Got rid of too many good players especially on offense. Got Graham thinking he'd be great but instead he doesn't really fit in the system there. Wilson has regressed a bit but could be due to the player's they lost on the O-line as well.

I like to look at the bright side, but I'm not buying that right now. Flacco has made some awful decisions that led to drive/game-killing interceptions. Plus the defense would probably get wrecked by a college team at this point.
Nothing is really clicking and I'm not sure how it could be fixed.

Mmmmmmmmmmm. Broncos picked up Vernon Davis from the Niners for a couple late round picks in 2016 and 2017.
Not a bad grab to fill TE hole with a veteran. But, now I gotta wonder why Elway didn't pony up the cash to retain Julius Thomas during the offseason?

So this is an odd one here.
While looking up recent events to become even more enraged over the NFL, I tried to do a CROSS-REFERENCE of DeAngelo Williams and Greg Hardy; Williams was recently fined for a uniform violation for wearing TOO MUCH PINK OMG because his mother passed away from breast cancer last year, and Greg Hardy is, well, yeah. So while looking up the two to see if anyone else had made an appropriately cynical commentary on the two, I found a really interesting thing.
Last year when Williams' mom died, nobody from the entire Panthers organization (where he spent 9 years of his career/life) showed up to the funeral. Except one person.
Greg Hardy.

Tony Romo is probably the MVP of every other team in the NFC East right now.
Even though mathematically it would have helped the Giants more for Dallas to win, I really don't want Romo to come back with a chance for Dallas to steal the division. Then again the division is so poor that they may still have an outside shot despite all of the losing.
Evil Vito
11-09-2015, 09:33 AM
Of course the way things are going now, Week 17 will come down to Eagles/Giants for the division, and since it's currently shaping up to be the tightest playoff race despite the division being dogshit, I could easily see it getting bumped up into primetime.
Giants haven't beaten the Eagles in primetime since 2008. And since that game took place, the Giants have lost 12 of 15 meetings to Philly.
So yeah...most likely the entire season's gonna boil down to their 4th quarter idiocy in Dallas week 1 with their Week 2 meltdown vs. ATL not far behind.
#1-norm-fan
11-09-2015, 06:38 PM
I honestly doubt that Dallas can win the division at this point even with Romo coming back in 2 weeks. Winning every game he plays is a tall order but even then, Philly and the Giants would have to go .500 down the stretch. And yes, I'm already projecting a loss in Tampa next week. I get the feeling this team without Romo is just built to lose regardless of the opponent.

NFL currently investigating those reports to find out if the team was hiding how serious Luck was hurt and if it played a role in his recent injury.

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has torn plantar fascia in his right foot, league sources told ESPN on Monday morning.
Some Broncos players told ESPN that Manning, who was pulled from Sunday's 29-13 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the third quarter, had difficulty walking last week.
Sources told ESPN that Manning has battled plantar fasciitis for weeks but is believed to have aggravated the injury against Indianapolis on Nov. 8. The injury resulted in a partial tear of his plantar fascia. Almost always, a partial tear is more painful to play with than a complete tear.

3. BAL lost to the Jags.
The NFL admitted they blew the call to end the game though
OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- The NFL acknowledged an officiating mistake cost the Baltimore Ravens a victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
League spokesman Michael Signora said the Jacksonville Jaguars should've been penalized for a false start on their final play from scrimmage, which would've resulted in a 10-second runoff and a 20-19 victory for the Ravens.
Instead, the Jaguars were allowed to snap the ball and Elvis Dumervil was flagged for a facemask of quarterback Blake Bortles. Jason Myers then kicked a game-winning 53-yard field goal with no time remaining for a controversial, 22-20 win for the Jaguars.
"The correct call in this case would have been to penalize the offense for a false start because all 11 players were not set, and whistle to stop the play," Signora said. "The ensuing 10-second runoff should have ended the game."

Probably the rare time where both sides would have been better off not doing anything instead.
Eagles have been doing somewhat well despite how bad Bradford has been at times this season and looks like his injury bug is back. Rams seem to be the same regardless who is their QB and really over-estimated how good Foles would be in their system.

Biggest issue the team has is Manning not willing to offer any help to Brock Osweiler to prepare him better for the game tomorrow. Might not even help Osweiler for future games either.

