Also SoulCalibur 6 may be announced at a Playstation event. Dunno if that's what they're teasing, but a new iteration became likely when leakers who were spot on about SFV characters and look spot on about MvCi season 2 characters also mentioned SoulCalibur 6. Even mentioned the big gimmick will be variations of characters ala MKX.

I still prefer discs. Something physically mine that can't be magically erased or taken offline one day or hacked or whatever. I also like those cases sitting on my shelf.

Also I hate waiting on everything to download and hate having to clear space on drives to download something for hours. Shit installs from discs way faster in the vast majority of cases with the exception of games that have a required download.

Also Comcast used to have that shitty data limit that they finally did away with. I was not wasting my precious data on downloading a 100gb game.

Breath of the Wild took the GotY crown for The Game Awards show. First time ever Nintendo won this award going back to the Spike Tv era.

No idea how to sync a controlled to my computer.

I just got a cheap Bluetooth adapter that plugs into USB. Then just turn it on to detect new devices and google instructions on how to sync whatever controller you want. For an Xbox One controller you would just have to hit the wireless sync button or connect it via usb long enough to register. It will then register as a device on your PC and Xbox One controller support is fully integrated into windows so you don't need any 3rd party software.

I use a PS4 controller on my PC. It's the hardest one to pair to a computer and it takes all of like 10 seconds. It really is worth it for a lot of PC games. Pretty much anything that isn't twitchy like FPS games where a controller puts you at a disadvantage.

Played the Monster Hunter: World beta.

Wish there was some more............depth.

3 monsters to hunt down at easy, medium, and hard difficulties. All weapons opened up, some armor pieces to choose from.

Basically, find monster tracks, kill monster, reset.

Will mess around with it some more try most of the weapons and see what I'm comfortable with. Learn the controls, too. Used the Insect Glaive the first go-around and it was smooth.

Alpha 2 Gold is actually thought to be the prime of the alpha series, as is Super Turbo in 2 and 3rd Strike in III. So it's exclusion is baffling. I would have it replace Alpha 2 altogether.

Alpha 3 Double Upper is a bit of a hard case. It's only releases were a handheld and DC at the turn of new consoles so it's not clear how good or broken it is as it didn't really have a big scene.

Also some are speculating that they focused on everything that had an arcade release, which is why we have Hyper Fighting rather than SF 2 Turbo.

Plus there's the simple historical and collector motivation for this package over competitive gameplay. 3rd Strike is the only SF3 worth taking seriously but it's nice to have the other two.

And what's notable is SF1 seeing a re-release and Alpha 3 having online play for the first time (outside of unofficial networks like GGPO).

Same guy who's been leaking fighting game news for the past year has leaked that Bardock, Brolly, Base Goku and Base Vegeta are going to be DLC for Dragon Ball Fighter Z.

Obviously Vegeta and Goku are a controversial decision. Personally, I'm happy if it's true. Saiyan/Namek saga Goku and Vegeta are my favorite versions of the characters, and there is a wealth of material that they can pull from to ensure they play completely differently from their SSJ versions. definitely has that early access jankiness. Kalyx would hate it lol. The tension is amazing though. Even just running to the next set of buildings is intense. Only got one kill, but it was great. Tricked a guy into coming into building after me. He tried to flank and come in from the side, but I had gone out the back and hit him with the shotty.

Think I'm gonna really like this, but I want to play with other people.

1. You get randies...though I dont recommend it. I played a couple games with a random fill in in both duo and squad, and people dont like to talk (which is clearly key when you're sweeping buildings for loot)

2. tap LT (or RT...one of those). The game suffers from the same thing Hello Neighbor does, in that they really need to work on translating PC controls to console.

Yeah, the love they have for DBZ is apparent. This is definitely a passion project.

For instance with Teen Gohan's lvl 3 one handed Kamehameha super, you can sacrifice 2 more bars to make him extend it and slowly walk forward, like he did in the climax of the Cell battle.

I really don't see how this rigging matchmaking concept is supposed to work in practice. They seem to not know how competitive gaming actually works, unless overhauls to gameplay accompany such ideas. This was most apparent in Activisions patent details; they ignore metagame stables like map design, game mode, and player strategem - instead believing loadouts in and of themselves end-all. Like these patents are written by marketers rather than game designers, which will not bode well for gamers or publishers.

Quantic Dream studio and its CEO, David Cage, are currently dealing with several allegations regarding having a toxic workplace environment. Bulk of the complaints revolve around staff being overworked beyond reasonable hours and racist and homophobic remarks by both Cage and CFO Guillaume de Fondaumière. Guillaume de Fondaumière was also accused of using degrading remarks towards staff at office parties.

In regards to the racist and homophobic allegations, Cage dismissed them as just jokes and the excuse of him not being a homophobe because he works with gay people.

Cage and Guillaume de Fondaumière, Quantic Dream's co-CEO and CFO, are facing a variety of accusations including overworking staff, overlooking racist and sexist jokes including 600 crude Photoshops, and inappropriate behavior.

Le Monde -- the only paper without a paywall -- interviewed 15 former employees about their experience with the company. While Cage's work ethic is almost universally praised, his management style is not. In February of last year, an IT manager for the company was sent a cache of 600 Photoshops featuring employee faces pasted onto sometimes sexist or homophobic imagery, the earliest of which dates back to 2013. Also, there's some Nazi stuff thrown in there because of course there is.

Cage and de Fondaumière told Le Monde they only saw the images considered funny even though they were cc'd on emails containing a link to the folder with all of the questionable material. Le Monde spoke with Cage at Quantic Dream where he argued the company is not a "rugby locker room," which sounds like a play on that "locker room talk" nonsense we had to deal with in 2016 ...

Perhaps most damning is two employees recounted an incident where Cage was viewing security camera footage of a burglary and he turned to an employee of Tunisian descent and inquired if he was related to them ...

While Cage is the most noteworthy person in the article because who doesn't have an opinion on David Cage, de Fondaumière doesn't get off easy. Former employees accuse him of making inappropriate remarks and degrading employees at office parties. Others interviewed by Le Monde also note 80-hour work weeks, 15-hour work days, and working seven days a week.

I'm 20 hours in over the 2 days it's been out it's that good. If you can cope with Skyrim level jank and your PC can handle it, go for it because it is addictive as fuuuuck.

I doubt I'm anywhere near finishing the main quest since I keep fucking around with side quests. I said PC because the save system and lockpicking are so shit they need modding.

Except real gambling has element of loss where you get nothing for your trouble. Videogame lootboxes technically give you 'something', with only our definition of value classifying loot content as 'reward' or 'loss'.

So we're clear, I hate lootboxes. People who buy them are baffling. They completely annihilated reward systems in games.

But they are barely gambling (I can only go as far as to agree it's gambling-ish), they aren't criminal, and we can't call them predatory without a good hard look at the community of gamers or gamer parents. I rather not validate the old violent games debate by acting like lootboxes are anything more than super annoying rewards systems that threaten gameplay balance.
If i make a $10 slot machine that garuntees at least a .01¢ return its still gambling. And that is exactly what loot boxes do.

My mistake and fixed some of the wording.

Was originally trying to compare how the original set was announced and released. It didn't get a sequel until a couple years later to cover the rest of the non-NES games. I also have the bad habit of forgetting the SNES had non-X series Mega Man games.

The X collection seems to be Capcom splitting it into 2 from the start and releasing both at the same time.
