Nah, Freesync is the variable refresh rate stuff. So I've got a G-Sync monitor and what it does is change the TVs refresh rate to whatever the framerate of the game is running. What this means is that it removes some of the big issues with framerate drops like screen tearing or frame pacing. It makes things so much damn smoother.

Didn't they also only make around a million to 1.5 million of these Classics as well? Don't think they even bothered with a second run of production at least in the US.

One of their biggest weakness in recent years is them being really bad at guaging public interest for their products as a whole. Unless its something Mario, Pokemon, or Zelda related, its more likely than not they are going to under-estimate the demand for it by a lot.

Think they even had to hire another company recently to help them out because of how bad they were getting with this.

Nintendo has a strange kind of modesty on their Japanese end. They'll talk about Zelda or Mario like an indy passion project rather than them being some of the best games in history. Compare that to how western devs talk about their game; Bungie especially has become massively cocky to the point the community had to pester them to stop being so flowery in blog updates.

And Nintendo leaving money on the table is strange only in the context of what we're used to with other companies. Any other company would be on the tenth expansion of a Pokemon MMO by now. Or Metroid Prime 7.

I feel like Ghost Recon is terrible on your own or with randoms, but with 3 friends shooting the shit and doing the occasional mission, it fills the same hole Destiny did for a lot of people.

This model is successful to the point where Ubi have said that FarCry 5 and the news Assassins Creed will be service based games too. Wonder how they'll pull that off.

Still, the single player narritive game space has been strong this year, but I think most companies are going to be chasing that service money. Thank god Japan found their mojo again to fill the gap some of these games will leave.

Ugh. I know that multiplayer has been "all the rage" for a very long time, but we need more single player narratives along the lines of Witcher 3 and (flame shield) Fallout 4. Loved the stories to both and both kept me wanting to play to advance the plot.

According to the NPD Group, which tracks video game sales in the United States, the Nintendo Switch system was the best-selling video game hardware in the month of April with more than 280,000 units sold. This is the second month in a row that Nintendo Switch has led the pack in video game hardware sales, following a record-breaking launch in March. April sales of Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo 3DS family of systems (more than 68,000 units sold) combined to make up almost half of all hardware sales across all dedicated video game systems.

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game was the top-selling video game in April with more than 460,000 physical units sold. With digital sales added, the total is more than 550,000 units. Making this number more impressive is the fact that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe launched on April 28, which only accounts for two days’ worth of sales in the reporting period, which cut off on April 29.

Seems a big reason for the extra 2-3 years needed for Final Fantasy VII Remake is due to Square Enix recently making big changes to the project.

More in-house for development work and supposedly dropped CyberConnect2 studio who was helping work on the project.

Evidently Noaki Hamaguchi, who worked on Lightning Returns as a programmer and was the lead for Mobius Final Fantasy, is now leading the Remake.

As of this past week Hamaguchi is aggressively seeking effects designers, a programmer, and battle and level planners to help work on the project, and while development "was" focusing on external help, now Square Enix is "controlling everything," which will lead to more of a massive scale and allegedly increase the quality of the game.

Though very choppy (another case of 'hot screenshot, poor movement' design) and animations don't blend well with anything you wanna do, this game has a lot of good ideas suffering thru a technical mess. I don't that this is something that can be patched out over time, but a higher budget sequel will be amazing. They should have scaled back on some ideas (a perk system wasn't necessary) but the general gameplay has a few good moments.

Flipped games to the point where I was able to rebuy the games that I traded in and also leave with a PlayStation vr, 30 psn, a year of plus, and kingdom hearts 1.5+2.5.

Telltale Games big announcement ended up being the debut reveals for Wolf Among Us 2, Batman: The Enemy Within, and The Walking Dead: The Final Season.

New Batman game arrives on August 8th while the others two games arrive next year.

All of these games will be debuting on PC, Mac, PS4 and Xbox One with mobile ports to follow, though only Batman will be releasing this year with its debut coming on August 8. Both The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us 2 will launch sometime in 2018. Each series will be five episodes long and Batman will be heading to retail with a "Season Pass" disc that contains the first episode and a download voucher for the remaining four. How fun...

As for specifics on each new season, The Walking Dead will focus on Clementine yet again and the new Batman season will feature the Riddler and The Joker with an option to import saves from the first season (much like The Walking Dead).