Brett Favre, Terrell Owens, and Alan Faneca are the first-timers among the 25 Modern Era HOF finalists revealed this week.
Favre is mortal lock to go in on the first ballot. Faneca will probably need to wait a few years since guards seldom go in right away. Owens' big issue is that there is a backlog of WRs waiting to go in. It's started to clear up recently (Cris Carter 2013, Andre Reed 2014, Tim Brown last year) but there still other guys waiting.
Favre will be the first QB enshrinee since 2006, and there's a very good chance at Ken Stabler being elected by the Seniors Committee too. Really can't see 3 QBs going in during the same year, so Warner will need to wait at least another year. I do see Orlando Pace going in to represent the Greatest Show on Turf, and was pretty shocked he wasn't a first ballot guy last year.
If Pace goes in I'm not sure about Torry Holt and/or Isaac Bruce going in at the same time. Probably will end up being Marvin Harrison's year as the voters are strongly encouraged to not factor in off-field stuff. Bound to make for an awkward speech though, which is why Tony Dungy might go in at the same time even if the voters try to elect people from different markets. I'd be surprised to not see a defensive player elected as well, so it might be the year for Kevin Greene to go in as a 10-time finalist.
Eddie DeBartolo Jr. was nominated in the "Contributors" category. It's just a straight up yes or no vote for him and he needs 80% support. Owner of 5 Super Bowl winning teams that had loads of legends on them, and the announcement is happening in San Francisco. Yeah, he's going in.

If I had to guess, its probably a mix of guys tackling lower due to rule changes and certain types pf practices being restricted by amount for the past couple of years.
The NFL implemented a number of changes this year that were intended to reduce the number of injuries. In March, NFL owners agreed to eliminate “all chop blocks and peel blocks by running backs outside the tackle box,” ban “players from pushing teammates at the line of scrimmage in order to block punts” and expand “defenseless-player protection to include interception returns.” None of these arcane changes have had any noticeable impact on the total number of injuries thus far. The NFL claims that previous rule changes have reduced the number of concussions sustained by NFL players.
http://thinkprogress.org/sports/2015/09/21/3703665/the-human-toll-of-2-weeks-of-nfl-football/
They tried to get rid of high hits and the chop style but instead of coaches teaching players to tackle the body, most are probably going lower towards the knees for easier tackles.
http://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2015/injuries.htm
A big bulk of this year's injuries are towards the foot and knee areas.
Another quick search might suggest something a bit more sinister if Brady Quinn is right about how players are using and hiding their HGH use.

Next month's NFL owners vote is going to determine which team or teams are likely moving to LA for next season. Baring a sudden change, the current options are Raiders & Chargers or just the Rams.
Raiders considering pairing with the Rams if their bid with the Chargers doesn't get enough support prior to the vote. Rams nor Chargers are interested in pairing together.
By the middle of January, the hope is the NFL will know which teams and how many will be calling Los Angeles home in 2016.
The owners will meet again Jan. 12-13 in Houston with the expectation that there will be a vote, after they heard from the owners of the St. Louis Rams, San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders at a Wednesday meeting at the Four Seasons Las Colinas Resort outside Dallas.

Rams would end up making the most sense. Seattle, San Fran, and Arizona are a straight line then you hang a left and go half way across the country to play in St. Louis. It would just make the NFC West way more convenient.
Don't know why San Diego would move. City would end up being a 1-team town with the Padres. Could picture Oakland. Get the hell out of O.co Stadium and leave it to the A's to deal with.

I was fine with the decision. I have little doubt that if they kicked the FG, they'd have lost 24-23.

Funny thing is, this was only the Giants' 4th worst loss of the season. What a miserable year it's been.

All the talk a couple weeks ago about how the Giants, Eagles and Cowboys would likely be neck and neck and neck for the division going into week 17 and the Redskins seem primed to win it before then now. lol

Eagles DC must have burned the playbook after last week's Thanksgiving nightmare.
Whatever he's got going, it's working against New England right now.

Eagles did everything they could to keep New England alive and give that game away. Damn.

I think it's Coughlin's time at the end of the year. Way too many calls and moves this year that don't make sense coming from a great coach.

I don't see how it can't be. I can't imagine too many coaches would survive a year in which you blow 5 games that you lead with 2 minutes left. I suspect they'll offer him a chance to "retire" to save face, but we know the real reason he's going.
I'm actually sorta excited at the prospect of reading head coach rumors for the first time since I was a freshman in high school.
Reese needs to go to imo. The defense has been pretty much terrible every year since the last SB win. Lots of shitty signings and terrible drafts. Oh and the O-line is still broken.

I am 100% fine with giving Payton a shot if he's available. I feel like the Saints would be crazy to let him go. I know this is their 3rd losing season in the last 4, but 2012 was really a lost season because of Bountygate and even then, they were 7-9 in 2012 and 2014. Not like they were total bottom dwellers.
The only way it makes sense to dump Payton is if they plan on releasing Brees too. He only has one year left on his deal so I feel like they should just give that tandem one last chance to put together a winning team.
