If you like classic Sonic games then probably yes. Was originally developed as a Sonic fangame that later became its own thing while keeping the classic Sonic series inspirations for gameplay.

Steam might have a demo available while the Wii U version had a demo as part of a special E3 Nintendo indies promotion. The Wii U promotion also gave a 15% discount for when those games got released later on.

I know next to nothing about Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5, but I'm willing to bet it isn't that bad. Everyone seems to have shit on it after they found out it had bad graphics and someone found some glitches, even though almost everybody in "gaming" claims that gameplay is much more important than graphics.

The gameplay is awful. I mean God awful. So they mapped a slam button to the front button, so instead of that fun magnetised grind, you miss by pixels annnnd your combos gone.

The graphics are bad, it's glitchy as fuck but the gameplay is actually the worst part. Actually, maybe level design is worse.

What I liked about it the most was being able to play ps1 and ps2 games but every subsequent model dropped those features for some reason so oh well... not sure which "model" to get

the "slim" one seems like it will last the longest, right... the old "phat" ones are basicly obsolete right, like they will all just die right

I get not wanting to be put on blast in the public about things that untrue but it's that a) they want a shallow apology that means nothing and b) they're not willing to meet with them to discuss it. I'm not sure why they'd be against trying to work this out without somebody being embarrassed into something sappy like the Public Apology.

And as bad as I want Senmue 3 to happen you really don't get to say it's exclusive to any platform and then talk about needing money. Make it multiplatform or get those platforms to support you better. There's no real inbetween.

Oh boy, we wouldn't want any scary petitions signed by a fringe sample of the potential millions of buyers for a AAA title. Ask David Hayter how that worked out.

And even without petitions; Reuben Langdon has portrayed Ken in Street Fighter since 2009 in games and anime (and a cameo soundbyte for Wreck-It Ralph). Replaced in SFV. Fucks given; none. Most people won't even notice. He is also basically Dante incarnate, playing the part in voice and motion capture for DMC3-4. There were many fucks given when the series had that terrible reboot actually, but that was for many more reasons than simply him not being Dante. At least he did some new stuff for the special edition. But make no mistake, if Capcom course corrects and makes DMC5 but without Langdon, it would be a riot but hardly one Capcom would budge at.

trying to transfer my old PS3 data which i put onto a USB external hard drive onto a new PS3

old model was "CECHE01" - the original 60gb "phat" one backwards compatible with ps1/ps2

the new one is "CECH-2001A" i think - 120gb "slim"

plugged in my hard drive and it recognizes it, but then says there is no game data on it... can't find any music/pictures data also even though that stuff is on there too

is there any way to get it back or did i just spend a lot of time and money for years trying to specifically avoid this situation for nothing :)

Is Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End too formulaic?

Uncharted 4 is the first PS4 entry in a series that has traditionally pushed boundaries. Why does it feel so familiar?

I played Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End at Tokyo Game Show this year and it was a tremendous relief to get back to third-person shoot-and-quip after running the gauntlet of Bloodborne: The Old Hunters (https://www.vg247.com/2015/09/21/everything-is-horrible-in-bloodborne-the-old-hunters/) and Dark Souls 3 (https://www.vg247.com/2015/09/22/dark-souls-3-better-than-dark-souls-2/).

Even playing in Japanese (the voice acting isn’t as good as Nolan North’s) it all felt very familiar. There’s a moment in the demo where you reach the end of a street blocked by a burning vehicle, and Drake mumbles something about not getting through that way. No guidance is offered on where you’re supposed to go next, but the Uncharted veteran in me immediately shimmied a sign post and leapt through a hole in a nearby wall.

Graphics don’t make the game, and even if Uncharted 4 is the most beautiful thing ever to have happened in the history of video games, it’s not new.

The controls came back to me almost immediately, causing me some amount of wincing; I never warmed up to Uncharted’s gunplay, although I understand it has its fans. That said, though the act of putting a reticule (or a grenade) on a baddie is more of a chore than I think it should be, the demo showcased what I do really like about Uncharted’s combat: the way Drake’s squishiness, complicated enemy movements and arena design combine to reward aggressive, tactical movement rather than huddling in cover and waiting for waves to approach.

In one encounter, knocking out a few enemies with stealth gave me a chance to scout the arena, finding cover, choke points and groups of baddies and allowing for a strategic approach or quick tactical response. This is what I most enjoyed during the entire demo, and although I must admit it’s been a while since I played an Uncharted game, to me it felt like this aspect of combat was more prominent than in past titles. It felt like Naughty Dog took some lessons from The Last of Us, which was certainly much less of a shooting gallery than some sequences in the Uncharted series.

It was a short demo, easily completed in my allotted time even though I had to reload several times due to a basic misunderstanding of the initial truck chase sequence. It ended shortly after the combat encounter I mentioned above, just as it seemed like the battle was going to really get interesting and challenging.

I was disappointed by this because it wasn’t until this fight that I’d really started to enjoy myself. Maybe it was that I was playing without North’s charming banter or the context of the broader plot, but I have to admit I was kind of … bored.

Uncharted spends a lot of time being a third-person cover shooter. It’s a pretty good one, sometimes, despite my personal dislike of the basic aiming, but still – you spend a lot of time in combat encounters and a lot of time running between them climbing along linear cliffs, and that’s about it.

