4) Update to the recent Driveclub news as Evolution Studios states the regular version of the game is also suffering from bad server issues to the point no new players are allowed to join online races unless current players give up their spots.
“In case you don’t already know, the servers are up and running but they are hitting their performance limits, so they won’t accept new connections until one of the current online players frees up their space (allowing another to join in their place, which happens automatically and player selection is random),” the developer wrote in a Facebook update.

“If and when you get online, you should not have any connectivity issues during the remainder of your session. When you finish and disconnect, you’ll free up a space for someone else. Unlike previous instances, the FBI has gotten involved due to claims of her company's financial account being hacked by those within the movement. I'm just saying; while they have the right to make whatever they want that also includes suffering the consequences of exercising that freedom to certain extremes. If they are ready for the almost certain backlash for making something like this - cool. Good for them.

But I really hope they don't come out like they have no clue why people in a post annual mass-shooting country would have a problem about what's essentially an update to Postal.

I don't have interest in top-down/isomeric shooter types, unless it's Zombies Ate My Neighbors (and that Expendables 2 game was cute), so in any case I wouldn't play this. I'm also not fond of 'extreme violence for the sake of it' - Manhunt never interested me. What I'm getting at is the gameplay doesn't seem to offer anything special. It's a top-down shooter thing with close-up fatalities. Unless they have a big narrative reveal that will completely swerve us all, we have no choice but to think the violence is literally the entire selling point.

I'm sorry but there's just way more risk than reward for something like that. I would need an interview from this guy to see where's he's coming from, though. I could be reading all this wrong.

We say ‘yes, it is a game about killing people’ and the only reason of the antagonist doing that sick stuff is his deep-rooted hatred. Player has to ask himself what can push any human being to mass-murder.

In light, because they can and want to. In today's world, no matter the media, there is a group somewhere that is offended by everything. If this is their first and last, so be it. I am sure they will be happy doing what they wanted.

On X1 you can check your account status and it'll show you which Live level you got and when it will run out. I think 360 also tells you when it's gonna be up. They also bomb your dashboard with ads to renew when you're closing in on your end.

Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog feature on new stamps

An Post has issued four stamps celebrating four figures from the world of computer games. The new stamps feature the images of Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog, PacMan and Space Invaders.

Mario is the biggest selling game series of all time, having first appeared in the arcade game Donkey Kong. Since that first appearance, the character has appeared in more than 200 games.

Sonic the Hedgehog, created as a rival to Mario, first appeared in an eponymous game in 1991. PacMan first appeared in 1980 and went on to become a favourite in both arcade and PC format.

Space Invaders was developed by Tomohiro Nishikado in 1978. The game was manufactured and sold by Taito in Japan.

The four stamps were designed by Dublin-based design studio Zinc Design Consultants.

It's pretty much Assassin's creed LOTR, but with cooler abilities, and an awesome system for taking out targets. The whole ranking system for orcs and how a random normal enemy can be promoted if he kills you is awesome. It means you can get revenge on pretty much any enemy that kills you, and can even create a perceived rivalry between you and the captains. Like there is one captain that killed me twice now, so he's gotton way more powerful by doing so, but it's just gonna make it all the sweeter when I finally get him.

Only bad thing I can say right now is that the enviornment is a little bland. Being in Mordor, it's all ruins and black rocks everywhere, but I guess a second less cliche looking place opens up later. Still, the gameplay totally makes up for it.

Combat uses the same counter/attack system as Batman and Assassins games, but it's a bit trickier here. I made the mistake of jumping right into large groups of enemies right from the start and ended up dying a few times. You'll be able to do that later, but at the start you have to rely on stealth which is really fun in itself anyway.

Might be an interesting read for some but a recent study regarding violent games and kids revealed an inverse in the levels of youth violence in society.

The study was based on a 16 year span and showed that youth violence actually rises more when there are less popular violent games than not. Movie violence had more cases where more popular violent films lead to more youth violence but overall was also similar to gaming.

Author Christopher J. Ferguson studied the correlation between violent video games and societal violence over a 16-year span. He compared incidents of societal violence to levels of consumption of violent video games from 1996 to 2011 ...

The results show an inverse relationship between violence video games and youth violence in society. When video game violence is rising, youth violence drops. When video game violence is declining, youth violence rises.

The study also showcased similar results with movie violence, but there were some slight points where an increase in movie violence also showed an increase in societal violence, but the average shows the relationship between the two is inverse. The range for this portion of the study was between 1920 and 2005.

There were a bunch of exceptions to the study though mostly in regards to mobile and social-based (ex. Facebook) gaming.

One of the main purposes of the study was to disprove the idea of aggression levels being related or caused by violent games.

Unity isn't that bad. I'm enjoying it. And honestly I've seen much much buggier games get review scores that didn't drop til after release. Fallout 3/NV? Skyrim on PS3? Those games got much better ratings than Unity did, as well, and I find that to be more disturbing. I've only played the demo and yeah I usually do write-ups on that but it slipped my mind, I guess.

Anyway Bayonetta 2 pretty much retains everything you love and doesn't leave you feeling like you're playing a totally weaker character than when you last left Bayo (like how DMC and Ninja Gaiden sequels tend to feel). I assume the demo portion was the beginning of the game, and it really does start like how most games end. Just epic, over-the-top wackiness that is very Bayonetta. Steady 60fps and the WiiU pro controller is ready for quick inputs.

Being that we don't have a Wii-U here and we're at the mercy of a bud who comes over, I wish I could dive in wholesale. But take that dive for me. I recently got the DMC HD collection and DMC4 digital. Probably gonna get Korra and Ninja Gaiden 2 another time. Have to rebuy Metal Gear Rising for reasons I'd be infuriated just explaining.

I love these hack-n-slashers, man. I do.

I honestly feel like the WiiU is the best system out there right now. Between the disc games, Backwards Compatability, the VC, the digital stuff like NES Remix, it just blows the other systems out of the water with the amount of games you can play on it.

Beat Volgarr. Have to totally disagree with you drave. Controls great, and there's a lot of stuff that seems cheap when you first encounter it, but it's nothing that can't be overcome with a little skill. Obviously, if you don't know it's coming, you're probably going to die, but that trial and error system is part of every challenging platformer ever.

Also didn't REALLY beat it yet. There is a secret final level and boss that you get by beating the Valkyrie levels which are accessed by finishing the level with pyreflies. You get those by opening 7 chests without getting hit. SO it's pretty fucking tough, but definitely doable.

Supposedly Lizard Squad got bribed with premium Mega filehost accounts in order for them to end the attacks on XBL (and PSN) for now. Guy took full credit for the truce instead of the possibility of Sony and Microsoft doing more to help end the attacks on their end.
