeff Hostetler's moustache"
Brady, Elway, Art Shell and a bunch of others etc
Difference is that you are choosing from 2 disparate eras in a team's history. The Niners went immediately from Montana to Young, and basically had Rice the entire time.

so dynasties don't count basically. It only counts/you only have history if you win the Super Bowl once a decade.

I'm not denying that it's a ridiculous argument. I just don't think "my team won a lot 20 years ago" holds weight as a reason to act like your team is superior.

Anything in the past is stupid to brag about IMO. Only time it should be allowed is bragging about last season during the offseason. Once the new season starts who gives a shirt. You either suck or don't. If you suck then go enjoy watching games from 1980 but no one else cares.

Besides Raiders and Chargers possibly sharing a stadium in LA if both move, Rams owner also working on having a stadium in LA to be shared by two teams. Unlike Raiders and Chargers, his plan doesn't require a 2nd team in case nobody is willing to move.
An NFL team owner has designed a Los Angeles-area stadium for two clubs -- with two home locker rooms, identical sets of office space and two owners' suites.
St. Louis Rams' owner Stan Kroenke doesn't need to partner with a second team to finance the $1.86-billion venue in Inglewood, but the league considers Los Angeles a two-team market and wants a stadium that could accommodate both, according to the Los Angeles Times.
His plan competes with one by the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders, who want to share a stadium in Carson.
Kroenke hasn't said he plans to move the Rams, but analysts doubt he would invest in a stadium and not use it for his team.

NFL announced the compensatory picks for the 2015 draft, the Cardinals get to select this year's Mr. Irrelevant.
The NFL has never revealed the formula used to decide on comp picks but it relates to players lost in the previous year's free agency. The Pats got an extra 3rd round pick largely due to losing Aqib Talib.
Also funny is seeing the Bengals get a 3rd rounder mostly due to losing Michael Johnson, who they already got back. Nice job Bucs.

So will all diving catches result in a no catch now? Or is there a separate rule for diving catches. Say its a clear catch ,receiver dove to make the catch so he's on the ground, defensive player touches him. Incomplete pass. :|

Still think the CFL-style of an extra point for 50+ yd FGs would be the best. Makes longer FGs more exciting, wouldn't mess up scoring in a weird way like what the Colts suggested or by removing PATs, and just moving PATs back a few yards would still make them "boring."

I was always a big proponent of defending the extra point but at this point it's a total formality. You have to try really hard to screw it up.
I wouldn't mind the NFL Blitz rule: touchdown is worth 7 points by default. If you want to go for an 8th point, you put a point at risk. If you make it, 8 points. If you don't, 6 points. Pretty simple and keeps strategies basically the same with respect to the current game.
The worst thing they could possibly do would be to force everybody to go for 2 no matter what. A 2-point conversion attempt is basically a 50/50 play, it'd be terrible to dramatically swing the game on what amounts to total luck. You may as well just flip a coin at that point.

Ruien

We should just give the team the ball at their 20 and tell them they get 3 plays to get into the end zone again. We can award them 1 point if it takes 3 plays, 2 points if it takes 2 plays, and a holy OMG 3 points if it takes 1 play. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Seriously, the game is just fine as it is. It is called a EXTRA POINT for a reason. It is like the reward for getting a touchdown instead of doing 2 field goals.

Colts were investigated and the allegations were proven to be false. CBS took responsibility for the crowd noise issue years ago when this rumor started. Something to do with their audio fucked up and caused a feedback sensation. It only existed on their channel's broadcast, and couldn't be heard in the stadium. Former Bucs kicker, Lawrence Tynes, is currently suing the team over the MRSA mini-pandemic a few years ago.
Former Buccaneers kicker Lawrence Tynes has sued the team, claiming that unsanitary conditions at the team's facility led to him contracting MRSA.
Tynes claims the infection led to the end of his career, and he is asking for $20 million in expected future earnings, according to a news release issued by Tynes' attorneys. Tynes was signed by the Bucs in 2013 but never kicked for the team, as he was diagnosed with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus at the start of training camp.
The lawsuit claims the Bucs failed to disclose and actively concealed ongoing incidents of the infection among other individuals who used and visited the team's facilities. It also is alleged that the Bucs failed to employ necessary sterile techniques and routinely left therapy devices, equipment and surfaces unclean.

Giants @ Dallas on SNF in week one is a little strange considering the other options available. Kinda makes me think they're saving Philly for Thanksgiving again now. Dallas @ Washington seems like a lock for a Monday night at some point, too.

Yeah it seems weird. Giants/Dallas are a lock for a night game once a year but Giants @ Dallas was the SNF opener just 2 years ago. And the 3rd time in 4 years that those 2 teams play each other week 1.
Also for the Giants it's the 4th year in a row they open in a night game. Obv one of them was the customary night opener for winning the SB but still seems odd.
Pretty much abhor night games cause they're extra stressful.

Bears vs. Packers is the Thanksgiving Night game.
They're gonna retire Favre's #4 that night, too.
AND, it's the first Thanksgiving home game for the Packers since 1923. A good 92 years since.
Why the hell have the Bears playing the Packers on Thanksgiving? At least have it Detroit and Green Bay. The Bears will be blown out by 50 points.

