Never got into Pokemon. Might consider it if they made a WiiU game.

Too much of a handheld system seller for them to make a console game in the past, but the WiiU is tanking, and desperate times call for desperate measures.

They are not putting a full Pokemon game on home console, it will always be spin-offs.

Yeah it prints money, but that doesn't seem to be a problem right now. WiiU is only struggling for itself; Nintendo as a whole can still buy small countries.

WiiU will certainly see a spike in sales with Mario Kart and Smash Bros, but it won't save the system. Same problem Nintendo had last Gen, no third party support.

Come April 26, 2014, one of gaming's greatest mysteries will finally be solved. Or maybe it will just be get even more convoluted and confusing. In either case, that is the official date Microsoft just announced for when someone is finally going to break ground on the infamous New Mexico landfill that's allegedly overflowing with discarded copies of the Atari 2600 games E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and Pac-Man.

As legend has it, Atari piled the unused cartridges into the landfill more than three decades ago following the colossal commercial failure of both titles. The company had paid through the nose to secure the rights to make a video game adaptation of E.T. The game that eventually came out of this licensing deal wasn't just terrible, however. It also had very little to do with Steven Spielberg's classic movie of the same name. As for Pac-Man? Well, the console version of the game sold around seven million copies but still left Atari with an extra five million gathering dust in its warehouse in El Paso, Texas.

The mystery lies in what happened next. On April 26, 1989, Atari did bury a bunch of stuff in a landfill in Alamogordo, a city in south-central New Mexico. It has never confirmed if the thousands of unused cartridges were part (or all) of said stuff, however.

Late last year, the media company Fuel Entertainment got exclusive rights from the Alamogordo city council to go digging for the landfill. Now partnered with Microsoft's Xbox Entertainment Studios and LightBox Entertainment, Fuel is finally going to put all the conspiracy theories to the test.

Has anyone here played Forza 5? Does it have any sort of off road racing in it? Been playing Dirt 2 a little lately and it's fun, but I was planning on getting Forza when I get my XB1 so I was figuring it might kill 2 birds with one stone as it's hard to say when the next Dirt game will appear.

So far, no. The worst thing about Forza 5 is the lack of tracks at this time. They have a "Rally" division, which I was excited to try, but sad to find out it is only the car type that fits "rally" and not actual rally racing :(

I would rent it for 2-3 days and see what you think. I bought it and AC Black Flag with my system, I haven't touched Forza in about a month.

They did just add a new track from California, but still, not many tracks at all. :|

But I figure with the way they roll out DLC, and the fact I probably won't get it for a few more months when I'm able to finish off my 360 library that maybe they would have more tracks by that time and hopefully some dirt.

"I'm often called the father of Mega Man, but actually, his design was already created when I joined Capcom," he explained. "My mentor (Capcom senior member Akira Kitamura), who was the designer of the original Mega Man, had a basic concept of what Mega Man was supposed to look like. So I only did half of the job in creating him. I didn't get to completely design a Mega Man [protagonist] from scratch until Zero (Mega Man X, SNES). Back when the SNES was coming out, I was asked to give Mega Man a redesign, so I created this character. But I realized that this design wouldn't be accepted as Mega Man, so I had another designer create the new Mega Man, and I worked on Zero to release him as the 'other main character' that would steal all the good scenes!

Being that Inafune crafted the games I'd still consider him father of the series. Kamiya crafted Bayonetta but she herself was designed by another female artist.

Thing is, he didn't though. Kitamura crafted the gameplay, the pick your stage gimmick and everything else that made Megaman what he is today. Inafune was in the art department and did sprite work as well. Wasn't until 3 that he took over as the project leader and implemented his own major gameplay ideas. By then the groundwork was firmly established.

Not trying to take away from Inafune btw. He was involved in the series for a lot longer, and I'm fine with him getting the lion's share of credit for the series success.

I just think this other guy deserves some more credit, considering he typically gets none at all.

According to an internal memo, Activision is merging Neversoft into Infinity Ward to create a single "super" studio with the official reason related to the Call of Duty series.

Namco's fiscal report revealed Dark Soul 2 managed to ship around 1.2 million copies since its launch although overall company profits were down compared to last year.
Konami's fiscal report revealed the company saw a 50% drop in overall profits and a 3 million drop in overall game sales compared to the 2013 fiscal report.
Capcom's fiscal report the company saw an increase in net income by around 16% and net game sales were up by around 9% with Monster Hunter 4 contributing the most to both increases.

Update to EA and the GameSpy server shutdown as EA states they haven't been able to create a fix to let older Battlefield games keep their online multiplayer after May 31st.

Since GameSpy’s announcement, our teams have been working to evaluate options to keep services up and running. Unfortunately, due to technical challenges and concerns about the player experience, we do not have a solution at this time. Online services for EA games on the GameSpy platform will be closed down at the end of June.

