Forsett, 28, is a 5-foot-8, 194-pound quick back. The former 2008 seventh-round pick out of the University of California is entering his seventh season and will be joining his fifth team.
He spent the 2012 season with the Houston Texans and new Ravens Offensive Coordinator Gary Kubiak, which gives him an understanding of Kubiak’s system that he can pass along to the other running backs.
“I’m here for that, as well as being able to compete on the field,” Forsett said.
With the Texans in 2012, Forsett ran 63 times for 374 yards (a career-high 5.9 yards per carry) and one touchdown, an 81-yard score. He caught three passes for 38 yards.
Kubiak and his offense were big reasons why Forsett decided to sign with the Ravens. He said Baltimore was one of the first teams that contacted him when he became a free agent.
“I had a ton of success there in Houston with him,” Forsett said.
“I’m excited about the system; I’ve been in the West Coast offense, zone running scheme for most of my career. So, it just fits what I do, where I like to be and where I’m familiar. So, it was a no-brainer.”
Forsett spent 2013 with the Jacksonville Jaguars after inking a two-year deal. Playing through injuries, he suited up for just nine games and had a career-low six carries for 31 yards. He was placed on injured reserve in December with a broken foot and released on March 11.
Apparently a ton of success in the nfl for a RB is now barely 400 yards of total offense. The plan to sign anyone who ever played for Kubiak is getting a little old. They can plan on drafting a RB later rounds as an option and it would have made more sense.
I did like the move to sign Owen Daniels cause that gives the Ravens 2 solid TEs.

From SI:
From the moment he purchased the Generals after the 1983 season, the New York real estate tycoon was viewed warily by his fellow owners. He was 37 years old and uncomfortably aggressive. When Trump spoke at league meetings, it always seemed to be about moving to fall and taking on the NFL head on. Few trusted Trump's motivations, convinced that what he really wanted was the Generals to be absorbed by the established league -- the other USFL franchises be damned.
He was, however, convincing, and on October 18, 1984, the league announced that it would begin playing a fall schedule two years later. It simultaneously filed an antitrust lawsuit against the NFL, claiming it had established a monopoly in regards to television broadcasting rights. Trump emerged as the USFL's unofficial spokesperson, and he came off as undisciplined and unrealistic. More and more of the league's owners dropped their teams, believing (rightly) that they couldn't match up with the NFL's established entities (the Denver Gold, for example, had no hope against the Broncos; the Maulers knew they'd be mauled by the Steelers).
Ultimately, the 1985 USFL season was the end. The lawsuit became a running joke, with the NFL eventually forced to pay $3 for having violated anti-monopoly laws.
I dont give him much of a shot at owning the bills. Probably better chance of being elected President in 2016.

Goodell said this week that the league would consider adding a FOURTH day to the NFL Draft. When I initially saw the headline I thought maybe that meant they'd add more rounds since there are a lot of guys who go undrafted who wind up being pretty good finds. But nope, it would still be 7 rounds.
I'm assuming that means that the 2nd round would get its own day as well. And then you'd do Rounds 3-4 and 5-7 in the final two days. Or Round 3 gets its own day with 4-7 on the final day.
Either way, that would be ridiculous - even more than it already is. At that point you may as well just stretch it out over a week and do a round a day.

I really want the Giants to get Eli another weapon. Mike Evans would be an absolute dream, but it's hard to imagine him still being there at 12. I'd have a hard time seeing him slip past the Bucs at #7. I can't even remember the last time the Giants traded up in the first round...not sure they'd want to part with the picks necessary to leap ahead of Tampa.
I've long said I'd love to get Eric Ebron as he's a legitimate vertical threat who can help stabilize the TE position after years of it being a revolving door. But he's not known as a blocker, which the Giants value in their TEs. The Coughlin/Reese regime just doesn't seem to see the value in drafting a TE early.
So that leaves OL as the likely position, Taylor Lewan and Zack Martin being the most likely to still be on the board. Can't really go wrong there. Geoff Schwartz was a great pickup and Justin Pugh was good, but the other 3 projected starters have huge health red flags.

Seems there are still a lot of good DTs on the board. Giants seem to take a second round DT every year so I wouldn't be surprised if they take one of the DTs tomorrow....but I do think they need to get an OL. As it is now they've got Schwartz, Pugh, and 3 guys coming off of major injuries. Hopefully not taking Zack Martin won't come back to bite them.
Odell Beckham is still very intriguing, though. The Giants did need receiver help certainly. The biggest knock I see on Beckham is his height (5'11"). Rueben Randle is their tallest wideout at 6'2". Cruz and Manningham are both 6'0". I do miss the days of just being able to heave it up to Plaxico Burress who towered over all the CBs. Of course Ramses Barden was 6'6" and accomplished absolutely nothing so it might not be a big deal.

Browns do what the Browns do best. So will he be cut or traded within 2 years?
Don't be silly.
There will be a minor injury first... because the Browns keep going for the big name, "great white hope" potential franchise QB that will put asses in seats and sell jerseys instead of building a line to protect that guy or aquiring some targets for him to throw to. Year one is him not living up to the hype through little fault of his own.
Then, there'll be the season ending injury that dashes their possible playoff season hopes in around week 4 of the second year.
Next comes the inevitable QB controversy, where the backup limps them along to a .500 season in Johnny Football's absence and they start to think the unknown backup might be the better starter.
So, 3 years, not 2. Then rinse and repeat in that year's draft when they pick yet another quarterback.
Everybody stop saying bad things about the Cleveland Browns.
Okay... at least they're not the "Youngstown Browns". That's gotta count for something, right?