If the Ravens can get through the tough road stretch to start, the back end with all the home games looks promising. I could even see them beating the Seahawks since it's a prime time game at home.
Plus the Steelers play 4 of their last 6 on the road including @ Seattle and the two home games are Denver and Indianapolis.
Cincinnati has a favorable schedule but they get the same 4 west coast game treatment. They also have to play Houston from the AFC South where the Ravens play the Jaguars. I also should have factored the Bengals playing in Denver week 16 on MNF before the week 17 game, that might work against them.

Last year's prediction
I keep having a bad feeling about this season for the Ravens and then I look at their schedule (http://www.baltimoreravens.com/gameday/season-schedule.html). if they can't go 11-5, then its probably going to be an awful year.
Bucs, Jaguars, Texans, Falcons, Titans, Browns (2) should all be wins which is 7.
Colts, Chargers and Dolphins are toss ups though I think the Chargers and Dolphins being near the end of the season helps the chances of winning 2 of them.
outside of Division games with Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, the two toughest games will be Panthers and at the Saints. Winning in new Orleans (when its not the Super Bowl) is hard..the Panthers in Baltimore will be rough too. 0-2 strong possibility.
They can split the Steeler/Bengal Series and still get 11 wins.
I like how I was wrong about the Panthers and Saints games which were actually 2 of their best performsnces. I was also wrong about the Texans game which was probably their 2nd worst loss behind the drubbing they took in Pittsburgh (which was made up for in the playoffs)
They went 10-6 but they disn't split with the Bengals for 11 like I thought they would, and I totally blame that on the bullshit offensive PI call in the week 1 game at home. And technically with the 1 playoff win they did win 11 games.
So I like to think I was about as close as anyone in predicting their season. I did predict it in July, so I will probably go back an adjust if anything happens in the draft but for now this is how I see it:
Jaguars, Browns (x2), Raiders, 49ers, Rams, Cardinals =7 wins they should be able to dominate the NFC West like they did the south last year with exception of Seattle.
Toss ups: Miami, Kansas City and San Diego my prediction had them winning vs KC and Miami and losing to SD, but I think they'll go 2-1 in these 3 one way or another
Outside of the Division games vs Pittsburgh and Cincinnati they only have two really tough games vs Denver an Seattle. The Denver game is especially tough since Kubiak is there. I'd like to think they could beat Seattle at home in prime time. A split of these 6 games somehow would get them to 12 wins.
I'm not as pessimistic about the wins this year, I think they could go 11-5 or even 10-6 and still win the division.

Weeks 13-16 either the Steelers, Ravens, or both are playing the NBC night game on Sunday. Unless it gets flexed out somehow.

Evil Vito
04-22-2015, 08:35 PM
Thinking about it, the schedule makers almost surely make the NBC games the first thing they "book". The season opening game is a standalone game but it's obviously defending SB champion vs. the most marquee same-conference team on their schedule.
In general the Cowboys, Eagles, Giants, Packers, Seahawks, Niners, Pats, Colts, Steelers, Ravens, and Broncos are pretty much guaranteed to be on SNF twice each at absolute minimum. So after you get the guaranteed ones we see every year out of the way (Steelers/Ravens, Giants/Cowboys, Cowboys/Eagles, etc.) you're just left cherry picking games that feature the other teams, matching them up against teams that should be decent, etc.
Obv it makes sense that NBC would want "over" teams. On the downside though the MNF schedule has been fucking terrible ever since NBC got dibs on games.

Giants are said to love Flowers and feel he could start at RT day one with the potential to be a star LT down the line. We'll see if that's where they go.

Is the RB class really that bad this year?

Every know it all analyst says you don't draft a RB in the first round.

Someone tell me, did the Bears draft some players with good potential? No idea who anyone in the draft is because I don't watch college sports.

Todd Gurley had a smoking hot white hoe. Grats Todd!

They drafted a guy who's fast enough to chase down Defensive players on all of Cutlers pick 6's.
If Landon Collins falls to the Colts, I'll be thrilled!

Cool. What did the Colts do? Did they end up trading the pick? Hope not. Love having a bunch of young guys. Especially with the additions of Gore and Johnson.

I think the Boys will shock you. I think they take Tevin Coleman.

Irvin was raving over Perriman, one of the better endorsements a WR can get. Wasn't really digging the pick before that though
Now watch as the Colts dont fill there thinnest position with Landon Collins and draft some WR.

Not a bad pick, would have liked Collins or Hollaman but Jones is good.

Bunch of chatter around the net about how Shane Ray's 1st Round pick confirming the NFL being homophobic towards Micheal Sam since both players are about the same talent wise and won SEC defensive player of the year awards.
Difference being Sam coming out that he was gay and Ray getting busted with drugs before the draft.
Landon Collins should be the pick, but espn just went to commercial giving Ryan Grigson plenty of time to fuck this up .
Now watch as the Colts dont fill there thinnest position with Landon Collins and draft some WR.
I hate being right. Grigson is one of the worst GM's in the league.

Pats just debunked it. Knowing BB, probably was trying to do that even though he really needs to get some quality CBs and maybe Ss as soon as possible.

They booed the right amount. Bears fans made the commish say "with the 30th pick" two or three times. No need to insult the player on the biggest night of his career.