We know some of these games are still fan favorites, including Battlefield 2, Battlefield 1942, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and Command & Conquer games. We are still investigating community-supported options to preserve online functionality for these titles, such as multiplayer. Significant technical hurdles remain, and at this time we don’t have anything to announce.

Also includes both Star Wars: Battlefront I & II since they now own the rights to the series.

Always on isn't really an issue. You can mute the Kinect mic anytime you wish and leave it as such permanently and you can also have it plugged in, but have the video disabled (or if you are really worried, put a random object in front of the lens/turn it around :| ). Unless you wear a tin foil hat and have piss poor networking security, there really is nothing to worry about.

And Xbox Fitness, all the routines, as well as Kinect Adventures, make for a great workout if you actually committ. Drunk Dance Central makes for fun times too :D

Now it's without the Kinect, I'm more likely to trade in my 360 sooner for the One. I've never really used the 360 Kinect, never appealed to me and never had the space needed. I know I wouldn't use the new Kinect, a lot of it's features aren't available in my region and don't have anywhere really to have it sitting there all the time, so for me I've never wanted it. I'm glad there is now an option to not have it, certainly help with the cost although the console by itself is still going to be around $599 where I am.

I've been playing Mario Kart 8 a lot lately and I've got to say, it's a really enjoyable game. I'm playing it every day and I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a game so much that I played it every day and I couldn't wait to play it again once I stopped playing.

The only problem I have with it are the new items. In my opinion, all of them but one are just terrible and pointless. The Super Horn is pretty good and it can really help you out a lot, but the others are just horrible. Both the Boomerang Flower and Piranha Plant achieve nothing, more so the latter, and the Crazy Eight has to be the most frustrating item ever.

The vast majority of the time, when I get the Crazy Eight, I explode within five seconds of having the item, as another driver, be it CPU or an actual player, will always touch the Bob-omb that's hovering around me and it'll go off, effecting me and everyone close to me.

I can see that it was created with good intentions but how anyone is expected to drive, keep an eye on the track, see what item is best to use at that moment and to correctly aim the weapon at your target, while watching your back for attacks, all at the same time is pretty insane.

Also, Battle Mode is pretty bad too. Having a track instead of a stage/arena just makes Battle Mode pretty boring.

The monster plant is really good during traffic or hazards. That fucker will eat almost anything provided he's not in recovery of his last chomp. Son of a bitch ate a boomerang coming back at me. Crazy.

The boomerang is basically a green shell with a second try tied to it. If you miss the first shot you can angle behind the other guy and ensure he gets hit on the rebound. It's also good for getting a red shell of your ass if you time it right.

Yeah Battle Mode is shit. It's only remotely viable a gametype on the smallest, simplest track (the first track), and even then I wish for an arena map. Kinda crazy they didn't roll with that for whatever reason. If DLC is to be attempted, let it be arena maps for Battle Mode.

Ditto, though I was hoping to see more tracks from the Super Nintendo, GameCube and Wii. Tracks such as Koopa Beach, Choco Island 2, Daisy Cruiser, DK Mountain, Waluigi Stadium, Peach Gardens and Toad's Factory. Any of them would have been nice. Also, having Baby Park back would have been great, considering how crazy the game can get and even more so when playing online.

I'm just slightly disappointed at the lack of "old" older tracks, but that's probably down to me being a little biased when it comes to this sort of stuff. For example, I love Super Mario Kart, so I was hoping to see more tracks from it but instead, there's only one.

I've been thinking about that kind of stuff myself. Characters is one thing I was thinking about. I was thinking which new characters can they introduce to the next one. So far, I've got Kamek, a Hammer Brother, a Pianta and a Noki from Isle Delfino, Professor E. Gadd and a Bandit from Yoshi's Island.

If they were to incorporate other Nintendo franchises, then wouldn't a name change have to happen, as it would no longer be "Mario Kart" but more "Nintendo Kart"?

I like the sound of those examples.

If they were to do that, they could just make the next game a special "once only" game that would still be part of the Mario Kart series. Call the game something like "Mario Kart: Invitational" or whatever.

Also, the Piranha Plant weapon is growing on me now. I think maybe I didn't like it at first as I wasn't exactly 100% clear on how to use it. I was having a race online today and I was in first place when someone used a Blooper. I was currently using a Piranha Plant at the time, when just as the Blooper was about to spray it's ink, the Piranha Plant ate the thing in the blink of an eye. I wasn't expecting it at all, so I thought it was both cool and hilarious at the same time.

Speaking of online though, it's slowly being ruined for me now, as more and more people are fire hopping their way to victory. It just sucks the fun out of the race.