Projections aren't the same as performance. While they do have a habit of picking up *ok* players, they usually end up playing together merely as a mediocre team. For comparison, think about the basketball team the Houston Rockets tried to field around 98ish... they picked up a bunch of star calibur, known players and they didn't exactly set the world on fire a cohesive unit. Cleveland just had how many Pro Bowl selections? And yet they can't win games that have meaning.
And I was speaking more on the penchant of the organization trying to always solve their woes by throwing a "hot new" quarterback at it. They've done that since day one back in '99, where they went on record as stating that intention with Tim Couch. They don't cultivate any sort of depth in running game, receivers, or an O line, and throw all their chips in on QBs and coaches, and change them like underwear, instead of sticking with a guy, saying "this is our guy" and sticking to it to find players who get cohesive chemistry. They tend to trade away standouts in skill positions and wear down quarterbacks with danger and doubt.

As a Division 3 player I knew it was very unlikely that a team was going to invest a draft pick on him, but I figured he'd at least be one of the dozens of guys signed right after the draft. All I see when I search his name on Twitter are tweets before the draft, so if he did sign somewhere none of the beat writers for that respective team have bothered to report it. I'm guessing he may still get brought in on a tryout basis for a team, but sucks that he didn't get signed. Whether he made it to a 53 man roster or not, just seeing a guy from WCSU in the NFL somewhere would have been a big boost for the program.

The NFL draft could land in New York City, Chicago or Los Angeles next year.
League spokesman Brian McCarthy said Thursday that the league is "focusing" on those three cities as potential host sites for the 2015 draft, although other cities remain in the mix.
The regular host site of the draft, Radio City Music Hall in New York, will not be available next year, according to multiple reports.
The league also is looking at moving the dates of next year's draft to either April 22-25 or April 29-May 2, McCarthy said.

The ruling only means he can't sue other people for using the term Redskins but if there's such a backlash towards them using it, who would want to call anything Redskins? Plus the logo is still protected through the NFL.

I keep having a bad feeling about this season for the Ravens and then I look at their schedule (http://www.baltimoreravens.com/gameday/season-schedule.html). if they can't go 11-5, then its probably going to be an awful year.
Bucs, Jaguars, Texans, Falcons, Titans, Browns (2) should all be wins which is 7.
Colts, Chargers and Dolphins are toss ups though I think the Chargers and Dolphins being near the end of the season helps the chances of winning 2 of them.
outside of Division games with Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, the two toughest games will be Panthers and at the Saints. Winning in new Orleans (when its not the Super Bowl) is hard..the Panthers in Baltimore will be rough too. 0-2 strong possibility.
They can split the Steeler/Bengal Series and still get 11 wins.

Falcons, Texans, and Browns will not be a cakewalk for Baltimore. Falcons will comeback to form this year so you should count them as a lose anyhow. They will go 1-1 with the Browns and the Texans will be a toss up. This is due to the fact Baltimore has a terrible team.

I feel bad if you can't remember all the way back to 2012. Prior to last year the last time the Browns beat the Ravens was a sweep in 07. I'm not seeing anything from the browns that says they're any better with Johnny Football. The Bengals have 2 additional games vs the Broncos and Patriots in addition to the Saints/Colts/Panther. The NFL also screwed them by making their bye week week 4. Steelers have an easier schedule and I could see them doing better this year.
Gary Kubiak running the Ravens offense is going to be a breath of fresh air. I've heard a lot of promising early reports. Obviously a lot will depend on what happens with Ray Rice but I think Pierce will be capable of filling in.

If Snee were determined to play this year, I'm pretty positive he'd have started on the PUP list and would have missed at least 6 weeks. He couldn't even get through OTAs without his elbow flaring up. Just couldn't see a scenario in which he made the 53-man roster to start the year.

Word came out of the officials' camp in Dallas on Friday that the league is going to put an emphasis on calling more penalties in pass coverage. Former vice president of officiating Mike Pereira tweeted Friday that officials are being asked to call more interference, holding and illegal contact penalties... The idea is to create more offense. Scoring is already at an all-time high, but the NFL doesn't want scoring and offensive production to drop off. The Seahawks won the Super Bowl with their "Legion of Boom" defense. While it was fun to see defense back on the podium, the NFL doesn't want to see the sport go the way of baseball, which is dominated by pitching and low-scoring games.

Yep, let's further neuter defenses to may way for more offense. Clearly that's what the NFL needs.

Sidney Rice retires at age 27.
Makes sense really. Seattle had Baldwin, Harvin, and Kearse ahead of him on the depth chart plus they drafted two WRs (Paul Richardson and Kevin Norwood) who would have figured to be locks for the team. That would have left Rice fighting for a possible 6th WR spot that probably would have been better served going to somebody who could contribute on special teams, like Ricardo Lockette.
He still made a good amount of money in his career and got a ring. His body keeps betraying him so probably best to hang 'em up now.

Better to go out on your own terms than get forced out. NFL's had their fair share of senile old bastards still running teams and making bad decisions/driving people crazy.
God bless Pat Bowlen. Broncos are in good hands.

Question about Rice. How does "retiring" affect things like free agent status, contract commitment etc? I know it's come up tons of times before (Favre being a recent example) but I forget how it all played out. If a player "retires" then say, in Rice's case, his body cooperates and 2 years later tries to break back into the league, are they just a UFA at that point? Would Seattle get any compensation? What's to stop players from retiring willy-nilly to get out of contracts? (legitimate question, I do not actually know how any of it works)