Well, no, of course it’s not; for me, Uncharted has always been about visiting amazing places, finding hidden treasures and solving puzzles of ancient technology. I hope, and firmly expect, that the full game is choccas with the kinds of moments that made Uncharted (and Tomb Raider before it) stand so far above rival third-person action games, even when the action gameplay missed the mark.

And yes, the full game will have Nolan North and a story, too, and judging by Naughty Dog’s track history they’ll probably be excellent. All that will help distract you from the fact that you’re playing yet another third-person action adventure and maybe you’re a bit fatigued by them. I am. The spectacle left me unmoved, and despite my confidence that the complete package will overcome that fatigue, I must confess to a little disappointment in the first PS4 Uncharted for not blowing me away when it had the chance.

Maybe I’ve been spoiled by playing so many terrific games already this generation. Maybe it’s just that I’ve forgotten what PlayStation 3 games looked like, so the jump to PS4 no longer impresses me.

This is a complaint that has been levelled a lot this generation, I think, that games are just shinier rather than more interesting, and Uncharted may be in for the same critique. Where the first Uncharted games felt like they were blowing the bar sky high, this one just felt like more of the same.

More of the explosions, jokes and high-octane action only prettier is exactly what many of you want, of course, so hooray! That’s pretty much guaranteed. Me? Not so much. This morning when I threw open the door to greet the dawn I found a courier had wedged the edge of a packet into the hinges yesterday; it was my copy of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. “Do I really want to do all this again,” I wondered, “Even if it is incredibly beautiful (https://www.vg247.com/2015/09/28/welp-uncharted-the-nathan-drake-collection-looks-amazing-at-60fps/)?”

The co-founder of Dontnod studio accidentally revealed a sequel to Life is Strange is in development (or will be very soon). The interview with French website Alchimy was later edited to remove the leak once the studio realized what happened and/or was said by accident.

Another interview by the co-director with Polygon revealed the sequel would likely involve a new cast of characters.

I'm days in with this story. Yeah, Tecmo don't wanna deal with the current PC climate. It's important to note that while this could be chalked up as cowardice, a great deal of feminist and general PC/moralist critique of women in games almost uniformly cite DOA's fighting and beach games and I suppose they would get wind of that. This is their reaction, "Fuck that noise."

The best part really is the SJW reaction, it's literally what conservatives are doing right now about the recent abortion clinic shooting: *Vilifies person/company/group for years* *some logical result happens* "...What? Us? We have nothing to do with that. We don't have a problem with what happened, and in fact we kinda sort of support it, but don't blame us!" It's cowardly in its own right to not own up to the environment you created.

I actually don't have a great deal of sympathy for 'they made me do it' excuses, so you may be surprised that I'm giving Tecmo the majority flak for this. They could simply port the game and not give a fuck. Hell they almost certainly sold more through imports as morale support, and maybe that can tell them that people don't really take the ideological smears seriously. It would also be a black eye to the fucks who think certain games shouldn't exist, which is always fun.

DOAX sells more in the west (US, UK) than Japan itself. Itagaki mentioned this before in the past. And that's not even a quality argument statistic; it's common sense given the sheer potential buyer population of western markets. Think about what you're saying: because DOAX "sells like shit", they're going to block it from major markets. I know for a fact that you know better than this, Has. It already has english translation; selling to the west would easily make up for getting the DOA5 actresses back for a few lines. That's literally all they would need to add.

Also, two different reps of different departments from Tecmo said the same thing about why it's not coming herein rather candid posts. And the press release's language was still curiously acquiesce to those very posts. It did not explain why it's Japan only, and especially after a relatively successful resurgence with DOA5 and its updates. It did say however:

We remain focused on delivering the best in fighting entertainment to our fans around the world, while consciously respecting and strategizing to support the different global audiences the DEAD OR ALIVE franchise lends itself to.

What has sprouted in recent games media that would suddenly make US/UK a "different global audience" for DOAX? C'mon, Has, it's on the tip of your tongue... You can say it...

Of course it sold like shit in Japan before this, it was on XBox. Overall, Xtreme 2 sold about 250k worldwide. It's pointless to even print the discs at this point and at best, it'd come out as digital only. It's just weird, because much more sexual games have come out on Vita and no-one made a peep. No-one made a peep about this game until DOAs social media person made retracted comments.

Haven't encountered any of these long load time problems in Just Cause 3 myself. Still pretty fucking stupid to connect a single player game to your servers. You can put it in offline mode, but then you can't see the map. The fuck.

Regardless the game is fucking great. It's just a playground of massive explosions. The map, like the last game, is humongous, dwarfing other open world games. There is still a lot of "nothing space" but it's more detailed now. Even an empty field looks gorgeous from the air, which is where you will be spending most of your time. Wingsuit is tits btw.

The prologue mission has you standing on top of a plane firing a rocket launcher at anti air installments. Take from that what you will.

The lateness can be explained due to the creator of the game constantly refusing to port the game to Nintendo systems before he got bought out by Microsoft. Think it was more of him not liking Nintendo than anything technical with the Wii U/3DS.
